Newark Liberty Airport Kiss Blamed for Shutdown

Video cameras in Terminal C at Newark Liberty Airport show a man and woman embracing just before they separate and the woman enters the secure area. The man, not a passenger, then walks down a secure passageway - the wrong way. The woman lifts a rope intended to keep those who have not gone through security out, and those who have, in. The man ducks under and the two walk toward the boarding area and out of camera-view, holding hands. The man is seen on another security tape exiting the building. He has not been identified. Update 1-10-10 - The passenger is identified as Haisong Jiang. See details below.

Obviously, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was not where they should have been, or if they were, they were asleep or unconcerned. The TSA says an officer was not where he/she should have been.

The Newark Liberty International Airport is one of the busiest international airports in the country, was the departure point of the September 11, 2001 Flight 93 that went down in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania - yet, apparently one absent TSA officer is all that stood between an unsecure person entering a secure area.

Update 1-10-10:
Haisong Jiang, 28, of Piscataway, New Jersey is identified as the passenger who shutdown the Newark Liberty airport to steal a kiss from his sweetie. Details here.
