President Agnostic about Middle Class Tax Hikes: Middle Class Tax Hikes Coming

To Barack Obama, tax hikes are next to Godliness. Or maybe tax hikes and God are equals. Our President, the rock star of magnificent teleprompter oratory, says he is "agnostic" about raising taxes on the Middle Class...those with incomes under $250,000.

The President has seen a severe drop in his job performance, mostly due to his lack of fiscal irresponsibility. Not-to-be-daunted by what "the people" think, he is breaking his campaign promise to keep the Middle Class off of his taxing merry-go-round.

The whole point of it is to make sure that all ideas are on the table," Obama said. "So what I want to do is to be completely agnostic, in terms of solutions."

This gives new meaning to the Obama chant: "Yes we Can!

Joe the Plumber was right. Remember when Obama told him (Joe Wurzelbacher) this, while promising no new taxes on the Middle Class:

It's not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance at success, too. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody.

Frank Ricci is Sotomayor Target: Frank Ricci the new Joe the Plumber

Frank Ricci is the New Haven, Connecticut firefighter who just had his reverse discrimination lawsuit upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court. The decision brought to light Obama's Supreme Court nominee, Sonia Sotomayor's decision against Ricci in a District Appeal Court ruling. The People for the American Way are stepping in to discredit Ricci. Don't you know they would?

The City of New Have paid $100,000 to a testing firm to come up with an exam "completely free of any racial bias." Ricci took a test for promotion along with other firefighters. Nineteen Whites and 1 Hispanic (considered White and Hispanic) passed the test but in the end, was denied promotion because no Blacks and only one Hispanic passed the exam. There were no promotions for anyone!

The city gave the test to 118 candidates, 27 of whom were black. None of the black candidates scored high enough to qualify for the 15 immediately available positions. All 20 of the plaintiffs qualified. After a series of raucous meetings, the city civil service board decided to scrap the test results and promote no one.

The firefighters filed a reverse discrimination case that was heard by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, on which Sonia Sotomayor sat. Sotomayor and a majority of the Appeals court sided with the city of New Haven that the city had a valid concern that had the White firefighters been promoted, the city may have been sued for civil rights violations, by the Black firefighters who failed the test. The case made it's way to the Supremes and in June in a 5-4 vote, the Court overturned 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Sotomayor's confirmation for the highest court in the land begins on Capitol Hill on Monday, July 13th. Ricci is expected to testify in front of the Judiciary Committee, on behalf of Republicans. People for the America Way, and reportedly other unnamed sources are "discreetly" urging "journalists" to look into Frank Ricci and his "litigious background." In 1995, Ricci filed a lawsuit against the city of New Haven for discrimination related to his dyslexia. Another story is making the rounds of Ricci being fired by a fire department in Middletown, Ct because Ricci reported safety concerns. That fire department was fined for safety violations but the lawsuit went nowhere.

With his awards for bravery, some 17 years of fire department service and history of overcoming dyslexia, Ricci has become a compelling human character in the Sotomayor confirmation drama. Senate Republicans have summoned him, along with Lt. Ben Vargas of the New Haven Fire Department, as two of their 14 witnesses next week.

For information about the test and the positions that went unfilled, read this. So what this boils down is a hit job on Frank Ricci. The Left plans to turn Frank Ricci into the new Joe the Plumber. You probably remember Joe Wurzelbacher, known as Joe the Plumber, asking the campaigning Senator Barack Obama "you are going to raise my taxes, arent' you?" In that moment, Mr. Wurzelbacher's life changed. With the camera rolling, he told Obama that he was a plumber and might be buying a company that would make $250,000+ a year. Obama told Joe that "spreading the wealth around" was a good thing. Blogs on the Left and the mainstream media had a field day. Accusations against Joe flew: he wasn't registered to vote, he was a liar and then Politico.com reported that Wurzelbacher had a lien against his property. From Michelle Malkin:

After Wurzelbacher told Katie Couric that Obama's rhetorical tap dance was “almost as good as Sammy Davis, Jr.,” the inevitable cries of “bigotry” followed. (There are now tens of thousands of hits on the Internet for “Joe the Plumber racist.”)

From Sderot: Cease-Fire? Rockets And A Plumber Named Joe

Cross posted from Monkey in the Middle by Findalis Every day for 8 years rockets have fallen in the Western Negev. The primary focus of these rockets has been the city of Sderot. Sderot is less than a mile from Gaza, and Hamas has made it a focus of its attacks in an effort to drive the citizens out of it and annex it into Gaza. Founded in 1951, Sderot attracted settlers from all walks of Israeli culture. Before 1990, Sderot was noted for cultural achievements. It was the center for underground music and is best noted as the birth place of Israeli poet Shimon Adaf. Here now is the news from Sderot:

Cease-fire or Please-fire? By Rob Cohen As the conflict in Gaza entered its 19th day (or 8 years and 19 days depending on your perspective), the world increases its pressure for cease-fire talks to stop being talks and become reality. According to reports Hamas are getting closer to sitting down at the table and have provided Egyptian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Abul Gheit, with detailed proposals of their demands. In turn the Egyptians, appear to not be entirely comfortable with all elements of the plan, according to Al-Jazeerah.net, saying that, “We will tell the Israelis what we have obtained from our brothers Hamas," "There are Hamas positions that we will discuss with the Israelis in the context of all the elements of [Egyptian] President [Hosni] Mubarak's initiative. We hope that things will move forwards but we will not enter into details." Talk has emerged of a week long humanitarian cease fire but it isn’t clear where this idea originated. Reports in the Jerusalem Post suggest a clear rift between Israeli PM, Ehud Olmert and Defence Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Tzippi Livni. With Barak seemingly floating the idea of a longer ceasefire through less than official lines. It is becoming apparent that the forthcoming elections are encroaching into the way the conflict may be managed by Israel’s leaders, and a cease-fire may be being viewed as a please-fire, with votes up for grabs. Pensioners Minister, Rafi Eitan, had foreseen the possibility of the politicisation of the conflict from the outset and called for a postponement of the elections until after the conflict had ended. Thus far those calls have been ignored. “The people of Israel must be given an opportunity to vote for their new leaders with clear heads, it is impossible to make rational judgements while the country is being hit with missiles and while its sons and daughters are involved in defending its citizens from attack” Said Noam Bedein, Director of the Sderot Media Centre. A cease-fire will just embolden Hamas and give it a chance to regroup, rearm and attack. Any cease-fire must come with the release of Gilad Schalit and a total cessation of all rocket fire. Without that, a cease-fire only benefits Hamas and Israelis will have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Qassam causes heavy damage to Sderot home By Anav Silverman Rocket attacks continued against Israel on Thursday, as an Egyptian brokered ceasefire was being discussed in Cairo. Palestinian terrorists fired over 25 rockets from the Gaza Strip throughout Thursday morning. Six Israelis were severely wounded in Be'er Sheva, including a woman and a seven-year old boy, when Palestinian terrorists fired two Grad rockets which exploded in the city. One rocket directly hit a car. Most of the Palestinian rockets fired on Thursday were launched in the early morning between 7-8 am. A Grad rocket landed in Gedera, causing no casualties or damages. Earlier in the morning, a Qassam rocket slammed into a house in Sderot, causing heavy damage to the home and to the cars parked nearby. The occupants of the house, an elderly couple who have lived in Sderot for eight years, raced to their bomb shelter as soon as they heard the Tzeva Adom (Code Red), the siren warning of rocket attacks coming from Gaza. The husband saw a shower of glass exploding everywhere from where he stood in the bomb shelter and understood that the rocket had hit their home. Read more and view the video here.

The rockets haven't stopped. Their range is getting larger each week. Pretty soon Tel Aviv, and Dimona will come under rocket attack. And the world still says nothing. Their silence is deafening. But not the silence of Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, better known as Joe the Plumber. He is in Sderot coving Operation Cast Lead. His words are the words of the average American. He hasn't been bought by Saudi Oil Money, nor has any friends in the PLO or Hamas. He speaks for Middle America, with common sense and wisdom.

Joe visited Sderot with the Government Press Office director, Danny Seaman. Samuel Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber, hit the headlines during the US presidential election for giving it straight to Barak Obama on his tax policies. Now it seems he has a new role of reporting on the world’s affairs for the world’s “Average Joes” - people who want it said straight "I want the average American Joes to understand the story here from the point of view of someone like them," he said. And Joe is angry! Having had a tour of Sderot by Noam Bedein, Director of the Sderot Media Centre, seeing some of the surrounding areas and having spoken to some of the residents of the area, he is very angry. He is angry at what has been happening here for the past eight years, he is angry at what innocent citizens have had to endure, he is angry at the way the world condemns the actions of a democratic state in defending its citizens, he is angry at the Israeli Government for waiting so long before taking action and he is angry with the way the media has covered the story. So angry that when he got his opportunity, surrounded by the world’s press on a hill overlooking Gaza, he took the opportunity to remind them that the reporting needs to properly reflect the situation here, that this isn’t just a story about the problems the Palestinians in Gaza face. This is a story, about more than 1 million Israelis, trying to go about their daily peaceful existence under constant fear of rocket attack. "I know if I were a citizen here, I'd be damned upset." He commented. “I’m a peace loving man, but when someone hits me, I'm going to unload on the boy. And if the rest of the world doesn't understand that, then I'm sorry." What Joe the Plumber Knows that Shep Smith Ignores: Israel

Somewhere yesterday (10/28/08) at a McCain rally, a Jewish senior citizen stepped up to the Mike and told Joe the Plumber that he thought "a vote for Obama was a vote for the death of Israel." Joe said he could agree to that. The story has morphed into Shepard Smith's (Fox News) indignant outrage directly at Joe the Plumber. How dare Joe put that dangerous idea in the heads of silly Americans. Joe said he had his opinions, and McCain could have his and Americans can research and make up their own minds. Smith did his best to skewer Joe and intimated that Joe's opinions were formed from the "hateful things spread all over the internet." Smith shook his head in dismay and disgust and in theory declared that Obama has taken up the mantle of the Jewish people, and no one could be more concerned about Israel than Obama and, oh yes,...he quoted Obama: "nothing is more important than the U.S. friendship with Israel," and then Smith said "Obama would back Israel every moment of every day." Here's the thing: Many of us believe that Barack Obama is not as concerned about Israel's welfare as he portends to be - and that uncertainty is a major caution. Perhaps we are wrong, but if we are, we don't know that, and neither does Shep Smith. Joe refused to give the reasons for his opinions, except in general terms which were: Obama's actions and his associations - and those actions and associations are what Shepard Smith, sitting at his very important news desk, chooses to ignore - or perhaps "news" has nothing to do with his reporting - perhaps Smith just doesn't know the news. While I can't put words in Joe's mouth, I bet just a few of my own observations may be on Joe's list of Obama's actions and associations. (all the hyperlinks should open in a separate window, allowing continued reading) 1) In 2006 Obama published his book, Audacity of Hope. In his chapter titled Race, he talks about immigrants, and says that he is often invited to speak to immigrant groups. ..."I am often quizzed on my foreign policy views - where do I stand on Cyprus, say, or the future of Taiwan?..."

Whenever I appear before immigrant audiences, I can count on some good-natured ribbing from my staff after my speech; according to them, my remarks always follow a three-part structure: "I am your friend," "[Fill in the home country] has been a cradle of civilization," and "You embody the American dream."

Then he discusses the different tone taken as he met with Arab and Pakistani Americans after 9/11:

They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them [Muslims] should the political wind shift in an ugly direction.

This RightTruth post is packed with information, including more Obama quotes. 2) One of Obama's unofficial foreign policy advisors is Zbigniew Brzezinski, the former National Security Adviser to the antisemitic former President Jimmy Carter. Newsweek reports that Brzezinski's name is "toxic in the American Jewish community." The next few items involve Barack Obama's church...and NO, Shep, we cannot separate Obama from his "former" church. He gave his money and his time to further the collaborations and the missions of this church. We are facing an election and many of us are facing these truths: 3) Obama's church of 20 years, Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC), practices the very antisemitic Black Liberation Theology (BLT). The short story here is that BLT leans far more to Islam than it does to Judiasm. 4) Obama's church of 20 years, TUCC, through the church magazine, Trumpet, gave Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam leader, a Lifetime Achievement award for "epitomized greatness!" Farrakhan has often excoriated the Jews as liars and thieves, and is accused of worse, to which he replied: "The Jews don't like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that's a good name. Hitler was a very great man." Obama says he did not agree with giving the "greatness" award to Farrakhan, but in an interview with the late Tim Russert in February 2008, Obama lamely attempts to shield Wright by saying it was the Trumpet Newsmagazine that bestowed the award and not the church. This is not a minor point - and his point is wrong: the magazine is Wright's baby; he is the founder and CEO and his daughter is the publisher. 5) While a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pastor Jeremiah Wright printed the manifesto of Hamas co-founder, Musa Abu Marzook. Marzook, a man of many aliases, is the founder of of CAIR's (Council on American Islamic Relations) parent organization and the Holyland Foundation. The U.S. Treasury describes him this way:

His activities include directing and coordinating terrorist acts by HAMAS against soldiers and civilians in Israel and the West Bank and Gaza. Marzouk maintains relationships with other terrorist organizations.

Wright put Marzook's manifesto, retitled A Fresh View of Palestine on the Pastor's page of TUCC's Sunday bulletin in July 2007. Read the transcription. In the manifesto, as you read it, you can almost feel Marzook shrug his shoulders as he says he doesn't "trouble" himself with recognizing Israel, and as you read it, you may feel ambivalent toward it, but remember this: The Hamas Charter is in tenacious control of the citizens of Palestine and there is no plan to ever recognize Israel - in fact, the Hamas Charters says:

The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews),...

Marzook moved to the United States to pursue a Ph.D. in engineering.[3] After leaving the United States in 1992, he moved to Jordan where he lived until being expelled in 1995.[4] While living in Jordan, Marzook is suspected of having played a significant role in planning and coordinating numerous terrorist attacks within Israel.[5] On July 25, 1995 after his expulsion from Jordan, Marzook was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, where he was detained by authorities until being returned to Jordan in 1997.[6] Following a nationwide crackdown on HAMAS activities within the country, he was once again deported by Jordanian authorities in 1999.[7]

Read more on Marzook. 6) Obama, in a speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, said Jerusalem "must remain undivided." The Palestinian Authority hotly rejected the statement and Obama quickly maintained that he had a hands-off position and the parties must solve the issue themselves. There he goes again...saying what the crowd wants to hear. Naive and immature. 7) Senator Obama has a relationship with Rashid Khalidi, Professor of Middle East Studies at Columbia University, where he and the Obamas met and became friendly. The LA Times is refusing to release a tape of the event described below where much lauding of Palestine and denigrating of Israel is alleged to have transpired. Here's a snippet from an LA Times report:

It was a celebration of Palestinian culture -- a night of music, dancing and a dash of politics. Local Arab Americans were bidding farewell to Rashid Khalidi, an internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights, who was leaving town for a job in New York. A special tribute came from Khalidi's friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking. His many talks with the Khalidis, Obama said, had been "consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. . . . It's for that reason that I'm hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation -- a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid's dinner table," but around "this entire world."... And yet the warm embrace Obama gave to Khalidi, and words like those at the professor's going-away party, have left some Palestinian American leaders believing that Obama is more receptive to their viewpoint than he is willing to say.

Obama basically repeats the man's information...stalling for time, as he often does - you can his deception. Also in this video, other sources speak to Khalidi's antisemitic background, including arranging the recent speech of Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, at Columbia University. Video: Thanks to Live Leak 8) Obama had significant dealings with convicted felon Syrian-American Tony Rezko. At least one of those "dealings" was immensely profitable to Barack and Michelle Obama - and there was Rezko's fundraiser for Obama also. Rezko was raised in Syria in a Catholic home. Ali Baghdadi offered to post bail (his home as collateral), and did post some portion, for Rezko in April 2008. Baghdadi is a pro-Palestinian activist, who GUESS WHAT, has also been published in the Trinity United Christian Church Sunday bulletin. In that article, Baghdadi labeled Israel:

"an apartheid" regime and claimed the Jewish state worked on an "ethnic bomb" that kills "blacks and Arabs."

There are many links to TUCC's bulletin, but no surprise, they've been removed from the web. Sweetness & Light reported it first and has a transcript. 9) Obama's connections to Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga. It's a violent story, and Senator Obama campaigned in Kenya for Odinga in 2007. Odinga agreed in writing the the Muslim Leadership Forum to hand over portions of Kenya to Sharia Law, including an admission that Islam is the true religion, and subjecting non-Muslim women in these areas to Islamic Law. It is a very ugly story...and one you should know if you are planning to vote for Barack Obama. His connection goes way back with Odinga. Obama's father and Odinga's fathers were very close. Odinga claims they are cousins. Here are some critical links to the Obama-Odinga story. If you have time for only post on this subject, watch this video which tells you what you need to know. It is a violent news account of the violence of Muslims against Christians. Odinga is supposedly not a follower of Islam but his followers are.
