Cuba Iran Korea Review U.S. Human Rights Violations: Obama's Voluntary Shellacking

Barack Obama joined the U.N. Human Rights Council in 2009 and thus put us on the road to "universal periodic review" of this country's human rights.

For several hours, some 56 countries took to the podium and condemned the U.S.  Unbelievably, the hate for our republicanism is so intense, many "stood in line overnight to be near the top of the list of speakers.

Cuba said the U.S. blockade against them is a "crime of genocide." They harangued us about our "violations against migrants," and they didn't forget our rampant brutality against our mentally ill. We were advised to feed our people and keep them healthy.

Iran is deeply concerned by "systematic widespread violations" in the U.S. and warned us about our abuses against women.

North Korea wants us to take care of our "housing inequalities," and prohibit violence of law enforcement.

Libya points to our "racism.

In the Bush years, the U.S. delegation refused to join this farcical Commission, populated by the most heinously cruel human rights violators on the planet.

The Obama administration could not wait to subject us to the scrutiny of tyrants. Now they have until  Tuesday to accept or reject the recommendations also coming from Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Bolivia:

The whole list of criticisms and recommendations, as well as our response, will be put together in a document distributed globally by the U.N. for the edification of America-bashers around the world. 

The United Nations is a pit of vipers. We stroke them and coddle them, and fund their atrocities. We make a mockery of our own democracy by acknowledging their right of communist and totalitarian states to address the human rights of any other country. While their people starve, are tortured in prisons for speaking out about their oppressors, live with no electricity, have their children taken from them, and see women so unspeakably abused  - we submit to their scrutiny. Why would we join this hateful coalition?

At some point we must pull out of the United Nations, and form a body of true democratic countries. The sooner the better. Maybe the next President will have a heart for the benevolence of the U.S. and move to dump this obscene United Nations.

The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) also known as the Kill the Jews Commitee has voted that Israel committed War Crimes against the Mavi Marmara on May 31.

A report by three United Nations appointed human rights experts Wednesday said that Israeli forces violated international law when they raided a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, killing nine activists, earlier this year.

The UN Human Rights Council's fact-finding mission concluded that Israel's naval blockade of the Palestinian territory was unlawful because of the humanitarian crisis there, and described the military raid on the flotilla as brutal and disproportionate.

Israel has maintained that its soldiers acted in self-defense when they shot and killed eight Turkish activists and one Turkish-American aboard the Mavi Marmara on May 31. Israel Defense Forces released footage showing its troops coming under attack as they tried to board the boat.

The Human Rights Council blamed Israel prior to the investigation and it is no surprise that they condemn after, said Andy David, a spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry, referring to the 47-member body's resolution in early June condemning the raid.

This is the same organization headed by that bastion of Liberty and Human Rights:  Libya.

I am Kristiana Venelinova Valcheva, a nurse from Bulgaria. To make my identity clearer I will add a few keywords - Bulgarian medics, hostages, inquisitions, Libya, Qaddafi, death sentence, issued trice.

If someone told me eleven years ago that these words would become my "visit card", I would laugh. Because eleven years ago my life, the lives of my husband, Dr. Zdravko Georgiev, of another four Bulgarian nurses and the Palestinian doctor Ashraf., as well as the lives of our families were cut in the middle - before and after 1999.

It all began on February 9, 1999, in Benghazi. On that day we, five Bulgarian nurses, were abducted in a gangsters' manner by the Libyan authorities. They abducted us from our homes and workplaces, threw us into a bus with our hands, eyes and mouth tied, and carried us overnight one thousand and hundred kilometers away to Tripoli 1,100 km. In Libya they call this a lawful arrest.

We did not know why this was happening and what was coming after. We did not know that we ware a part of a sinister scenario of a dictator. We did not know that what was awaiting us were eight years and a half in the hell of the Libyan prisons.

For 14 months they kept us at a school for police dogs. For 14 months we were subjected to barbaric torture, humiliation and mockery.

They stretched me at a window frame and beat me with sticks and cables. Night after night they forced us to stand on one leg with our hands raised and if anybody tried to put his second leg on the floor out of exhaustion, that one would be mercilessly beaten. They would beat us over the soles of our feet, and then make us run with our feet swollen and black of beating, blood and lymph flowing from them. They injected me with drugs, undressed me totally naked, bind me to a metal bed and then the worst started -- inquisition by electrical shock.

You see that under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights every Muslim nation is allowed to torture, falsely imprison, rape and even murder any non-Muslim in their land.  So it is ok for Libya or any other Islamic nation hellhole to do what they want without any repercussions from the rest of the world.  In fact they are rewarded for their actions!

Yes they have really conned the world!

Barack Obama Lockerbie Bomber: US Wanted Abdelbaset Sent to Libya but Not Jailed

We've mused about this. How involved was the White House in Abdelbaset Ali Mohamed al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber's release from the Scottish prison? And was their involvement tied to the campaign donations from BP to Obama? A letter obtained by the UK Sunday Times reports to show that Obama preferred Abdelbaset be sent home to Libya, but not imprisoned there, and a letter from the US Embassy Deputy Head in London, Richard LeBaron has surfaced.

The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee has been investigating how Abdelbaset was released from the Scottish prison on compassionate grounds, sent home to Libya to die within three months, and is still alive one year later. At the time, it seemed the U.S. did not heartily oppose the release. I remember Obama telling Libya to quash any idea of a big reunion celebration on camera when the bomber arrived home. Of course the cameras rolled and the celebration was big.

Obama received a total of $77,051 leading up to his presidential race in November 2008, millions more went to Democrats. In the summer of 2008, BP was desperately trying to find a way to get their drilling operation off of Libya's coast operating. It appears Libya was holding those leases hostage to obtain Abdelbaset's freedom. By August, whatever deals were cut, the bomber was released and sent home. Rumors were ripe that Libya paid Scottish doctors to issue a terminal cancer diagnosis.

The Australian says the Deputy Head of the US Embassy in London, Richard LeBaron,  rendered the letter to the Scots from Obama one week before Abdelbast's release:

The document, acquired by a well-placed US source, threatens to undermine US President Barack Obama's claim last week that all Americans were "surprised, disappointed and angry" to learn of Megrahi's release.

Scottish ministers viewed the level of US resistance to compassionate release as "half-hearted" and a sign it would be accepted.

The US has tried to keep the letter secret, refusing to give permission to the Scottish authorities to publish it on the grounds it would prevent future "frank and open communications" with other governments.

In the letter, sent on August 12 last year to Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond and justice officials, Mr LeBaron wrote that the US wanted Megrahi to remain imprisoned in view of the nature of the crime.

The note added: "Nevertheless, if Scottish authorities come to the conclusion that Megrahi must be released from Scottish custody, the US position is that conditional release on compassionate grounds would be a far preferable alternative to prisoner transfer, which we strongly oppose."...

The US administration lobbied the Scottish government more strongly against sending Megrahi home, under a prisoner transfer agreement signed by the British and Libyan governments, in a deal now known to have been linked to a pound stg. 550 million oil contract for BP.

Why would the White House strongly oppose Abdelbaset's imprisonment in Libya? The letter does say that Obama preferred leaving him in prison in Scotland, but if that was not going to happen, preferred the bomber go to his happy home in Libya and not to prison. It doesn't make any sense unless we see the donations going to Obama as conditional.

The Lockerbie bombing, also known as Pan Am 103, killed 190 Americans, 35 of whom were students of Syracuse University, 4 from Colgate University, 4 from Brown University, 2 from Seton Hill University and 2 from State University of New York at Oswego and 1 from Hampshire College. Ten on the flight were residents of Long Island. Justice for the 243 aboard and the 11 dead on the ground was stolen for a BP oil lease, some political donations and a favor to an Islamic nation. Just a few strong words from the Citizen President of the World, Barack Obama, saying Abdelbaset must not be realeased, would have kept him in prison. Obama hates drilling, but he loves campaign money, and he is a great respecter of Islam. What a terrible, terrible story.

States to Investigate Lockerbie Bomber Release: Did BP Secure Abdelbaset Ali Mohamed al-Megrahi Release?

This week the "doctor" who was instrumental in securing the "compassionate" release of Abdelbaset Ali Mohamed al-Megrahi under the guise of prostate cancer, now says the bomber may live another ten years. The states of New York and New Jersey want an investigation, saying new evidence has surfaced showing al-Megrahi was "not as sick as once believed." This amid speculation that BP had more than a little to do with al-Megrahi's release. Confirming the speculation: The UK Times OnLine reported it on August 15, 2009. About forty-five days later, Al-Megrahi was back in Libya.

The short story to whet your memory, Abdelbaset Ali Mohamed al-Megrahi was convicted of blowing up Pan Am Flight 103 over  Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988. Everyone aboard died - 259 total. One hundred and eighty Americans met their deaths in the skies over Lockerbie, including 35 Syracuse University students.

Abruptly, in October 2009 we heard that a physician, Karol Silora, diagnosed Abdelbaset with prostate cancer and said he had only three months to live. The prison released him back to his home in Libya. The U.S. said little about, but Americans were dismayed.

Of course, he didn't die in three months, he didn't die in five months, and now eight months later he still isn't dead, and his diagnosing doctor said it is all very embarrassing that he is still alive...but you know, he might live another ten years.

There were rumors of bribes to gain his release, the doctor paid for a terminal diagnosis. There are many unsubstantiated connections to the U.S. You can read that here, but here is the portion that has to do with BP, perhaps:

Saif Islam [Muammar Ghaddafi's son] is praising the Brits for making an energy deal that allowed 57-year old Megrahi to come home to Tripoli.

Just a side note, when al-Megrahi was in the Scottish prison, he was in a "segregated" area, was believed to have a sitting room, and was served Halal food. His area was known as Gadafi's Cafe.

The Times OnLine - August 15, 2009:

The release of the Lockerbie bomber from prison would liberate Britain’s largest industrial company from a string of problems hampering its $900 million (£546 million) Libyan gas projects, industry sources claimed last night.

BP, the oil giant, signed a deal with Libya in 2007 to explore for gas in the west of the country and offshore. But since then it has faced a string of bureaucratic obstacles, including delays securing official permits and approvals to import equipment through Libyan customs, the sources said....

The close ties between politics and the oil industry in Libya, where 95 per cent of export revenues are from oil and gas, are irrefutable.

BP president Tony Hayward signed the deal with Libya in 2007:

Al-Megrahi’s release also comes amid a highly delicate battle for influence over Tripoli between Russia and the West. It is a struggle tied to billions of dollars worth of oil and arms deals, which could shape Europe’s energy security for years to come

So, if the Times report is correct, then it is possible Britain needed to find a way for BP's problems with Libya to be resolved, and the release of al-Meghrai happened in exchange for their drilling and exploration to move forward.

By the time of the release, Senator Obama, yearning to be President Obama had received $77,051 from BP. He was the "top recipient of BP PAC," - "the largest chunk" of employee's money also went to Obama. The Democrat party received millions from BP.

 Remember when the U.S. said little about al-Megrahi's release, with Obama telling Scotland it was a mistake. He had to know Britain was behind the release. No one believed Scotland would be willing to make the decision, unless Brits were backing it. It was shocking to some of us that there would not be a sharp retort from the U.S.

Obama asked that Libya downplay the bomber's arrival back to his home country so as not to inflame passions back in the states. There was a huge celebration underway as the airplane door opened and al-Megrahi appeared to a roaring crowd. That policy of Muslim outreach is a one-way street.

Perhaps Obama was paid-off with campaign funds, and the promise for future donations. Perhaps making a fuss about freedom for the murderer of 180 Americans wasn't worth losing donations to Obama's stash.

In September 2009, Hillary through the State Department, tried to "disburse $2.5 million in economic aid to Libya. Congress, in one of the few honest moves they have made in the last several years, shut-down that hand-out to Libya.

In one last twist, we've learned that the dispersant being used, Corexit, is a product of NALCO, which is owned by George Soros, Al Gore, Goldman Saches and Warren Buffet - and is connected to the University of Chicago:

NALCO is associated with the University of Chicago Argonne program. The Obamas both worked for the University of Chicago.  UChicago Argonne received $164,000,000 in stimulus funds this past year and just added two new executives to its roster: one from NALCO, the other from the Department of Education.

If you dig a little deeper you will find NALCO is also associated with Warren Buffett, Maurice Strong, Al Gore, Soros, Appollo, Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, Hathaway Berkshire.

Warren Buffet/Hathaway Berkshire increased their holding in NALCO just last November. (Timing is everything). The dispersant chemical is known as Corexit. What it does is hold the oil below the water's surface. It is supposed to break up the spill into smaller pools. 

At this time, I believe Corexit is still the only dispersant allowed to be used in the BP oil spill. Its stock took an 18% jump after it became public that it was the sanctioned dispersant.

Is this a story? The best source is the Times Online article, in print about 45 days before al-Megrahi's release. Now well see if these New York and New Jersey Senators can get the job done and see a "real" investigation through to the end. It appears their star witness will be alive for awhile...maybe for ten years.

Bay of Rigs didn't begin leaking at the time of the oil spill. It goes all the way back to releasing the Lockerbie terrorist who was said to be dying. Could the oil perpetually abiding in our beautiful Gulf of Mexico be lingering because dispersants are where the money is, even though they seem not to be working? Wait till you hear who owns the company making the chemicals being dumped into our waters.

Here's the story on a fast  track. Pan Am 103 exploded over Lockerbie Scotland on December 21, 1988. Everyone aboard died - all 270, 180 Americans. Libyan Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi was convicted of planting the bomb and sentenced to life in prison.

BP and its employees donate $77,051.00 to the Obama campaign, and a couple of million to Democrats.

The bomber spent about 20 years of a life sentence in a Scottish prison.  After a controversial terminal prostate cancer diagnosis, he was sent back to Libya. Physicians said he had only three months to live.

That was August 20th 2009. He's still alive today. Many rumors about the real story, including the part the U.S. played.

September 2009:

The State Department notified lawmakers earlier this month of its intent to disburse $2.5 million in economic aid to Libya, including $400,000 for Qaddafi’s foundations. Of the $400,000  half will go to a foundation run by the leader’s son, Saif, and the other half to one run by his daughter, Aisha.

Republicans shut-down the $2.5 million Obama-Hillary Libyan scam.

In September 2009 the economic crisis still rages, "while government deficits are artificially showing quarterly GDP growth or stability after the free fall in Q1 of 2009, consumer spending is contracting due to massive unemployment and stagnation or reduction in real wages." The economic crisis still rages. And Hillary and Obama want to give Libya millions.

March 2010: BP CEO Tony Hayward sold 223,288 shares of his BP stock - approximately one-third of his holding. That timely sale saved him about $619,000 when BP stock plunged after the spill. Lucky guy. Reportedly he paid off the mortgage on his "mansion."

Fast forward to the BP Gulf oil spill, April 2010.

The real money is in the use of dispersements. There is a company called purchased NALCO. 

NALCO is based in Chicago with subsidiaries in Brazil, Russia, India, China and Indonesia.

It is toxic and banned in Europe. NALCO says they are using older and newer versions of Corexit in the Gulf. (Why would you need a newer version, if the old one was fine?)

There are big money and even bigger players in this scam. While they are letting the oil blow wide open into the Gulf, the stakes and profit rise. 

The dolphins, whales, manatees, sea turtles and fish suffocate and die. The coastal regions, salt marshes, tourist attractions and the shore front properties are being destroyed, possibly permanently. The air quality is diminished. The Gulf of Mexico fishing industry is decimated.

The stock of Corexit 9500 took an 18 percent jump after its use became public. Rodney F. Chase, former Deputy Group Chief Executive of BP is on the NALCO board of directors.

The moratorium on drilling was put in place. Our deep water rigs will move out of the Gulf. We can't stop it. We might not have the rigs back for years according to Obama's own panel of experts, who recommended we do not stop drilling.

On Obama's trip to the Grand Isle on the Louisiana coast, his motorcade passed a building adorned with his portrait reminiscent of posters of him during his presidential campaign. Instead of "hope" or "change," the words "what now?" were on his forehead.

This administration makes Watergate look like your kids birthday party. Follow the money to Obama's Bay of Rigs. (Sojourner, a reader at Maggie's Notebook left a tip in comments about this story - as I've said before, I love my readers.) Check out this blog talking about the fines BP will be hit with through the Clean Water Act, and why dispersants have been so handy for them. If the oil is "dispersed" it can't be counted.

Muammar Gaddafi Threatens U.S. and Swiss: BBC Hides the Story - Twice

Libya's Muammar Gaddafi threatened U.S. oil interests, and called for a boycott of Switzerland. That's the story in the BBC. While they told the story, they also hid it. And for a change, the United Nations is bringing the real story to the forefront.

The Swiss have banned Islamic minarets in their country. The BBC said Gaddafi called for Muslims to "boycott" Switzerland. How lucky can the Swiss get? What a good day...until the U.S. jumped in and the State Department's P.J. Crowley dismissed Gaddafi's comments as just "a lot of words..." Now Muammar is mad at the U.S., threatening U.S. oil firms over Crowley's words, and of course, Crowley is blathering all over himself to apologize. 

Col Gaddafi had criticised a Swiss vote against the building of minarets and urged Muslims to boycott the country.

Mr Crowley described it as "lots of words, not necessarily a lot of sense."

But that is not at all what Gaddafi said.

Here's how the BBC hid the truth and refused to use the "jihad" word that Gaddafi did use, and they hid the story not once, but twice.

In about the bottom third of the story,  Crowley explains that Col. Gaddafi called for an "economic boycott," not "an armed attack." Well, who said anything about "an armed attack," or "jihad?" Apparently, Gaddafi did, but the BBC has the words nowhere in their article EXCEPT under Gaddafi photo:

Col Gaddafi said Switzerland "deserved to be attacked through jihad."

Crowley is still apologizing...did not "intend to offend." "I apologise...." he said.

"I should have focused solely on our concern about the term jihad, which has since been clarified by the Libyan government," Mr Crowley added.

"I understand my personal comments were perceived as a personal attack on the president," he said.

So is Crowley apologizing for advising others to take Gaddafi's words lightly? or...what? He seems to be saying the U.S. focused on the "jihad" word, should not have, however, and should have understood that "jihad" meant an "economic boycott." What???

In another article, the BBC has this headline: UN deplores Gaddafi call for anti-Swiss "jihad." But no where is Gaddafi quoted as calling for Muslims to be "anti-Swiss." He calls for jihad.

"Let us wage jihad against Switzerland, Zionism and foreign aggression," he said.

"Any Muslim in any part of the world who works with Switzerland is an apostate, is against Muhammad, God and the Koran."

On a normal day, the story would be that Crowley apologizes for the U.S. when he certainly should not have, AND the U.N. actually stood up against Islamic jihad. Something they are loathe to do. But today, the story is the way the BBC reported two separate articles, both deceptively.

Abdelbaset Ali Mohamed al-Megrahi Alive 5 Months Later

The convicted Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset Ali Mohamed al-Megrahi is still alive three months after his release from a Scottish prison after cancer specialist Karol Sikora said he had only three months to live. See a video below of Lockerbie, actual footage immediately after the crash, and hear some of the resident who escaped death on the night of December 21st, 1988. Update 1-6-09: Still alive and counting 5 months later.

Scandal has erupted all around this "compassionate release." Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was charged and convicted of killing 270 people on December 21, 1988, including 35 Syracuse University students, when Pam Am Flight 103 exploded over the Scottish town of Lockerbie.

Amid outcries from the families of victims, Scotland released him to Libya on August 20th. Three months later, Senator Chuck Schumer is calling for Megrahi's return to the Scottish prison.

Speculations that Britain agreed to the release to further improve failing business relations with Libya, amounting to billions of pounds, has been denied, but numerous reports and even, correspondence, seems to verify that Scotland was just taking orders from Britain.

The British embassy and its consulates in the US received hundreds of letters and phone calls expressing hostility to the release.

Conservatives in the Scottish parliament are pressing MacAskill to publish Megrahi's medical papers as well as the latest updates on his health. Under the terms of the release Megrahi is required to update officials in Scotland every month via a video link on his medical status.

Bill Aitken, the Scottish Tory justice spokesman, said: "Megrahi lost all rights to patient confidentiality when he became Britain's worst mass murderer. Scotland is still sickened by the sight of his hero's return to Tripoli."

Note that there is no confirmation that Megrahi hooked up via video link.

Update 1-6-09: A few thoughts from Hot Air:

The West, however, has a lot of explaining to do — and not just the UK and Scotland.  The exchange of Megrahi for oil contracts shows everything wrong with handling terrorists as common criminals.  Megrahi was only available for the exchange because Scotland treated him as a murderer instead of a terrorist, and refused to put him to death in the accustomed manner for unlawful combatants at war.  Scotland can be forgiven that decision, given the inexperience we all had at the time of his capture.  The US has much less excuse for doing the same think with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, and the dozens of Yemenis that Obama seems keen on sending back to Yemen for even less than the UK got from Libya for Megrahi.

Lockerbie residents talk about this unbelievable event - one talks of the 44 bodies scattered in her backyard with more on her roof. This horrific act of terrorism brought only one man to prison. Al-Megrahi received a life sentence, only to be released 21 years later.

Reports are claiming that witnesses in the Lockerbie bombings were paid by the United States in exchange for the testimony of two brothers. The claims of bribes are said to have been released today by Abdelbaset al-Megrahi's lawyers. See videos below.

First, there are many reports of the online postings of proof of the bribes, but so far, I can find no actual links to the documents.

As a refresher, Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over the town of Lockerbie, Scotland on December 21, 1988, killing 270. Everyone on the flight died. Eleven people died on the ground.

There were 180 Americans aboard the plane, including 35 Syracuse University students. Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, a citizen of Libya, was the only person convicted of the bombings. I'm unsure of the nuances of these reports. Al-Megrahi is said to have given up his appeal, evidently based on notes in diaries of investigators, which were supposedly released online today, in exchange for his freedom.

This report says that Libya paid British physicians to give their opinion about the Libyan's state-of-health:

Cancer specialist Karol Sikora and two others received £100 an hour to consider how long they believed Abdelbaset Al Megrahi had to live.
Professor Sikora admitted yesterday that although he initially thought Megrahi could live for as long as 18 months, he was 'encouraged' to conclude he would die from prostate cancer within three months.

This is important as it is the amount of time under which Scottish law allows someone to be freed on compassionate grounds.

The story released to the world was that al-Megrahi was terminally ill with cancer and the Scots sent him home to Libya, out of compassion, to die peacefully at home with his loved ones. It was just the right thing to do, don't you know.

So, is the intimation that terrible things were about to be released about the U.S. and bribes to put al-Megrahi in prison - and the way that got handled is for al-Megrahi to drop his appeal in exchange for going home? But the "diaries and notebooks" (unofficial notebooks) were released anyway? If that's the case, it didn't work because someone is talking, and of course they would. Here is what is said to have constituted the payments:

The documents published online by Megrahi's lawyers today show that the US Department of Justice (DoJ) was asked to pay $2m to Tony Gauci, the Maltese shopkeeper who gave crucial evidence at the trial suggesting that Megrahi had bought clothes later used in the suitcase that allegedly held the Lockerbie bomb.

The DoJ was also asked to pay a further $1m to his brother, Paul Gauci, who did not give evidence but played a major role in identifying the clothing and in "maintaining the resolve of his brother". The DoJ said their rewards could be increased and that the brothers were also eligible for the US witness protection programme, according to the documents.

The previously secret payments were uncovered by the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission (SCCRC), which returned Megrahi's conviction to the court of appeal in 2007 as a suspected miscarriage of justice. Many references were in private diaries kept by the detectives involved, Megrahi's lawyers said, but not their official notebooks. The SCCRC was unable to establish exactly how much the brothers received under the DoJ's "reward-for-justice" programme but found it was after Megrahi's trial and his first appeal in 1992 was thrown out.

There is talk of "contradictory evidence."

Two identification experts hired by Megrahi's appeal team said the police and prosecution breached the rules on witness interviews, using "suggestive" lines of questioning and allowing "irregular" identification line-ups.

There is only one thing we know at this point, and that is Abdelbaset Al-Megrahi, who was head of the Libyan Arab Airlines and a Libyan intelligence officer at the time of the bombing, is still alive, living with family, and 270 persons are dead.

Saif al-Islam is the son of Muammar Ghaddafi, the leader of the Libyan people and head of the welcome wagon for convicted Libyan terrorist, known as the Lockerbie bomber, Abdel Basset al-Megrahi.

Saif al-Islam is praising the Brits for making an energy deal that allowed 57-year old Megrahi to come home to Tripoli. Colonel Gaddafi is praising Queen Elizabeth. The UK is a tad upset. Pan Am flight 103 exploded over the town of Lockerbie on December 21, 1988, killing 270 people, including 11 on the ground. Megrahi is reported to have lived in relative luxury for a few of his short 8 years in prison, while housed in the Barlinnie prison in Glasgow:

Megrahi was segregated in a high-security area dubbed "Gaddafi's Cafe", where there was said to be a "sitting room" and kitchen where Halal food was specially prepared.

His wife and children are said to have moved to the "outskirts of Glasgow so they could visit him. Makes one wonder how they got back to Tripoli. We saw Meghrai in his Nike hat and jog suit walk the stairs to board Ghaddafi's personal airplane, but no family was in sight. The Lockerbie victims arrived home in caskets. Saif is the second oldest of Ghaddafi's seven sons. He is fluent in English, German and French. This report says he has a PhD:

"in governance and international relations from the London School of Economics and is also said to be an architect with his own agency in Tripoli, having studied architecture in Vienna.

UK Business Secretary Lord Mandelson is in the spotlight. Sources say he met with Saif al-Islam one week before Megrahi was released. Mendelson says there was only a "fleeting conversation about the prisoner," but Ghaddafi upped the tension:

Mr Gaddafi told Libyan TV his case was raised during talks over oil and gas and reportedly claimed that the issue had been raised repeatedly by Britain's former prime minister Tony Blair.
"In all commercial contracts, for oil and gas with Britain, (Megrahi) was always on the negotiating table," Mr Gaddafi told Libya's Al Mutawassit channel.

The U.S. was very quiet about Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber's release. There were no strong statements from the Oval Office until the deed was done and the celebrations began - the hugs, the hand kissing, the cheering crowds. President Obama was "disturbed." It would be unbearable to find that America cut a deal of any kind. As Jihad Watch points out, this is one more reason for the urgent need for energy independence.

The former Libyan secret service agent is imprisoned in Scotland. The Scots may release this killer on "compassionate" concerns. The Scottish government says Megrahi's case is under "ongoing review." Thirty-five Syracuse University students were aboard that flight on December 21, 1988, with a total of 180 Americans dying in the fiery crash. Arlington National Cemetery has a memorial ceremony each year, and Syracuse University has an annual remembrance service at exactly 2:03 p.m. each December 21st. U.S. Boycott: Durban II U.N. Conference Boycott

The State Department has announced that the U.S. will not attend the notorious U.N. racism conference in Geneva next week, known as Durban II. By not attending, we are boycotting, to be exact.

According to the documents stating the purpose of this get-together, the goal is to find ways to "combat and eradicate racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance." The first problems is this document is about the same as the one originated in 2001. It is fair to note that since 2001, the U.N. has become more racist than ever within it's own seething body. For starters, the planning committee has designated Iran to preside as the Vice-Chair, Libya as the Chair of the "Main Committee," meaning Libya runs the conference, and Cuba is to be the Rapporteur - all three pillars of stellar human rights. (Let me just hoist myself up off the floor here).

 The latest draft calls for "Condemnation of foreign occupation." That means Israel residing on the land Palestinians call their own. The short story is that the League of Nations gave the land to Israel. By the time the Nation of Israel was to be formed, the Brits colluded with the Islamic Mufti of Jerusalem, sliced out a large portion of Israel's land and gave it to the nomadic Muslims, many of whom had previously lived side-by-side with the Jews. The Jews accepted it all, formed their now tiny Nation and went on with building their homeland.

The Palestinians were not going to accept Israel in their midst however, and they continually attacked the Israeli's over the border. Finally, in 1967 Israel took a portion of their land back - a short war and it was over, sort of.

To the U.N., that's occupation - and Israel is condemned for it. Getting right off to a terrible start, the document actually supports the document put forth in 2001. These documents supporting the abolishment of racism want us to be "one human family rich in diversity....," everyone free and equal and all that.

The problem is, the Muslim world hates the Jews. After they finish with the Jews (because they believe they will) then they will ramp-up the hate of all Westerners even more than they do right now. Nowhere in this document does it call for the Muslim world to accept Israel. How can these lofty goals - for eliminating the Xenophobia and Racial Discrimination - and "Related Intolerance," and such, be met when Muslims will not accept Israel? That's the bottom line.

 The document is full of itself when talking about racism. It is all about racism - except when talking about Jews. As with all U.N. documents, this one "acknowledges," and "confirms," and "reaffirms," and "supports," about everything but Israel. Durban II "invites" Governments and law enforcement to "collect reliable information on hate crimes." It urges States to Punish violent, racist and xenophobic activities based on Nazi, neo-Facist and other violent national ideologies."

I don't like Nazi's either. I don't like crime whatever the color or motive. What about suicide bombers in Israel. What about suicide bombers in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's all ideology and it's all very violent - and it is all okay for the Muslims.

 The U.N. wants us to remember the days of slave trade, apartheid, colonialism and genocide - never forget it, the document says. Does that include Arab genocide against African Muslims? How many have to die before Arab genocide can be called what it is? How many have to die in Darfur before we hold those responsible, who are actually responsible.

Okay, this document does say that "the Holocaust must never be forgotten." This is good. Why is Iran still a member nation of the U.N. - and now the Vice-Chair of the whole confab? Now we get to immigration. We are called upon to "protect the human rights of all migrants regardless of their immigration status," we are to eliminate all "intolerance at country border entry areas," they want our border guards to be trained "with a view to sensitizing them to racism."

The U.N. is calling upon all politicians and law enforcement officials to stop negative stereotyping of non-citizens - attitudes "that have led to xenophobic violence, killings and the targeting of migrants, refugees and asylum-seekers." In other words, we needn't protect our borders. This is one world, after all.

 We are called upon to provide Universal health care for everyone, regardless of their legal status - including preventative measures. We are not to profile, we are to teach our children not to be racist, we are to integrate all minorities into our politics and we are to fund "civil society organizations." In No. 128 on page 16, the U.N. wants the Federation Internationale de Football Association, to introduce a visible theme on non-racism in football (does that mean soccer?).

The hope is that a non-racism theme will carry on through all "international sporting bodies." Member states are encouraged to increase their voluntary contributions to the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The problem is, we have no Commissioners for Human Rights who give a fig for real human rights. Out of the 17 pages pages and 142 paragraphs in the pdf, almost every goal could be an excellent goal, except that the Islamic world will not honor it.

Yes, we should protect women and girls and boys from human trafficking. This document won't do it. Yes, we should not discriminate, but nothing in this document protects the law abiding from the illegal. Nothing returns the rule-of-law to the legal citizen. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) within the U.N. is just festering with hate, and well, how is the world to join together against "Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance?"

 You know, it just can't get done because countries continue to show up to these U.N. Bash Israel get-togethers. No one should be in Geneva for this conference next week, and at least, my country will not be there - this time, and hopefully no deals have been made under the table. What's up with Germany, though? As of today, it is reported that The U.S., Canada, Italy and Israel all plan to boycott. I'm betting that President Obama had to buy U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice one of those fancy new hybrid cars, or something - to keep her away from all the love at UN Geneva next week.
