A former Deputy Defense Minister for Israel, Ephraim Sneh, did some straight talking in September, and Iran has issued its official complaint letter to the UN, via Iran's UN Ambassador, Mohammad Khazaee. The very body that allows Mahmoud Achmadinejad to stand on the world stage and blister Israel and deny the holocaust, is objecting to a comment by Sneh. Watch for the UN condemnation of Israel.
Mr. Sneh told London's Sunday Times that if effective sanctions were not leveled against Iran by the United Nations, Israel would attack Iran.

Mr. Sneh told London's Sunday Times that if effective sanctions were not leveled against Iran by the United Nations, Israel would attack Iran.
Getting right to the heart of the matter, Sneh said:
No Israeli government could put its faith in President Barack Obama's efforts to bring Tehran to the negotiating table over its nuclear programme, he said.
That statement is exactly the conversation we should be having. I want to point out that the quotation above indicates it is an exact quote, but the article did not use quotation marks. It was odd and must be an oversight.
Here's more:
The Israeli government is the only entity that is responsible for the existence of the Jewish people," he said. "Iran has been explicit in its hostility to Israel time and again. They would use these weapons.
We believe that Iran has the capacity and the delivery capability for nuclear weapons. They can proceed to production. We have got two months to act - before the end of 2009.
If Iran gained the bomb it would trigger a regional arms race with Saudi and Egypt quickly obtaining weapons," he said. "We would be living next to three Pakistans."
This report from PressTV quotes Sneh:
This is the very, very last resort. But ironically it is our best friends and allies who are pushing us into a corner where we would have no option but to do it," Sneh who is also a former member of parliament's defense and intelligence committees explained.
Mr. Sneh boldly said that the idea of Russia and China giving consent for new sanctions is "a myth," and then he makes this very telling statement:
Imposed by the West, such a strategy would be tough enough to work, said the retired Israeli brigadier general.
That's another conversation starter, that will never start. The UN doesn't even have a definition of "terrorism." If they did, it would mean they would have to upset the apple cart for the powerful UN OIC (Organization of the Islamic Conference), it would mean that non-democratic member states must be expelled from the UN Human Rights Committee. It would mean that terrorist states would not have membership in the UN.
Israel is the No. 1 human rights violator, according to the United Nations. The second is Sudan, the United States of America is 5th, following the Congo and Myanmar. This smarmy group has excluded Israel from full membership in the UN, which is a violation of the UN Charter. In fiscal year 2006, the US "contributed" $5.3 BILLION to the UN. This is the latest figure I can find, so there is no telling what we shoveled over to that viperous pit this year.
The good news is, the US MUST pay according to it's "capacity to pay," and there is a UN ceiling set at 22% of capacity for a member (and not everyone is bound to pay by "capacity"). The US always hits the ceiling. It will be interesting to see, if we can ever find the information, if paying at "capacity" declines along with our declining "Gross National Income," which is the figure our "capacity" is based on.
Forgive me for going off-topic, but the UN treatment of Israel should be abhorred by the entire world. To all Muslims around the world who say their religion of peace threatens no one, shame on you for never, never speaking out against the OIC within the UN.
Mohammad Khazaee's letter to the UN speaks in part about Israel's boldness in their threat. In May 2009, Iran announced the "destruction of Israel within 11 days." That's only one of the many threats from Iran against Irsrael over the years. Remember this: Iran Threatens Genocide, Obama Offers Hot Dogs?

What do you get for threatening to wipe an entire country off the face of the earth? Hot dogs from the Obama administration, according to The New York Times. The State Department has asked US embassies across the world to invite Iranian diplomats to 4th of July celebrations, for the first time in nearly 30 years.Back to Mr. Sneh, who said he believes the people of Iran are ready to further democratize their country after the last presidential election, and that crippling sanctions can bring the Iranian leadership to it's knees, giving the Iranian people the opening to gain some measure of control. Ephraim Sneh suggests "curtailing" incoming fuel, spare parts for energy production and freezing the country out of the world monetary system and cross-border investment.
As I've said more than a few times here, had we had a Naval blockade of everything going in and coming out of the country, Iran would have made an "adjustment" long ago.
Mohammad Khazaee's complaint will be discussed in both the UN Security Council and the UN Human Rights Council with great disgust and heated hate will once again result in the condemning of Israel and coddling of the Muslim world.
