A Nebraskan's View of Oklahoma Politics

As I was doing research for Oklahoma's July 27th primary, I found a very interesting article. I am a native Oklahoman although I have lived numerous other places. My state is one Liberals like to have a lot of fun with. I figure they are jealous of our football, our fabulous young golfers and our amazing standard of living.

So today I found a piece at OK Grassroots written by a Nebraskan, Shelli Dawdy. She is talking about Oklahoma politics, a subject near and dear to my heart. We are an extremely conservative state, the reddest state, and quite frankly, Oklahomans cannot be blamed for any of the problems happening in Washington, D.C. today.

Here is a portion of Ms. Dawdy's article, and while she speaks about a few of our primary candidates, I wanted you to hear what she has to say about the voters in the Great State of Oklahoma.

While I do have a number of friends and contacts there, that is not what drives my concern. I have come to believe that Oklahoma is at the tip of a spear that for so many reasons, is pointing in the right direction. Oklahoma has a very strong, organic movement comprised of resolute people committed to the Constitution. It is considered by many the home of State Sovereignty and it requires less digging to find some strong legislators at their Capitol than in my own and other states.

State Representative Charles Key and State Senator Randy Brogdon, are at the top of that list; they have taken on issues like State Sovereignty and REAL ID, just to name two.

Oklahoma has a number of excellent Constitutional, liberty-minded candidates challenging incumbents. More, it seems than in many other states, and more that are rock-solid on core principles.

Further, as noted in a piece I wrote at the end of May, the mindset of registered Republican voters in Oklahoma, at least in the one place where I walked blocks, was palpably different from what I’d experienced in Nebraska. Few NE voters asked questions when presented with literature, and then only about party affiliation. If the candidate was Republican, with few exceptions, that was good enough for them. Oklahomans consistently asked questions, voiced dissatisfaction with the GOP, and were clearly intending upon investigating challengers in a race.

Having said all that, life at the tip of the spear is a tenuous business. My understanding of infantry is they take the brunt of the battle. Rep. Key and Sen. Brogdon have had successes, but they’ve also had disappointments. Challenging candidates and their supporters have been shut out from equal access by the GOP establishment. Supporters of State Sovereignty, individual liberty, and limited government have been called radicals, liars, and even insane. Entrenched power doesn’t go down easily. It gets really ugly, as a matter of fact, the more threatened it feels.

The people at the tip of the spear can’t hold their ground forever. Others need to join them. Infantry troops need backup. I’m in a state where the incumbents were re-elected across the board, with the most successful challenger garnering 37% of the vote. I want to see the movement back to core Constitutional principles, toward limited government, and a restoration of our Republic continue. Oklahoma is key in that fight. And when you see a success in the legislature or a candidate, it’s not really the one man you see leading the charge; he has a battalion of supporters working hard behind the scenes. They deserve and need reinforcement and support.

What will happen in Oklahoma next Tuesday? Will the discontent with entrenched power translate into the ousting of some incumbents? Perhaps. If some of the challengers had just a fraction of the support thrown at Scott Brown in Massachusetts, sending establishment, bail-out voting, Progressive Republicans packing would be much more certain. Marco Rubio Gets Rudy Giuliani Endorsement - Disses Crist?

Former New York mayor, Rudy Giuliani is endorsing Marco Rubio's candidacy for the U.S. Senate from Florida. Hot Air is speculating about Giuliani - considered a social Liberal and fiscal Conservative, and why he is not endorsing sitting Florida governor, Charlie Crist.

The most obvious answer is it's payback time. Crist endorsed Senator John McCain in the 2008 presidential election, even though Giuliani asked the Governor for his support.

I think there is more to it than that, and my theory goes to Republican endorsements across the map. For example, we hear that Marco Rubio, now considered a true Conservative, has been not so Conservative at times when he served in the Florida State House of Representatives, including his time as Speaker of the House.

We are in a new day, and some Moderates are not averse to recognizing that straddling the line helps drive up the debt.  Conservatives like Rubio are 'getting the Constitution.' Fiscal Conservatism and Traditional Values are the yardstick by which all will be measured. In fact, I think some Moderates are now 'true believers' and I think Rubio is one of those. Rudy could come close, even though revenge is sweet today for him as he refuses to endorse Charlie Crist, who everyone thought was shoo-in for the Senate.

When in our history, since Reagan, have we talked about Fiscal Conservatism? We haven't. Now it is the talk of the day - and We the People are fueling the talk. Conservatives no longer believe they have to give away the farm for a vote.

Public awareness and the Tea Party movement is giving backbone to our politicians, and most importantly, we are  shining a bright light on our forgotten U.S. Constitution. Republicans and former Moderates are doing it, while Democrats continue to hold the Constitution in disdain. 'We the People' 'get it.' The most important factor in Conservatism is the Constitution, which if adhered to, will create Fiscal Conservatism.

We now have the proper awareness that our Founding documents are the spine and backbone of this country. And Moderates are finding that they like it as much as we do. So, when a former RINO begins to 'get it,' let's welcome them to the club. We will not move Rudy off of some of his social issues, but through his endorsement of Marco Rubio, he has somewhat shed his RINO skin.  It is a new day. People change. People become believers. If Conservatism reigns, freedom rings!

Musing About Tea Parties and Party Affiliation

Michael Barone tries to figure out Tea Party affiliations and link them to some other movement in our past. This makes no sense to me. Tea Partiers want smaller government, lower taxes and the founding father's principles adhered to. Since Democrats want none of the above, why is there a question about how Tea Partiers will vote. Could they vote Democrat? Not in this current day. Would they vote Libertarian or Independent. Quite possibly.

But if they stay involved, the tea partiers are likely to gravitate to the Republican Party, just as the antiwar fold gravitated to the Democratic Party, on which they had a long-lasting and pervasive effect...

Tea partiers have caused some internal party splits (see the New York District 23 special election) and some may launch primary challenges or theird-party efforts that will elect Democrats. Any time a large number of motivated people inject themselves into electoral politics, they cause a certain amount of chaos.

Exactly. By not injecting ourselves into electoral politics, we have insane Democrats running the country. New York 23 is a good example of what really got the ball rolling for conservative activists. The GOP did what they too often have done...picked a RINO as a candidate, gave her money...lots of money. Tea Party watchdogs picked up on it when a conservative candidate challenged the RINO. The conservative didn't win, but then he had zero support from the Grand Old Party. Still yet, it was a victory for conservatives. We expect the GOP to be more discerning and actually do some research before future endorsements. It's laughable to think we would expect the same from the DNC.

Barone believes the lash back from conservatives is mainly about spending, but I maintain that it is equally, if not more, about freedom and liberty:

It's not clear whether the tea partiers' influence on Republicans will last as long as the antiwar cohort's imprint on Democrats. But their concern -- the fact that government spending is on a trajectory to increase far beyond revenues -- seems likely to persist. In which case a spontaneous movement that no one predicted and that no one person led could end up again, reshaping one of our great political parties.

I believe if the vigor for smaller government, lower taxes and adherence to the vision of the founding fathers ever diminishes, now that it has been re-founded, it will be a very, very long time. That's the gift Barack Obama's election gave us - the knowledge, insight  and vision to understand what the wrong choice for leadership, by an uninformed citizenry and criminally-complicit press, can do to a freedom-loving people, their children and generations beyond.

I don't see the fascination with decrying a Tea Party connection to Republicans, as long as the Tea Party quest is to advocate for smaller government, lower taxes and adhering to our founding documents. How out-of-character it would be for a Tea Partier to vote Democrat?

Jim Inhofe No. 1 Conservative in Senate: Inhofe on Earmarks and National Defense

Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit spoke by phone with Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) this week. Inhofe was named National Journal Magazine's No. 1 Conservative in the Senate, and the only Senator receiving a perfect score for conservatism. As I often say, Senator Inhofe is MY senator. I am proud that the state of Oklahoma is the reddest state in the union, and with Inhofe's long record, there has never been any doubt that he is the "reddest" senator. In the interview with Hoft, we also see that earmarks can affect national defense...are not a simple subject, and are not something to be easily dismissed.

One more thing about my state of Oklahoma. In the 2008 election, McCain received the largest margin of the vote of any state. While almost all of us wished we had a candidate other than McCain, at least we didn't help Barack Obama mount the Oval Office.

Having said that, the interview is about bigger things than being the No. 1 Conservative in the U.S. Senate. Inhofe has some advice on earmarks...what's important and what is not, and it's something we need to be thinking about. Do we really know the bottom line of earmarking? Apparently we do not, and neither does the Republican leadership.

Inhofe sees the Republican leadership's move to ban all earmarks as not very smart (he might have said "dumb"). Earmarks make-up 1-1/2% of spending, and according to the Senator, if the money is not spent in earmarking, it will go to Obama to spend. This puts some defense money in the hands of the President and Democrats:

If you stop an earmark it doesn't save one penney. All it does is take that money and gives it to the President of the United States. That's the way the system works. It goes to the executive branch.

Assuming this is correct, we need to change the way the system works. If money for earmarks - not allocated and spent, goes back into the Executive hopper for distribution...that's nothing short of wrong.  If the money is not spent, it should not be spent.

Update 3-13-10 6:28 EST:
Senator Inhofe was just on FOXNews live with Rick Fulbaum. Inhofe said where the system is going awry is in the authorization and appropriating procesess. Everything spent should be first authorized, and then appropriated. That's not happening. I understood him to say that legislators take to the floor to appropriate an expense without authorizing it first.

He has also introduced legislation to replace President Obama's 20% ban on discretionary spending in the 2011 budget, and replace it with discretionary spending capped at 2008 levels. According to Inhofe, Obama's 20% ban means nothing because the 2010 budget was bloated by 20%. His legislation actually saves 20% by going back to 2008 discretionary spending levels.

On national defense and earmarks:

I'm not about to allow these people with this earmark program to put everything in the hands of Obama and that's what we'd be doing."

Hoft asked about Inhofe's contentious relationship with Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and the senate race heating up in her district with three Republicans challenging her seat. This was Inhofe's comment (an apparently one he has made often):

Defeating Barbara Boxer is not a victory, it's a contribution to mankind.

George W. Bush Ideas in Action: PBS GWB February Premiere

The George W. Bush Institute's "action oriented think tank" is co-producing a live audience, panel-format discussion, titled "Ideas in Action," and is planned to air on PBS in February 2010. Source: The HuffingtonPost. See a video below.

[James[ Glassman, the former Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy under President Bush and one-time moderator of CNN's "Capital Gang Sunday," will lead a discussion on public policy issues in front of a live audience at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He will remain executive director of the Institute.

The first episode, a discussion on pay for performance in education, includes one panelist from the George W. Bush Institute and panelists from the Economic Policy Institute and the Progressive Policy Institute.

"The idea is to discuss a difficult issue with a balanced panel," Glassman said.

The Bush Institute has a special focus on education policy -- along with economic growth, global health, human freedom and a women's initative -- but Glassman said the shows will tackle other topics as well. The second episode, for instance, highlights the use of online tools by dissident groups, such as those active in Iran. 

In November 2009, President Bush announced the groundbreaking for his Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University, scheduled for late 2010. Here are a few of his comments:

As I tell Laura, we may be retired, but I'm not tired. I've given speeches in eight states, six countries, and five Canadian provinces. I'm writing a book that gives readers my perspective on my toughest decisions, which will hit the shelves next fall. Most importantly, Laura and I are working to build the Presidential Center here at SMU. The Center will provide a platform for us to continue our public service for the rest of our lives. Which I hope is a long time. The Center will be housed in an elegant building designed by a first class architect, Robert Stern. It will be landscaped by an innovative genius, Michael Van Valkenburgh. Inside, visitors will find three components: an archive, a museum, and a policy institute....

First, the Archive will preserve the documents and records of my Presidency. There will be about four million photos, thousands of boxes of documents, and hundreds of millions of e-mails – not one of them mine. (Laughter.)...

Second, the museum will tell the story of my Presidency through the most consequential decisions. We'll use technology and innovative design to make the exhibits interactive, educational, and relevant to the future. Visitors will see the bullhorn I used on my first visit to Ground Zero … the Oval Office … they will be able to romp in a Texas rose garden.

We have selected four initial areas of focus: education, global health, human freedom, and economic growth. Programming will start this spring under the leadership of the Institute's first Executive Director, an innovative journalist, scholar, and ambassador, Jim Glassman...

Throughout my Presidency, Laura and I met with democratic activists, defenders of religious freedom, and families of political prisoners. The Bush Institute will continue this cause by supporting advocates of freedom around the globe. As a first step we will assemble a Freedom Collection, a repository of video histories and memoirs and documents from democratic activists. The Freedom Collection will be online for the world to see. Among the leaders who have agreed to participate are former President Vaclav Havel of the Czech Republic; President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia; Mohsen Sazegara, the founder of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, who became an advocate for democratic change; Kang Chol Wan, who spent ten years in a North Korean gulag and authored the book, Aquariums of Pyongyang....

I have a good idea of what President Obama's "Presidential Center" might feature: A collection of Chairman Mao's most probative thinking; a compendium of GLSEN's roadmap to keep American students safe; the memoirs of Barak Hussein Obama, the father of the current President, and his advocacy for communal land ownership, and government-forced confiscation of privately controlled land, and Obamas plans to make Valerie Jarrett the Dutchess of Chicago after he is officially crowned King of the U.S., rather than only thinking himself so. The focus will be the greening of agriculture and the growing of ACORNS. I can hardly wait to travel to Hawaii to visit this Presidential Center, and view the fake birth certificate, prominently displayed behind impentratable glass in the vast lobby with a video of Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. discretely flipping us the bird.

This photo of a billboard, supposedly somewhere in Missouri, is making it's way around the Internet. See video below?

More interesting than the billboard are comments on Leftist sites. One mentions our "phony bible," and a statement about the Weather Underground actually having values. One commenter asked if "threatening" the US Government is actually "acceptable" in advertising. Another says it is "conservative economic philosophy" that "deliberately" causes huge deficits to force a cut in social programs. Yet another completely delusional commenter cautions "morons and rednecks" that our Military is sworn to protect the Constitution from all enemies, even domestic enemies, and "hint...hint" the Military will not side with the "morons and rednecks."

Maine Voters Repeal Same Sex Marriage Law: Maine Voters vs Maine Legislators Rejects Gay Marriage

The state of Maine has repealed their law allowing same-sex marriage. The lesson: when "the people" are allowed to vote, the outcome is often very different from what was legislated.

A law was passed by the Maine legislature last Spring, but "put on hold," after a petition drive was launched for a repeal referendum by Stand for Marriage Maine.

The outcome Tuesday marked the first time voters had rejected a gay-marriage law enacted by a legislature. When Californians put a stop to same-sex marriage a year ago, it was in response to a court ruling, not legislation.

Five other states have legalized gay marriage - starting with Massachusetts in 2004, and followed by Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Iowa - but all did so through legislation or court rulings, not by popular vote. In contrast, constitutional amendments banning gay marriage have been approved in all 30 states where they have been on the ballot.

With the repeal of the state of Maine's law allowing same-sex marriage last night, gay rights activists have now lost in every state that has offered the question to the voter.

The institution of marriage has been preserved in Maine and across the nation," declared Frank Schubert, chief organizer [Stand for Marriage Maine] for the winning side.

Lindsay Graham Glenn Beck Rush: Angry White Guys Obama Lite: Lindsay Graham Center-Lite

Lindsay Graham must drive the good conservative people of South Carolina crazy. What do conservatives do about Lindsay Graham? He is a loose cannon bouncing around the halls of Congress, leaving the evidence of "good-ole-boys networking" on the pristine walls of conservatism. See videos below.

How do South Carolinians get him out of the Senate with the GOP funding him? I do not vote in South Carolina, but we assume, just for a minute, that conservatives there would like to replace Lindsay Graham, how does a new voice get heard? I wish I knew the answer.

I give Lindsay Graham credit in many areas. He is strong on the defense of the country and the military, he protects the rights of the unborn, he is mixed on energy, he supported Rep. Joe Wilson in a magnificent way, but he wrong on growing the Republican party. He doesn't have a clue how most conservatives think about the core of the party.

The video is Glenn Beck's latest clip and commentary of Senator Grahamnesty. Keep in mind that Graham has bashed Beck and Limbaugh on Keith Olberman. Graham just doesn't understand how a man (Beck) can make so much money for simply "crying."

David Mamet Conservative Thought

David Mamet is a lauded film director, screenwriter, playwright and author. In March 2008 - before the presidential election, he wrote an essay for the Village Voice titled Why I Am No longer a 'Brain-Dead Liberal' and in doing so, he gave an incredible expression of conservative thought. While this is not a new story, it is a great story.

I know little about David Mamet or his personal life, when he was a brain dead liberal, or now that he is more conservative, if he is. I know something about his literary and film endeavors. Tonight, his play Oleanna, first appearing in Chicago in 1992, debuts on Broadway. New York is atwitter - literally, not necessarily electronically. More about Oleanna to come.

 Mamet is Jewish and he participates in his local synagogue. He received the Pulitzer Prize (*spit*) in 1984 for Glengarry Glen Ross. He wrote the screenplay for The Untouchables. He produced The Postman Always Rings Twice and was nominated for an Academy Award for the script of The Verdict. He is the author of The Wicked Son: Anti-Semitism, Self-Hatred and the Jews. There's more I'm sure, but that should give you a good idea that he was, indeed, a brain dead liberal for most of his life.

Mamet says at the time he began thinking about conservatism, he was writing a play about politics. Here are portions from his Village Voice article:

We were riding along and listening to NPR. I felt my facial muscles tightening, and the words beginning to form in my mind: Shut the f**k up. "?" she [his wife] prompted. And her terse, elegant summation, as always, awakened me to a deeper truth: I had been listening to NPR and reading various organs of national opinion for years, wonder and rage contending for pride of place. Further: I found I had been—rather charmingly, I thought—referring to myself for years as "a brain-dead liberal," and to NPR as "National Palestinian Radio."

This is, to me, the synthesis of this worldview with which I now found myself disenchanted: that everything is always wrong.

But in my life, a brief review revealed, everything was not always wrong, and neither was nor is always wrong in the community in which I live, or in my country....

...and that we in the United States get from day to day under rather wonderful and privileged circumstances—that we are not and never have been the villains that some of the world and some of our citizens make us out to be, but that we are a confection of normal (greedy, lustful, duplicitous, corrupt, inspired—in short, human) individuals living under a spectacularly effective compact called the Constitution, and lucky to get it.

...and that we in the United States get from day to day under rather wonderful and privileged circumstances—that we are not and never have been the villains that some of the world and some of our citizens make us out to be, but that we are a confection of normal (greedy, lustful, duplicitous, corrupt, inspired—in short, human) individuals living under a spectacularly effective compact called the Constitution, and lucky to get it....

I found not only that I didn't trust the current government (that, to me, was no surprise), but that an impartial review revealed that the faults of this president [GW Bush]—whom I, a good liberal, considered a monster—were little different from those of a president whom I revered.
Bush got us into Iraq, JFK into Vietnam. Bush stole the election in Florida; Kennedy stole his in Chicago. Bush outed a CIA agent; Kennedy left hundreds of them to die in the surf at the Bay of Pigs. Bush lied about his military service; Kennedy accepted a Pulitzer Prize for a book written by Ted Sorenson. Bush was in bed with the Saudis, Kennedy with the Mafia. Oh.

And I began to question my hatred for "the Corporations"—the hatred of which, I found, was but the flip side of my hunger for those goods and services they provide and without which we could not live.

And I began to question my distrust of the "Bad, Bad Military" of my youth, which, I saw, was then and is now made up of those men and women who actually risk their lives to protect the rest of us from a very hostile world....

What about the role of government? Well, in the abstract, coming from my time and background, I thought it was a rather good thing, but tallying up the ledger in those things which affect me and in those things I observe, I am hard-pressed to see an instance where the intervention of the government led to much beyond sorrow.

Prior to the midterm elections, my rabbi was taking a lot of flack. The congregation is exclusively liberal, he is a self-described independent (read "conservative"), and he was driving the flock wild. Why? Because a) he never discussed politics; and b) he taught that the quality of political discourse must be addressed first—that Jewish law teaches that it is incumbent upon each person to hear the other fellow out.

I began reading not only the economics of Thomas Sowell (our greatest contemporary philosopher) but Milton Friedman, Paul Johnson, and Shelby Steele, and a host of conservative writers, and found that I agreed with them: a free-market understanding of the world meshes more perfectly with my experience than that idealistic vision I called liberalism.

Toward the end of the essay, Mamet talks about author William Allen White and the book he wrote, Masks in a Pageant, which Mamet recommends and says it "profiles presidents from McKinley to Wilson." He says this about White:

White knew that people need both to get ahead and to get along, and that they're always working at one or the other, and that government should most probably stay out of the way and let them get on with it. But, he added, there is such a thing as liberalism, and it may be reduced to these saddest of words: " . . . and yet . . . "

He ends the essay, with "Happy election season."

One of Mamet's most controversial works is Oleanna. It debuted in 1992 and is believed to be a veiled statement about Clarence Thomas (now a U.S. Supreme Court Justice) and his real life accuser, Anita Hill [an employee of Thomas at the time] - and centers around sexual harrassment. Mamet's Oleanna is portrayed as showing both sides of the issue.

Oleanna premiers tonight on Broadway with Julia Stiles and Bill Pullman starring. The buzz is heating up and New York can't wait to see how sexual harrassment is presented now that Mamet is no longer a brain dead liberal. The conundrum? take a side...if you can.

I'm hoping the Village Voice and Mr. Mamet will not be displeased that I "borrowed" - really, only a small portion of an essay that I hope you will read in its entirety. By the way, one of my sources for this story came from Big Hollywood, and that page is now loading with a 404 Error, but is till listed in a google search dated "October 9, 2009" - "1 hour ago"

I've searched for searing commentary against David Mamet. Can't find much, at least not much by any name you recognize. In fact, when you read "about" David Mamet, his essay is seldom mentioned. I have wonder, if he still has friends in Hollywood and New York, and either way, is he seen as a "conservative" or a "neocon."

I have a beloved connection to Hollywood. David Mamet's conservative thought is encouraging.

Rejecting the GOP: Sharing the Disgust - No. 1

Number 1, of who knows how many: As a conservative, my husband and I feel we're marinating in disgust at the GOP. I find my friends feel the same. I think sharing our disgust and our rejection of the GOP is a good idea. Maybe it will inspire you and maybe you will realize you are not alone. Please stop sending me letters begging me for money. I am no longer a member of the Republican Party.

For years I was a member of the GOP because it was the closest political machine that represented my views as a Conservative Libertarian but that was too hard to explain to the idiots the federally run public indoctrination camps spits out these days, aka the Public School System. By the way, the American Public School System is unconstitutional. Try to locate the constitutionality of the Department of Education and what they are doing within the Constitution and I'll go along with it. I won't hold my breathe.

I grow weary, no, I am passed that stage. I am ultimately sick and tired of getting letters with the opening lines asking me if I have given up on the GOP. That's a dumb question and tugging on my heart strings doesn't work. I have more integrity that that and I do not live by emotion - emotion does not drive me, my intellect does and these kinds of form letters insult me. I am not an emotionally driven Democrat. So, please stop. However, I do have emotions and it breaks my heart when I see this Nation slip into that abyss of obscurity because cowards will not stand for what they believe in and go along to get along.

I came home from a war and for the first time I realized what the Vietnam Veterans experienced - a country lost and wallowing in the primordial ooze of a lost identity and a lost mission. The United States Constitution that I fought and bled for means nothing to you, apparently. If it did mean something to you, and it should because all of you swore the same Oath I did, you would be addressing each and every Bill in the confines, edicts and restrictions set forth in our Founding Document. Yet and alas, you do not. Why is that?

I hear all of you debate and argue and not one of you - NOT ONE - even dare to mention the United States Constitution. Well, perhaps one of you does and, oddly enough, that is Senator Byrd that mentions it and waves it around before the CSPAN cameras and then promptly votes against it. Lip service disgusts me. Well, perhaps Ron Paul does also but he is the wrong guy for the right message. He just so happens to be wrong about some key Constitutional issues but that's for another day. And, you don't care anyway.

And about that ill-founded statement about me abandoning the Republican Party. What Republican Party? The one going by the wayside of the Whigg Party, the Know Nothing Party? When I hear alleged Republicans say we have to move into the bigger tent and move further to the left, I have to ask myself, who is the idiot that is saying all of this? Move further to the left when others are saying that the GOP has moved to the far right? When did the GOP move into the Anarchist's Camp? Did you do that while we were fighting the Jihadi? Is that why I hear we have to move left because we are all Anarchists now? What did I miss while I was fighting to keep you all warm and fuzzy at night?

Perhaps you are all referring to those neocons. You know, those Democrats that moved into the GOP because they knew that running as a Conservative would guarantee a win and the Democrats, to this day, run "conservatives" against the "liberal" Republicans...and WIN. And you guys put a liberal Republican, ie John McCain up against another seasoned liberal? To what end? How did that work out for you, and the Nation? Does it make you proud that now, at this moment, a known Jihadi sympathizer, a known Communist is now in the position of acting President of the United States? An unknown? A nobody? A liberal so far to the left that Stalin would be proud? And you want to move FURTHER to the left? Have you lost your minds? And you ask me if I have abandoned you? You ask me if I have given up? You ask me for donations so that you can win elections by moving further to the left? I was, in fact, born in the early morning hours but, it wasn't yesterday morning.

I have watched time and time again as the RNC/GOP machine embrace, coddle, promote and support known liberal Republicans and have watched each one fail and lose elections or re-elections. I witnessed my Senator, John Cornyn, throw all of his weight behind that democrat in drag Arlen Specter. When I heard that, I fired off a letter telling Senator Cornyn that the last election was my last vote for him and now he is doing the same with yet another democrat in drag that is all of a sudden, like McCain, Graham and Cantor, talking about "conservatism" like they believe in it and live it. Please. I can spot a liar from 10 clicks. Cornyn is now supporting and throwing his weight behind Crist. Who has abandoned whom? You have got to kidding me. Is Crist now going to defect to the Democrat Party like Arlen Specter did? He should.

What the RNC/GOP leadership ought to do but doesn't have the moral fortitude to do, is purge the GOP of the democrats in drag and have their Party membership revoked, their membership cards sent through the shredder and have them take their neocon (old democrat) selves back to their first love, the Democrat Party. At least the enemy can be identified once more. It is nearly impossible to win a battle when the enemy cannot be clearly defined.

When one takes a critical look at both main political parties, it is very hard to distinguish which one is more liberal than the other and it seems like each is trying to out-liberal the other.

I watched the buffoons of the GOP act the court jester over the Terri Schiavo debacle - unconstitutional and an international embarrassment.

I watch and behold grown men and women make fools of themselves in both parties acting like spoiled brats caring for one thing and one thing only - winning an election at all costs. With a complete disregard for the United States Constitution, both parties go after each other in a power struggle because one Party says they can do a better job than the other and neither is worth the powder to blow them all to hell. Neither Party argues or debates their policies with the Constitution in mind.

When I witness people like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid say in the public domain, "The will of the Congress will be done" or, "The will of the Congress has been heard" and no one challenges them on that, something is seriously wrong and I have to question the mental capacity of those that have sworn to protect and defend the United States Constitution. Last I knew, it was the will of We The People that WILL be done and WILL be heard.

We The People no longer have standing, so says SCOTUS. Excuse me? And the GOP says and does nothing of this? Do you support such nonsense? That very statement is unconstitutional and you ask me if I have abandoned you? I am a Soldier and you would not appreciate what I really have to say to you...perhaps one day face-to-face I will just to watch you tremble in shame. I'll even show you my battle scars - the physical and psychological.

And, you should be ashamed. You should be ashamed that the United States Constitution gets left out of the debates except for the convenient mention of it when the cameras are rolling and republican democrats in drag are railing about Big Tents and winning elections. Shame on you.

Shame on you for giving lip service to border security.

Shame on you for allowing two Border Patrol officers to be sent to prison because democrat in drag Sutton's career enhancement was more important than two men that did their damn jobs and some socialist hack nobody gave the criminal a free pass and punished two men for doing their jobs. And the GOP did nothing until the very end...and that is unacceptable as well. Shame on President Bush and the GOP for that domestic and international embarrassment.

Shame on you for fighting like little girly-men over the unconstitutional non-stimulus stimulus quagmire that no one read and not one of you in Congress challenged the constitutionality of it.

Shame on you for even considering HR45.

Shame on you for passing HR1388 and the equally unconstitutional Senate version. How is that constitutional again?

Shame on you for passing HR1913 and soon S909. What is the constitutional authority for that again?

Shame on you for NOT debating HR450, the Enumerated Powers Act of 2009. Why are you so afraid of that Bill? Is it forcing the federal government to actually adhere to the United States Constitution? Why are you so afraid of We The People?

The New Battle: A Convening of Conservative Warriors

Today begins the new battle for Conservatism. There is only one place to start and that is with Republicans in Congress. Let us not think back on the past weaknesses of our Conservative leaders. Now is the time to demand boldness from them. Let us encourage the Republican wing of Congress to get to the microphones, write editorials, send emails, seek out Conservative radio, and take on the subtle issues that are designed to move Conservatism across the map.

 Let us know that while the Conservative voice is not strong enough to make "all the difference," it is strong enough to make "some difference." Let us get to know the Committees of Congress, identify the Conservative members and stay in contact with them.

Let us know the Bills coming to Committee, have a feel for their dispensation and make our arguments directly to the Conservative Committee members.

Let us never allow our Senators and Representatives to bow to the Majority without loudly and strongly making the Conservative case. Even when we lose - let them hear from us.

 Let us know all we can about the United Nations. Let us note every word uttered about the U.N., by our President and our U.N. Ambassador. Blog about it. Watch it. Blog about it even more. Let us be informed about Senator Obama's Global Poverty Bill (s.2433). Let us get to know that Bill intimately. Let us determine how tying the U.N.'s Millennium Goals to that Bill can be imposed on America.

Let us have conversations with our Conservative Congressmen about s.2433. Let us renew the cry for Drill Here, Drill Now. This issue has not been defeated with an Obama-Biden win, but there is no doubt the struggle will be long and hard. Let us not make the battle easy for Liberals.

 Let us demand that all those executives complicit in the bailout be known and punished. This must not fade away, lost in the helpless feeling that we can do nothing. We need a battle cry. Let us not throw up our hands and wait for the next election.

Our Senators and Representatives receive a paycheck from us, and it has not been money well spent. Let us make them work for their pay, and in doing so, let us help them strengthen their voice in the hallowed halls of our Capitol. Let us not just lie down and take it. Let us offer daily support against Senator Reid and Speaker Pelosi. Let us be in IM mode.

 Finally, let us continue to seek answers to the questions we've been asking about Senator Obama's background. There will be a groundswell now to put all that behind us and move forward. If there is nothing worthy to be disputed, I'll accept that, but not until I know.

 As I write this, Fox News has a clip of last night's rally for Obama in Grant Park. In the center of the screen is the red flag of Communism - the hammer and sickle flag is physically being help up for the camera.
