Ten Buck Friday Blogs Send Their Bucks to Michele Bachmann Week 1

RightKlik announced at Midnight EDT that Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn) is the recipient of funds from Ten Buck Friday Blogs with 42% of the vote. While some of us donated last week, this is the first week of promoting the program, so this is Week 1, even though some of us donated to poll winner Sharron Angle last week. Angle is aiming for Senator Harry's Reid's senate seat. After today, there are 18 Fridays ahead before the November election.

Bachmann was my choice this week, and I also nominated her, along with others, I'm sure. Michele has a hard target on her back in Minnesota, because she is an extremely effective conservative. Her voice is strong and even when the press doesn't want to give her a microphone, she finds one - unlike many Republicans on Capitol Hill.

My blogging friend and war blogger, Holger at Holger Awakens, is a Minnesotan. He says Democrats are sending huge donations into the state. She is their Number 1 pick to destroy, and according to Holger, the race will be a close one.

So this week, Ten Buck Friday bloggers will be sending their donations of $10 each, and maybe more, to Michele Bachmann (Donate @ Michele Bachmann for Congress). At this time, we have 30 blogs participating, equating to $300.00, but I notice we have many more than 30 votes, so from comments I've read, we will have readers donating along with us, even though they do not have blogs. We welcome those readers and anyone else.

If you are donating on this Ten Buck Friday, look for a spot on the donation form to write in: "Donation made with Ten Buck Friday Bloggers," or something similar. On the donation forms I've noticed there is a box for "employer" and a box for "occupation." I used the "occupation" box to write in a message about Ten Buck Fridays. Ten Buck Fridays do not collect money from you. Everyone makes their own donation with with credit card or whatever method they choose. That's why it is important to note on the donation form: "Ten Buck Friday donation."

Michele has a hard target on her back and the Democrat machine is zeroed in. As Levin says, she is so effective, they have to get rid of her.

Michele Bachmann Video No Illegitimate Health Care: Bachmann: No Paying Taxes

At a Saturday rally in St. Paul, Minnesota, with 4,000 present, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) was representing the future of the our country, which is you and me, mine and yours. She talks about the taxes in health care, which will be passed without representation if the bill is 'deemed' passed by the Slaughter rule. TPMuckracker charges Bachmann with calling for civil disobedience -- "a sitting member of Congress leads citizens in breaking the law." The point is, if health care is passed with the Slaughter Rule, it will be many sitting members of the House breaking the law of legislative process. Health care will not be law via the Slaughter Rule. Americans, Republicans and Democrats, will not allow this Congress to make law by 'deeming' it so.

On April 7, 2010, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will host a fundraiser for U.S. Representative Michele Bachmann's re-election campaign.

The event will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis, MN, with a private reception and photo opportunity starting at 4:30 PM, a general reception at 5:00 PM, and dinner at 6:00 PM.

Honorary Hosts for the evening include Governor Tim Pawlenty, Senator Norm Coleman, Congressman John Kline and Congressman Erik Paulsen.

Glenn Beck's Most Conservative in Congress: Beck Picks Bachmann DeMint

Glenn Beck is on Greta Van Susteren this minute. Greta asked him who he agrees with more than anyone in Congress. He said he did not want to endorse anyone, but Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) was "doing the Tea Party thing" before Tea Parties existed, and Senator Jim DeMint  (R-SC) "is doing a very good job." I paraphrased but think I'm close to Beck's exact comment.

I believe these two are everything he says they are.

Congresswomen Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn-6th) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN-7th) have dropped out of participating in the February Tea Party Nation Convention in February. Governor Sarah Palin is slated to be the keynote speaker. With Blackburn dropping out, conservative blogger-extraordinaire will introduce Palin.

The convention is a for-profit venture by Judson Phillips, a Tennessee lawyer, who says he hopes to make a profit. Rep. Bachmann was also scheduled to speak at the event to be held at Opryland Resort in Nashville.

A spokesman emphasizes that Bachmann has a problem with this particular event, not the tea party movement in general. In fact, another group—the Tea Party Patriots—is claiming credit. "We put pressure on Bachmann, and we're glad that she didn't go," a coordinator tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press, "I'm glad that she did the right thing."

Bachmann was to speak at a Saturday breakfast event. She would have not have received a speaking fee. 

From pricey tickets to Palin's reported $100,000 speaking fee, tea partiers recently have objected to the convention as out of line with the group's values. Backdahl and other Minnesota tea partiers do not plan to attend.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) was scheduled to introduce Sarah Palin, but said she is bowing out because the "non-profit status" put her in "an awkward position." Look at this twist:

 The decision follows protests over the Feb. 4-6 event's $549 cost and Palin's reported $100,000 speaking fee, which some members of the Taxed Enough Already movement thought was too pricey for grassroots activists. The Mid-South TEA party's spokesman, Jim Tomasik of Cordova, has called the Nashville event an effort by the Republican Party to co-opt the movement.

 The latest report is that Andrew Breitbart will now introduce Palin.

In the video below Arlen Specter (D-PA) objects to Michele Bachmann (R-MN) talking about prosperity, so he turns on the Democrat charm, gets personal, and tells this U.S. Congresswoman to "act like a lady." Remember Senator Barbara Boxer excoriating Brigadier General Michael Walsh  for calling her ma'am rather than senator? Bachmann did nothing to deserve this. Arrogant - been in Washington far too long...Specter is running 9 points behind Republican Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania this minute.

Nina Gershon Acorn: Gershon Rules Congress Impotent: Michele Bachmann Barney Frank:

 Judge Nina Gershon ruled that ACORN will continue to receive millions from American taxpayers, effectively ruling Congress impotent to take away what they giveth; and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) discusses Rep. Barney Frank's (D-MASS) amendment in the House Financial Services Committee to allow ACORN a seat on the panel that monitors the Financial Services Committee regulations. See a video below.

Congress banned federal payments to ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) after video surfaced of ACORN advising clients how to avoid federal taxes on illegal businesses, purchase a house to be used for prostitution and trafficking foreign 13-year-old girls for prostitution. The ruling renders Congress even more impotent than already shown to be in this era of Obama Czars.

Congress can give, but apparently Congress cannot take away, once you are on the federal Philanthropic gravy train.

From The Hill:

Judge Nina Gershon concluded that the ban amounted to a "bill of attainder" that unfairly singled out ACORN.

"[The plaintiffs] have been singled out by Congress for punishment that directly and immediately affects their ability to continue to obtain federal funding, in the absence of any judicial, or even administrative, process of adjudicating guilt," Gershon wrote in her decision.

Gershon said ACORN had demonstrated "irreperable harm" from the ban, while "the potential harm to the government, in granting the injunction, is less."

"The public will not suffer harm by allowing the plaintiffs to continue work on contracts duly awarded by federal agencies, which was stopped solely by reason of [the ban]," Gershon wrote.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), the ranking Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee said the following about Clinton-appointed Judge Gershon:

This left-wing activist Judge is setting a dangerous precedent that left-wing political organizations plagued by criminal accusations have a constitutional entitlement to taxpayer dollars," Issa said. "The Obama Administration should immediately move to appeal this injunction.”

A couple of questions:

(1) will we now see organizations not receiving federal funds, or not receiving sufficient federal funds, also suing Congress to get on the gravy train? How can we have one without the other? and

(2) can "we the people" sue Congress for using our money for fraudulent purposes (which can go far beyond just ACORN)?

Bachmann talks about both of these issues in the excellent video below. Here is a portion of her comments:

ACORN, a criminally corrupt organization, that was recently caught on videotape, counseling a pimp and a prostitute, who wanted to bring underage illegal aliens into the U.S....counseling them on how they could purchase a house of prostitution, to further prostitution of underage illegal aliens. That's about as bad as it gets, so now Barney Frank wants to create a slot, a seat on the oversight board of our financial services industry in America, and give ACORN a seat? This is beyond outrage and this shows how out of touch not only Chairman Frank is, but how out of touch this Congress is, and for any members of this Congress to vote for Chairman Frank's financial services bill, knowing that ACORN will have a seat at the board of directors, overseeing all of financial services, it is time to be serious time, be serious, and I just think it would be reprehensible for Congress to cast that vote.

You and I have been "serious" for a long time now, about the fraud inside the halls of Congress. Frank should lose his seat just for entertaining the amendment. It is a hard pill to swallow to believe that his constitutients want this graft and corruption in the name of governance, coming from their districts.

William Bill Sparkman Suicide? Census Worker Sparkman Suicide in Kentucky?

Remember William "Bill" Sparkman, the part time census worker found hanging from a tree, naked and bound with the word "Fed" written across his check in black marker? Police are looking closely at suicide in this case. See update 11-14-09 below.

On September 12th Mr. Sparkman was found hanged, with his feet "in contact with the ground," in the Daniel Boone National Forest near Manchester, Kentucky. Immediate reports speculated that he was taking a census in the area, although no confirming evidence that he was working has come forward. The FBI did join the investigation as it is a federal crime to attack a federal worker, during or because of, his job. Now, police are considering suicide.

Liberals immediately saw this as a crime probably committed by backwoods red necks, spurred on by Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Bachmann and WorldNetDaily.

Jerry Weaver, the man who found Mr. Sparkman said his eyes covered with duct tap, he was wearing only a pair of socks and was gagged with something that looked like a red rag.

And they even had duct tape around his neck. And they had like his identification tag on his neck. They had it duct-taped to the side of his neck, on the right side, almost on his right shoulder..."

Nevertheless, police are pulling back on the idea of homicide and say there are several reasons why suicide may be a possibility:

There were no defensive wounds on Sparkman's body, and while his hands were bound with duct-tape, they were still somewhat mobile, suggesting he could have manipulated the rope, the officials said.

NewsBusters says the media has gone silent, now that suicide is a possiblity. Few are talking about Mr. Sparkman these days, as there may be no one to blame.This is a very sad story. William Sparkman was a substitute teacher and has battled non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for years. He was single and had an adopted son. That I.D. tag on his neck is exceedingly weird.

Update 11-24-09:
Authorities today said that Mr. Sparkman committed suicide, and he worked alone in the act of making his death appear to be murder. Read the story here.

Pelosi Gagging America: Pelosi Prevents ACORN Spending Debate

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi continues the gagging of American by preventing adequate debate over federal funds going to ACORN. After Pelosi imposed a gag rule only 22 minutes into the debate of Republican amendments by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and Rep. Steve King (R-VA) to stop funds for ACORN, Bachmann released the following statement:

ACORN is celebrating its 39^th birthday and as a gift from its friends in the House leadership two amendments that would keep ACORN from getting federal funds through the Census and other federal programs have been denied debate.

I am disappointed the Democrat leadership has once again violated their own promise for an open and honest debate and denied the opportunity for Members of Congress to go on the record about whose side they are: ACORN or the American taxpayer.

When families are struggling to make ends meet, Congress should be held accountable for how they spend $64.3 billion of Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars. The American people deserve better.

Michele Bachmann Rejects Census, ACORN: Constitutional Revolt!

U.S. Representative Michele Bachmann (R-Minn-6th) will reject the premise of the census for several reasons, one of which is the involvement of ACORN in collecting data, another is the personal nature of the questions asked of each household, but most important, she says the census, in its present form, is not constitutional. Maybe this is a first step to a Constitutional revolt! Maybe this is our clarion call. Bachmann said she will "not fill out anything more than the number of people in her household."

I know for my family the only question we will be answering is how many people are in our home," she said. "We won't be answering any information beyond that, because the Constitution doesn't require any information beyond that."

Rep. Bachmann told the Washington Times' "America's Morning News" that the questions have become:

...very intricate, very personal" and she also fears ACORN, the community organizing group that came under fire for its voter registration efforts last year, will be part of the Census Bureau's door-to-door information collection efforts. They will be in charge of going door to door and collecting data from the American public," she said. "This is very concerning."

U.S. Census Bureau attorney Shelly Lowe said that Bachmann is misreading the law, stating that the U.S. legal code says anyone over 18 years of age who refuses to answer "any of the questions" on the census can be fined up to $5,000. More when available...because believe me, there will be more. The claws and clacking tongues love to bash Bachmann and this lady is always up for the fight. I must say, I love to see our Representatives and Senators staunchly deferring to the U.S. Constitution. I only wish it happened more often. This is a good start.
