Hugh Wiggins is Pamela Long Wiggins Husband: Hugh Wiggins is Patrick Poff Gonzalez Friend?

Hugh Wiggins is Pamela Long Wiggin's husband, although she is in jail on charges of bigamy, among other things, so the marriage may not be legal. We've known that Patrick Poff Gonzalez is a close friend of Pamela, but didn't know about a hard connection or friendship between Patrick and Hugh. See updates 8-20-09 10-25-09 below.

Patrick Poff Gonzalez is considered the organizer of the murders of Byrd "Bud" Billings and Melanie Billings. It has also been reported that Gonzalez was the lone triggerman. Patrick Gonzalez, Jr. and his wife, Tabatha, attended the Wiggins' December 2008 wedding and signed the marriage certificate as witnesses. Now we know that the trio had a friendship going on two years prior to the murders of Byrd and Melanie Billings - while Pamela was still married to Jimmy Malden, Jr.

Lonnie Smith described himself as a "longtime friend of Gonzalez, Jr. Smith and Gonzalez both worked in the used-auto industry, as did Bud Billings. Smith says several weeks before the murders, Gonzalez, Jr. asked him work a security job, and them admitted it was actually a robbbery. Smith refused. Gonzalez telephoned him "13 times the day of the murders," and told him there were millions of dollars in the Billings' safe. Lonnie Smith said two years before the July 9th murders he was at meetings with Patrick Gonzalez and Hugh Wiggins.

A year later, Smith says he met the two men aboard the Wiggins' yacht, The Classy Lady, on Palafox Pier in Pensacola. Smith says Gonzalez claimed to be a gunrunner, and offered to get him guns. Lonnie says Gonzalez talks a lot, "comes up with crazy things, you have to read between the lines to figure out what's true and what's not true."

So now Hugh Wiggins enters the story. His wife is back in jail tonight as a flight risk with her bond raised from $10,000 to $50,00. I pictured him as this poor guy with a bigamist wife, a secret kept from him. A poor guy with this out-of-control, blonde realtor wife - the "yacht owner." Pamela Laverne Long Link Coco Malden Wiggins...who ran around with Patrick Gonzalez and did all manner of things. I think this profile of Mrs. Malden-Wiggins is true, but can't prove it, and where else Hugh Wiggins figures into this, I don't know yet, but seems he might be considered a Patrick Poff Gonzalez friend, associate....

The documents released Monday reveal:
--Byrd Billings struggled against the five intruders in his home, grabbing one of them by the neck. Two suspects remained outside.

--His body, found in the master bedroom, had six bullet wounds — one in the back of each leg, two in the face and two in the back of the head. A white zip tie was on his left arm.

--Melanie Billings was shot five times — twice in the chest and three times in the face and head. Her body was found in a hallway leading out of the master bedroom.

-- A child — one of the couple’s nine adopted children with special needs — said that “bad men” woke his father and told him “You’re gonna die.” He watched as his mother was “shot in her shirt.”

--While intruders drove away with a small portable safe containing only medicine and family jewelry and papers, a second green gun safe with $164,000 in $100 bills sat undisturbed in a second-floor room.

Update 8-18-09: From the Sheriff's Investigative report in an interview with Tabitha Gonzalez, dated July 20, 2009. Tabitha/Tabatha is the wife of Leonard Patrick Poff Gonzalez, Jr.: This portion concerns Tabitha's description of her and her husband's relationship with Hugh and Pamela Long Wiggins - she is talking to Investigator Robert Guy and tells him they have rented from Pamela Wiggins for about a year:

Guy: How did ya'll wind up meeting Pamela Long, tell how that relationship come about? TG: ...my husband is friends with Hugh Wiggins Guy: ...So, so Pat knew Hugh? TG: Uh, huh

She went on to say that they "knew each other from a long time ago. Guy asks how close the couple:

TG: Well, we were friends, I mean we went to barbeques and stuff like that to their house and she would go out of town with Hugh when he went to and came back to go his things for school and we would watch her daughter and would take her to karate and make sure she was okay."

Tabatha says Pamela's daughter is 13 years old. She also says she has helped Pamela rent out properties - "she has a place on the beach and the houses and I help clean them and rent them out...I've painted...." She talks about the self-defense business she and her husband had...said they no longer had a studio due to the economy...said they had to borrow some money to get into the building in the beginning. She mentions a name: Steve Manatat - a student of Patrick's. She said Cab Tice loaned them money (Tice is now under arrest - see links below). Guy asked: "did Pat ever talk about about Mr. Billings? She says that "Cab" introduced them, and said Billings donated $5,000 to the couple's Project Fight Back non-profit business. She said Billings wanted to help invest in the business. Tabitha says "Jerry Wood invested in the school." ...he was a friend...at one time a student but mainly a friend. She says she met Billing once, was never at his house. She indicated she and her husband are friends with the "Manatats."

She talks more about Hugh Wiggins: She says "a lot of times he was in school," but came home to work on a boat and was home for 2 weeks out of the month. She said her husband, Patrick hung out at Pam's house. Tabitha said Pam's boat was in Patrick's name because Pam was afraid it would be repossessed. She said Pam wanted Patrick to see to that her daughter was taken care of if anything happened to her. Tabitha said she did not want her name on the boat. Tabatha indicated that she has a lot of Pam's rental business records for the beach house on her own computer. On the day of the murders, Guy asks her to recount her day.

Patrick was known to be in a Wal-Mart with two black males that day and was seen on video with them. Tabatha said she met her husband inside the store but did not see the two black males. Investigator Guy says Patrick is even holding one of their children, in the company of the two black males at the check-out. She continues to deny that she knew her husband has these two men with him Wal-Mart. Guy asks her about Pamela's son Casey...says he is about 20 years old...has a "little baby," indicates her husband knew Casey well. They talk about Hugh Wiggins' cream or white van. She knew the white van. She said she has known Hugh for 1-1/2 years. Tabatha Gonzalez says she has a prior 10-year marriage to Brandon Fausti. More update from 8-18-09: As I read through the recently released investigative reports, more is beginning to come out about Hugh Wiggins. It appears that that he works "off-shore," "somewhere in New Orleans, "two weeks of each month and then attends some kind of school the other two weeks. A witness names Jean Duncan spoke to Investigators on July 15th. She is referred to as "Miss Duncan" in the report. Duncan said she has known Pamela Long for about 8 years...worked for her doing various work...primarily painting and she maintained the paint on some of Pamela's properties. Pamela and Hugh wanted an estimate to paint the house on Sound View Trail. Duncan called to make an appointment to stop by with the estimate. Duncan mentions someone named Glen and it appears they live together. Jean said she had not seen Hugh since Christmas.

Jean and Glen got to the house, Hugh opened the door and told them he was going to have a meeting and they needed to go upstairs. Only Hugh and Pam were there at the time. Pam's daughter Shelby was not at home. Jean Duncan said she immediately got an uncomfortable feeling, and she told them she did not have the estimate.

They were led upstairs anyway and again Hugh said he was expecting people. Pam went upstairs with them. Pam had just moved to this house, so Jean had not been there before. At the top of the stairs there were photographs of Jean and Pam together because they had been friends, but they did not hang out much, said Duncan. There were other photos. Jean was surprised (they were wedding photos of Pam and Hugh). Jean said, "you are married," but Pam didn't answer. Jean said it again and Pam still would not answer.

On the way upstairs, Hugh asked Glen if he "liked to make money?" Glen said yes, and Hugh asked if he had "any qualms about how you make it?" Duncan answered for him and said "hell yeah, he's go qualms abot how he makes it. Jean told Glen they had to "get the hell out here." She believed that Pam was high on something. Pam comes back to them with more photos of the wedding, including Patrick Poff (Gonzalez) and his wife Tabatha. Duncan, says "they were at your wedding?" Pam told them she and Hugh married on December 31st at Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Duncan told her she was "crazy," and told Pam she had to leave to pick up a ladder. They got back downstairs and Patrick Poff (Gonzalez) was there. Glen saw a black man in the back yard. Hugh was there with another white man. So there was Hugh, Patrick Poff Gonzalez, the white man and the black man that only Glen saw in the backyard.

Later in the interview, Duncan identifies the two white men as Gonzalez and Wayne Coldiron, who is also charged with murder. Jean Duncan and Glen left and Duncan said she would do no more work for Pamela. She thought Pam and Hugh might be selling drugs. They later did do another couple of jobs for Pam, but asked for payment upon the job being finished, which they received. Duncan says the next thing she knew, the Billings were dead. She saw Patrick Poff on television in connection to the murders. Duncan believed Hugh and Pam had something to do with the murders.

The "other" white man's picture was not seen on television in connection to the murders. Duncan said he was dressed "fancy," short light brown hair, not tall, but taller than Patrick, and she guessed him to 50-ish - maybe 55 years old. She said she thought she would recognize him again because of the way he dressed.

Duncan told Glen that she was "scared to death" of Hugh Wiggins. She said he was a dangerous man and Pam was doped up. Jean believed Wiggins was doping her up. After her last job for Pam, Pam showed up at Duncan's work to bring check. Duncan asked her "what the hell is going on in your life? I do not like that guy, why did you marry him?" There was no one else around but Pamela would not talk above a low whisper. She told Duncan that someone was "after" Hugh. She said Hugh was "very scared - someone had a hit out on him, and Hugh thinks it is his best friend that he's known since childhood."  

Update 8-20-09:
Pamela Long, the bigamist wife of Hugh Wiggins, has been sold out by his wife. Hugh has been granted limited immunity, although Sheriff David Morgan says that Hugh Wiggins is a person of interest in the murders.
