J Street Deception: J Street Urging Support for Obama

The following article is by my friend Ben. You have probably read Ben's work before, and you know he has a long history of studying Islam. He backs up his work by quoting the words considered "holy" by Muslims. "J Street" claims it "represents Americans."

J Street's stated goal is to put an end to Arab-Israeli conflicts, and to accomplish that goal, they support President Obama's plan for Israel to, among other things, surrender land serving as a barrier to Palestinian and Hamas aggressions.

J Street is the political arm of the pro-Israel, pro-peace movement. We seek to change the direction of American policy in the Middle East and to broaden the public and policy debate in the U.S. about the Middle East. We support strong American leadership to end the Arab-Israeli and Palestinian-Israeli conflicts peacefully and diplomatically...

As you read Ben's article, keep this quote in mind because, this was the first time Obama met with Jewish leaders - some 7 months after taking office, and when the invitation was finally issued, it did not include the largest and oldest pro-Israel group, the Zionists Organization of America (ZOA). The J Street lobby has said:

Surrogates and right-wing political operatives in our community stopped at nothing in their efforts to sway Jewish voters against Obama."

Obviously, conservative "operatives" failed because 77 percent of the Jewish vote went to Barack Obama. Ben writes for Freedom Ain't Free & Take Our Country Back. Here is his important message: J Street posted a petition at Care2 petitionsite, seeking support for President Obama’s Anti-Israel foreign policy. Their supporting text is reproduced below, in block quote format and Ariel type face, interspersed with my comments.

The status quo in the Middle East is unsustainable – for Israel, for the Palestinians, and for the United States. Yet some in Congress are trying to undermine President Obama’s balanced approach to solving the region’s problems.

The status quo is constant, low level warfare periodically interrupted by extremely intense warfare, punctuated by constant threats. President Obama’s approach is not balanced, it leans to the Islamic side, letting the aggressors do as they please while constantly carping at Israel and making unreasonable demands for suicidal actions and policies.

Defenders of the unworkable status quo are whispering to the White House and Congress that supporting the President’s thoughtful and balanced approach to the Middle East could hurt them politically.

Supporting President Obama’s demand that Israel surrender will eventually contribute to the loss of their sinecures because a growing number of voters are becoming informed of the Islamic agenda which is being promoted by left wingers including President Obama.

Jewish-Americans, as well as Americans more broadly, must stand up to support President Obama’s sensible pro-Israel policy in the Middle East.

Now is the time to be Americans, to reject identity politics and the inevitable Balkanization to which it leads. Our national interest is exactly the same as that of Israel: complete, total and permanent defeat of Islamic aggression wheresoever dispersed over the face of the earth.

They’re saying that President Obama should only press the Palestinians or Arab States. Of course, Palestinians and Arab states should do more for peace – but so should Israel, specifically by heeding his Administration’s call to stop building settlements.

Only the aggressor can make peace without exterminating the aggressor. Israel can only make peace by removing Islam from all territory within rocket range. Islam can make peace by permanently abandoning Jihad. If Israel is to walk the path to peace, it must terminate in the Muslim Cemetery. Settlements are not an obstacle to peace. “Occupation” of “disputed territories” is not an obstacle to peace. Islamic doctrine is the obstacle to peace.

J Street, a new Jewish-led pro-Israel, pro-peace lobby, supports President Obama’s balanced and strong American leadership to achieve a two-state solution, because that’s the only way to secure Israel’s future as a Jewish, democratic homeland and to create a homeland for the Palestinian people. A two-state solution is also a vital American interest.

The only possible solution is a one state solution: Israel alone in the Levant. While there is an Islamic state within rocket range, there will be no peace. Arab pride as well as Islamic doctrine make peace absolutely impossible.

Your representatives in Congress need to hear from the majority of Jewish Americans and Americans generally who support Israel and the President’s balanced approach, including his call for a complete freeze on Israeli settlements.

Congress must hear from Americans who understand Islamic doctrine & practice and recognize the fatal fact that Islam is inimical to peace in all places, at all times.

“Jewish Americans”, “Muslim Americans”, “African Americans”, Mexican Americans” etc. need to decide if they are Americans or not. There is no place in our nation for Balkanization. United we stand, divided we fall. If you are not American, then go home, where you belong.

President Obama’s demand for termination of settlements, stopping all growth & development, removing check points and other security measures while sending money to the enemy and training & arming their militias is the peak of suicidal damnfoolery; it is imbalanced on the wrong side, and it must come to a halt!

I shall now proceed to show you exactly why America and Israel can never obtain peace by any other means than making Islam extinct.

• 8:39. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.
• 9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Muslims are commanded by their demon to fight atheists and pagans until all resistance ceases and only Allah is worshiped. Muslims are commanded to fight Jews, Christians & Zoroastrians until they are subjugated and extorted. Muslims who do not join or rigorously support the Jihad go to Hell. Muslims who go to war go to Paradise.

Because the bigots reading this are in denial, swearing that the cited ayat are mis-interpreted, mis-translated, mis-understood or anachronistic, I present confirmation from the hadith: codified Islamic oral tradition.

• Sahih Muslim Book 041, Number 6985: Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.

The Muslims must hunt down and kill the last Jew before they can obtain admission to the celestial bordello. But, of course, that is anachronistic, not applicable in modern times. Of course, there is a vacant space between your ears.

• Sunan Abu Dawud Book 14, Number 2526

  Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

  The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, “There is no god but Allah” and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist). The tyranny of any tyrant and the justice of any just (ruler) will not invalidate it. One must have faith in Divine decree.

Jihad is the original religion of Muslims; abandoning it in favor of productive pursuits will subject them to a curse which will not be lifted until they return to Jihad.

  Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:

  I heard the Apostle of Allah, (peace_be_upon_him) say: When you enter into the inah transaction, hold the tails of oxen, are pleased with agriculture, and give up conducting jihad (struggle in the way of Allah). Allah will make disgrace prevail over you, and will not withdraw it until you return to your original religion.

Now I've Seen Everything!

by Findalis This one has to go into the record books for one of the dumbest criminals ever. There is no other term to use.

A high-ranking white supremacist on the run from US federal authorities was arrested on Monday night in a south Tel Aviv hideout. 33-year-old Micky Louis Mayon, one of America's 100 Most Wanted criminals, and a member of the Ku Klux Klan, was arrested in a Florentine apartment by the National Immigration Authority's newly formed Oz enforcement unit. Mayon is wanted in the US on charges of racist assaults, setting fire to vehicles belonging to federal agents, and a host of violence incidents. The Oz unit was acting on intelligence relayed by Interpol, which informed authorities here that Mayon had entered Israel illegally.

He is said to have moved apartments often in order to evade police, but his efforts proved fruitless on Monday when a delicate operation by the Oz unit saw officers break into his hideout and arrest him. Oz unit members have the powers of a police officer but can only use them in cases of illegal entry into the country. Mayon was the subject of an American arrest operation in November 2007, but officers soon realized he had flown to Israel on a one-way ticket. Earlier that year, he reportedly fired his gun in the air repeatedly after being involved in an argument with an African-American. US authorities have described him as a dangerous fugitive. Oz Unit head Tziki Sela said Mayon was surprised to be arrested, but cooperated with the officers. He has been transferred to a Holon jail facility, where he underwent an immigration hearing. He was then taken to an Israel Prison Authority jail facility.

Did he really believe he could pass in Tel Aviv as a Jew or a Zionist? What made him think that he would be safe and secure in Israel? Maybe Israel will become the new haven for criminals and their like. One day the Israel Oz unit could be apprehending such notables as Osama bin Ladan, the heads of Hamas and Hizbollah, and Ahmadinejad when the people of Iran finally kick him out.

America and Israel: Factionalism in a Time of War

Sultan Knish blogging "from NY to Israel" reports daily on the pulse of Israel, the evil behind the hate in the Middle East and the folly of appeasement. When I'm reading Knish, I always feel as though I'm watching the future being played-out, as though I'm on the inside witnessing very personal events... events that will change my life. Today, Gaza has fallen to Hamas, the majority of our Senate is abandoning the rule of law, and Israel awaits its enemies. He has given me permission to reprint one of his posts in its entirety. Get ready to be propelled into the moment.

When Brothers Become Enemies Factionalism in America and Israel in a Time of War

The sentiments and the narrative here are of course universal ones-- the virtues, unity and military strength of a nation becoming corrupted by factionalism. The more the factions within a nation hate each other, the more eager they are to battle one another than the enemy. A nation busy fighting itself cannot defeat the enemy. The surest way to victory is to create fifth columns, to divide a nation against itself and set itself to internal bickering. Israel fell both times because it was divided, because factions and kingdoms quarreled against each other, unable and unwilling to unite-- even against a common enemy. The most dreadful reason for that is that they hated each other more than they did the enemy. When George Washington delivered his farewell address warning against factionalism, it was because he had already bitterly experienced the assaults conducted against him by former allies like Thomas Jefferson's faction and Thomas Paine. That factionalism crippled the United States going into the War of 1812, resulting in a near defeat. It escalated and eventually served to worsen and eventually contribute to the Civil War. Factionalism helped delay US entry into WW2. It caused the American defeat in Vietnam. It gave us eight years of the Clinton Presidency which viewed conservatives, not Islamic terrorists as the real threat. Clinton's Democratic successors continued and continue to think that way after 9/11. To liberals the gravest threat that requires their immediate response did not come from Osama Bin Laden-- but from George W. Bush. Despite occasional outward gestures, that has not changed and has instead only grown more so. The Democratic party had become so mired in factionalism that it was incapable of recognizing any threat that did not originate from the Rush Limbaugh show. That deliberate blindness cost the lives of thousands and yet nothing would be learned from that. If Liberals had invested a fraction of the effort into fighting terrorism that they invested in fighting the Republicans-- the cultural war at least would have been won. Instead they have done everything possible to undermine the War on Terror from spreading lies to smearing troops and serving as the PR corps for the terrorists. In Israel the Labor socialists had repeatedly treated Zionists and Nationalists as the real enemy. During the resistance against British rule, their top figures including deceased former Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek, collaborated with the British authorities in informing and even kidnapping and torturing Irgun and Lehi members. During the start of the War of Independence, Ben Gurion ordered future Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin to open fire on the Altalena, a ship carrying a large cargo of arms along with future Prime Minister Menachem Begin-- because he had refused to comply with the socialist leadership's orders to hand over all arms on the ship-- rather than divide them. It was the same old story when Rabin as Prime Minister now-- signed a deal with Yasir Arafat under the aegis of the Clinton Administration-- that set up Palestinian terrorist controlled territories within Israel's borders and treated the settlers with contempt-- even as his police brutally crushed protest rallies. After Rabin's death, the campaign of hatred aimed at conservatives in Israel really took off. Offices belonging to the Likud were smashed and the media did its best to try and paint Netanyahu as being responsible for the assassination. Leah Rabin announced that she would rather that her children marry Arabs than settlers. Even as the terrorism grew worse, Labor socialist Prime Ministers from Rabin to Peres to Barak continued a campaign of hate against the settlers, as if they-- rather than the terrorists these very same governments had invited into the country-- were to blame. That attitude reached its culmination under Sharon and Olmert with the forcible expulsion of thousands of Jews from their home so as to expand the territory of the terrorist Hamas state-- which employed the rubble of those destroyed homes as launching pads for the next wave of rockets pounding Israeli towns and villages. As police brutality against the settlers escalated, the foreign funded peace activists-- who included Olmert's own wife and daughter and son-- engaged in increasingly violent provocations and protests. And the very same government which papered over the worst crimes of the police when it came to settler rallies, immediately shifted into condemnation when soldiers defended themselves against foreign pro-terrorist activists. All the energy directed into internal warfare is energy directed away from national defense. The better the factions within a nation get at fighting each other, the less energy they have for fighting the enemy. "As we wax hot in faction, In battle we wax cold: Wherefore men fight not as they fought In the brave days of old." An army is not merely a tool, it is an assembly of citizens ready and willing to give their lives for a nation. When a nation's government and cultural elites send the message that fighting the enemy isn't worth dying for and is immoral in any case-- that army's morale drops until it becomes increasingly useless. Its generals become political generals just waiting to retire, write their books and perhaps go into politics. Taxes increase as the factions maneuver and work to raise money for their campaigns against each other and to pay off the various sectors of the population whose support they wish to buy, e.g. unions, senior citizens, bureaucrats, minorities. Jobs vanish but this is of little concern to the factions which prefer a dependent citizenry over an active and prosperous one. Immigration expands greatly as one or more of the factions see the new pool of prospective citizens as an appealing new gullible base for their voting pool. Thus Israel's secular governments have imported massive amounts of non-Jewish Russians to balance out the growth of the religious population and ignored assaults and anti-semitic attacks against religious Jews and finally destroyed the homes and economic and family lives of thousands of religious Jews-- with plans to destroy tens of thousands more. In the United States the push to legalize illegal Mexican immigrants is building to a crescendo as many Democrats and Republicans believe that they have the potential to boost the voting base of one side or the other. The distortion of rhetoric has allowed the media to recreate the issue in terms of civil rights and hatred of immigrants-- rather than in common sense legality and illegality. In Europe, socialists increasingly rely on a Muslim voting public and pander to it using populist Anti-American and Anti-Israel rhetoric, while opposing Anti-Terrorist measures in their own countries. Factionalism ultimately destroys and disintegrates a country in the face of an enemy invasion. Islamic terrorists know this quite well, which is why they pander to the left, reciting material from Michael Moore films and forming ties with left wing college professors and intellectuals-- as they successfully exploit our domestic fifth column. In Israel millions from the EU help to fund organizations like Peace Now dedicated to the dismantling of the State of Israel by undermining its national defense and expelling tens to hundreds of thousands of Jews from their homes. In the United States millions more pour into the coffers of organizations like MoveOn from overseas funders like George Soros. Factionalism makes a country an easy target for the enemy. A house divided against itself cannot stand. The potential to unite a nation exists by cutting the divisive elements out of the picture and appealing directly to the people. That requires a leadership with great integrity and incorruptibility that can transcend politics and deal fairly with all sectors of society and transcend corporate allegiances and old geographical alliances for a new way. The alternative becomes the inevitable battle Lincoln was forced to confront. Yet Lincoln's America only had to fight an internal enemy. Had the Republic been forced to fight both an internal and external enemy at the same time-- it would not have survived. A house divided against itself cannot stand up to the enemy. ...he sees it in the detention camp in Guantanamo and in the prisoner abuses at Abu Ghraib in Iraq.

The Left|Democrats are attempting to make money from Abu Ghraib, as our military protects their pathetic souls from an enemy that will gladly show them the difference between an incinerator and a leashed dog, and they will gladly do it in the heart of every town square in America. Democrat Barack Obama stood in front of this nation and publicly imaged evil as the 9/11 perpetrators, AND America's detainee prison at Guantanamo Bay AND Abu Ghraib, where a small handful of soldiers brashly humiliated, but did not kill, the enemy. Obama sees detention of the enemy as "equal evil" to bringing down the World Trade Towers. A bit of underwear on your head, a dog in your face, some nude photos and a soldier dragging a prisoner around on a leash. Yes, it is contemptible but it is not close to a comparative evil. While Obama had the camera, and while he wanted to speak of evil, why would he choose these particular American examples, among all the evils in the world? The answer, of course, is that he is appealing to those who hate America, and for the sake of gaining the office of President, he hits low. I can post photos of the real face of evil for the sake of controversy, there are thousands out there, and I can debate the merits of going into Iraq or not, cite or link to research, quote politicians, and we can disagree about American action in Iraq, BUT...how can we accept our leader's constant drumming about Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib without acknowledging the deceit behind the words? It is the Democrat attempt to discredit America in the worst way, by shaming this country - and it is all for political gain. Guantanamo is legal, Abu Ghraib has been dealt with. Neither have been ignored. Fight it if you believe it should be fought, but take a hard look at real Evil, and it's deep desire to settle itself on your doorstep. Update: Arabs Inside Israel Seek Peace

Israel’s worldview is even more daunting these days. Syria is bolstering its borders and the obvious conclusion is that Syria may have plans for attacking Israel. Israel is attempting to calm its Nation, but cannot afford to view Syria’s action in any light other than “threatening”. Here’s some of the dialog going around: The Syrian armed forces are being strengthened in an unprecedented way in recent memory with the help of generous funding from Iran and its troops appear to be moving closer to the border with Israel. Israeli military officials dismissed a report of a build-up of Syrian forces on the border. The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, spoke to ease Israeli tensions Sunday after the French press agency reported that Syria had positioned hundreds of medium-range rockets on its side of the Golan Heights. Syria is also close to concluding a deal with Russia to procure thousands of advanced anti-tank missiles, of the sort Hezbollah used to such lethal effect against Israeli armour last year, Haaretz reported. The recent Fatah-Hamas Mecca Accord, designed to achieve a Palestinian unity government, is just as puzzling as all past attempts to gain statehood for Palestine. The report, known as The Future Vision of the Palestinian Arabs in Israel states its purpose as “…answering the question, "who are we and what do we want for our society?" This is a question all Palestinians must ask. Everyday life for the average Palestinian will remain desperate until they deal with their leadership. For some background on this very question, I recently posted Who and What are Palestinians? It is a bulleted, easy-read on the early history of Palestine, Arabs and Israel. “The Future Vision” report can be seen as a fairly naked appeal from the Arabs residing inside Israel, to the people of Israel, to “treat us as equals.” Compared to the Jew-related “Arab-speak” we have become all too familiar with, this document seems restrained even as it accuses Israel of “exploiting democracy in the service of its Jewishness…”. The “Vision” asserts a firm foundation for the indigenous rights of Arabs to Israel and calls for “…an independent Palestinian State, based on UN resolutions. Have you read those Resolutions lately? Resolution 242 is dated November 22, 1967 and there's an undated follow-up, Resolution 338. I think it's fair to say these Resolutions are not resolving anything. Reports from the Nazareth bureau of the Los Angeles Times latimes.com shows conflicting reactions from Israelis; some see a growing militant minority, some fear a state within a state, most see a threat to Jewish identity, and those who have advocated for better conditions for Arab residents “feel disheartened.” More from latimes.com:

"Shawki Khatib, head of the 64-member Arab mayors group, said the manifesto was not an ultimatum but an effort to catalog Jewish discrimination against Arabs and provoke debate over how Israel's two largest communities should live together."

And more:

“The Future Vision” document (also referred to as a "manifesto" by latimes.com), seeks conditions of peace and prosperity with Israelis. Palestinian leaders will never allow it".

I see other conflicts: Hamas, Fatah, the Palestinian Liberation Organization, and then there’s the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. An independent Palestinian State just isn’t on the agenda for any of these factions, unless it includes every square inch of an Israel without Jews. The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) points to the absurdities surrounding any Palestinian leadership’s acceptance of Israel as a neighbor. In the following excerpts from ZOA, referring to the Baker Hamilton Report (also known as Iraq Study Group) regarding Israel and Palestine, I have eliminated referenced page numbers for easier reading. The text of the cited PLO, Fatah and Hamas "Articles" are included after the ZOA material. Here’s the quotes as well as the ZOA’s response:

“Baker Report: Arab-Israeli peace efforts should include "Support for a Palestinian national unity government" of Fatah and Hamas Fact: The Baker Report calls for negotiations with "Palestinians (those who accept Israel's right to exist)" yet both Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah and Hamas, in their respective Charters, call for Israel's destruction ( see Fatah: Article 12; Hamas, Article 15) and the use of terrorism (Fatah: Article 19; Hamas: Article 7). Hamas also calls for the murder of Jews (Article 7). In October 2006, Mahmoud Abbas admitted that in his view neither Fatah nor Hamas need recognize Israel.”

And the second point from ZOA:

“Baker Report: Seeks "A Syrian commitment to help obtain from Hamas an acknowledgment of Israel's right to exist". Fact: This recommendation exemplifies the absurdity and lack of rationality that permeates the Report. Hamas is dedicated in its Charter to the destruction of Israel (Article 15) and the murder of Jews (Article 7). Why would Hamas heed the Syrian regime to change its raison d'etre when Syria itself not does recognize Israel's existence, hosts several Palestinian terrorist groups and rejected Israel's offer of all of the Golan Heights in negotiations in 2000? The Report is characterized by an unwillingness to acknowledge the actual nature and goals of the Syrian regime.

Follows the text of the specific Articles referred to above: (“Hamas” Articles are taken from “The Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas):

Fatah Constitution Article 12: "Complete liberation of Palestine and eradication of Zionist economic, political, military and cultural existence." Fatah Constitution Article 19: Armed struggle is a strategy and not a tactic, and the Palestinian Arab People's armed revolution is a decisive factor in the liberation fight and in uprooting the Zionist existence, and this struggle will not cease unless the Zionist state is demolished and Palestine is completely liberated.

Hamas Charter Article 7: Follows just a portion of Article 7, which according to the Hamas Charter, quotes The Prophet Allah:

"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).

Hamas Charter Article 15: Follows just a portion of Article 15:

The day that enemies usurp part of Moslem land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Moslem. In face of the Jews' usurpation of Palestine, it is compulsory that the banner of Jihad be raised. To do this requires the diffusion of Islamic consciousness among the masses, both on the regional, Arab and Islamic levels. It is necessary to instill the spirit of Jihad in the heart of the nation so that they would confront the enemies and join the ranks of the fighters.

"The bond of one day for the sake of Allah is better than the world and whatever there is on it. The place of one's whip in Paradise is far better than the world and whatever there is on it. A worshipper's going and coming in the service of Allah is better than the world and whatever there is on it." (As related by al-Bukhari, Moslem, al-Tarmdhi and Ibn Maja). "I swear by the holder of Mohammed's soul that I would like to invade and be killed for the sake of Allah, then invade and be killed, and then invade again and be killed." (As related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).

Then just to back-up the fervor of the Palestinians for their mission, there’s this from The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Charter:

Iris.org - The PLO Charter Article 15: The liberation of Palestine, from an Arab viewpoint, is a national (qawmi) duty and it attempts to repel the Zionist and imperialist aggression against the Arab homeland, and aims at the elimination of Zionism in Palestine. Absolute responsibility for this falls upon the Arab nation - peoples and governments - with the Arab people of Palestine in the vanguard. Accordingly, the Arab nation must mobilize all its military, human, moral, and spiritual capabilities to participate actively with the Palestinian people in the liberation of Palestine. It must, particularly in the phase of the armed Palestinian revolution, offer and furnish the Palestinian people with all possible help, and material and human support, and make available to them the means and opportunities that will enable them to continue to carry out their leading role in the armed revolution, until they liberate their homeland.

Regarding the above PLO Charter Article 15, iris.org says this:

“The text is the English version published officially by the PLO, unabridged and unedited. Note, however, that the PLO's translation sometimes deviates from the original Arabic so as to be more palatable to Western readers. For example, in Article 15, the Arabic is translated as "the elimination of Zionism," whereas the correct translation is "the liquidation of the Zionist presence." "The Zionist presence" is a common Arabic euphemism for the State of Israel, so this clause in fact calls for the destruction of Israel, not just the end of Zionism.”

A portion of Article 9 of the Charter states that:

“Armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine. Thus it is the overall strategy, not merely a tactical phase. The Palestinian Arab people assert their absolute determination and firm resolution to continue their armed struggle and to work for an armed popular revolution for the liberation of their country and their return to it….”

So, while quoting the Zionist Organization of America may appear a biased source, the text of Palestinian Charters, Covenants and Constitutions puts it all into perspective.

"The main message is that we do not accept our situation as second-class citizens," Khatib said. "We want to change that situation, and we prefer to change it through dialogue."

The same article points out how the Arabs residing inside Israel feel “…alienated by the Star of David on Israel’s flag…”. Have we ever heard of the offense Israel must feel at the hostile flags surrounding their tiny nation? Has dialogue with Palestine ever been other than deception? As Arabs in Israel seek “self-recognition," are Israelis expected to ignore the Hamas support from the very Arabs sharing their land? Is Israel to believe that these same Arab residents would not take the land and expel them, or worse, if given any opportunity? Latimes.com reports that nearly half of the Arabs living inside Israel live below the poverty line. Is Israel expected to provide better homes, lands, services and education than Palestine provides to Palestinians? Are Arabs in Israel poorer than the Arabs in Palestine? I don’t know the answer, but I’m doubting they could be poorer – perhaps “as” poor, but probably not “poorer”. Whatever the intentions of the Arabs led by Mr. Khatib, the PLO, Hamas and Fatah will never allow conciliatory measures on behalf of Israel, unless it leads to the complete surrender of Israel to Palestine. Arabs living inside Israel are seeking change. According to a new report commissioned by the Committee of Arab Mayors in Israel, Arabs are “moving towards a new era of self-recognition…”.
