Definition of a Bad Day: The Million Dollar Mattress

And you thought you were having a bad day? An Israeli woman living in Tel Aviv, tried to do a good deed for her elderly mother by purchasing a nice, new mattress as a surprise for her. The daughter put the old mattress out for trash pick-up. The "garbage men" did their job and trashed the mattress. Then the daughter, identified only as "Anat" learned that her mother had hidden her entire life savings inside the trashed mattress - $1 million. The dump manager is helping the woman in her search through 2,500 tons of new garbage arriving every day. He increased security and is keeping "treasure hunters" out. Anat put it all in perspective, even as she "frantically searched" through the dump:

...it could be worse. "People have to take everything in proportion and thank God for the good and the bad," she said.
I'll be praying for Anat and her family that they are able to recover her mother's life saving. Personally, I don't blame her mother. A mattress is safer these days than a bank, unless...
