July Food Stamp Recipients at All-Time High: Fiscal Year Food Stamps Soar

July 2010 food stamp recipients climbed to 41.8 million. October 2010 marks the beginning of a new fiscal year in the U.S. Beginning this month, "more than an eighth of the U.S. population will get food stamps" each and every month in the coming year - that's an average of 43.3 million people on food stamps every month - an 18% jump from the previous year beginning October 2009.
