Cleaver Story Changing: Emanuel Cleaver Hit with Spit or Not?

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) has been in the news for being spat upon during the Tea Party protests outside the Capitol on the day of the health care vote. In an interview this week, FOX4News asked Cleaver if he is claiming that he was deliberately spit upon. Cleaver would not answer the question, and said he just wanted to put the incident behind him. See the video below.

Emanuel Cleaver
"All I'm saying is we all have to diffuse it, and I think it is not in my best interest or in the best interest of this nation to stoke it," said Rep. Cleaver. "I've avoided doing and I will continue to do it."
Umm hmmm.

This FOX4 report quotes Cleaver claiming that he "never...reported a single thing...."
"I haven't talked about this incident on TV or anywhere, and I've been approached to talk about it on every national TV show," said Rep. Cleaver in an interview with FOX 4 News. "I never, I never reported anything, never a single thing in Washington, not one thing. People assume I went somewhere, never done press conference, never done an interview on it and I'm not going to do it."
But as Weasel Zippers points out, Cleaver absolutely did claim to have been hit with spit. This is the statement released by Cleaver's office:
This afternoon, the Congressman was walking into the Capitol to vote, when one protester spat on him. The Congressman would like to thank the US Capitol Police officer who quickly escorted the others Members and him into the Capitol, and defused the tense situation with professionalism and care. After all the Members were safe, a full report was taken and the matter was handled by the US Capitol Police. The man who spat on the Congressman was arrested, but the Congressman has chosen not to press charges. He has left the matter with the Capitol Police.
Cleaver says if the "spraying" (not spitting) had not been caught on tape, no one would have known about it, but really, it took several days to discover the video that caught the incident, and the whole world already knew about it because every Democrat, as well as Cleaver's office, was talking about it, and cursing Tea Partiers at the same time - and don't we know, someone had to tell his staff all about it to release their official statement.

Tulsa World Leonard Pitts Racist Remarks About Tea Partiers

This is as unprofessional as a newspaper gets. Columnist Leonard Pitts, printed in the Tulsa World has decided to take as gospel the claims of members of the Black Congressional Caucus that Tea Partiers called the Caucus the "n" word, and someone even spat on Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO-5th). Pitts carries the lies like a badge of honor and doesn't even bother to the us "alleged" word.

Congressional Black Caucus

Before printing an incendiary piece like this, I would think there should be some proof - some confirmation, before you begin labeling people racists. This is a low as a newspaper and/or a columnist gets. There are many, many videos of the Congressmen walking through the protesters and in not a single one of can you hear the "N" word. The group was videoed up close and personal. You can tell the camera was very close to the protesters. Really, it is just vile to do what Leonard Pitts has done.

One of Pitts' opening snippets:
So it turns out that, contrary to what I argued in this space a few weeks back, racism is not "a major component" of the so-called tea party movement. I am informed of this by dozens of tea party activists indignant and insulted that I would even suggest such a thing.
In other news tea party protesters called John Lewis a "nigger" the other day in the shadow of the U.S. Capitol. For the record, Lewis wasn't their only target.
Pitts just thinks it is a shame that Black Caucus member, and civil rights activist Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) had to hear these terrible words. After all, Lewis "faced it in Nashville in 1960," "he faced it on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma."

Lewis said "they were just shouting, harassing...." Really...shouting? No one heard it.
"Never did I hear any type of racial slur," said William Owens, a black Tea Party activist from Nevada who joined in the D.C. protests Saturday.
In fact, Lewis didn't hear it either. He passed the charge to a "colleague." Remember when Lewis compared John McCain to George Wallace? Remember that Whites are not allowed membership in the Congressional Black Congress. I assume the current members believe Whites, or Hawaiians, or Native Americans, or Asians have no good interest in the welfare of Blacks.

Mr. Pitts, meet your Congressional Black Caucus, the CBC, that fawned and swooned all over Raul and Fidel Castro in their 2009 visit to Cuba. Digraceful! Despicable!

From Human Events' Humberto Fontova
Last week, the Stalinist regime that jailed and tortured the longest suffering black political prisoner in modern history (Eusebio Penalver) rolled out the red carpet for six gullible  members of the U.S. Congressional Black Caucus. All of these U.S. legislators met with “President” Raul Castro while a lucky three secured back-stage passes to meet Fidel himself.
“He looked directly into my eyes!” gasped Rep. Laura Richardson (D-Calif.) “and then he asked: how can we help President Obama? Fidel Castro really wants President Obama to succeed."
"It was quite a moment to behold!" hyperventilated Rep. Barbara Lee. (D-Calif.) “Fidel Castro was very engaging and very energetic."
“He’s one of the most amazing human beings I’ve ever met!” gushed Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.)
“Raul Castro was a very engaging, down-to-earth and kind man,” according to Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) “someone who I would favor as a neighbor. It was almost like visiting an old friend," (A Freudian slip, perhaps? Bobby Rush, after all, was a card-carrying Black Panther who did prison time.)
[HUMBERTO FONTOVA] Racism is one of the cornerstones of the Castro regime. As Fidel's close friend and ally, the murderous Ernesto "Che" Guevara, once said, "The Negro is indolent and spends his money on frivolities, whereas the European is forward-looking, organized and intelligent...We're going to do for blacks exactly what blacks did for the Cuban revolution.
Remember when Rep. Barbara Lee, Caucus head, said Rep. Joe Wilson's yell "you lie" during an Obama speech was racist? What? Wilson was referring to Obama's spin on health care, and today we know Wilson's words to be true, and none of it has anything to do with race.

The Portland Civil Rights Examiner pointed out that many of the 42 members of the CBC ended up in Congress courtesy of the disgraced ACORN facing multiple charges of voter fraud.
To further the hypocrisy of this group, a very high percentage of these people got into their offices through what is now a Taxpayer funded partisan Democrat group. ACORN, which according to its own manifesto reads like The 25 Points of Hitler's Nazi Party  - which they mildly name “ACORN People's Platform”  the only difference being that ACORN’s Manifesto is written in less threatening language, the better to be consumed by those who refuse to disseminate what their words and goals actually mean! The icing on this cake of hypocrisy is they claim to be Non-Partisan…. If this is their definition of  “Non-Partisan” then indeed, pigs are flying. (Or is that Swine Flu?)
These claims are likely a battle cry for Tea Partys. The Temple of Mut reports that their Tea Partys will now do their own videography of their events to guard against charges from those following in the footsteps of the Congressional Black Caucus. Isn't that sobering? The American people must defend themselves from Congress.
Our Tea Party group is now actively seeking videographers for our events. We are planning ahead, as it has become obvious that when the media want to promote a template, they are willing to buy any statement outright to promote that world-view. No investigation needed — move right along people and accept Obamacare as a done deal. Therefore, we intend to capture and release as much videotape as we can get of our future rallies, including our April 15th events. THIS is how true Americans respond under the pressure of lying, tyrannical representation.
Caucus member Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) said he heard ni**er at least 15 times - yet not another soul heard it. Cleaver said it was a "chorus." No one other than the Caucus heard it - in fact no other Caucus member is claiming to have heard it. Watch the videos. If this epitaphet was uttered 15 times you would hear it on at least one of the videos all over the Internet. We will see how this fleshes out as Andrew Breitbart has offered $10,000 to be donated to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) for proof of just 1, not 15, audible utterance of the "N" word coming from the crowd around the Caucus that day.

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver said he was spat upon. There are stories of arrests - but the Capitol police said they arrested no one. That story proved to be that Cleaver was accidentally "sprayed upon," not "spat upon." A Capitol Hill policewoman was standing right next to Cleaver and there were no arrests. It was an accident and not a significant one. Cleaver magnanimously said he would not press charges. I would think not, and besides, Cleaver couldn't i.d. the man, or he probably would have stooped that low.
However, U.S. Capitol Police said the protester was never arrested. He was only detained and put in handcuffs, then released.
Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, spokeswoman for the Capitol Police, told FoxNews.com the individual was released because Cleaver couldn't identify him.
"There were no elements of a crime, and the individual wasn't able to be positively identified," she said. "(Cleaver) was unable to positively identify."
Mr. Pitts, need we remind you that the CBC shot their own video footage - and it proved nothing. There weren't even any cell phone photos from staffers. What you have done is inexcusable, and it is a disappointment that my own paper, The Tulsa World, stooped to print it. It is a terrible, terrible thing to label a group of Whites, or any group, racist with no proof...no proof except the word of the Black Caucus which has never hesitated to label anyone and everyone a racist if it benefitted them.

Emanuel Cleaver Sprayed Upon - Not Spit Upon Video Proof

Now we have video proof of the Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) claim that a member of a Tea Party protestor spit on him is not exactly accurate. As these jokers, or members of the Congressional Black Caucus prefer to be called, walked through the crowd, Cleaver said he was spit upon. The odd thing was, there was no arrest with a Capitol Hill policewoman walking with him, there were no charges brought by Cleaver because he couldn't i.d. the guy...and there was no "spitting," but seems there was some "spraying." See the video below.

At about 1:15 in the video, you can see a man with his hands cupped and Cleaver walking by. As the man yelled, it appears from Cleaver's body language, some saliva "sprayed."

We're all human. This could happen and it isn't pleasant when it happens to you, but hardly represents "spitting," which would be a conscious act.

Note that you also hear not a single "n" word being shouted, although Rep. Carson (D-IN) claims he heard it 15 times.

Eric Cantor Shots through Office Window: Jim Clyburn Republicans are Aiding Terrorism

Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) is on FOX News this minute saying that a bullet was shot through the window of his Richmond, Virginia office last night. Since joining the Republican leadership, Cantor says he has received numerous threats, some because he is Jewish. Cantor says Democrat leadership are "fanning the flames." Perhaps this refers to Rep. Jim Clyburn's (D-SC) claims that Republicans are aiding terrorism. See Clyburn's statement in the video below.

In a press conference this morning, Cantor said these threats are nothing new, but they must stop. He accused Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Tim Kaine, chairman of the DNC of "dangerously fanning the flames by suggesting these incidents be used as a political weapon." I'm reminded of the Congressional Black Caucus parading through the midst of Tea Partiers AND others outside the Capitol this weekend as Democrats prepared to pass health care. The Caucus claims shouts of the "n" word, at least 15 times, and Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) said he was spit upon...but in all the many videos there are no "n" words used, and nothing to back up Cleaver's claims, except his buddies in the Congressional Black Caucus - who race-bait and fling racist accusations without provocation.

Since threats are in the news, but only Republican threats on Democrats, never Democrat threats on Republicans, here is some history to refresh your memory

Remember when Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) compared John McCain to Alabama Governor George Wallace? See more examples of Obamabots and how they protest  Republicans. One more.

Here's a good one from August 2009, when Obamabots protested at a Town Hall where Virginians were telling their representatives they did not want this version of health care - note the word "Euthanize:"

Euthanize the Fearmongers - Virginia - August 2009

Let's take a look at the threats and violence directly connected to the man himself, Barack Obama:

1) Senator Barack Obama, in full presidential campaign mode, using Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) to threaten McCain-Palin supporters with Missouri law enforcement intimidation? Can't mention his drug use, his hidden background, his aunt in the U.S. illegally allegedly with her own American social security card, or his close associations to ACORN and the Gamaliel Foundation.
In Missouri, Obama allies, from a U.S. Senator to a local sheriff, threatened criminal proceedings against television stations tht air anti-Obama commercials. Such "police state tactics" prompted Gove. Matt Blunt to charge Obama's campaign with "abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism."
2) Threatening the NRA and cable and TV stations
ObamaNation used the same strategy against the National Rifle Association when its political fund released ads to enducate gun owners about Obama's hostile record. Bob Bauer, attorney for the Obama campaign, urged cable and television stations in Pennsylvania to "immediately cease" airing the NRA's ads, because the campaign determined they were "false, misleading and deceptive."
3) Threatening American Issues Project
Similarly, Bauer pressured the U.S. Justice Department to prosecute the non-profit American Issues Project and one of its donors over an advertising campaign that exposed Obama's alliances with domestic terrorist-turned-university professor William Ayers who has reflected, "I don't regret setting bombs...I feel we didn't do enough."
4) Threats to journalists probing Obama's background:
A more sinister intimidation befell journalists....The Chicago Tribune reported that Obama's campaign used its database "listing contact information for millions of people" not onl for raising money but "to beat back media messages it does not like."
Even liberal commentator Andrew Sullivan called the Obama tactics "a disgraceful attempt to intimade journalists trying to get at the facts."
5) No explanation needed for the many times Obama has used the race card on America.

6) And one of the most importants threats coming from Barack Obama to American voters is the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panthers - which Attorney General Eric Holder dismissed, and on behalf of all Americans, Republicans are trying to revive.

Remember when Bill Clinton staffers vandalized the White House, held as a National Treasurer by most of us, as they exited, leaving it in shambles, with missing computer keys and stolen china?
Glue was smeared on desk drawers. Messages disparaging President Bush were left on signs and in telephone voice mail. A few of the messages used profane or obscene language...."A Secret Service report documented the theft of a presidential seal that was 12 inches in diameter from the Eisnehower Executive Office Building...graffiti derogatory to Mr. Bush...in men's room...especially offensive or vulgar...the cost at $13,000 to $14,000...GSA estimated that it cost $3,750 to $4,675 to replace missing doorknobs, medallions and office sign and the large presidential seal....
Bush officials said they had found offices ful of trash, broken furniture and filthy carpets. The Clinton administration officials insisted that the dirt and damage reflected normal wear and tear.
The New York Times report above called the Clinton staffer's "pranksters."

Lee Harvey Where Are You?

Zomblog has cataloged many, many threats on G. W. Bush, as well as the many times those threats were followed-up by authorities:
...in the past, whenever someone threatened Bush at a protest, there was a deafening silence on the part of the media and the left-leaning blogs, and consequently very little (if any) follow-through on the part of the Secret Service....
And the only reason I'm publishing the essay is that many Obama supporters -- to my astonishment -- now claim that Bush was never threatened at protests. ~ Zomblog.
Democrats are all wee-wee'd up that Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) had a brick thrown through her window, as she schemed to help Pelosi use an illegal maneuver to pass health care. But Republicans have had campaign headquarters and officials' offices vandalized many time:

MCCAIN-PALIN: RNC Chairman Robert M. "Mike" Duncan said in a statement over the weekend that "violent intimidation tactics" have been adopted by some supporters of Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama.~ WSJ Oct 2008  and today, at least one shot fired through the window of an Eric Cantor offices

Black Caucus Lies About Tea Party Yells of "Ni**er? - Two Videos

A major online source reported Tea Partiers verbally assaulted the Congressional Black Caucus, in front of the Capitol, yelling ni**er, , and one Tea Partier is accused of spitting on Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO). Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) said he heard the "n" word 15 times. But a video seems to show just the opposite. If the "n" was used over and over on the Caucus-walk, you would surely see it in one of the videos below - one courtesy of Daily Kos, accusing "the man in the straw hat." - but it just isn't there. Will the Caucus claim both videos have been tampered with? CBC, CNN, NBC, MSNBC CBS all reported the assault, without video. This morning, still no retractions, still no claims of tampering. HuffPo, will you look into Black Caucus lies?

The Hill reported that the 'spitter' was arrested, but MSNBC, which does not mention the arrest, has an email from Capitol Police Sgt. Kimberly Schneider saying "We did not make any arrests today." Nevertheless, Democrats took to the House floor and "decried" the protesters. Similar delusion in the second video below where a Kos poster thinks a man in a straw hat is yelling "ni**er."

Congressional Black Caucus Lies?

There is zero evidence of the spitting or the racist epitaphs. I can find no videos of the assault. There is no video of Cleaver cleaning himself from the spit of a white racist. The magnanimous Cleaver said he would not press charges. Translated: he has no proof. Do we really think he would not make everything he could out of Tea Party spit? There were many cameras outside the capitol, but there seems to be no proof of the calls of ni**er. When was the last time we saw the Congressional Black Caucus not take advantage of perceived racism.

The Daily Kos is showing a similar video describing it as "Teabaggers attacking...." LaurenMonica at DailyKos linked to TPM's report and said she could not finish watching the clip because it makes her "sick and angry at the same time. Strange. TPM doesn't have a video in this post. So, assuming she is talking about the video below, which shows nothing significant, it doesn't take much to push her over the edge.

The same Kos article has an explanation of the yells of "ni**er:"
Listen closely. It's not the whole crowd but it is the guy in the straw hat. Notice how he cups his hands turns to shout directly at the black man walking in front of him.
After crowd shots "kill the bill" he adds "then the n***er." He does it twice, once at 12 seconds, again at 14 seconds. Then he stops because the man he's shouting at is out of earshot. Not that I think he heard himm in the first place.
But anyway, here we have video evidence of at least one teabagger shouting racial slurs.
What??? Friends, there nothing there that can be heard or seen for this poster to make that claim. Nevertheless, Michael Steele, chairman of the Republican National Committee, and an official of Tea Party Express condemned the "racial slurs."

Lies? Man in Straw Hat Yelling - Yes, But What? (video)

Gateway Pundit reminds us: "REMEMBER: These radical liars will stop at nothing to ram their socialist agenda down America's throat. And, the state-run media will report their racist filth without question."
