Why John McCain Should NOT be the Next President

My problem with John McCain is that he is a loose cannon and a hot-head, and the two together do not belong in the White House.

On June 2nd, after addressing a Town Hall event in Le Mars, Iowa, McCain decided to share a bit of attitude with his audience. As an audience member pounded on the fact that existing immigration laws are not being enforced, and then:

He asked McCain why the U.S. couldn't execute large-scale deportations, as he had heard they did in France and other countries.
McCain fired back:
"In case you hadn't noticed, the thousands of people who have been relegated to ghettos have risen up and burned cars in France," McCain said. "They've got huge problems in France. They have tremendous problems. The police can't even go into certain areas in the suburbs of Paris. I don't want that in the suburbs of America.''
It's untenable for a U.S. Presidential candidate to equate America's immigration problem with the Islamic debacle in France. And, how about the snit that French gendarmes can't even enter certain neighborhoods in France? Well...they're French - it's France! It's not America, and shame on McCain for holding-up France as an example of the havoc to be wreaked upon us, if we behave badly and deny the push for amnesty.

So McCain expects riots! Then start the deportations early and earnestly - like right now.

President Bush, this week, told us that tagging the current, hotly-protested legislation as amnesty, is simply
...empty political rhetoric, trying to frighten our fellow citizens.”
I cannot remember EVER feeling as furious at anything "political," as I was at Bush for his accusations against the majority of American citizens, and then here comes McCain.

As to how the majority of Americans feel: 53% of California voters favor a policy of rounding-up and deporting illegal aliens, 59% of Americans polled believe it more effective to crack down on illegals by toughening enforcement of existing laws, deporting illegals and prosecuting the employers who illegally employ workers, 71% of Americans polled believe illegals pose a threat to the U.S., 74% of likely American voters agree that "We have to stop the flow of illegals before we address what to do about those already here," 54% of Americans polled believe illegals harm the nation's economy, and 67% of Americans approve of the U.S. government deporting illegals, and 57% of registered voters "favor" trying to send as many illegals back to their home countries as possible. This is just a small sampling of an American negative view of our illegals. Among the pollsters above, are the LA Times/Bloomberg, Opinion Research Corp., Fox News Opinion Dynamics, The Polling Company, Field Poll, UPI/Zogby and others. View them and other pertinent information at NumbersUsa.com.

It's been my contention that had France and Germany not been embroiled in Oil-for-Food, these two countries would have stood behind our efforts in Iraq, and frankly, the War on Terror would have a different face today. Just as the War on Terror has changed lives forever in this country, the efforts of the President and John McCain to inflict this legislation on our lives, and the lives of our loved ones and their future families, will have far-reaching and ominous consequences.

Maggie's Notebook pinged It's time for a conservative revolution from Perri Nelson's Website. Excerpt: Do you recall how recently the spin machines of the Republican front-runners were twisting and warping the definition of "conservative" to fit the political ideologies of their candidates? Do you recall how this past winter, McCain was said to be rallying conservatives? For those of you that have followed it, do you recall when John McCain was leading in the GOP Bloggers straw polls and was many "conservative" respondents' "first choice"?

Maggie's Notebook pinged Accessory to the Crime from RightTruth. Excerpt:I going to say it. Anyone who hires an illegal alien is guilty of aiding and abetting criminals. These employers are accessories to the crime of illegal immigration. If we really started punishing these employers, the number of illegal aliens would greatly decrease. Why is this so difficult?
