Valerie Jarretts Olympic Village Debacle: Valerie Jarrett Olympic Connection

How do you take a housing facility, known as a "preservation for affordable housing," bearing a $12 million mortgage, designate it for demolition, sell it to the city of Chicago for $1,000.00 and then receive $1 million from a leftist foundation in preparation for the - coming Olympics - which are not coming! Only the "other side of Barack Obama's brain," Valerie Jarrett could bring about these miraculous events.

Tony Rezko, the important Obama fundraiser and home financier currently in prison for fraud and bribery:

...used subsidies to rehabilitate more than 1,000 apartments, mostly in and around Obama's district, then refused to manage the units, leaving the buildings to decay to the point where many no longer were habitable. Campaign finance records show that six prominent developers - including Jarrett, Davis, and Rezko - collectively contributed more than $175,000 to Obama's campaigns over the last decade and raised hundreds of thousands more from other donors. Rezko alone raised at least $200,000, by Obama's own accounting.

Poor Valerie Jarrett. She can't catch a break. Puma Eyes reports that Grove Parc Apartment project, managed by Jarrett's Habitat Company, received a grade of 11 out of 100 from federal inspectors. By the way, Valerie Jarrett sits on the Board of that leftist foundation mentioned above.

Mice scamper through the halls. Battered mailboxes hang open. Sewage backs up into kitchen sinks. In 2006, federal inspectors graded the condition of the complex an 11 on a 100-point scale - a score so bad the buildings now face demolition. Grove Parc has become a symbol for some in Chicago of the broader failures of giving public subsidies to private companies to build and manage affordable housing - an approach strongly backed by Obama as the best replacement for public housing. But a Globe review found that thousands of apartments across Chicago that had been built with local, state, and federal subsidies - including several hundred in Obama's former district - deteriorated so completely that they were no longer habitable. Grove Parc and several other prominent failures were developed and managed by Obama's close friends and political supporters. Those people profited from the subsidies even as many of Obama's constituents suffered. Tenants lost their homes; surrounding neighborhoods were blighted.

Community organizing gone bad. Grove Parc is said to be located "in the shadows" of the proposed Olympic Village, had the Olympics come to Chicago. I don't know what "in the shadows" means, but it probably means that the Olympics Village would have been at least close enough to Grove Parc to help the area - because Valerie Jarret's management skills could not. Did I mention that the Olympics are not coming to Chicago?

As a state senator, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee coauthored an Illinois law creating a new pool of tax credits for developers. As a US senator, he pressed for increased federal subsidies. And as a presidential candidate, he has campaigned on a promise to create an Affordable Housing Trust Fund that could give developers an estimated $500 million a year.

Valerie Jarrett BFF with Michelle and Barack took over management of Grove Parc in 2001 until sometime in 2008. The facility is located in the district that Barack Obama represented as an Illinois State Senator. The Boston Globe says the apartments are "for people who can't afford to live anywhere else." Good grief!

I'd love to hear from Jarrett and Obama how such extreme devastation in a neighborhood can happen. Were the people living in Grove Parc just destructive and dirty? Did they devastate their own homes? Hmmmmm? Or did Jarrett and friends neglect the properties? Hmmmmm? What's the story? I know we don't like to blame people these days, but...I'm just saying... Boston.com has a nine-page stranger-than-fiction accounting of Valerie Jarrett and Barack Obama's roles in Chicago's failed government subsidized housing. Hundreds of apartments built...hundreds of apartments fallen into disrepair...some rendered unlivable by the Government - some seized by the Government.
