Jose Rojas Ute Linhart: Jose Rojas Pushes Ute Linhart into Speeding Train - Identifies Himself as Osama bin Laden

Ute Linhart, a New York creative director for stars like Elton John and Katy Perry was pushed into the side of the fast moving, 400-ton, Manhattan "R" subway train by Jose Rojas who identified himself to police as "Osama bin Laden,  f--k you!" Linhart survived the blow into the train, which threw her violently back onto the platform. She said she saw the tracks but realized she was still alive because she was "in so much pain, she couldn't possibly be dead." Can we ask if Jose Rojas is legally in the U.S.?

Ute Linhart

Linhart had left her Fifth Avenue office and was on her way to meet a friend at Times Square. She said she saw Rojas come "creeping up on me." "He stood next to me for a few seconds and stared at my face. He looked insane." He pushed her from behind into the train.

Ute Linhart is in Bellvue Hospital with a punctured lung, three broken ribs, her left arm broken in two places and bone fragments in her right cheek, along with other cuts.
Linhart said a quick-thinking good Samaritan grabbed her right arm to soften the blow.
"I would love to find the person who pulled me back," she said, adding that hordes of riders circled around and told her to hold on.
"A woman came over and told me she's a nurse and to stay calm," Linhart said. "I felt well taken care of."
She was surrounded by people trying to help her, and as Rojas, 25, tried to run, bystanders held him for police. Jose Rojas has no prior record with the New York Police Department, but witnesses said he had been standing on the platform "pointing in a menacing gun-like gesture" at several others waiting for the train.

Jose Rojas, who works as a cook at Cipriani,  has been charged with attempted murder and assault and is held without bail. His attorney, Christine Delince, said the attempted murder charge against Rojas is "excessive." So what has she been smoking? Like a good Manhattan liberal, Linhart said if she ever sees Rojas again she would "want to know why he acted like a lunatic."
"I would say 'Hi, what's wrong with you? Whats your problem?"
Is there an interest in knowing why he identified himself as "Osama bin Laden? I'm asking again,  is he in the U.S. legally? The Huffington Post refers to Linhart as a "Fashion Big-Wig."

Osama bin Laden in Savzevar, Iran with Ayman al-Zawahiri: What do we do now?

Not surprising, but what do we do now that we know? Bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri have enjoyed Iranian hospitality for 5 years, along with three other unnamed "high-ranking" al Qaeda members. Home to bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri has been the town of Savzevar or Sabzevar

Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri

Turkey has been in on the secret, according to Kuwaiti sources:
Savzevar, a small town of about a quarter of a million inhabitants, is connected by road toTehran and Mashhad and has a small airport. A center for producing grapes and raisins, its location is remote and difficult to access because it is enclosed by lofty mountains and a salt desert 50,000 square kilometers in area.
DEBKAfile's counter-terror sources disclose that the purpose of airing their precise whereabouts at this time, aside from implicating the Turkish leader, was first, to warn al Qaeda's leaders that their hideout was blown and they had better move on - which would make them easier to catch; and, second, to nudge US president Barak Obama into a decision to go after them.
Really, what do we do now? Bin Laden is in Iran...and we know it, and...what do we do now? Read the story at DEBKAfile, including what American intelligence knew about American targets by mid-May, 2010. As you will read in the DEBKAfile, they have a theory about why this story is breaking now, and that basically is, since Kuwait broke the story to get these two scumbags on the run so they can be hunted down by the good guys. Holger Awakens, on the other hand, has another theory. Read it at Holger Awakens.

Osama bin Laden Boycotts US Goods US Dollar: Osama bin Laden Blames US for Global Warming

Maybe we could call this a Friday Afternoon Funny. Osama bin Laden is asking the world to boycott the American dollar (USD) and American goods. The cave dweller, still believed to be titular head, although significantly neutered, of al-Qaeda, says the US is responsible for global warming.

Just like every Liberal we know:

He blamed Western industrialized nations for hunger, desertification and floods across the globe, and called for "drastic solutions" to global warming, and "not solutions that partially reduce the effect of climate change."

Bin Laden has mentioned climate change and global warning in past messages, but the latest tape was his first dedicated to the topic. The speech, which included almost no religious rhetoric, could be an attempt by the terror leader to give his message an appeal beyond Islamic militants.

The al-Qaida leader also targeted the U.S. economy in the recording, calling for a boycott of American products and an end to the dollar's domination as a world currency.

"We should stop dealings with the dollar and get rid of it as soon as possible," he said. "I know that this has great consequences and grave ramifications, but it is the only means to liberate humanity from slavery and dependence on America."

He argued that such steps would also hamper Washington's war efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
At this time, the tape, which aired in part on al-Jazeera television, has not been officially authenticated.

Bin Laden Tape All About Palestine

A new audio tape believed to be Osama bin Laden speaking tells America that he doesn't like our persecution of his Palestinian brothers, and says we will not be safe until we see the error of our way - including stopping all support of Israel. He talks about "fairness," and take credit for the actions of the Christmas Day Underpants bomber's failed attempt on Delta Flight 253. It's all about Palestine for now. Note that the State Department has not confirmed the authenticity of the audio.

From CNN:

A new audio tape allegedly from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden claims responsibility for an attempt to blow up a plane en route to Michigan on Christmas Day and warns the United States of more attacks.

The tape, which aired on the Arabic-language news Web site Al-Jazeera on Sunday, says "the United States will not dream of enjoying safety until we live it in reality in Palestine."

The tape continues: "It is not fair to enjoy that kind of life while our brothers in Gaza live in the worst of miseries."

CNN could not independently confirm the authenticity of the message, but the CIA has in the past confirmed Al-Jazeera reports on tapes from the al Qaeda leader.

President Obama's senior adviser David Axelrod told CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday that while there was no immediate confirmation that the message was authentic, it "contains the same hollow justification for the slaughter of innocent people."

In another section of the audio tape that Al-Jazeera broadcast, the voice says: "God willing our attacks will continue as long as you support the Israelis and may peace be on those who follow guidance."

Bin Laden also claims responsibility for the foiled attack on Delta flight 253 in December.

Bin Laden Family Found: Bin Laden Family "Forgotten Victims of 9/11"

Some of Osama bin Laden's closet family have been found hiding out in a secret compound in Tehran, Iran. They want to leave the country and say they are the "forgotten victims of 9/11."

Clockwise from top left: Osama Bin Laden and his 10-year-old son Ali; Saad bin Laden; Omar Ossama bin Laden with his wife Zaina; Ossman bin Laden; and Muhammad and Bakr bin Laden

Omar Ossama bin Laden, 29, the Al Qaeda leader’s fourth-eldest son, said he had no idea that his brothers and sisters were still alive until they called him in November. They told him how they had fled Afghanistan just before the 9/11 attacks and walked to the Iranian border. They were taken to a walled compound outside Tehran where guards said they were not allowed to leave "for their own safety". The eldest of the children, Saad, was 20 at the time, Ossman 17, Muhammad 15, Fatma 14, Hamza 12, Iman 9, and Bakr, 7.
There had been speculation that Muhammad was second in command of al-Qaeda and that Saad also instigated and plotted terrorist attacks until he was killed about 18 months ago by an American drone. The relatives, however, said that Muhammad is still living in the compound and that Saad ran away less than a year ago in an attempt to find his mother.
A week after making contact with her brother, Iman escaped during a rare trip outside the compound and made her way to the Saudi Arabian Embassy. She is now living there while seeking permission to leave Iran.

Mr bin Laden said that his relatives live as normal a life as possible, cooking meals, watching television and reading. They are allowed out only rarely for shopping trips. As a number of families are being held in the compound some of the older siblings have been able to marry and have their own children. “The Iranian Government did not know what to do with this large group of people that nobody else wanted, so they just kept them safe. For that we owe them much gratitude, and thank Iran from the depth of our heart,” he said.

Mr bin Laden, who had lived with his father in exile in Sudan and Afghanistan but left before the 9/11 attacks, now hopes that the family will be given permission to leave Iran and join his mother, brother and two sisters in Syria, or himself and his wife in Qatar.

He said: “They are all just innocent victims, just the same as anyone else hurt by the dreadful events of 9/11 and 7/7. These babies and children have never had any education, never hurt a single soul, never trained with any weapons or ever been part of al-Qaeda. We just want to be together as a family. I have now got 11 nieces and nephews, born either in Afghanistan or Iran that I have never seen.

“Some may find this story unnerving, but the child can’t be judged by the sins of their father.”
Saad bin Laden was released by Iran in late 2008. It is believed that he was killed in an American Hellfire missile strike from a Predator drone in Pakistan in July 2009.

Eman bin Laden, the 17-year-old daughter of Osama bin Laden fled the Iranian compound and made her way to the Saudia Arabian Embassy in October or November 2009, where she has received asylum. More.
Another bin Laden son, Abdullah, who lives in Saudi Arabia, told the Arab TV news network Al-Jazeera in an interview aired this week that Eman telephoned him after she eluded guards who were taking her on a shopping trip in Tehran.

Osama bin Laden reportedly has 19 children by several wives. He took at least one of his wives and their children with him to Afghanistan in the late 1990s after he was thrown out of his previous refuge, Sudan. They fled when the U.S-led war erupted, including the group that tried to escape through Iran....
Most of the al-Qaida leader's children, like Omar, live as legitimate businessmen. The extended bin Laden family, one of the wealthiest in Saudi Arabia, disowned Osama in 1994 when Saudi Arabia stripped him of his citizenship because of his militant activities. Osama bin Laden's billionaire father Mohammed, who died in 1967, had more than 50 children and founded the Binladen Group, a construction conglomerate that gets many major building contracts in the kingdom.

Saad bin Laden: Osama bin Ladens Son Meets Hellfire

U.S. officials believe that 27-year-old Saad bin Laden, Osama bin Laden's "eldest" son, was killed by a Hellfire missile fired from a U.S. Predator drone.

Saad bin Laden, Osama bin Laden
A date for the fatal meet-up of Saad and the Hellfire missile is not given - just "sometime this year." Said to have been under "house arrest" in Iran, Saad was evidently freed by Iran in late 2008. Military officials say Saad was not important enough to have targeted: he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's not likely that dad was in the same area with Saad:
The Arab diplomat who spoke to CBS News said it was unlikely that the younger bin Laden was “anywhere near his father." He (Osama bin Laden) has kept himself far away from his clan," the diplomat said. "That’s one reason why he is able to move at very short notice: Imagine going around with 19 kids following you."

Sunni al-Qaeda Split in Iraq?

Various sources are reporting Iraqi-Sunni factions, with fealty to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda in Iraq, are unhappy with the alliance, and are breaking ties. After a plea to bin Laden to:

"...assume religious and organizational responsibility for al-Qaeda..."
but, still, continuing to see Iraqi civilian deaths a the hands of al-Qaeda, Sunnis are outraged. Al-Qaeda in Iraq is believed to be comprised of mostly foreign fighters and be heavily financed by foreign sources. Al-Qaeda claims credit for a chlorine gas bombing, kidnappings, bodies found in ditches, trash bins and rivers, and destruction of city infrastructure and houses of worship. An Iraqi Parliament member is quoted:
They [Sunni fighters] have realized that those people [al-Qaeda] are not working for Iraq's interests,..."
It's a big dilemma, and not one with an easy-out. Sunnis are fighting Sunnis, and being a Sunni is a complicated progeniture. A leader of the Jamiat insurgency says that were it not for al-Qaeda's 9/ll assault on America,
"...neither Iraq or Afghanistan would be occupied..."
There's a lot of truth in that, because any war lord worth his stash of IEDs, knows that double-digit UN Resolutions are no threat at all. We can turn this whole lament around. It's reasonable to think that some Iraqis desire to live in a civilized society, and because of al-Qaeda, Saddam is gone, but school is open on most days and teachers no longer despair over Uday Hussein's mid-day summons of a young female student. Remember Abu Ghraib, where real atrocties were committed, every day, before U.S. Troops arrived? Thank al-Qaeda that Abu Ghraib no longer imprisons Saddam's political dissidents. Saddam's exit from the everyday life of powerful Ba'athist Sunnis, no long receiving dispensation from their leader and reduced to living the life of a terrorist on the run, has provided the motive to get that power back. The problem is, there's no one Ba'athist to whom allegiance can be pledged - each splinter group has their own agenda, as does al-Qaeda - and al-Qaeda's allegiance is not to the good people of Iraq. Read this piece from Truth & Consequences (Jim Simpson) for Sunni Ba'athist background before reading the current news reports below. The question is, does the split from al-Qaeda help our troops in Iraq? Who Are We Really Fighting

By Jim Simpson Every day we hear more reports about the rising Islamist threat. Stephen Emerson reports alarmingly about the Islamists hidden among us. Al Qaeda is reportedly alive and spreading all over the world – morphing into a many headed snake. Meanwhile, Iran has moved from bluster to bully as it seizes British sailors on the open sea and blatantly ignores worldwide demands to cease its nuclear program, while continuing to arm Iraqi terrorists in direct defiance of the United States. Islamist militants in Palestinian-controlled areas and Lebanon visibly flex their muscles both militarily and diplomatically, while Muslims worldwide stridently demand absurdly special treatment in the non-Muslim societies where they have settled. As a friend once said, paraphrasing Trotsky: “You may not be interested in Islam, but Islam is interested in you.” Without diminishing the threat these worldwide activities pose, it is important nonetheless to recognize that they are a distraction, a deliberate provocation designed to keep our eyes focused on the wrong enemy. The true threat is and always has been the worldwide communist movement, spearheaded by the Soviet Union (oh sorry, I keep forgetting, “Russia,”) and Communist China. And given the cacophony currently being raised by their Islamist provocateurs, I fear the sucker punch is not long in coming. We are obsessed with routing out “al Qaeda” in Iraq but almost willfully ignore that the insurgency remains largely driven by the Iraqi Ba’athist party’s highly organized network, with assistance from their Ba’athist cousins in Syria. I fear that if we merely defeat al Qaeda, our misidentification of the enemy will lead us to give up the fight early, leaving the much more dangerous Ba’athist infrastructure in place. In such circumstances, we will soon be facing another Saddam. Similarly, it is easy to see a Shia-led Iraq fall into the Iranian camp if we leave. (I described this potential problem in great detail before the war started. See: Regime Change Means Eradicating the Ba’ath Party.) The Russians initially trained, funded and equipped the Ba'athists in both Syria and Iraq. They taught them the tactics being used now in Iraq against us. They continued to provide Saddam with military advice during the first Gulf war and at least the beginning of the current one, and I remain confident that they provide the Ba'athist insurgents with some manner of support to this day. They assisted in the removal of Saddam's WMD to Syria. According to defector Ion Pacepa, the former Romanian Intelligence chief, Russia long ago developed a contingency plan for all puppet states to hide WMD should Western powers appear close to exposing them. (Read all about that here.) Russia is helping Iran develop nuclear weapons. Russia’s Ba’athist puppets in Syria train and arm Iran’s Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine, as well as practically every other terrorist group operating around the globe. As for Iraq, Russia is indifferent as to whether it falls under the Iranian sphere, or returns to Ba’athist rule. In either case, it’ll be just another puppet. Russia only cares that we lose. Russia's strategy has always been to use others to do their fighting for them. It is also to make surrogate powers a threat to the US in and of themselves, both as a tactic to distract us from the true threat and to help insure that we fire first at the wrong enemy if it ever comes to that. And just as the notion of "Stateless" terrorist groups is a red herring, so is that of "rogue states." (Note: to understand why the whole idea of “Stateless” terrorists is absurd, you need only examine the funding requirements for such activities and realize that their prospects for defeating a large nation unassisted are virtually zero. You have to believe that these groups have unlimited resources and will squander them on activities that can get them killed for no ultimate purpose. And if your answer is “Bin Laden” read here to understand why this is false too.) North Korea remains attached to Russia and China at the hip and does not operate independently on the world stage. It is just one front on the offensive line, as is Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Syria and so, so many others. I foresee for example, a possible scenario where a so-called “rogue state” like Iran or North Korea, fires a nuclear weapon at us. We respond in kind, and the Russians, feigning fear that they are the target, launch a massive retaliatory strike against us. Whoops, sorry comrade, our mistake! The US needs to get clearer on who and what we are fighting. For starters, we need to eliminate the Ba'athist power base and obliterate Iran’s covert networks to win a decisive victory in Iraq. This will demonstrate both to ourselves and our enemies that we can win this kind of war and serve as an object lesson to the enemy that we are capable of making their chosen tactics very expensive. By this measure we are currently losing. However, I fear that if we give up, it will be the last time any politician musters the political courage necessary to confront this kind of warfare, and we will continue to face more and more of it until we are an island alone in the world against a sea of enemies. At that point it will start here at home, or we will merely be given an ultimatum with nuclear blackmail, and our feckless political class will fold like a reed in the wind. For the longer term, we need to significantly increase both our military size and effectiveness – more troops, effective anti-missile defenses, as well as conventional weapons, where we may not have as much of an advantage as we think – and dramatically improve intelligence gathering. I am not optimistic that any of this will get done. But if Hillary Clinton or some other Democrat is elected in 2008, we will assuredly go in the polar opposite direction. Hard times ahead.
