Missing the Point of the Black Panther Story: Megyn Kelley and Eric Shawn

I love Megyn Kelly and I love Eric Shawn on FOX News, but this morning as they reported the Black Panther voter intimidation case, they missed the point. See update below. The fact that the case was dismissed, even after a default judgment, is one story and it is an outrageous story, but the real story is that the case was dismissed AFTER the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice got involved.

Front-line lawyers were in the final stages of completing that work when they were unexpectedly told by their superiors in late April to seek a delay after a meeting between political appointees and career supervisors, according to federal records and interviews. [A DOJ spokesman] said that after a "thorough review" of the complaint, top career attorneys in the Civil Rights Division determined the "facts and the law did not support pursuing the claims against three of the defendants.
