Imam Ibrahim Dremali Arrested: Dremali and Safaa Rashad Eissa Arrested

Imam Ibrahim Dremali and his wife Safaa Rashad Eissa were arrested in Texas on charges of Immigration Fraud. Dremali is also known as Ibrahim Abdelrahman Dremali. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) sent an email plea to American Muslims saying that Dremali is "one of a small handful of people who hold Ph.D.s in the U.S. in Islamic Jurisprudence." In other words, he has a "deep understanding of Sharia - meaning Dremali clearly understands the Islamic mission of Sharia dominance worldwide. 10-19-10 Update below. Another pertinent update 10-20-10 below

Ibrahim Abdelrahman Dremali

Creeping Sharia reports that CAIR, through the mass email, has asked Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) to have the charges dropped. Harken is likely at his home office while the Senate is in campaign mode. His Iowa office phone in Des Mones: 515-284-4574, Fax: 515-284-4937 and in Washington, D.C. 202-224-3254 and Fax: 202-224-9369. Something we can do is contact Senator Harkin's office and tell him to not even think of dropping the charges against this couple. Read on for good reasons to see this through to the end of a trial. Let their public defender defend them.

From The Iowa Independent:
Imam Ibrahim Dremali and his wife, Safaa Rashad Eissa, were arrested at their Arlington, Texas, home on Oct. 6 by local and federal agents acting on a warrant issued by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. According to the warrant, Dremali and his wife are suspected of conspiracy and fraud in [the] naturalization process, an immigration offense...
Apparently, Safaa Rashad Eissa is not Ibrahim's other wife, Lamyaa Hashim (a.k.a. Um Ahmad), or perhaps she changed her name, or maybe there was an Islamic divorce. From FrontPageMag's The Visiting Jihadist in 2006:
Ibrahim Dremali was educated at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, where the school’s Grand Imam, Muhammad Sayyed Tantawi, has issued Fatwas in favor of violent Jihad against America and in support of suicide bombings.  It is at Al-Azhar that Dremali was said to have been indoctrinated into a militant organization.  This gives historical context for an event that happened on July 1, 1996, during which Dremali was detained by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) and told that he was not to leave Gazaindefinitely.  Subsequently, on July 5, 1996, against Israeli orders, he arrived in Cairo.
Dremali would soon make his way to sunny Florida, where he resided previous to the IDF incident.
Update 10-19-10:
Addressing the mass email, this says that Dremali is known to Senator Harkin, who has appeared with Dremali and supported his work in the past.

From The Investigative Project on Terrorism:
Dremali founded the Islamic Center of Boca Raton before becoming an imam in Des Moines. While in Florida, his mosque co-sponsored a rally in 2000 which featured Hizballah flags and chants of "with jihad we'll claim our land. Zionist blood will wet the sand."
In addition, Dremali testified on behalf of Adham Amin Hassoun during a 2002 bond hearing, attesting to Hassoun's "peaceful and generous" character. Hassoun would later be indictedfor "actively recruiting mujahideen fighters and raising funds for violent jihad" and conspiracy to murder, kidnap, and maim persons in a foreign country," in order to "advance violent jihad," including "murder, kidnapping, and maiming," to establish "Islamic states under Sharia."
Hassoun was convicted in 2007.
The Islamic Center of Boca Raton, which Dremali founded has quite a reputation, according to FrontPageMag:
From October of 1999 through July of 2001, the Islamic Center of Boca Raton (ICBR) contained material on its website calling Jews “people of treachery and betrayal” and discussing the murder of Jews. A founding director of ICBR, Syed Khawer Ahmad, who stayed on in his position till the middle of 2002, doubled as a webmaster for the official website of Hamas’s Islamic Association located in Gaza. In October of 2000, the Imam of ICBR, Ibrahim Dremali, amidst burning Israeli flags and shouts that “Zionist blood will wet the sand,” told a crowd not to be sad for “those who were martyred” (i.e., suicide bombers). Despite this history, the ICBR had no trouble securing a zoning permit for a proposed 9,000 square-foot mosque. No one -- not the police department, not the mayor’s office, not the zoning board -- raised an objection.
What transpired after the permit was given is a matter of record. A Hamas-related charity connected to ICBR, the Health Resource Center for Palestine, was shut down; a founding director of ICBR and associate of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) leader Sami Al-Arian, Bassem Alhalabi, was charged by the U.S. government with illegally shipping a $13,000 piece of sensitive military equipment to Syria; the Imam that took the place of Dremali, Munir Arafat, admitted under oath that he himself was a member of PIJ; and a member of the center, Rafiq Sabir, was arrested by the FBI for being an Al-Qaeda operative, to which he is currently awaiting trial.
Apparently, Dremali has spread his jihad to the Austin, Texas area. DiscoverTheNetworks says Dremali was the Director of the Islamic Center of Greater Austin, and a professor at the American Open University.

Call Senator Harkin's office, as well as alert your own Senator and Congressmen that CAIR is once again at work to whitewash a jhadist living in the U.S.

Update 10-20-10:
Shawn Savage at Savage Infidel via DallasNews
Dremali and Eissa are accused of marrying other people to provide U.S. citizenship. Islamic websites are tsk, tsk, tsking that Dremali is suffering from cancer and should not be moved, but according to this report, it's not cancer, it's hepatitis C. He is awaiting a liver transplant from a red-blooded American's demise.

Bush Tax Cuts to Save Democrats in November?

Well, well, well! Democrats may keep George W. Bush's tax cuts in a desperate move to keep their seats in November.  How will the Marxist Propaganda Squad (once known as the mainstream media) spin this? Whether Democrats dare to do it or not, it's on the table. We have the quotes. We won't forget.

Tax Cuts - The Rich Pay More

The irony of trying to use President Bush's tax cuts by Democrats who have maligned them as a way to make the rich richer, is sweet. Three months before the elections, we have some Democrats on record saying the Bush Tax Cuts, which expire at the end of this year, worked and will continue to work.

Some Democrats want to postpone the sunset - obviously until after November 2010 and maybe until after November 2012.  Sen Byron Dorgon (D-ND) believes the spending of the rich doesn't amount to much...they need to be taxed more, and taxed now. In the graphic above, you can see that the rich in either category are taxed at a rate almost double the proportion of the income received.

To set the scene, a chief economist with Moody's said a drop in spending by the rich has slowed the economy. The highest income earners in the U.S. are credited with 30 percent of spending. They stopped spending, and the "recovery" they're trying to sell was affected negatively.

Allowing income tax rates to reset to pre-Bush levels for individuals earning more than $200,000 and families earning more than $250,000 could generate close to $700 billion over the next 10 years.
From The Hill:
Obama promised that families earning less than $250,000 would not see their taxes increase.
But vulnerable Democrats in Congress are worried about talk of raising taxes, even on the wealthiest families, when the national economic recovery has slowed.
[Rep. Gerry Connolly D-VA]  said Democrats should not allow the 2001 Bush tax cuts to expire for anybody. “People in the upper tax brackets have a huge impact, a disproportionate impact on consumer spending,” he said.  Gerry Connolly is defending the Virginia District 11 House seat in 2010.
Connolly is up for reelection in November. His Republican opponent is Keith Fimian.
Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND), a senior Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, said he could support a short-term extension of the Bush tax cuts for the highest income earners. “My reaction would be don’t cut spending, don’t raise taxes and that would mean on anyone,” he said.
Rep. Bobby Bright, a Democrat facing a tough reelection race in Alabama, said tax increases, even if limited to the wealthiest families, could imperil the recovery. “I don’t care if it’s the wealthiest of the wealthy, you don’t raise their taxes,” he said. “In a recession, you don’t tax, burden and restrict. The economy is like a ship, and if you sink the ship, all the good you might do goes down with it.”
Bright is up for reelection in November. His Republican opponent is Martha Roby
Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA) would like to see the Bush tax cuts expire for families earning $200,000 a year, or even less.
Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) (paraphrased) wants some tax adjustments to reflect the regional cost of living. Nadler represents Manhattan.
From Tax Cuts Increase Revenue "the way to soak the rich is with low tax rates...":

If Mr. Obama does succeed in raising tax rates on the rich, we'd also wager that the rich share of tax payments would fall. The last time tax rates were as high as the Senator wants them -- the Carter years -- the rich paid only 19% of all income taxes, half of the 40% share they pay today. Why? Because they either worked less, earned less, or they found ways to shelter income from taxes so it was never reported to the IRS as income.

It's not pleasant being a Democrat in 2010, and its downright terrifying to be a Democrat up for reelection in 2010.

Card Check Passed in Lame Duck Session?

Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) says he may be able to pass the Card Check bill during the Lame Duck session.

Tom Harkin

Here's a Senator unashamed to admit he is "maneuvering" for shameful legislation:
"To those who think it's dead, I say think again," Harkin said on the liberal Bill Press radio show.
"We're still trying to maneuver," the Iowa Democrat added, explaining that if Democrats can't move the bill in its entirety, they might try to pass key parts of the union-organizing legislation individually.
The Iowa senator also raised the prospect on Thursday or trying to pass parts of the card-check bill during a lame-duck session of Congress at the end of the year.
"A lot of things can happen in a lame-duck session, too," he said in reference to EFCA.
A "lame-duck" session refers to the time Congress is in session after an election, during which members who might have retired or lost reelection still serve for roughly two months. Contentious legislation like EFCA is rarely moved during such a session, though the logic behind trying to move the labor bill during a lame-duck Congress is that lawmakers who might have opposed it for political purposes might be more inclined to support it.
Card Check is a way for Unions to deny a private ballot to Union voters. In other words, Union leaders will know exactly how you vote in Union matters. Card Check removes the "federally supervised" private ballot privilege. Read more about Card Check here, and if you come up with a democratic reason for stealing an employee's right to a private vote, let me know.

The real explanation for a "lame duck" vote is this: the politician is not coming back to Congress and so abandons all ethics, integrity and concern for their own constituency and votes opposite to how they would have voted had they been returning to Capitol Hill. In other words, they sell out. Nice.
