Ashley Markham and her husband, James "Blue" Markham, were taped this week on the Chicago Oprah show set. Escambia Country Sheriff David Morgan taped his interview via Skype. The air-date has not been announced but it is believed the show will air the week of October 5th.

Ashley Markham's parents, Byrd and Melanie Billings were murdered in their Beulah, Florida home outside Pensacola on July 9th, 2009. Seven suspects are behind bars and charged with first-degree murder, along with Pamela Wiggins, considered an "accessory after the fact" to the murders.

Leonard Patrick Gonzalez, Jr. is believed to have pulled the trigger that killed the couple. The Billings had adopted 13 children, 9 of whom were in the house at the time of the killings. One special needs child was sleeping in the bedroom with his parents when they were shot down.

Markham has reportedly turned down offers to be interviewed by Nancy Grace and Larry King, but she, her husband and their attorney Robert Beasley will appear with Oprah this week. The main focus of the show will be the Markham's new life with the adopted, special needs children and the Billings' legacy as adoptive parents. Oprah's film crew spent time in Pensacola and Beulah last week in preparation for the show.

The man accused of leading the robbery and murder of Byrd and Melanie Billings, Leonard Patrick Gonzalez, Jr. had a new charge filed against him last week. Read about it here. To read all the background about the murders, the family and the accused murders, click here.
