John McCain's Lack of Conservatism: Shamnesty Shame

Trackback URL for this entry: http://haloscan.com/tb/maggiesnotebook/1568342918363980640 The Amboy Times has posted an email from an ex-McCain Press Secretary. IT'S A MUST READ! Let's just pile on. If you think John McCain's strength is his strong stance against terrorism, read this, in McCain's own words...he compares America's illegal immigration to the Muslim riots in France. "In case you hadn't noticed," McCain says, the Muslims in France have "risen up." "I don't want that in the suburbs of America." So what is he saying here? I believe he's saying "let the Hispanics in, make them legal so that they will not "rise up" in our neighborhoods and burn our cars. Self-proclaimed Liberal columnist, Jonathan Chait, a senior editor at The New Republic and writing for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review lays out McCain's flips that eventually flop to the liberal side:

...McCain voted against both of Bush's major tax cuts...he co-sponsored a patients' bill of rights with John Edwards, D-N.C., and Ted Kennedy, D-Mass...co-sponsored with John Kerry, D-Mass., legislation to raise auto emissions standards; co-sponsored legislation with Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., to close the "gun-show loophole" and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in compliance with the Kyoto accords...came out in favor of government-financed stem cell research...defends his visit to Jerry Falwell's Liberty University on the grounds that New York's New School -- where he also spoke -- "is a liberal institution."...insists he hasn't flip-flopped by voting to extend the 2003 tax cut, which he originally voted against. ..
I thank him for his service, admire him for his fortitude in enemy hands, and am grateful for his sacrifices. A plan for his future: retirement from Government service and a grateful nation making deposits to his retirement fund. Don't forget to read the email at The Amboy Times. Article end.
