Right Reading Roundup 5-31-10 at Maggie's Notebook

The following Right Reading Roundup is a mix of news and great Memorial Day tributes. Enjoy!

Reaganite Republican has a smashing post about Detroit,  about the Mayor's Mansion, about a mugging seen on Google Street View, and about the Democrat's city ruins - all with a video you have to see.

Ol Broad quotes an IDF soldier "It looked like the "Ramallah lynch." While you're there take a look at It is the Veteran.

Stanford Matthews at Blog@MoreWhat has a classic post on the Arizona Illegal Alien law, AND a video by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer - not your average video. Hilarious! She makes her point well. See also a beautiful Memorial Day Tribute in photos.

Alexp writing for Blogs 4 History takes a look at the second half of The New Deal, and the "end of reform in Totalitarianism: The Savior of American Capitalism? Be reminded of the Arizona Memorial in    God Bless our Warriors.

teresamerica has the Messiah at the Bat with Sarah Palin on the pitcher's mound. I loved this. Watched it twice.

Bloviating Zeppelin wrote a major piece this week, with much thought and research behind it. The US Constitution: Manipulated by Leftists examines Obama's goal, and the culmination involves the federal courts. Very interesting. His Memorial Day 2010 is a montage of photos: "Strong in the strength of the Lord , we who fight in the people's cause will never stop until that cause is won."

ChicagoRay has an awesome post about the rain in Chicago, Obama's canceled Memorial Day address, a Blackhawks game, and a great video of Ray-man playing guitar and singing the National Anthem, with a very personal message at the end, and another fine tribute here.

Conservative Blogs Central says:
President Obama has no time for Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day 2010, BUT seems to find the time to share an evening with Nation of Islam leader and Jew hater Louis Farrakhan.
...or Obama was across the street from Farrakhan's house, at the Nesbitt's. Still waiting for the final truth, if we ever get it. The" Fruit of Islam" [Farrakhan's bodyguards] loitered outside a home on the side of the street where the press pool and secret service waited...and intervened. Here's more of the story.

Ah, but the "Obama breaking bread with Jew hater Farrakhan persists."

The Obama File has this photo. This is my first time to see it. How about you?

Barack and Michelle's Wedding

Ticker at Jus' Sayin' Talks of The Rise and Fall of a Nation and asks Where are we? As always at Ticker's, the comments add to the commentary.

Chris at WyBlog says the "three sweetest words ever to be said will be "former President Obama," and then quotes Tom Kean, the chairman of the 9/11 Commission who says "if we don't get our act together, we're going to be in serious trouble." Kean compares the Nation's danger point on 9/11 to now.

Ms. Sparky links to a page that memorializes American contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan who have died in support of our military, and says for them and their families "there is no ceremonial return."

The Lonely Conservative tolls the bell and quotes Mark Tapscott:
Release of the Federal Trade Commission’s working paper on “reinventing journalism” makes it clear that there is no more time for diplomacy about this issue: President Obama is determined to federalize the news industry just as he has banking, autos, and health care.
Everybody who wants independent journalism had better wake up to these three facts about what is going:
Bernie at Planck's Constant puts war in it's proper perspective and explains it all to the "war-never solved-anything idiots."
