WTC Remains a Pit Nine Years After 9/11 Video

In this video, Steven Crowder talks about the World Trade Towers site and what it is today - a pit - nine years after September 11, 2001 - only a pit. Crowder has impeccable timing and a finely-tuned sense of the heart of the news. Posted on February 25th, 2010, I doubt much progress has been made in these 6 months. This is one of those great videos we will not forget.

From Big Hollywood:

I do think it’s necessary however, to show the tragic imagery so that people don’t forget how fired up they were in the following months. It’s time to get fired up again. It’s time to honor the deceased by proactively fighting against government waste and forcing their hand into action. There’s no excuse for Ground Zero to look the way it does today

Ron Wilkins Shirley Sherrod: Wilkins Charges Sherrods with Underpaying and Mistreating Black Farmers

Ron Wilkins, now a professor at California State University, Dominguez Hills, infiltrated Shirley and Charles Sherrod's New Communities, Inc. farm on behalf of a group who was overseeing the farm's work. Wilkins later became an "organizer" for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), in which Charles Sherrod is considered a "key civil rights leader. Wilkins says Sherrod "misused" workers, most of whom were only 16 years old and did it on the very lands where her ancestors toiled as slaves.

Shirley Sherrod

Joe R. Hicks, a member of The National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives' Project 21 says Shirley Sherrod is alleged by Wilkins to have "presided over the crass exploitation of poor black workers on a southwest Georgia agricultural 'plantation.' Hicks said Wilkins "should know what he's talking about."

According to this bio of Charles Sherrod, he "began the agricultural cooperative known as New Communities, Inc.(NCI). Shirley Sherrod was the NCI store manager during the 1970's. She was a key member of the administrative team, which according to Wilkins "exploited and abused the workforce in the field on the 6,000 acre plantation." Wilkins says the plantation was touted through the '60's and '70's as" a land trust committed to improving the lives of the rural black poor."
Underneath this facade, the young and old worked long hours with few breaks, the pay averaged sixty-seven cents an hour, fieldwork behind equipment spraying pesticides was commonplace and workers expressing dissatisfaction were fired without recourse.
Wilkins claims he made $40 a week ($174 in 2009 dollars) at the time he was fired. His 2010 claims about conditions at the NCI farm and managers' anti-labor behavior are reported in a September 28, 1974 article in the United Farm Workers newspaper El Malcriado -- which specifically cites Charles Sherrod as a manager of the farm.
Wilkins said while he was working at NCI, attempting to "organize NCI workers, he was fired, evicted from a NCI-owned shack, and arrested on bogus charges.

The 1974 article in the United Farm Workers newspaper El Malcriado is a pdf. The following is a partial transcript:

Children Farm Workers Strike Black Co-op: Albany, Georgia (September 28, 1974)
The black eagle flag first flew over the fields of Georgia on August 19th, when 50 Black farm workers, most of them under 16 years of age, walked out on strike at Ne Communities, Inc., a farming cooperative near here.
As the strike enters its fourth week, only management and eight workers are gathering the harvest at this 6,000 acre farm.
The strikers walked out for a living wage and humane working conditions.
Not only must they work behind machines spraying lethal pesticides, but there is no definite pay scale.
Waged paid by New Communities vary from 67 cents to $1.63 per hour, and management pays each worker whatever they please, according to personal preference.
Strikers say they must put in unnecessary overtime, on a half-hour's notice, at ungodly hours because the farm is poorly managed.
The farm's manager, for instance, would accept a large produce order late in the afternoon and then require people to work late into the night so that the order would be filled the next morning.
Management had convinced the workers that they should not expect better pay or hours because the entire cooperative was losing money.
Robert Johnson, one of the employees, finally organized the current strike but as promptly fired.
The day after the strike began, the workers called on the United Farm Workers (UFW) field office in Avon Park, Florida for assistance.
Mack Lyons, Florida field office director and UFW National Executive Board member, met with the strikers in Georgia.
The workers signed UFW authorization cards (cards which name the UFW as the bargaining agent of their choice) and voted to demand a UFW contract with the protections of the union's Coca-Cola contract in Florida.
The union has already won back pay for workers who were not earning the minimum wage, sometimes amounting to as much as $500.
Through several of this Black cooperative's funding organizations are pressuring Charles Sherrod, the farm's manager, to reach a settlement with the strikers, he remains unwilling to negotiate.
With so few scabs left in New Community's fields, the UF's first strike in the southeast area (outside of Florida) may also bring the first of many UFW contracts to these fields that were once harvested by slave labor. End
Joe Hicks says if these charges are true, Shirley Sherrod "owes an explanation and an apology -- not only to Wilkins but to the other black farm workers she misused." Hicks is currently the host of The Hicks File at PJTV.com and a former executive director of the Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Shirley Sherrod Andrew Breitbart: Sherrod: Breitbart After a Black President

Shirley Sherrod shows us how racism will be kept alive and well. Yesterday she said Andrew Breitbart was a "racist," I doubt she can produce one single fact to show racism from Breitbart. Rather than come up with a "fact," she challenges Breitbart to show her how he is NOT racist. The burden is not on her to prove he is racist, because she is a Liberal. As with every Liberal viewpoint, they accuse and we have to prove. I am at Breitbart's website regularly and I have seen no signs of racism. Sherrod needs to prove her accusation, and shame on Anderson Cooper for not making her do so in the video interview below.

Andrew Breitbart

After releasing the snippets of the Shirley Sherrod video when she spoke to the NAACP in March 2010, Breitbart's goal was to show the racism in the NAACP - the audience laughed that she did not do all that she could for a White man who came to her - a government paid worker - to save his farm. Breitbart's intention to show racism in the NAACP was due to their charges of racism against Tea Parties.

I would like to hear how what she said about the White farmer is not racist. Yes, he and his wife came forward later, and said Sherrod was helpful and they had remained friends, but she did not tell the NAACP that. She obviously thought her audience would champion her for getting Whitey.

Had a White person from the Department of Agriculture said the same things, they would not only be fired, they would likely lose their retirement benefits. And had Sherrod been White, and the farmer been Black, once the Black farmer came forward, he would be tainted forever by his "own kind," as Sherrod would say, for supporting a White man.

The one thing Sherrod said that shows her clear racist agenda is the dishonest claim that Republicans do not want ObamaCare because Obama is Black. We hate the unconstitutional legislation, and there are hundreds of thousands of pages explaining why we hate it and oppose it. Sherrod obviously knows naught about the Constitution. None of it has anything to do with a Black president. It has everything to do with a Marxist president.

Here's the video of Sherrod saying Breitbart is "after a Black president." If her claim was accurate, it would be "a large part of the U.S. is after an incompetent, Constitutional-destroying president."  Accusation after accusation that Breibart is racist - without a single attempt to prove what she is saying...just slamming Breitbart and running on to the next baseless accusation. Visit Breitbart and show me how he is racist.

Bill O'Reilly Rachel Maddow: O'Reilly to Maddow: Fox Kicks Your Networks Butt Every Single Day

O'Reilly's show on Thursday night revolved around the Shirley Sherrod story. Some other networks had a few things to say to about Fox News and Shirley Sherrod. Maddow made some odd statements, including saying the ACORN story [remember the pimp and prostitute] was "fake," and she wrapped it up with "Fox does what Fox does" to which O'Reilly answered "which is kick your network's butt every single day." Sorry, the video embed is not working. Please view it here.

Troopathon 2010 Remembering our Troops Streaming Live

My friend Karen at The Lonely Conservative is supporting Troopathon 2010. She is on the Hot Air Steamers team and last year this feisty group raised $16,000 for care packages for our troops overseas.

I just went to The Lonely Conservative, clicked her link that says "send a little comfort from home," chose my package, and it took about 3 minutes to complete my order, if that long.

Troopathon is streaming live at http://www.troopathon.org right now! the show is loaded with notables, and this minute Mark Levin is talking with Melanie Morgan. Watch it at Troopathon.

DC Police SEIU: DC Police Escort SEIU Protesters to Bank Exec Home

If you have any concerns about the Obama agenda, and your own sovereignty as a citizen of the U.S., The One sent you a clear message when the Washington D.C. Metro police escorted 13 buses of SEIU bully-protesters to the Maryland Montgomery County home of Greg Baer, a Bank of America executive. Baer's teenaged son was inside the home alone.

SEIU on the lawn Bank of America Executive

Five hundred SEIU bullies stood "near" Baer's front lawn, which obviously means that many others in the neighborhood had to put up with this police and union protest as well. One of those was journalist and FOX News contributor, Nina Easton,  who spoke to Baer's son by phone as the protest was happening.

Read more by Liberty Chick writing at BigGovernment here and here, and check out her blog here. If police standing by as a private home is innundated by 500 thugs, isn't alarming to you, and if hair somewhere on your body isn't standing straight-up, you are not thinking.

Andrew Breitbart Offers $10,000 for Proof of "N" Word hurled at Congressional Black Caucus

Andrew Breitbart is offering $10,000 to the United Negro College Fund for proof that Capitol Hill protesters used the word "ni**er" as members of the Congressional Black Congress walked by.

Andrew Breitbart

From Breitbart who explains just how desparate Democrats are for a racist Tea Party moment:

As I have said over and over and over, the left has one trick that it will use again and again when its back is in the corner: shout ‘racist’ in a crowded country.
On Saturday, during the peaceful and patriotic tea party protest at the Capitol, the Democrats staged a series of symbolic acts meant to manipulate the media to do its bidding. The Congressional Black Caucus pulled the Selma card and chose to walk through the crowd in the hopes of creating a YouTube incident....
This is the same failed symbolism that Janeane Garofalo and MSNBC have been trying to implant for the last year. The only supposed evidence of white-on-black racism at a tea party that MSNBC was able to find was a man carrying a gun at an Arizone Obama rally.with a photo editing software. That Second Amendment fan was actually black. Never mind....
It's time for the allegedly pristine character of Rep. John Lewis to put up or shut up. Therefore, I am offering $10,000 of my own money to provide hard evidence tha the N-word was hurled at him not times, as his colleague reported, but just once. Furely one of those two cameras wielded by members of his entourage will prove his point.
Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) is the "colleague" mentioned above that claims "ni**er was chanted 15 times.

La Shaw Barber writing at Michelle Malkin wonders if the United Negro College Fund would accept the $10,000 if the claim is proven. This ups-the-ante for the bogus claims considerably. See the videos at Breitbart linked above.

Acorn Drops Lawsuit against O'Keefe and Giles

ACORN dropped their multi-million dollar lawsuit against James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles, who entered several ACORN facilities across the map, and recorded ACORN employees giving advice on how to evade tax laws and keep a prostitution business offering 13-year-old, smuggled Salvadorean girls under the radar. The suit was dropped because ACORN failed to serve O'Keefe, Giles and Andrew Breitbart's Breitbart.com. Perhaps the plan was never to serve the defendents knowing you can't defend the indefensible.

Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe

Copyrights and Campaigns has the court docket showing a failure to serve. The case was filed in Baltimore based on Maryland law saying that all persons being recorded or videotaped must give consent to the action, but the content of the tapes demonstrated a flagrant disregard for tax law, human smuggling, prostitution and more.

Ben Sheffner at Copyrights and Campaigns predicted in September 2009 that the lawsuit would fail because first, there must be a reasonable expectation to privacy, which would be a difficult case to make in an office where doors were open, and children could be heard in the area.

So while ACORN received enormous publicity over the lawsuit, they have also been under enormous scrutiny since the tapes surfaced; so much so that they are attempting to change their name, closing offices for lack of funding and finding it more and more difficult to find anyone sympathizing with their supposed mission of registering the poor and disenfranchised to vote. See the background at BigGovernment.com.

James O'Keefe Arrested: ACORN Buster O'Keefe

James O'Keefe, one-half of the famous prostitute and pimp duo, who exposed ACORN for fraud and illegal services at numerous ACORN offices around the country last summer, has been arrested for allegedly, "maliciously" interfering with the telephones in Senator Mary Landrieu's New Orleans office.

O'Keefe was arrested along with Robert Flanagan, the son of acting U.S. Attorney Bill Flanagan, Joseph Basel, and Stan Dai, each 24-years-old.

You'll remember that Andrew Breitbart and BigGovernment broke the ACORN story. Breitbart issued the following statement today:

“We have no knowledge about or connection to any alleged acts and events involving James O’Keefe at Senator Mary Landrieu’s office.  We only just learned about the alleged incident this afternoon.  We have no information other than what has been reported publicly by the press.  Accordingly, we simply are not in a position to make any further comment.”
An FBI arrest affidavit says the men, on or about January 25th:
...entered and attempted to gain entrance to the office and telephone system of the United Sates Senator Mary Landrieu, located in the Hale Boggs federal Building, Room 1005, 500 Poydras Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130.
Dai is said to have "aided and abetted" Flanagan and Basel in the execution of the plan." A witness said James O'Keefe was already in the Senator's office when Flanagan and Basel showed up, and told Witness 1 "he was waiting for someone to arrive."

According to Witness 1, Flanagan and Basel said they were there to "fix problems with the telephone system," and she believed O'Keefe was taping the conversation with his cell phone.

Flanagan and Basel allegedly asked for entry to the main phone system. They told a second witness they needed to access the main phone system. Witness 2asked for credentials, which they said they left in their vehicle. The affidavit states that neither of the men are employed by the telephone company.

O'Keefe and Dai have also admitted to federal agents that they worked with Flanagan and Basel in the planning, coordination, and preparation of the operation." O'Keefe admitted to recording some of the conversation.

The affidavit states there is "probable cause" to believe there was "false and fraudulent pretense" to enter the Landrieu's office, and "maliciously interfering with a telephone system operated and controlled by the US of America," a violation of Title 18, US Code, Sections 1036, 1362 and 2."
