Blacks Target Hispanics in New York City: There Goes the Neighborhoods

Who knew this was a big problem in New York City. Blacks are attacking Hispanics. In one Staten Island neighborhood there are 11 suspected attacks.

Hispanics Targeted

There is some real irony here. Democrats promise Blacks entitlements to gain their votes. Democrats lobby to keep Hispanics in the country, legally or illegally - their votes are considered a Democrat-right.  Now Blacks, like jealous children are unhappy with the new stepchildren in the neighborhood. What did they call the same when Whites were uncomfortable with Blacks moving into their neighborhoods? Oh, I remember now, it was and still is, racism.

Of seven attacks sent to a Grand Jury, all but one was investigated as a "bias" crime - not a "hate crime." Does anyone out there know the difference, and wasn't a law passed to make "hate" a crime - not "bias?" I have a bias for the brand of ice cream I buy, but I don't hate the other brands.
And although most of the suspects were described as young black men and investigated for bias crimes, a grand jury has indicted only one of seven people arrested on a hate-crime charge.
But Isaias Lozano, a day laborer, said he knows why he was attacked and robbed in December by "morenos" - the Spanish word he uses to describe his black neighbors.
"They hate us because we're Mexicans," he said while sitting at El Centro del Inmigrante, a center for immigrant day workers. "They aren't robbing just anybody."...
In the last quote above, the man is described as an "immigrant day worker," but is he really an immigrant or an illegal migrant? According to the writer of the article linked above, America is trying to figure out how different ethnicity's can learn to live together. I assume Blacks calling Hispanics racists, doesn't resonate.

Others blame it on the illegal migrant debate, and particularly on Arizona:
Some community leaders here blame the attacks on hoodlums preying on day laborers, who are perceived as easy targets because they often carry cash home from work. Others say the Arizona law is stirring up a climate of intolerance, even these thousands of miles away.
"It's a cascading effect," said the Rev. Terry Troia, a board member of El Centro del Inmigrante. "There are negative impulses being put out there both nationally and locally. People on the fringe catch a piece of that, and they are acting on it."
A teacher says the presence of the newcomer's has "touched a nerve," and has "changed the texture of the neighborhood." Translated: "There goes the neighborhood." Get used to it. Help us send illegals home by voting Republican.

Black Hole Offensive to Blacks: Blacks Hear Black Whores: Hoops YoYo Pulled

A Hallmark graduation card telling kids they can do anything, accomplish anything, go anywhere in the universe, and...graduates are not afraid of "black holes,"has been officially pulled off store shelves, thanks to the NAACP. Hoops and Yo-Yo warn "black holes," you know the kind in the universe, to beware because these graduates are coming to discover exactly what they are? To the embarrassment of the black population, some hear it as "black whores." Hear Hoops and YoYo in the video below.

Hoops and YoYo Hallmark Graduation Card - Black Holes

The Hallmark graduation card has been on store shelves for three years. The micro-speaker opens with "Hey world, we are officially putting you on notice."

Members of the Los Angeles NAACP did take notice. As characters known as "Hoops" and "Yoyo" banter on, African American leaders hear offensive language.
"And you black holes, you are so ominous. Watch your back," the card vocalizes.
Even more encouragement:
Watch out, Saturn, this grad is gonna run rings around you!'"
Obviously the very popular Hoops and YoYo were referring to ominous black whores. There can be no mistake about it. LOL!
"That was very demeaning to African American women. When it made reference to African American women as whores and at the end, it says ’watch your back,’" said Leon Jenkins of the Los Angeles NAACP.
Hallmark says the theme of the card is the solar system:

...and emphasizes the power of the grad to take over the universe, even energy-absorbing black holes.
The card company says the card speaks about the power the grad will wield.
"The intent here is to say that this graduate is not afraid of anything," explained Hallmark spokesman Steve Doyal.
Here's how the Los Angeles NAACP spins it:

"You hear the ’r’ in there. ’Whores,’ not, ’holes.’ The ’r’ is in there," said Minnie Hatley of the Los Angeles NAACP.
"It sounds like a group of children laughing and joking about blackness, again," said another NAACP member.
Hollywood Grind offers one reason for this monumental screw-up by the NAACP:
There is such a thing as the black English dictionary that gives alternate pronunciations of English words that only some blacks use, so it is understandable that some blacks can’t hear the proper pronunciation of words like hole, and mistake it for whore, but that doesn’t mean the cards should be removed from store shelves.
Blacks that can’t hear correctly spoken English words as they are meant to be spoken should simply not buy the card, but instead they had to make an issue out of nothing.
I don't get the part about blacks hearing a 'r' that isn't there, just because they speak 'black English." Is their hearing impaired? The NAACP is about as despicable as the United Nations these days.

This is as embarrassing as Prince Charles, the Defender-of-the-Faith-to-be, proclaiming the 'spiritual principles of Islam. I give two thumbs up to Hoops and YoYo and Hallmark for understanding the worth and value of our graduates. Too bad Hallmark is pulling the card. My guess is it has nothing to do with offending anyone, and everything to do with an ACLU lawsuit. Cretins!

The Consequences of Refusing to Profile

The consequences of refusing to profile:

The top U.S. diplomat in Pakistan says the Obama administration does not know how many Americans might have disappeared overseas to train with al-Qaida or other terrorist groups.
The number is not thought to be large, but Ambassador to Pakistan Anne Patterson outlined a possible "nightmare scenario" — people holding U.S. passports receiving terrorist training then returning legally to the U.S. to commit violent acts.
She said in a speech Friday to the Pacific Council in Los Angeles that the U.S. is working with Pakistan and other governments to figure out how to identify such people.
She said after the speech "there are more out there than we know about."
Young Arab men flock from the U.S. with their American passports to Islamic countries. They can legally return whenever they want. We have no databases on these men to track a pattern, even though we know all Islamic jihad is waged by young Arab men. The consequences of refusing to profile: we haven't a clue to the identities or numbers of radicalized Americans, but we know they are out there.

Sarah Palin a Vessel for Mounting White Discontent? Sarah Palin a Fame Monster?

An op-ed in the New York Times written by...hmmm, can't recall his name, says Sarah Palin is a "vessel for mounting White discontent." He also says Palin is a "fame monster." What op-ed writer does not want to be famous? Doesn't want to be sought out for opinions, quoted among an adoring public, invited to speak at prestigious venues? How many political writers would turn down an opportunity to be a vice-presidential candidate on a ticket with a man he/she greatly admires?

The writer is impressed that Sarah Palin is now a Fox News contributor. Her sound bites fit well there, her timing is impeccable. She can hone her limited skills in the company of a broadcaster which the writer believes caters to a 95+% white viewing audience.

The author is dismayed that a "plurality" of Whites consider George W. Bush a better president than Barack Obama. He thinks Whites who did vote for BO did it because he was "Negro-Lite."

The man is clueless. At one time many of these "Whites" would have voted for Colin Powell, but it took only a few years to change their minds about the General. Today, millions of us would cast a vote for Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell or Herman Cain, and be grateful that we had the opportunity. Maybe we'll see Col. Allen West running for president one day. Maybe we'll hear more about Dr. Deborah Honeycutt, and Dr. Alveda King.

The fact is, any thinking person wants to vote for a candidate with the same love of tradition, values and common sense that we covet and plan to safeguard. It is about what we believe, just as I assume, Mr. Blah blah blah, that you are about what you believe. We have the opinions and beliefs of Justice Thomas, Mr. Sowell and Mr. Cain in writing - something we did not have from Barack Obama, other than the dreams of his father, and the audacity of his hope. We read them. We understood them. We didn't want any part of them.

The writer charges Palin with "baseless certitude" and "blind faith." Sarah Palin is the wrong person to accuse of having blind faith, and isn't it easy to talk about certitude in the context of nothing?

The editorial discusses not a single position that Sarah holds. It refutes nothing. It points out nothing to confirm the writer's own 'baseless certitude." It is a small-minded, cheap shot wrapped up in all-too familiar Black prejudice, political self-righteousness, and nothing more.

If Sarah Palin is a vessel for White discontent, then it is because she displays a love of tradition, values and common sense - the same ones we hold dear. But really, the vessel for white discontent is the ballot box. Come election day, we'll remember where to find it. We won't need anyone to sign us up to vote, or drive us to the polls. We revere that fought-and-died for vessel. It is our vessel of discontent, and we will use it well.

Are Evangelical Churches Drifting Left?

by Barbara Sowell

Did you wake up one Sunday morning and finally realize that you could no longer support or attend a church that has gradually embraced an anti-American – anti-Capitalistic gospel in the name of Christ? Did it suddenly dawn upon you that the ever-present term “social justice” is merely a code word for a Marxist view of redistributive justice wrapped in a thinly disguised Christian veneer? Have you visited church after church after church only to discover that something decidedly unchristian has crept into the gospel teachings replacing, by redefinition, all that has been sacred to Christianity for centuries?

We live in the Age of Heresy and what we have to fear is not the old cults that Christians have traditionally warned against for years. What we have to fear today is the steady drift to the political left that has distorted our many venerable institutions and well-known Christian denominations.

Today 100,000 local congregations and 45 million Christians are supporting leftist goals yet most of the members are still blissfully unaware. For a quick overview of this un-Christian indoctrination, please read: United Nations Entrenched Within Most Christian Denominations

The following information is from the leftist progressive blog called Queering the Church which is proudly proclaiming the Evangelical Christian churches “leftwards drift.”

Martha Cook of the Centre for American Progress reports that “Evangelicals Step Up For Marriage Equality”

Brent Childers used to call himself a “Jesse Helms Republican” who justified his homophobic beliefs through biblical interpretation. But last weekend, as he marched in the Equality March in Washington, D.C., he stood alongside his lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender friends in support of their full human rights. . . .

From The Rise of the Religious Left”

As Austen Ivereigh points out, Moore’s anti-capitalist preaching is quite in keeping with Catholic traditions of social activism. What’s less known is that evangelical Christian churches – the supposed mainstay of rightwing politics in the US – are showing a leftwards drift.”

“Nearly every major social justice battle fought in the US has been supported, if not driven, by religious groups – which in statistical terms overwhelmingly means Christians. It’s widely known that the historically black church has been a key player in promoting justice for African Americans – from the abolition of slavery to the civil rights movements – as well as championing initiatives that support marginalised communities, both black and white. Beneath the more notorious rhetoric of Obama’s former pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who at one point looked likely to irreparably fracture Obama’s presidential bid, we can find him preaching the acceptance of homosexuality and the importance of works as well as faith. Wright’s work at Trinity United Church of Christ, the church Obama was a member of for over 20 years, involves programmes for HIV/Aids sufferers, drug rehabilitation, and housing support for Chicago’s impoverished South Side communities.” . . .

For a thorough assessment of Wright’s church, Black Liberation Theology, and what the Catholic Pope also has to say about the dangers of Black Liberation Theology, please read Obama’s Marxist Liberation Theology Church.

From David Horowitz Newsreal on “queer theory:”

. . .For these new radical theorists, the enemy is no longer a ruling class, a hegemonic race or even a dominant gender. Instead it is the sexual order of nature itself. Oppression lies in the very idea of the “normal,” the order that divides humanity into two sexes. Instead of a classless society as the redemptive future, queer theorists envisage a gender free world.

A specter is haunting America’s universities, the last refuge of the political left. It is the specter of “queer theory,” the latest of the radical identity politics that have replaced class struggle and the classic proletariat in the schema of Marxist revolution. . .

Here are some links to other bits of news concerning Christianity this week:

Members of Iran’s tiny and much-persecuted Christian minority, they were arrested March 5 for “acting against state security” and “taking part in illegal gatherings” and left to rot in Tehran’s notorious Evin prison. Their families have tried to bail them out, to no avail. . . .

Politically correct white flight

Aaron M. Renn at the indispensable New Geography site has a fascinating analysis of a curious aspect shared by progressive urban havens like Austin, Portland and suchlike: they have relatively few black people in them. Excerpt:

This raises troubling questions about these cities. Why is it that progressivism in smaller metros is so often associated with low numbers of African Americans? Can you have a progressive city properly so-called with only a disproportionate handful of African Americans in it? In addition, why has no one called these cities on it? . .

Obama ‘Loathes’ and is ‘Disgusted’ by Israel

JERUSALEM – U.S. officials in recent days expressed to the Palestinian Authority that President Obama’s administration is “disgusted” with Israel, a top aide to PA President Mahmoud Abbas told WND in an interview. . . .

Organizing for America — a political action group for President Barack Obama — recently carried an entry on its website from ultra-left-wing professor Richard Falk, who said “Comparing the present-day Israel with Nazi Germany, one discovers that the majority of the Israeli policies are exact copies of the Nazi policies.”

Janeane Garofalo Beck Bachmann Limbaugh: Janeane Garofalo White Power Movement, Violence

Janeane Garofalo has found another way to say that whites in America are racist by naming white Obama critics as a "white power movement." She bashed whites for being "led" by "the Glenn Becks, the Michelle Bachmanns, the Rush Limbaughs," and accused teabaggers and 9-12ers of a "tacit nudging toward violence." Updates as available. See video below.

Janeane Garofalo

This time, Janeane puts up a buffer and says, of course, she is not talking about people who have policy differences - however, the people who do have policy differences are being "led" by Beck, Bachman, Limbaugh, et al. (NewsBusters quotes this lame libtard as saying "Limbow," which is I believe is where she spends most of her time these days).
Electorally, these white power people don't have their own party – maybe they will one day – so they are electorally-dependent on the Republicans.
According to this report in NewsBusters, Garofalo is distressed that "so few people are willing to say that yes it is racism, straight up racism...," This was:
...before confusing which party controlled segregationist southern states: “The Republican Party has been willing to carry water for racists in this country since about the 1950s.”
History has been so completely revised that perhaps Garofalo is innocent in her ignorance. Hall of Justice has some very concise commentary about the Republican Party:
The first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, took the nation to war for the cause of freedom. Republicans successfully executed the civil war and in response drafted the Constitutional amendments that, for the first time, gave African-Americans the right to vote, access to the justice system and equality under the law. It should be noted that these constitutionally guaranteed rights and privileges were curtailed by the Democrats and their allies on the federal and state judicial benches.
Many Democrats and liberals of today love to whitewash the history of the Republican Party or they speak of the Republican Party betraying its history. Nothing could be further from the truth... The Party worked with prominent African Americans such as Booker T. Washington to establish an efficient black workforce which in turn made up the backbone of the black economy.
The Party stood up for African Americans in the courageous fight against southern lynching, while success in the Democratic Party was measured by how much an individual opposed rudimentary civil rights for African Americans. While Republican Presidents, Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge, were speaking against racial segregation and Jim Crow laws in the very heart of Dixie, the Democrats were marching arm in arm with their brethren in white sheets.
Read more at Hall of Justice. No mention of Garofalo's obvious racism of claiming racism when there is clearly none. Her President was elected. Garofalo was appearing in the perfect venue, Real Time with Bill Maher.
It's obvious to anybody who has eyes in this country that tea-baggers, the 9-12ers, these separatist groups that pretend that it's about policy – they are clearly white-identity movements. They're clearly white power movements. What they don't like about the President is that he's black – or half black (applause) – and they, what also is shocking is that people keep pretending that that's not really the case with these people.
Updates coming.

Gamaliel Foundation Prayer to Obama: Hear Our Prayer Obama

A video like this is no longer shocking, and that is...shocking. This Gamaliel Foundation video offers prayers with the obsessed's reply "Hear our prayer, Obama, Deliver us Obama." See video and transcription below. It is important to note that Barack Obama is "one" with the Gamaliel Foundation. One of the founders of Gamaliel, Gregory A. Galluzzo, and ex-Jesuit priest, met with Barack Obama "on a regular basis" during the creation of this Gamaliel - a Black Liberation Theology - Saul Alinsky-ACORN-Community Organizing at it's worst-based group. At the same time, Obama was creating the Developing Communities Project. This was before Obama entered Harvard Law School. In the words of Galluzzo: (see video below)

When Barack decided to go to Harvard Law School, he approached John McKnight, a professor at Northwestern and a Gamaliel Board member for a letter of recommendation. When Barack was leaving he made sure that Gamaliel was the formal consultant to the organization that he had created and to the staff that he had hired. Barack has acknowledged publicly that he had been the director of a Gamaliel affiliate. He has supported Gamaliel throughout the years by conducting training both at the National Leadership Training events and at the African American Leadership Commission. He has also attended our public meetings.
Here is some background on the Gamaliel Foundation from Discover the Networks [snippets]:
Predicated on the notion that America is a land rife with injustice, GF agitates for social change by supporting the efforts of a network of organizations (the Gamaliel Network) whose goal is to allow for individuals to "effectively participate" in the political, environmental, social and economic arenas. GF offers, for its network affiliates, programs to teach techniques and methodologies for bringing about social change; ongoing consultations; and organizer recruitment campaigns. The Gamaliel Foundation derives its name from the biblical figure who, according to the New Testament, chastised the Jewish Sanhedrin (rabbinical court) for wanting to give the death penalty to Jesus's apostles.... The Gamaliel Foundation models itself after the activism of the 1960s radical Saul Alinsky, who authored the books Reveille for Radicals (1946), The Professional Radical (1970), and Rules for Radicals (1971). Alinsky's prescription for effective organizing consisted of the following elements: (a) Develop a "trade union in the social factory" to serve as a vehicle by which people in the neighborhood can bargain, strike, and struggle to advance their agendas; (b) create a power-oriented community organization willing to use militant, confrontational tactics; and (c) promote a democratic organization where organizers do not themselves lead, but rather develop local leaders so as to create the veneer of self-determination and grassroots democracy. The Gamaliel Foundation is a sponsoring organization of the Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride Coalition, which seeks to secure ever-expanding rights and civil liberties protections for illegal immigrants, and policy reforms that diminish or eliminate restrictions on immigration.
According to the report above, the group receives funding from George Soros's Open Society Institute, and others. Notice in the video the reference to the prophet Jeremiah.

Shoot Down Israeli Planes if They Attack Iran

By Findalis of Monkey in the Middle Is the advise that Zbigniew Brzezinski is giving to Barack Obama.

Zbigniew Brzezinski, who enthusiastically campaigned for U.S. President Barack Obama, has called on the president to shoot down Israeli planes if they attack Iran. “They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?” said the former national security advisor to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter in an interview with the Daily Beast. Brzezinski, who served in the Carter administration from 1977 to 1981, is currently a professor of American foreign policy at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in Maryland. “We have to be serious about denying them that right,” he said. “If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a 'Liberty' in reverse.’" Israel mistakenly attacked the American Liberty ship during the Six-Day War in 1967. Brzezinski was a top candidate to become an official advisor to President Obama, but he was downgraded after Republican and pro-Israel Democratic charges during the campaign that Brzezinski’s anti-Israel attitude would damage Obama at the polls. President Obama’s advisors have emphasized that the former national security advisor is not playing any unofficial role as advisor to the White House. His enthusiasm for President Obama has waned in the past several months. He recently told a London-based newspaper that the United States may be "sliding into a deeper conflict with various segments of the world of Islam.” because of the president’s failure to carry out his promises to the Muslim world. Brzezinski said the Obama administration is "diddling around" in trying to reach an “evasive compromise” between Israel and the Arab world.
What promises did Barack Obama make to the Muslim world that would make them love us? Could it be that he promised to destroy Israel? That has been the cry from Carter, Brezezinski, Powers, Wright, Ayers, Jackson, Sharpton, and the majority of people moonbats on the left. Perhaps that is the reason that Obama welcomes Iranian nukes? Or is it just that like the majority of African-Americans he just hates all Jewish people and want to finish the job that his idol Adolph Hitler started. I expect that Obama will follow this course of action. It is a shame that the US will not support the only democracy in the Middle East, and instead will try to throw Israel under the bus.

DDT, Delta Smelt, Americas Water: Glen Beck Carrie Underwood Video

Glen Beck today was talking about many things, DDT, the Delta Smelt and America's water supply, among them. I'm bringing Carrie Underwood into it. Glen is talking about the California farmer's desperate need for water, and I have a terrific video under the terrific video from Beck today - 2 videos. Water is being denied to farmers to protect the Delta Smelt which is a minnow. There's more to that story however. There is an ultimate motive, as there is always an ultimate motive with our current Socialist government. The motive in this case is Senate Bill 787, authored by Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI). The idea behind the bill, The Clean Water Restoration Act, is that the government grabs America's water. I wrote about this in May, and here is the introductory paragraph, which will give an example of how water - the most important resource everywhere in the world - can be used to control a people:

I was doing a post on the plight of Israel in 1967 when surrounding Arab countries were attempting to divert Israel's irrigation water. That water was a key player in the start of the 1967 War. No country can survive healthily without crop water.
Okay, that's Israel and that was 1967, but it is not a stretch that the government, our government, wants your pond. OpenCongress.org says s.787 seeks to amend the Federal Water Pollution Control Act to clarify the jurisdiction of the United States over the waters of the United States - which is a change from jurisdiction over only the "navigable waters" of the United States. The key words in the above paragraph are "water of the United States." Here is how the Clean Water Act defines these waters: The official term "waters of the United States" means, among other things (thanks to American Daughter ):
WATERS OF THE UNITED STATES- The term ‘waters of the United States’ means all waters subject to the ebb and flow of the tide, the territorial seas, and all interstate and intrastate waters and their tributaries, including lakes, rivers, streams (including intermittent streams), mudflats, sandflats, wetlands, sloughs, prairie potholes, wet meadows, playa lakes, natural ponds, and all impoundments of the foregoing, to the fullest extent that these waters, or activities affecting these waters, are subject to the legislative power of Congress under the Constitution.:
See what I mean about your pond? So Glen Beck today is talking about the lack of water in California and that the current focus on the "F" word, "fire," is not as important as another "F" word, "Farmer." Water is denied farmers because the Delta Smelt is protected. Here again is some of my commentary from May:
By now, you know that California farmers in the Central Valley are losing their farmland and their livelihood due to a two-inch minnow, the Delta Smelt. The government has taken the water from the farmers and given it to the minnow. What do you do when the gov'mt owns your pond - the pond your cattle drinks from and cools-off in, or the water in the fish-hatchery you own, or.... Senate Bill s.787 is not about the Delta Smelt, but the Delta Smelt is just one current and critical bit of evidence that proves what the government can do to us, if we allow it. Yes, you can put this off on the environmental "greenies" but, the governing body is "the government."
We might want to dismiss any evil intent in s. 787, but changing the designation of the original waters as set out in the original Clean Water Act of numerous years ago, from "navigable waters," to "water of the United States," which includes ALL waters, is a bit of a jump, and I just wonder why the government feels it necessary to control ALL of America's waters. There are a lot of crazy things going on, all of which have years of planning behind them by those dedicated to Socialism, redistribution of wealth, and worse. Control the water, control the health care. The Delta Smelt deprives Americans of food and livelihood - you'll see more about this in the second video below. DDT? Well I began thinking about DDT again during the last days of this year's American Idol. Former idol, Carrie Underwood - you know that gorgeous Okie who is a role-model-exceptionale (just recently partnered in a huge donation of musical instruments to her former high school in Checotah, Oklahoma) - well, anyway, Carrie was in Africa handing out mosquito nets to African mothers to help protect them and their children from mosquito bites, which are often deadly there. That brought to mind the fact that Rachel Carson convinced everyone that DDT was dangerous and toxic. It was banned in the U.S. in 1972. It is still legal in Africa but the use is discouraged - even thought some 3,000 people die, every day, - an African child dies every 30 seconds - in Africa from malaria alone. DDT is also considered effective in preventing typhus and typhoid fever. Nevertheless, the UN is trying to ban it worldwide. I think it is a good bet that Rachel Carson can be attributed with killing more people in the world than any other single person. There is worldwide suffering, even though, as you'll hear Beck report, there are no reports of DDT harming humans. People are still dying today. The mission is to supply mosquito nets. Are we ignorant or what? The first video is Glen talking about all of the above, (except Carrie Underwood), DDT, the Delta Smelt, America's water . He includes Van Jones - the Green Czar. Two important videos follow:
Glen Beck DDT, Delta Smelt, American Water (Video)
Americas Water - Delta Smelt (video)
Note: Senate Bill 787 had some action on June 17th. An amendment was added. More on this later. The co-authors are many and include all the usual suspects, including Boxer,Cantwell, Dodd, Durbin, Kerry,Leahy, Levin, Sanders, Schumer and sadly, Joe Lieberman.

J Street Deception: J Street Urging Support for Obama

The following article is by my friend Ben. You have probably read Ben's work before, and you know he has a long history of studying Islam. He backs up his work by quoting the words considered "holy" by Muslims. "J Street" claims it "represents Americans."

J Street At Obama's Table
J Street's stated goal is to put an end to Arab-Israeli conflicts, and to accomplish that goal, they support President Obama's plan for Israel to, among other things, surrender land serving as a barrier to Palestinian and Hamas aggressions.
J Street is the political arm of the pro-Israel, pro-peace movement. We seek to change the direction of American policy in the Middle East and to broaden the public and policy debate in the U.S. about the Middle East. We support strong American leadership to end the Arab-Israeli and Palestinian-Israeli conflicts peacefully and diplomatically...
The photograph above, bears the same title I have above. A caption to this photo reads:
I just left an extraordinary meeting with President Barack Obama, which he called to meet with the leadership of the American Jewish community. ~ Jeremy Ben-Ami
As you read Ben's article, keep this quote in mind because, this was the first time Obama met with Jewish leaders - some 7 months after taking office, and when the invitation was finally issued, it did not include the largest and oldest pro-Israel group, the Zionists Organization of America (ZOA). The J Street lobby has said:
Surrogates and right-wing political operatives in our community stopped at nothing in their efforts to sway Jewish voters against Obama."
Obviously, conservative "operatives" failed because 77 percent of the Jewish vote went to Barack Obama. Ben writes for Freedom Ain't Free & Take Our Country Back. Here is his important message: J Street posted a petition at Care2 petitionsite, seeking support for President Obama’s Anti-Israel foreign policy. Their supporting text is reproduced below, in block quote format and Ariel type face, interspersed with my comments.

The status quo in the Middle East is unsustainable – for Israel, for the Palestinians, and for the United States. Yet some in Congress are trying to undermine President Obama’s balanced approach to solving the region’s problems.

The status quo is constant, low level warfare periodically interrupted by extremely intense warfare, punctuated by constant threats. President Obama’s approach is not balanced, it leans to the Islamic side, letting the aggressors do as they please while constantly carping at Israel and making unreasonable demands for suicidal actions and policies.

Defenders of the unworkable status quo are whispering to the White House and Congress that supporting the President’s thoughtful and balanced approach to the Middle East could hurt them politically.

Supporting President Obama’s demand that Israel surrender will eventually contribute to the loss of their sinecures because a growing number of voters are becoming informed of the Islamic agenda which is being promoted by left wingers including President Obama.

Jewish-Americans, as well as Americans more broadly, must stand up to support President Obama’s sensible pro-Israel policy in the Middle East.

Now is the time to be Americans, to reject identity politics and the inevitable Balkanization to which it leads. Our national interest is exactly the same as that of Israel: complete, total and permanent defeat of Islamic aggression wheresoever dispersed over the face of the earth.

They’re saying that President Obama should only press the Palestinians or Arab States. Of course, Palestinians and Arab states should do more for peace – but so should Israel, specifically by heeding his Administration’s call to stop building settlements.

Only the aggressor can make peace without exterminating the aggressor. Israel can only make peace by removing Islam from all territory within rocket range. Islam can make peace by permanently abandoning Jihad. If Israel is to walk the path to peace, it must terminate in the Muslim Cemetery. Settlements are not an obstacle to peace. “Occupation” of “disputed territories” is not an obstacle to peace. Islamic doctrine is the obstacle to peace.

J Street, a new Jewish-led pro-Israel, pro-peace lobby, supports President Obama’s balanced and strong American leadership to achieve a two-state solution, because that’s the only way to secure Israel’s future as a Jewish, democratic homeland and to create a homeland for the Palestinian people. A two-state solution is also a vital American interest.

The only possible solution is a one state solution: Israel alone in the Levant. While there is an Islamic state within rocket range, there will be no peace. Arab pride as well as Islamic doctrine make peace absolutely impossible.

Your representatives in Congress need to hear from the majority of Jewish Americans and Americans generally who support Israel and the President’s balanced approach, including his call for a complete freeze on Israeli settlements.

Congress must hear from Americans who understand Islamic doctrine & practice and recognize the fatal fact that Islam is inimical to peace in all places, at all times.

“Jewish Americans”, “Muslim Americans”, “African Americans”, Mexican Americans” etc. need to decide if they are Americans or not. There is no place in our nation for Balkanization. United we stand, divided we fall. If you are not American, then go home, where you belong.

President Obama’s demand for termination of settlements, stopping all growth & development, removing check points and other security measures while sending money to the enemy and training & arming their militias is the peak of suicidal damnfoolery; it is imbalanced on the wrong side, and it must come to a halt!

I shall now proceed to show you exactly why America and Israel can never obtain peace by any other means than making Islam extinct.

  • 8:39. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.
  • 9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Muslims are commanded by their demon to fight atheists and pagans until all resistance ceases and only Allah is worshiped. Muslims are commanded to fight Jews, Christians & Zoroastrians until they are subjugated and extorted. Muslims who do not join or rigorously support the Jihad go to Hell. Muslims who go to war go to Paradise.

Because the bigots reading this are in denial, swearing that the cited ayat are mis-interpreted, mis-translated, mis-understood or anachronistic, I present confirmation from the hadith: codified Islamic oral tradition.

  • Sahih Muslim Book 041, Number 6985: Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.

The Muslims must hunt down and kill the last Jew before they can obtain admission to the celestial bordello. But, of course, that is anachronistic, not applicable in modern times. Of course, there is a vacant space between your ears.

  • Sunan Abu Dawud Book 14, Number 2526

    Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, “There is no god but Allah” and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist). The tyranny of any tyrant and the justice of any just (ruler) will not invalidate it. One must have faith in Divine decree.

Jihad is the original religion of Muslims; abandoning it in favor of productive pursuits will subject them to a curse which will not be lifted until they return to Jihad.

  • Sunan Abu Dawud Book 23, Number 3455:

    Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:

I heard the Apostle of Allah, (peace_be_upon_him) say: When you enter into the inah transaction, hold the tails of oxen, are pleased with agriculture, and give up conducting jihad (struggle in the way of Allah). Allah will make disgrace prevail over you, and will not withdraw it until you return to your original religion.

Obama Enlists Religious Left to Win Support for Healthcare Reform

by Barbara Sowell

Yesterday’s teleconference with President Obama, "40 Minutes for Health Reform," was organized by a network of religiously progressive faith-based organizations that support Obama’s plan to change our nation’s health-care system.

The 40 minute teleconference was the launch pad for a 40-day push to guilt-trip religiously naive Americans into accepting a public option for health care reform. It is no accident that proponents of Obamacare chose the symbolism of the number 40.

Jesus was tempted by the Devil after fasting for 40- days and nights in the desert. Appealing to pride, Satan challenged Christ to prove that He is the Son of God by jumping off the temple so that all can see the angels catch Him.

The Lord is tempted when He is in a weakened state, after fasting for over a month. Christ's fasting for 40 days and nights is also akin to the fasting of Moses (Ex. 34:28). God had promised that one would come after Moses who was like Moses (Deut 18:18). It may not be too much of a stretch to see this as pointing to the prophecy. In any case, we can expect that Satan will try His tricks when we are physically weak.

Jesus's scriptural response to Satan is a quote from Deuteronomy 6:16, "You shall not put the Lord your God to the test."

The nation is in a weakened state. We are tired of well over 40 days and nights of fruitless health care-reform debate. Obama hasn’t fared well as all polls show that the majority of Americans don’t want a public option. Now Obama is going on the offensive. He is again reaching out to the very churches that got him elected. Can the religiously left turn the tide?

Here’s their simple strategy:

According to the Orlando Sentinel, “Obama, who joined the last few minutes of the teleconference, used religious references such as "I am my brother's keeper" and said that misinformation being spread about reform had "a lot of folks bearing false witness." . . .

The implication is clear. If you think you are your brother’s keeper and you don’t want to bear false witness, then you will jump into the arms of awaiting health-care reform angels.

But, is Obama’s public option going to save our brother or eventually destroy him? Is it bearing false witness to point out that under a public option, health care rationing is a distinct possibility, and that the Democrats have failed to put wording in the current house bill that will insure that we won’t eventually pull the plug on someone’s Grandma???

Many of the 30+ organizations that participated in the teleconference are members of Obama’s White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, which President Obama established by executive order on February 5, 2009. The above link provides a partial list of members.

James Winfrey is Rosa Parks Arrested Sign Grabber: Maxine Johnson has Rosa Parks Sign

James Winfrey is the Rosa Parks arrested sign grabber. Maxine Johnson had the Rosa Parks sign. Mr. Winfrey, wearing a blue t-shirt with the word "volunteer" on the back, took a sign from the seat in front of the woman, Maxine Johnson, who is said to be a serial St. Louis Liberal activist. The forum took place at Jefferson College in Lebanon, MO and the College has a policy of "no signs." See the best video available of Maxine Johnson below.

Maxine Johnson

If the video is playing automatically, I apologize. I do not know how to turn it off until ready for viewing. In the video, you'll see three woman parade down the aisle with a sign picturing Rosa Parks plastered against their mid-sections. The meeting is already underway - McCaskill is already talking. The woman walk as though they are bridesmaids making their way to the alter. The crowd begins yelling "no signs, no signs." McCaskill must stop her presentation. Mr. Winfrey is standing just across the aisle from the woman with the sign, in his "Volunteer." He crosses the aisle, grabs the paper, crumples it and throws it on the ground as he walks back to where he was standing. The woman comes after him and others come after them both. Mr. Winfrey is arrested and she is escorted from the room. The controversy was on

did their usual crack reporting and got it all wrong. In an interview with CNN's Kirin Chetry, Maxine Johnson said this:
...the security guard said have your purse checked. We had the posters opened in front of our bodies and they were to pass at two other security officers. They checked our purses, and they saw the posters open wide on our bodies and they told us going into the gymnasium. You walk down the middle aisle and sit down on the floor, and then all of a sudden the crowd start saying hey put up your signs, put up your posters, put up your signs. And I was just curious because I knew it was a Rosa Parks sign, the highway we just got off of was called Rosa Parks, and I couldn't understand the connection between the Rosa Parks sign and the hearing. It was no relation. And finally, I just told the senator yes, ma'am, senator, we will comply and I sat down in my seat, rolled the sign up, and a reporter asked to take a picture and the gentleman to my right in the bleachers suddenly leaped from the bleachers, ran to me.
Sometimes, when you want to believe you are in the middle of fracas, your mind works quickly, as did Ms. Johnson's daughter:
And it happened so quickly my daughter said he twist my arm, pushed me on to her, snatched the sign out of my hand and as he walked away I realized that he crumbling up my sign. And before I knew it, I leaped out of my seat to go retrieve my sign. And I snatched it from him and said don't you take my sign. And before I knew it, I had four or five officers on me and one on him.
The video clearly shows that Winfrey didn't touch her, let alone twist her arm or push her anywhere. When it is played back in slow motion, you can can see Winfrey's left hand on the chair in front of Johnson and he grabs the sign on the seat of that chair with his right hand. Once you see the video, it's clear that it was probably one of the two women with her that abused her arm.

Later in the conversation, Johnson said she was able to go to the emergency room to get her arm checked out (presumable the one that Winfrey "twisted,"). She was very proud of the fact that she has good health care and she wants it for everyone, and that's why she was at this forum. Chetry didn't have the guts to ask Johnson why she believes ObamaCare will provide insurance equal to what she has today. You'll see the difference in her story and the video below. Chetry asks Johnson why she said there was a "racial element" to the incident:
Well, they looked at me and said can't you read? Can't you read? As we looked around the room, there were several people in the room that had other signs. There was a person that had a sign that says "Ni**er, Obama." Obama's like Hitler. And you know, my point is, there were signs that were not allowed, why did the officers allow this in the room? And then we complied and there were other people with signs, they were not black.
There was about 3,000 people, about 30 African Americans and then I asked another and I said, what was the problem it was Rosa Parks, a historical figure. Why was it such a threat? A woman says it wasn't Rosa Parks. You were the threat, you are a black woman. (INAUDIBLE) the people who took our report, they say, ma'am, we cannot guarantee your protection. You must leave this town. We cannot protect you. You don't know these people. They're nasty. It was clearly racial.
There was some more conversation from Johnson, something like: "McCaskill, she's not black. She doesn't know the struggle that black[s] have to... (and the rest was inaudible). I did find a video (not posted here) of three others in the crowd holding yellow "Don't tread on me" flags. The flags were held by each corner. They looked to be the size of a piece of notebook paper. I think one man was telling a police officer that the flag said the same thing the logo on his shirt said.

There are numerous wide shots of the crowd and there are no sign of signs anywhere else in the audience, let alone signs with the "N-word." In the video, you'll hear Johnson saying "there were no Blacks or African Americans in the crowd. You see at least about 8 Blacks in the video. McCaskill apologizes for "two people" getting involved who should not have.

A question for McCaskill: could Mr. Winfrey been charged with seeing to it that no signs were visible - after all he was a volunteer, apparently for Jefferson College because McCaskill said he was not on their team. This video is from ConservativeTVOnline. I plan to go back often.

Please take a few minutes to watch this video - stick with it to the end because there is plenty of misinformation that this video debunks. This real reporting - the kind that CNN doesn't have a clue about.

James Winfrey - Maxine Johnson

A note: The above photo of Ms. Johnson was allegedly taken at a Spring protest. Ms. Johnson's home is embroiled in an eminent domain battle. If what I have read is correct, her home is slated to be taken from her to make room for a "planned redevelopment project. If this is the case, I wish her the best because I am completely opposed to homes and businesses being snatched for any reason except for a national highway - and even then...

Henry Louis Gates Inkwell, AfricanDNA: Henry Gates in Martha's Vineyard, on Newt Gingrich

The Professor Henry Louis Gates story just gets more interesting. As America's pre-eminent Black scholar, Gates spends his life engaged in intellectual pursuits, traveling, charity and resting at his home on Martha's Vineyard. Along with being the director of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard, Gates opened a "for-profit" business, AfricanDNA.com, in 2007. What is interesting about this is that a percentage of the profits from AfricanDNA.com are donated to Gates' charitable venture, the Inkwell Foundation. See a video below.

Martha's Vineyard

Professor Gates, through AfricanDNA.com, traces the genealogy of "prominent Blacks." This in Dr. Gates' words:
"I was able to trace the family trees of several prominent African Americans deep into slavery, following the paper trail. And then when the paper trail ended, we tested their DNA in an attempt to discover the origins of their mother's line or their father's line on the African continent."
When Professor Gates returned to his house that fateful night when his neighbor reported that he was breaking and entering, Gates said he had just returned from a trip to China. A spokesman for him said he was inivestigating the genealogy of famous cellist, Yo Yo Ma. Ma is not Black, he's Chinese, born in Paris to Chinese parents. Perhaps Ma paid for the trip?
The office for Inkwell Foundation is located in Professor Gates' Cambridge home, owned by Harvard University. In 2008, this report from Boston.com says that the Inkwell Foundation "has been dormant since its inception." (Thanks to afTicker at Jus' Sayin')
Jill Butterworth, a spokeswoman for the state Attorney General's Office, says Inkwell has never filed the required, annual form PC, for public charities. "They are currently not in compliance," Butterworth said. "It's possible they are inactive or have dissolved. We are checking into it." Gates declined to comment.
Quite frankly, this story is astonishing as there is much, more more. I'll give you the quick flavor and then link the pertinent documentation. In some fashion Henry Gates raised $205,400 for Inkwell in one year. Of that, $27,000 was paid out in grants. Twenty-three individuals were paid $27,500. The 23 individuals include Angela Delon. Not much is known about her except that it is believed that Delon called Gates to tell him that Obama had just mentioned him on national TV in connection to Cambridge police.

Delon received $6,000. Joanne Kendall, as Inkwell's treasurer, received $10,000 in "research grants." Another $10,500 went out to grants, totalling $27,500. Joanne Kendall is Gates' assistant. Dell Hamilton received $1,000. He was, or is, the Events Coordinator for the Dubois Institute which Gates directs at Harvard. Nancy Brigham Cyr was an "administrator" for Gates. She has recently been named the administrator of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research. She received $500 and she works for Gates. Eric Foner, a professor at Columbia received $500. John Stauffer collaborated on a NY Times editorial with Gates and received $500. This list, in this vein, goes on and on.

Allegedly, Inkwell has $177,000+ in assets, unspent. And it's tax filings seem to be non-existent. Read it complete with documentation at RiehlWorldView. On July 21st, the Washington Post quoted Charles Ogletree, also a Harvard professor, saying that Gates is "resting on Martha's Vineyard." According to Gates, the arrest was "deeply painful and traumatic," and besides that Gates says he is "half-white," "was married to a white woman for more than two decades," and his children are part white."

He is not, he said, a lunatic black nationalist." So while Gates is perhaps receiving an unknown perk from Harvard through his rented home, and runs his non-profit organization out of that home, he owns a home on Martha's vineyard. Stephanie Gutman, writing for the TelegraphUK, describes it this way:
On the northeast side of the island is the charming neighbourhood of Oak Bluffs whose “big, sprawling homes with large yards and gorgeous architecture” (as one real estate website put it) are the summer home of “prominent African American leaders … famous black writers, politicians, judges and artists”, people like Spike Lee and Oprah Winfrey. President Obama summers here too.
While at Martha's Vineyard, Gutman suggests he will spend his time as follows:
He will work on a documentary, presumably for his regular venue, the taxpayer-subsidized Public Broadcasting Service, which he says will ask: “How are people treated when they are arrested? How does the criminal justice system work? How many black and brown men and poor white men are the victims of police officers who are carrying racist thoughts?”
President Obama and Michelle will be taking their summer vacation on Martha's Vineyard. It's bound to a funfest. I don't see why the taxpayer should be paying for a beer in the White House with Obama, Gates and Sgt. Crowley. Obama and Gates can get together this summer on the Vineyard and Sgt. Crowley will be well-served to heed my advice: try to get out of that meet-and-greet, if you can. You will not be well-served by going. Just ask Newt Gingrich. You can't win with people of this mindset. Noel Sheppard at Newsbursters found the video below, via HotAirPundit
A video circa 1996 has just surfaced of Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates speaking in front of a group about racism and affirmative action.
In it, he defamed Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as well as former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.
Read this story of a White man being racially profiled (sure it happens!).

Update: 8-12-09: I previously linked an Inkwell Foundation that is a charitable organization for children. That Inkwell Foundation is not Professor Gates' foundation. The Inkwell that Gates funds is said to be dedicated to reforming the teaching of science and history in inner city schools using genetic and genealogical ancestry tracing."

Barack Obama Unpaid Cambridge Tickets: Sgt. Crowley Update, Crowley News Conference

President Barack Obama has said the Cambridge police acted "stupidly" when they arrested Harvard professor, Henry Louis Gates. This is not the first time Barack Obama treated the Cambridge police with little respect. Of seventeen parking violation he received in Cambridge, fifteen went upaid until he began his presidential campaign.

Barack Obama

NewsMax.com reports that as a student in Cambridge (1988-1991) while attending Harvard University, Barack Obama received 17 parking violations and paid only two. I guess a future president can park wherever he pleases. (Thank you to geeeeeZ!).

According to The Somerville News, the tickets included parking in a bus stop, parking without a residential permit and failing to pay meters. My car would have been towed and a lien placed on my house. When the 2007 presidential campaign ramped up, Obama paid the remaining upaid 15 tickets. That's the height of arrogance...okay, maybe not the height - that would be presidential cabinet picks who haven't paid their income taxes, but it is a close second.

Obama campaign spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, apparently said the tickets were not relevent. The background on the Obama/Gates/Cambridge police story is that Professor Henry Gates, a Black man and a revered African-American scholar and documentarian, returned to Cambridge from a trip to China recently. It was about midnight when he arrived along with his "driver." Gates had trouble opening his front door and so one of the two men put their shoulder to the door and eventually knocked it open.

Sgt. James Crowley

A neighbor, also Black, called police and reported that two Black men were breaking into the house. The police arrived, and according to police reports, Professor Gates initially refused to provide I.D. to Sgt. James Crowley of the Cambridge police. Crowley also called the Harvard University police to the scene. He refused to tell Crowley whether or not anyone else was in the home. He immediately, again according to a report by another policeman, began yelling that Crowley was racist and "this is what happens to Black men in America."

As the police were leaving Gates come out on his front porch and continued the rant, including "You don't know who you are messing with." Gates was arrested for disorderly conduct. The charges were later dropped. Gates' account is, of course, completely different. He did nothing wrong, did not harrass the police, etc. I see numerous rants around the internet that support President Obama's statement, given during a prime time address to the Nation on health care:
Obama called Gates a friend, and said he doesn't know all the facts of the case. Nonetheless, Obama said, anyone would have been angry if treated the way Gates claims police in Cambridge, Mass., treated him. Gates, a Harvard University professor, claims he was arrested in his home after showing ID to police who responded to a report of a possible burglary.
"Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof he was in own home," Obama said during a prime-time news conference that otherwise focused on the health care debate.
What I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there's a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately," Obama said. "That's just a fact."
That disparity is a reminder that "race remains a factor in the society," Obama said.
Those supporting Professor Gates' behavior believe that the man was in his own house and should have been left alone, no matter how angry and out-of-control he became. What about the safety of the police? Do Blacks care that this police officer had to enter a home, verify who was in the house for his safety as well as Gates', as he would have done in a home belonging to Whites or Hispanics?

The police were called to the scene. They didn't show up for a pogrom. Obama doesn't see what the fuss is, but there is definitely a fuss going on. I think he knew exactly the reaction his words would have. A man in his position doesn't say the police acted "stupidly" without intending to send a message. Obama has drawn criticism from Blacks lately for not being outspoken enough about racism, and for recently saying that Blacks have to do more in our own lives, our own families and our own communities...". Rev. Al explained Obama's surprising upbraiding of the Cambridge police this way:
Have some people wanted him to bring this up sooner?" asked civil rights activist, the Rev. Al Sharpton. "Of course, we have. But the timing had to be right. He had the courage to take a position at a time when he knows some people will disagree."
And this from another pillar of the Black community:
"No one wants to talk about race," said Donna Brazile, a Democratic strategist and ABC News consultant. "He [Obama] does not inject race into the conversation regularly because it clears the room. There are designated times, like Martin Luther King Jr. Day or when we have a large gathering of black folks, like at the NAACP recently, but that's about it."
Sgt. James Crowley made national news once before. As a Bradeis campus police officer, he was on the scene at Brandeis University when Celtic star Reggie Lewis collapsed and died in 1993 during an off-season practice. He gave Lewis mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, but failed to save him.
Some people were saying ‘There’s the guy who killed Reggie Lewis’ afterward. I was broken-hearted. I cried for many nights,” he said.
Crowley, 42, said he’s not a racist, despite how some have cast his actions in the Gates case. “Those who know me know I’m not,” he said.
Sgt. Crowley has taught a racial profiling class at the Lowell Police Academy for five years, along with a Black police officer. About 60 students go through that class each year.
He’s a very professional police officer and he’s a good role model,” Fleming [Lowell Police Academy director] said. “Former police commissioner Ronny Watson, who is a person of color, hand-picked Sgt. Crowley. ... I presume because he would be the most qualified and most professional. He’s a very good instructor. He gets very high reviews by the students.”
Lawrence Hickman, a black Boston police officer who also teaches at the academy, said he’s worked alongside Crowley for years now and has nothing but the highest respect for him.
“He’s well versed in the subject matter he taught,” Hickman said. “He is the right instructor for the subject material ... I’m an African-American police officer, If there were any issues or if I thought he was biased, I would have addressed that. We all do the same job and we all know how things get spun out.
The bottom line is he was there answering a call for help, he responded as a professional police officer.” Fleming said Crowley gets no extra money for teaching the class, which requires him to drive from Cambridge to Middlesex Community College in Lowell. He said the academy is well respected and it is used by cops from 53 communities across the state, including Lowell, Cambridge and other cities and towns.
Professor Gates is unhappy that Sgt. James Crowley and the Cambridge police will not apologize. Tsk, tsk. Now he thinks he will sue the Sergeant and/or the Cambridge police. The latest news is that Cambridge police are pondering the release of the 911 call that brought them to the house and other transmissions that may have been recorded.
Further, Sgt. James Crowley noted in his report that he radioed police headquarters to let them know he was with the person who appeared to be the home’s lawful resident, but who was “very uncooperative.”
Upon receiving Gates’ Harvard ID, Crowley wrote he radioed in to request “the presence of the Harvard University Police.”
PRESS CONFERENCE LIVE BLOGGING: At this moment, the Cambridge police are holding a news conference. Just a few live-blogging snippets: One speaker said that when President Obama said that the police acted "stupidly," he used the right adjective but directed it to the wrong party." They reject that racism guided the arrest. On speaker says that the Cambridge police should have an apology, but I am unclear whether that apology is requested from Gates or Obama or both. A later speaker said there are no "demands" for an apology.

A spokesman stated that Obama acknowledged that he didn't have all of the facts, and so should have said nothing, saying "in our view there was nothing "stupid" done." Gates controlled the outcome. The spokesman said Obama "implied" a link between what happened and problems with persons of color and law enforcement. That is not true in Cambridge and was not true in this case. The Cambridge police are now wishing that the charges had not been dropped so that a "trial of fact" could go forward, rather than this playing out in the press.
