A major online source reported Tea Partiers verbally assaulted the Congressional Black Caucus, in front of the Capitol, yelling ni**er, , and one Tea Partier is accused of spitting on Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO). Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) said he heard the "n" word 15 times. But a video seems to show just the opposite. If the "n" was used over and over on the Caucus-walk, you would surely see it in one of the videos below - one courtesy of Daily Kos, accusing "the man in the straw hat." - but it just isn't there. Will the Caucus claim both videos have been tampered with? CBC, CNN, NBC, MSNBC CBS all reported the assault, without video. This morning, still no retractions, still no claims of tampering. HuffPo, will you look into Black Caucus lies?
The Hill reported that the 'spitter' was arrested, but MSNBC, which does not mention the arrest, has an email from Capitol Police Sgt. Kimberly Schneider saying "We did not make any arrests today." Nevertheless, Democrats took to the House floor and "decried" the protesters. Similar delusion in the second video below where a Kos poster thinks a man in a straw hat is yelling "ni**er."
The Daily Kos is showing a similar video describing it as "Teabaggers attacking...." LaurenMonica at DailyKos linked to TPM's report and said she could not finish watching the clip because it makes her "sick and angry at the same time. Strange. TPM doesn't have a video in this post. So, assuming she is talking about the video below, which shows nothing significant, it doesn't take much to push her over the edge.
The same Kos article has an explanation of the yells of "ni**er:"
Listen closely. It's not the whole crowd but it is the guy in the straw hat. Notice how he cups his hands turns to shout directly at the black man walking in front of him.
After crowd shots "kill the bill" he adds "then the n***er." He does it twice, once at 12 seconds, again at 14 seconds. Then he stops because the man he's shouting at is out of earshot. Not that I think he heard himm in the first place.
But anyway, here we have video evidence of at least one teabagger shouting racial slurs. What??? Friends, there nothing there that can be heard or seen for this poster to make that claim. Nevertheless, Michael Steele, chairman of the Republican National Committee, and an official of Tea Party Express condemned the "racial slurs."
