John Cornyn Still Supports Charlie Crist: Marco Rubio Out Raises Crist $3.6M to $1.1M:

Marco Rubio out-raised Charlie Crist in the first quarter of 2010 by $2.5 million. Crist began his fundraising efforts in the second quarter of 2009 raising $4.4 million. It was downhill from there. In the third quarter Crist brought in only half of the previous quarter - $2.5 million. By the fourth quarter, Rubio was close, raising $1.76 million to to Crist's $2.1 million. By the end of March 2010 Rubio's coffers were plush with $3.6 million to Crist's $1.1 million. But it makes no difference that Floridians can clearly distinguish a Conservative from a RINO - Senator John Cornyn and his committee of "Senatorial pickers" still support Crist.

Once again, can't help but think how misguided the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) can be, as they endorsed Crist practically before he was even running, and unfortunately continue to follow the error of their ways. NRSC chairman, Sen. John Cornyn said he is "honor-bound to leave it as it is." So Rubio joins other worthy and conservative candidates without support from their own Party.

Last Spring, the NRSC threw its support behind Crist...Cornyn defended the endorsement as "selfish." After meeting with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who opted out of running for the seat, he said Crist was seen as "the ideal candidate" because he's a good fundraiser."

Florida Republicans passed controversial education reform which ends teacher tenure, and will pay teachers according to the achievement of their students - known as "merit pay."  Florida teachers are not happy about it and they are pressuring Crist to veto the bill. Crist said no other issue has put as much pressure on him as this bill, passed by his own party. Early-on he supported the bill. Now he's not sure. He has to make a decision by Friday April 16th.

Crist said one of the most important things a public servant can do is "listen." He is listening, he says. The question is always, to whom are you listening? The people who want to clean up the schools, and want their children to learn, or the powerful Teacher's Union?

Jeb Bush has endorsed Marco Rubio "kinda-sorta." Some are theorizing that if Jeb comes out and publicly endorses Crist, Crist will let the bill pass. If not, then he vetoes the bill. This is a stellar reminder of why we do not want Floridians to send Charlie Crist to the U.S. Senate. His vote is always up for sale.

Rubio still trails Crist in total fundraising some $6.9 million to $10.1 million, so keep the funds rolling-in to Rubio.  He will need it as we draw nearer to November. For some biographical background on Rubio, read this.

John Cornyn Health Care: Cornyn No Conviction for Constitution: Sallie Mae: Health Care Lays Off 2500

Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) has signaled that he does not have the conviction to believe the new health care law is unconstitutional. He is leaning more and more to reworking health care, and focusing on jobs. What is it that our legislators do understand about "unconstitutional," thus "illegal?" He is buying the Democrat load of poo, and while the government adds to its payroll, the private sector will struggle to stay alive - everything will come at the behest of the government. To make the point right of the gate: Sallie Mae has announced the government takeover of student loans is forcing them to layoff  2,500. Friends, the government creates absolutely no wealth. What happens to a government with no wealth producers? Take a look at 90% of the world's countries living with no private sector wealth. This is unthinkable for America, yet with this president, it is a possibility.

Democrats are doing what they do best. Selling. Cornyn is buying. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) publicly said that the issue of "repeal" is a sticky one for Republicans, because it is telling people something will be taken away from them. Menendez is not talking about the money out of our pockets, the loss of privacy between us and our doctors, the loss of control of our medical records, the loss of quality health care, the loss of employment as physicians retire and go elsewhere, and the loss of the relevance of the Constitution.

Cornyn has clearly relegated the U.S. Constitution to his "I'll get to it later" pile, or worse, to the trash heap of inconvenient rules and regs. 

Cornyn wants to focus on the "misplaced priorities of the administration." He wants to focus on jobs.

Can't we focus on more than one attack on our citizens at a time? Pound them on both, and "up" the talk on immigration, please. The Democrats do it. We can too. Repeal the bill, and then put the portions you want to keep back into the new legislation. The American people trust nothing in this bill. Start over and get some conviction! If you don't believe the legislation is unconstitutional, we do. What if we are right?

Think about it, Cornyn. ObamaKare is a job killer AND it is unconstitutional. Sallie Mae is sounding a warning bell. Come out and tell the American people minorities will be the beneficiary of our tax money by funding government loans, minorities schools will be the beneficiary of our tax money, and once graduated, all loans will be forgiven if you go to work for the government for a certain period of time. Here is a frightening thought: Cornyn is the head of the committee that choses which Republican candidates to support with GOP monies, and which will be not be supported. We need to watch this man like a hawk. He supported Charlie Crist and DeDe Scozzafava.

Dianne Feinstein on Sotomayor: Sotomayor So Amazing!

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) were the guests on today's Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace. The Sotomayor confirmations were the topic of the day. What a complete joke these confirmation hearings are unless, you are a Democrat planning to dismember a nominee, as they did Clarence Thomas. If that's the plan, then the hearings are important.

Both Cornyn and Feinstein sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee. We can assume that both have had the same access to whatever material Sotomayor finally gave up to the Committee. So, why does one Senator feel that a hearing and some thoughtful examination is important and the other Senator already have her mind made up? Well, as you'll read below, it's because one Senator believes Sotomayor is "amazing." Wallace starts by asking Cornyn if Sotomayor's nomination will be blocked by a Republican filibuster.

CORNYN: Well, of course, it was unheard of to filibuster judges until our friends on the Democratic side filibustered a number of nominees. And unfortunately, a gentleman who might have been the first Hispanic nominee to the United States Supreme Court, Miguel Estrada, who filibustered seven times and denied an up or down vote -- I don't think that will happen to Judge Sotomayor, even though that precedent has now been established. I just don't see it happening in this case.

So knowing all that Cornyn already knows, he does not see a Republican stand against this racist judge.

WALLACE: And do you see any way, just on an up or down vote, to block her nomination?

CORNYN: I think she'll be given a fair hearing. I personally and all of my colleagues have made the commitment to give her a fair hearing, treat her with the dignity we would expect every nominee to be treated. But unfortunately, that seems to be more the exception than the rule. But yes, I think she'll have an up or down vote.

So now it is Feinstein's turn:

WALLACE: Senator Feinstein, is the judge's ascension to the Supreme Court a sure thing?

FEINSTEIN: I believe it is. She is an amazing, warm and intelligent woman, and she actually brings to the court more experience in courts -- trial courts, appellate courts -- than any sitting member of the Supreme Court. And what has been amazing to me is how she's overcome adversity and disadvantage and carried on and done it basically by herself.

She's an amazing story, and I think that's been written up now. I think people are beginning to understand her. And you know, she's entered into some 3,000 appeals. She's tried 400 cases. She's written opinions. Obviously, people will find this or that they don't like. But overall, the story is so encouraging -- it is so much a part of the American dream -- and she has done so well at what she's done, it's really -- I take enormous pride as a woman in voting for her. And I never say how I'm going to vote before a hearing, but in this case, I -- John, I find her amazing. I really do.

Senator Feinstein NEVER endorses a candidate before a vote...except this time, because after all, Sotomayor is just so amazing. No need for Feinstein to hear the questions from Republicans, or the answers. Her mind is made up. She's going to vote for her. Cornyn, however, wants to question her "judicial philosophy." I'm sure Cornyn already knows at least what I know, and if he does, he should be able to say "I won't be voting for her, because of her judicial philosophy," but no, he is a Republican and he will play the Democrats game. He obviously respects the confirmation process. Feinstein doesn't need it. When Wallace asks Feinstein what to expect when Sotomayor is asked is asked to explain this comment:

I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."

Feinstein said she is looking forward to hearing the "context" in which Sotomayor said the fateful words. Democrat lingo like "not the most artfully put together sentence," popped out along with the wise words of this California Senator who said:

I've been one, who often thinks a woman has to be twice as good to be thought of as equal.

Well, maybe so, but what justifies Sotomayor being twice as good. Sotomayor is a racist and Feinstein knows it. Nevermind.
