Rand Paul Eliot Spitzer: Spitzer Pushes Pay Cut for Medicare Doctors

Client No. 9, also known as Eliot Spitzer, interviewed Kentucky's new Senator-elect, Rand Paul. Paul is a medical doctor and has said physicians pay for treatment of Medicare patients should not be cut unless all federal payrolls are cut. Spitzer thought he had Paul on the end of his pitchfork after showing the trillions spent on medicare, medicaid and social security.  See the video below.

Paul pointed out that further cuts in physician's pay would be on top of the already-implemented 50% cut. Spitzer wasn't interested and offered no follow-up. Then he tried to broadside Paul by asking what his income was as a physician treating predominately Medicare patients. Paul didn't skip a beat, and suggested if Spitzer wanted to talk about Rand's past, perhaps they might also talk about Spitzer's own (which undoubtedly would include the disgraced Governor of New York State being outed as "Client No. 9" in a prositution scandal which brought his resignation as governor).

Rand Paul will be a conservative voice to be reckoned with when he hits the Senate. It's a good thing.

Crist Accuses Rubio of Turning His Back on Family Video

Charlie Crist gives Goofy a bad name. Marco Rubio is an American with Cuban-American parents. Rubio's father recently passed away. Rubio is the Republican nominee for a Florida Senate Seat, and Goofy Charlie Crist the Independent candidate for the same seat.

How do we know Charlie Crist has fully transformed into a Democrat? He set himself up as the authority on Hispanic authenticity in the debate with Marco Rubio and Kendrick Meek last night on the Tampa Bay Fox affiliate. In fact, Crist goes so far that the other Democrat in the race winds up objecting to the attack after Marco Rubio’s strong rebuttal. Crist attempts to scold Rubio for “turning his back on his Hispanic family,” and then tries to weasel out of it by saying he just read it in a newspaper:

It’s bad enough playing identity politics when one is of the identity in question. It’s doubly offensive when it comes from someone who shares nothing of the ethnicity they purport to represent.

Isn’t Crist the candidate that just “turned his back” on the political party he led in this state only because Rubio was kicking his rear end in primary polling, and then spent the next several months reversing almost every policy position he ever held? Crist has the nerve to lecture Rubio on political ambition?

Chris Christie Reconsiders Killing Hudson River Tunnel Project

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced this week that his final decision was to kill the Hudson River Tunnel project, because...you know...the state and New Jersey-ites simply cannot afford it at this time. Oh but wait! The feds got to him and now he says he will reconsider, after meeting with U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.

LaHood put some options on the table, don't cha know. No doubt, none of them assure New Jersey residents there will be no increased costs via the tunnel. Projected cost overruns from $2.3 billion to $5.3 billion are predicted, for the project known as ARC. Still yet, Christie said this:

"The fact that the ARC project is not financially viable and is expected to dramatically exceed its current budget remains unchanged," the governor said in a statement today.

"However, this afternoon Secretary LaHood presented several options to potentially salvage a trans Hudson tunnel project. At the secretary’s request, I’ve agreed to have executive director of NJ Transit Jim Weinstein and members from his team work with U.S. Department of Transportation staff to study those options over the next two weeks.” 

At a news conference this afternoon following the stunning development, U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) said the governor and the U.S. Department of Transportation will come to the negotiating table to revive the tunnel project.

Apparently, the Hudson River Tunnel will be home to two rail tunnels and will lead to a new train station in New York City, 200 feet below 34th Street between 6th and 8th Avenues.

Increased bridge, tunnel and rail fares are funding the project. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in June 2009.

The feds (taxpayers everywhere, you...me) supplied $3 billion in federal funding earmarks. I do not live in New Jersey, but fellow blogger, Chris at WyBlog does. Read what he had to say about the tunnel cancellation, before this "reconsideration" was announced.

Jerry Brown Calls Meg Whitman a Whore

Jerry Brown or someone in his campaign called Meg Whitman, Brown's Republican opponent for the California governorship, a whore.

The audio comes from a phone call from Brown to the Los Angeles Police Protective League. Brown was asking for Police support for his candidacy. He left a voicemail, but when Brown thought he had ended the call, the voicemail recorded the following conversation. Would love to know who leaked this.

"Do we want to put an ad out? … That I have been warned if I crack down on pensions, I will be — that they'll go to Whitman, and that's where they'll go because they know Whitman will give 'em, will cut them a deal, but I won't," Brown said.

At that point, a voice — either that of Brown or a second person — can be heard saying: "What about saying she's a whore?"

"Well, I'm going to use that," Brown says. "It proves you've cut a secret deal to protect the pensions."

Nice. It appears that the aide, or in my opinion the voice is that of Brown, suggested actually saying Whitman's "a whore," and his boss, Jerry Brown, said he would "use that." Hear it at about the 2 minute marker below. Just heard Martha MacCallum on Fox News say it was Brown's aide using the "whore" word, but I think she's wrong.

Making deals with unions is usually Democrat territory. This time, a union, the police no-less, cut a deal with a Republican and funneled $450,000 to Whitman's campaign. I'm puzzled at the soundness of the "deal," but will say this, if any pension plan is enhanced, it should be that of the police and firefighters.

Mark Turner Correspondance with Governor Charlie Crist

As many of you may know, I've been off the computer for about two weeks due to extreme eye strain. Since that time, my blogging friend Mark Turner has been moved from a hospital to a jail facility and then on September 28th to a prison at Lake Butler in Chipley, Florida. According to Mark's wife, he will stay at the Lake Butler facility for an unspecified time while he is "acclimated to prison." Find links to the background on Mark at the end of this article.

In the meantime, I have received from a close of friend of Mark, a copy of what his friends and I have referred to as "Mark's book." The "book" has been used on numerous occasions, and particularly as documentation for Florida Governor, Charlie Crist.

In one of Mark's conversations with Crist's impotent office on November 5, 2009, he was advised to get a "complaint form" from the Ecambia (Florida) County Sheriff's office (ECSO). After doing so, Mark notified Dustin Fusillo in Crist's office that he was concerned about the "Disclaimer" printed on the complaint form:

Any Person who is a participant in an internal investigation, including the complainant...who willfully discloses any information...not limited to the identy of the officer under investigation...before such complaint becomes a public record, commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in S.775.082 or 775.083. "Florida Statute 112.538 (Penalty: up to 1 year in jail and/or up to $1000 fine."

So imagine that you are being wrongfully sued by a state prosecutor or have been wrongfully convicted at the behest of your state's prosecutor, and you appeal to your Governor's office for help. The Governor's office advises you to obtain a complaint form from your country Sheriff's office and to execute that complaint form. Then imagine that doing so means a certain prison sentence. From Mark's letter to Crist:

There is more to the Disclaimer that threatens and concerns me but as you can read, by me signing the Complaint Form, I am guaranteed a free ride to prison. Remember, they arrested me because I civilly sued Pete Moore of Pete Moore Chevrolet for $36 Million. This civil lawsuit is WHY I was arrested. Therefore I am awaiting your written response before I sign and sent the complaint form. 

What would you do? What could you do? Mark ended his letter to Charlie Crist with this:

I am requesting an Executive Investigation into the offices held by those mentioned above. If this evidence I provide is not significant enough for an investigation, how many people do I need to come forward to launch one? I have them lined u because of my website www.markturnedandfriends.com. If you Google: Mark Turner and any of the above mentioned people, you will see that I have the support. Governor Crist, the State Attorney's Office offered me as little as 10 months with no restitution or face 90 years. I have included this document as well. Am I that big a threat, or that little a threat?  (signed Sincerely, Mark Turner).

Needless to say no "Executive Investigation" was launched, even though Mark provided a wealth of documentation to Crist's office.

Neal Cavuto Chris Christie: New Jersey Loses $400M Education Grant - Payback for Removing a Democrat Governor

Perhaps you heard last week that the State of New Jersey lost a $400M education grant due to a clerical mistake. New Jersey's 'Race to the Top' application included one incorrect piece of paper. The New Jersey Department of Education erroneously submitted 2010 to 2011 numbers, rather than the requested 2008 - 2009 numbers. Out of 1,000 pages of application and 700 pages of indices, there was a one-page error. Christie asks "does anybody in Washington D.C. have a lick of sense?" Of course, the answer is "NO." This is what happens in a Democrat administration when you have the audacity to remove a Democrat governor from office. Carly Fiorina Leads Barbara Boxer by 5 Points: Jerry Brown Meg Whitman in Dead Heat

Carly Fiorina, a California Republican has a 5 point lead over incumbent and far-left Progressive Senator Barbara Boxer. The same CBS5 poll shows Meg Whitman in a dead heat race with Jerry Brown for California governor.

The CBS 5 poll, conducted by the research firm SurveyUSA, showed Fiorina edging Boxer 47 percent to 42 percent, compared to a CBS 5 poll one month ago showing Fiorina over Boxer 47 to 45 percent.

The poll results indicated Fiorina's support was essentially unchanged among men and women, young and old, white and Hispanic while Boxer had lost small ground among men, younger voters, and independents. 

The poll also showed Fiorina tripling her lead in the Central Valley, from seven points one month ago to 21 points in this latest poll. 

Meanwhile, the CBS 5 poll has gubernatorial candidates Whitman and Brown at 44 and 43 percent, respectively, effectively even within the poll's 4.1 percent error margin. Compared to a CBS 5 poll one month ago, Whitman is down two percent, while, Brown is up four percent. 

According to the pollsters, Brown gained ground among women over the past month, while Whitman leads among men. More Democrats have also moved toward Brown over the past month; 74 percent of Democrats voted for Brown versus 64 percent in the previous poll. 78 percent of Republicans vote for Whitman, unchanged from last month. 

A note about Barbara Boxer: As a Senator and a the chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee did an astonishing thing, broke a written committee rule, and passed a cap and trade bill out of committee:

[Jim] Inhofe (R-OK) said this action by Boxer (D-CA) is "history-making...has never been done before" and is "unprecedented."

According to Inhofe, who is the ranking committee minority member, a bill should have two minority party (Republican) members present, before a bill can leave committee and be sent to the Senate floor. The Washington Post reported, before Boxer's action, that she was considering using "a simple majority" which would not require the presence of the minority.

So, a bill got out of committee without the the quorum necessary. It was blatant. It was fraud on the American people. Let's put Carly Fiorina in the Senate and send Babs Boxer home.

Is Jan Brewer Anti-Immigrant or is Barack Obama Anti-America?

Barack Obama says Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is "anti-immigrant." That is just a despicable lie and this anti-America President needs to be called out on it.  He says people wanting "to make a name for themselves... [Jan Brewer]" by actually following Federal and State laws to send illegals home are "anti-immigrate." I don't know a single person who want to do away with "immigration." I know many not wanting illegal migrants on our soil

America is not "anti-immigrate." Words have consequences, so why do we pair the word "illegal" with "immigrate" or "immigration?" Being in the country illegally has nothing to do with immigration. An illegal cannot immigrate until we say he/she can. If the law is broken by entering this country illegally, that person is illegal, and an alien migrant. The encroacher's status is that of an illegal migrant, or an illegal alien. We should no longer give aliens the cover of "immigration."

There is no greater disrespect to the U.S. and it's people than to fail in the Constitutional mandate to protect her borders,  allowing thousands of illegals to pour in every day...thousands every day! Arizona Senator McCain said Arizona alone was the crossing point for one million illegals in 2009.

Obama is warning politicians they should not campaign on the topic of illegals or the situation in Arizona. One look at the polls on illegals in the U.S., and the favorability of the law Arizona is trying to enact, tells us why Obama wants us to shut up. He clearly understand that voters and taxpayers want the borders secured now.

This name-calling, mocking President who calls TEA Partiers "teabaggers," and baldly lies that a United States Governor is "anti-immigrant" has no idea of the wrath building around the country.

ACLU Sues Every City with Illegal Immigration-Related Measures

With today's decision of federal Judge Susan Bolton to disallow the portions of the Arizona immigration bill  (SB1070) that would allow illegal migrants to be put in ICE custody, at least one city, Freemont, Nebraska, has rescinded their own bill mimicking Arizona's. The ACLU and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) were threatening lawsuits, and so Fremont caved. Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies says the ACLU hopes Fremont will start a trend.

[Krikorian] But I'm not aware of any city that has passed an immigration-related measure and that hasn't been sued by the ACLU, said Krikorian. "Their goal is intimidation. They are going to sue you until you cry 'uncle.'"

And so it goes with the communists at the ACLU. It is time to separate basic human rights from civil rights. If you are in the country illegally, there should be no right to civil rights. Human Rights, yes. Civil Rights no.

Arizona governor Jan Brewer says this is far from over. She is filing for an expedited appeal to the 9th Circus Liberal Court of Appeals in San Francisco. That's a complete time waster but necessary, as she can't get to the U.S. Supreme Court without the Marxists on the 9th Circuit rendering their decision first. The decisions coming out of the 9th are routinely overturned by the Supremes.  Let's hope SCOTUS  will agree to hear the case after the 9th Circus embarrasses themselves as usual, and thumbs their noses at the Rule of Law.  From Governor Brewer:

“I will battle all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary, for the right to protect the citizens of Arizona. Meanwhile, I also know we still have work to do in confronting the fear-mongers, those dealing in hate and lies and economic boycotts that seek to do Arizona harm.

“We have already made some progress in waking up Washington.  But the question still remains:  will Washington do its job, and put an end to the daily operations of smugglers in our nation, or will the delays and sidesteps continue?  I believe that the defenders of the rule of law will ultimately succeed with us in our demand for action.”

I support the ACLU when defending constitutional rights, but they routinely oppress the rights of others by simply suing, intimidating and waiting for the cry 'uncle.' How many winnable law suits have been dropped because of ACLU threat tactics? Being illegal in America is not a civil right.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie interviewed with Matt Lauer yesterday. When asked about the fallout of taking on the "Sacred Cows," teachers, unions and police, and if he feared them, Christie said "I don't think you can lead out of fear." Christie could have added, "because I'm doing the right thing," an unknown concept to the mainstream White House Propaganda Squad. This is a very interesting video interview, with a Governor who understands his job.

Oklahoma Primaries: Mary Fallin vs Randy Brogdon for Governor

As often is the case, Oklahoma has more than one conservative candidate. Such is the case with this year's June 27th primary and the two leading Republic candidates Mary Fallin, currently a U.S. Congresswoman and previously an Oklahoma Lt. Governor, and Randy Brogdon, currently a state senator.

Seldom do we see Sarah Palin endorsing the GOP establishment pick, but in this case Palin has endorsed Fallin as one of her Mama Grizzlies. Brogdon is cast as the conservative outsider. Both Fallin and Brogdon are very conservative, and both have been tireless workers for Oklahoma. If all things were equal, there is this...

The leading Democrat opponent is State Attorney General Drew Edmondson. I'm an Oklahoma native and I don't want to see another Edmondson leading this state. There was Ed and J. Howard, now Ed's sons Drew and Jim Edmondson, an Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice. Fallin has a impressive lead over Drew Edmondson in the polls, and is the obvious best choice to keep Edmondson out of office.

On July 7th, Oklahoma pollster Scott Rassmussen has Fallin ahead of Edmondson 48% to 39%. Edmondson leads every Republican on the ballot by double digits, including Randy Brogdon, with the exception of Mary Fallin.

Mr. Brogdon polls behind Drew Edmondson 48% to 36% [12 pts]. The July 7th poll has a margin of error of +/-4.5%. The Tulsa World poll above shows Brogdon as Fallin's closest competitor and he trails her by 38 points.

While visiting OkiePundit today, a great site for Oklahoma and election news (I borrowed the Tulsa World graphic above from them) I found a link to this tidbit: The Competitive Enterprise Institute has named Drew Edmondson the the Nation's third worst State Attorneys General behind California's Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown and Connecticut's Richard Blumenthal, who recently "misspoke" about his military service. No, I do not want Edmondson in the Governor's Mansion.

The campaign has been an unpleasant one between Fallin and Brogdon - or maybe Brogdon against Fallin is the unpleasant part. The two main charges against Fallin is that she took money from bailout recipients and she voted for TARP.

I'm not holding anyone too responsible for the $700 million 2008 TARP, except Democrats. Yes, yes, I know, it was on Bush's watch, but it was the Democrat Congress who fell asleep at the wheel, kept the CRA program rolling all the while knowing that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were explosive - and the Bush administration made 17 attempts to get the Democrat Congress to crack-down on the risky lending - all to no avail. Then there was no Congressional oversight of the SEC, as mandated - so RINO/Democrat Henry Paulsen was left to draw up the plan and present it to a shocked nation. Many voted for TARP who wish they had not done so today. We were in new territory and the knee jerk reaction was our economy would collapse. Today we know better, Then we didn't.

Brogdon said Fallin took donations from bailout recipients, but according to NewsOn6.com she received $5,000 from the CEO of an Oklahoma bank that did receive bailout funds. A spokesperson said the CEO was a long-time supporter of Fallin.

Brogdon also hit on her "earmarks," which Newson6 confirmed was not a traditional earmark, but was $8.5 million in stimulus money for Oklahoma National Guard projects in Oklahoma City and Braggs, although Fallin voted against the Stimulus.

This reminds me of a comment made by Oklahoma U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe. I have to paraphrase, but I think I'll get the spirit of it right: if the government is handing out money, take it for your State, because if you do not, the Democrats will get it. In other words, when you turn down funds of this type, don't be so naive as to think it goes back to an account and collects interest for the good of the country. According to Inhofe, it becomes a slush fund for the President.

I'm voting for Fallin in the primary. I believe she will do Oklahoma proud.

Bill Richardson Jan Brewer: Bill Richardson to Host Border Governors Without Brewer

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, a strong amnesty proponent, says the Border Governors meeting will go on without Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. Six Mexican border Governors refused to attend the meeting scheduled in Arizona in protest of Arizona's SB 1070, a law which will mimic federal law to deal with illegal migrants. The Mexican boycott caused Brewer to cancel the conference. Richardson, who apparently can be elected only by supporting illegal activity, says he thinks he will find a place for the event, with or without Brewer or the Mexican governors, and he hopes Obama's DOJ can quash the Arizona law:

The Justice Department did the right thing in pursuing legal action on the basis of discrimination, on preemption of federal authority. But most importantly...I hope that injunction passes so that this law never takes effect," he said.

Richardson's father was born in Nicaragua, but grew up in Boston. He worked for Citibank and was posted to Mexico City for almost 30 years. There the father married Richardson's mother, a Mexican woman who was his secretary. His father, said to be sensitive about not being born in the U.S., sent his wife to California to give birth to son Bill, making him a U.S. citizen. Bill was raised in Mexico City until the age of 13, when he was sent to Massachusetts to attend a preparatory school.

Bill Richardson, an American citizen who has achieved great success, whose family took advantage of the U.S. birthright process, now intends to use that opportunity to break every illegal migrant law on the books. Please join me in prayer that Governor Brewer and Arizona will crush this lawless Department of Justice as they pursue their lawsuit against this struggling state.

Chris Christie Privatizes New Jersey

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is proposing a massive privatization program for the state. A 57-page report gives the steps necessary to save $210 million a year by putting many services in the hands of private enterprise. Finally we have an outspoken public champion of the private sector.

Two thousand state employees may lose their jobs.

(1) State parks, psychiatric hospitals and even turnpike toll booths could also be run by private operators, 


(2) Preschool classrooms would no longer be built at public expense,

(3) state employees would pay for parking

(4) private vendors would dish out food, deliver health care and run education programs behind prison walls.

The most controversial loss to privatization is the state withdrawing entirely from the state vehicle inspections:

New Jersey would close its centralized car inspection lanes and motorists would pay for their own emissions tests....

But the car inspection proposal is sure to stir up controversy in a state with a tortured history of privatizing emissions testing.

Currently, New Jersey pays for the complete inspection process.

Chris Christie Budget Passed by Democrat Congress

New Governor Chris Christie's (R-NJ) budget, cutting "hundreds of millions of dollars" has been passed by the Democrat Congress.

New Jersey was facing an $11 billion deficit:

The budget, approved by the Assembly early Tuesday morning and by the Senate hours earlier, is close to the one Gov. Chris Christie introduced in March amid some blunt talk about the state’s bleak finances. He said New Jersey was facing an $11 billion deficit and needed to cure its addiction to spending.

Democrats got just $74 million in programs and services restored to the budget out of roughly $400 million sought. They insisted that Republicans sponsor the budget bills, so the GOP would own the bare-bones budget.

Christie was scheduled to sign his first budget Tuesday afternoon. The fiscal year starts Thursday.

In the Senate, Democrats supplied the four votes needed for the budget to pass. All 17 Republicans supported the budget, and it was approved 21-19.

Family-planning is big with Democrats in New Jersey. Most of us plan our families without the help of the state, but:

One of the most unpopular budget cuts among Democrats wes the elimination of $7.5 million in state funding to 58 family planning centers. 

In the end, Dems got their $7.5 million. They did not get their one-year surcharge on millionaires.

President Obama has agreed to let Arizona Governor Jan Brewer meet with his One-ness this Thursday, June 3rd. Lucky, lucky girl. Brewer has been trying to get Obama or anyone in his administration to talk to her about the Arizona law, which neither Obama or "his people" have read but have mischaracterized over and over - and threatened to sue. They have willingly mischaracterized the bill, and thusly lied.

Obama has not refused to meet with Brewer, he has simply ignored her. She requests a meeting, a phone call, a response to her letters. He ignores her.

Every U.S. president is charged with the same prime responsibility: keep America safe. Instead, every president after Reagan has allowed open borders to increase to boost their voting base. Every one of those presidents should have been impeached. Every Republican candidate for Congress must know that he/she will not get our vote unless they commit to a "real" fence, of however many levels it takes to do the job, and promises never to vote for amnesty. Every member of Congress must lose their job unless they adhere to the Rule of Law, which is, if you are here illegally, you are illegal and have broken the Rule of Law. It's a "mindset," America. We must adopt it with firm resolve, it is our only protection.

Brewer, speaking of Janet Napolitano, Homeland Security Secretary, and Brewer's predecessor, the Governor says this:

I have written her a letter, of course, and I've seen -- I saw her at a meeting. But she obviously is turning a blind eye to Arizona. She understands what the situation is. She wrote numerous letters when she was governor to the administration, looking for help and some relief. 

And for her to make the comment that she made that the borders are, what was it, that the borders just as secure -- are more secure than they have ever been -- well, they've never been secure. We are a gateway for every illegal immigration and criminal element into the United States.

I'm impressed with Governor Brewer's resolve. God bless her as she fights this battle for all of us.

Idaho Signs Law to Sue Fed for Health Care Mandates: 37 States to Follow

Idaho Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter signed a law today requiring the state attorney general to sue the Federal government if Idaho residents are forced to buy federally mandated and qualified health insurance. Thirty-seven other states have similar legislation pending, but according to this, constitutional law experts say federal laws supersede those of the states.

I'm thinking those "constitutional law experts" are Democrats. The Heritage Foundation did an exhaustive review of this issue and the bottom line came down to the necessity for the Supreme Court to create a new constitutional doctrine, in order for Congress to have the power to enforce the mandate. Read the arguments for the unconstitutionality of mandated health care here.

David Paterson Will Not Run for Reelection

Beleaguered New York Governor David Paterson is expected to announce today he will not run for reelection. Press conference planned for an 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM time frame.

The New York Post confirms Paterson will not run. Politico cites Democrats calling for Paterson to drop his re-election bid, including President Barack Obama.

New York's black Democrats had been reluctant to publicly voice their private skepticism of New York's first black governor, but Perkins said the "disturbing" report that the governor had interfered in an aide's domestic violence case forced his hand, and that he would call Paterson to tell him today.

Michael Steele, Chairman of the RNC, made the following comment last September about Obama's involvement:

I found that to be stunning, that the White House would send word to one of only two black governors in the country not to run for re-election,” Mr. Steele said on CBS’s Face the Nation Sunday. He also questioned why the White House had not exerted similar pressure on Jon Corzine, the Democratic governor of New Jersey, who has also suffered from very low approval ratings.

Paterson's scandals got hotter as one of his close aides, David W. Johnson, was suspended without pay, finally, this week on accusations of a violent domestic assault on his live-in girlfriend on Halloween night.

At every turn, the woman involved met a brick wall. She could not get protective orders served on Johnson. In the end, she talked to Governor Paterson by phone (unclear who made the to whom) and the next day, she failed to show up in court and her case was dismissed.

Attorney Andrew Cuomo, at Paterson's request, began an investigation into State Police and the Governor's office. Yesterday, Denise O'Donnell, a Paterson Cabinet official charged with overseeing the Police, stepped down.

Just yesterday Paterson was indicating he will run, but Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY), a close friend of Paterson's asked Paterson to step out of the race. "Sometimes, friends have to speak unpleasant truths."

David Paterson's scandal monitor seemed to perk-up daily, after stepping into office to replace disgraced New York Governor Eliot Spitzer. Polls are showing that Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is the leading Democrat for the 2010 race. In 2008, a New York Daily News headline said Gov. Paterson admits to sex with other women for years. That wasn't the whole story. Paterson said both he an his wife routinely had extramarital affairs.
