Obama Vows to Ratchet-up Pressure on Iran: Funniest Quote of the Year

Funniest quote of the year: "The idea here is to keep on turning up the pressure" ~ Barack Obama.  The operative word is "keep." We have not been ratcheting up pressure on Iran, so we cannot "keep" ratcheting up the pressure, especially with the veto powers of Commies China and Russia sitting on the U.N. Security Council.

Barack Obama
No worries...no rush. Just let this Iranian banty rooster continue to kill our military, his own citizens and threaten people everywhere.

More:
"In our talks with China it was agreed that tools such as sanctions have lost their effectiveness," he told reporters in Beijing.
I would like to see an American leader say to the Security Council, "screw you, strong letter to follow." I will get a coalition of nations to isolate Iran, thus making my country safer , Israel safer and the surrounding Islamic countries safer. If I fail, then so be it, but it won't be because I didn't try."

Oh, but wait...US Ambassador to the U.N., Susan Rice, said Thursday that China is now ready for "serious" talks. Ridiculous. How many times has we gone through this? The answer is over and over, and year after year.

In February, Iranian president Mahmoud Achmadinejad said his country had begun the enrichment of fuel at 20%:
...experts say Iran could convert a stockpile of 20% enriched uranium to weapons grade material within six months.
Former UN Ambassador John Bolton said this week that Obama is naive in thinking sanctions can now stop the country from acquiring a nuclear arsenal:
The test is, can you pass a sanctions resolution that will stop Iran from continuing to pursue nuclear weapons, and the unambiguous answer is no. This continued talk about sanctions is counterproductive because it gives people the kind of a warm and fuzzy and comfortable feeling that we're doing something when in reality we're not."
We let the IAEA's now retired Mohamed El-Baradei, and a Nobel Peace prize awardee,  lie to the world for years about Iran's nuclear aggression, and just one month ago, just before he was set to exit the world eye, he said "Iran has not implemented any of the measures called for by the Security Council...." In May 2008, El-Baradei said Iran was not after a bomb:
"We haven't seen indications or any concrete evidence that Iran is building a nuclear weapon and I've been saying that consistently for the last five years," ElBaradei asserted.
The bottom line is this: we have let the U.N. Security Council be dominated by Islamic nations, and we allowed a Muslim to watch the hen house.

Richard Grenell Susan Rice Ineffective at UN: Damning Review of Susan Rice - Wildly Ineffective

Richard Grenell, the Ambassador to the UN during the Bush Administration wrote a damning review of Obama's Ambassador, Susan Rice. Writing in the Huffington Post, he said Rice had been "wildly ineffective" this past year. Grenell was extraordinarily frank. The "wildly ineffective" comment is just the beginning.

Susan Rice

Grenell charged that Rice has been a social butterfly [my interpretation] and ignored her duties on the UN Security Council. Mr. Grenell, as experienced as he is, misses the point. Rice and Obama have no intention of stirring up the Security Council. How uncomfortable would that be? The trouble-makers are all Islamic Countries, with the exception of North Korea, and the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) runs the place. The Council will not take action on Iran or North Korea so, why bother, unless showing up if you aren't sanctioning Iran?

Here's some snippets from The Hill:
Richard Grenell, who served eight years in the Bush administration as spokesman for four U.S. ambassadors at the U.N., wrote Monday on the Huffington Post that Rice has been more active "in the social scene of Washington and the White House" than at the U.N., as suggested by a Security Council Report study that notes a marked decrease in activity at the Security Council over the past year.

That study in the Report, which is affiliated with Columbia University, said Council decisions dropped by 26 percent in the Obama administration's first year to the lowest level since 1991.
"For an Administration that promised to utilize the UN and improve our reputation around the world, its dinner-party circuit strategy isn't making America more secure," Grenell wrote.
Grenell mentioned Rice's "larger than normal DC-based staff," plus her 200-person NY based staff, which he says she spends little time with. He spoke of her Annie Leibovitz "glamour spread in Vogue Magazine, shot in an empty Security Council Chamber. She didn't show for the Council's Haiti crisis meeting to expand the UN's peacekeeping mission, and failed to call an emergency meeting to put request more help for the devasted country
...it was UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon that came to the Security Council to request more troops - the American Ambassador hadn't bothered."
Nevertheless, Rice said she has had a very productive year.

"The Most Moral Army In The World!"

By Findalis of Monkey in the Middle

Is the assessment given to the IDF by Colonel Richard Kemp (Great Britain) to the UN Human Rights Council 12th Special Session, 16 October 2009 Debate on Goldstone Report. The Goldstone report (you can read this work of fiction here) is based on lies, innuendos, and hearsay. There is no factual data in this work of fiction (the conclusion was made way before the members of the committee were picked) and it is considered the honest truth by the Obama Administration trying to appease their Muslim masters. It is the only way Obama and his Muslim cohorts can "legally" destroy Israel (since the Muslims are too incompetent to do it with an army). The world will not listen to reason and the truth. The world has already decided on the verdict (with the great appeaser Barack Hussein Obama leading the way to the slaughter [His his idol Hitler would have been so proud of him!]). I ask you, truthseeker, to listen to the words of this British hero, and judge for yourself. Col. Richard Kemp on the U.N.

Goldstone Report

Text of the speech Thank you, Mr. President. I am the former commander of the British forces in Afghanistan. I served with NATO and the United Nations; commanded troops in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Macedonia; and participated in the Gulf War. I spent considerable time in Iraq since the 2003 invasion, and worked on international terrorism for the UK Government’s Joint Intelligence Committee. Mr. President, based on my knowledge and experience, I can say this: During Operation Cast Lead, the Israeli Defence Forces did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare. Israel did so while facing an enemy that deliberately positioned its military capability behind the human shield of the civilian population. Hamas, like Hizballah, are expert at driving the media agenda. Both will always have people ready to give interviews condemning Israeli forces for war crimes. They are adept at staging and distorting incidents. The IDF faces a challenge that we British do not have to face to the same extent. It is the automatic, Pavlovian presumption by many in the international media, and international human rights groups, that the IDF are in the wrong, that they are abusing human rights. The truth is that the IDF took extraordinary measures to give Gaza civilians notice of targeted areas, dropping over 2 million leaflets, and making over 100,000 phone calls. Many missions that could have taken out Hamas military capability were aborted to prevent civilian casualties. During the conflict, the IDF allowed huge amounts of humanitarian aid into Gaza. To deliver aid virtually into your enemy's hands is, to the military tactician, normally quite unthinkable. But the IDF took on those risks. Despite all of this, of course innocent civilians were killed. War is chaos and full of mistakes. There have been mistakes by the British, American and other forces in Afghanistan and in Iraq, many of which can be put down to human error. But mistakes are not war crimes. More than anything, the civilian casualties were a consequence of Hamas’ way of fighting. Hamas deliberately tried to sacrifice their own civilians. Mr. President, Israel had no choice apart from defending its people, to stop Hamas from attacking them with rockets. And I say this again: the IDF did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare. Thank you, Mr. President.
Col. Richard Kemp, CBE, served in the British Army from 1977 - 2006. He was Commander of British Forces in Afghanistan, an infantry battalion Commanding Officer, worked for the Joint Intelligence Committee and COBR and completed 14 operational tours of duty around the globe. Richard Kemp was appointed Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), Military Division, in recognition of his intelligence work in Northern Ireland in 1992–1993 and was awarded the Queen's Commendation for Bravery as a commander in the United Nations Protection Force in Bosnia in 1994. He was appointed Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE), Military Division, in the New Year Honours 2006 for his service in relation to the London bomb attacks in 2005, and for his work for the British and US governments in Iraq the same year. Thousands have watched his testimony. Now is the time to turn his words into action. Write to your Congressman, to your Senator, remind them that lies do not make a truth no matter how many times you tell them. Remind them that you vote, that you support Israel, and will not vote for them if they do not do all that they can to get the President to use our veto in the Security Council when this pack of lies comes up for a vote. There is truth and there are lies. Goldstone is a lie.

The UN Will Save Hamas' Ass.

Cross posted by Findalis of Monkey in the Middle 2 Reports that have come to me. The first is from UN Watch concerning the truce they want to impose on Israel.

Take Action Now: Oppose U.N. Nod to Hamas Terror
As Israel struggles to defend its civilians from Hamas rocket attacks—10,000 since 2001, and more than 500 in the past few days alone—Arab and Islamic states have called an emergency “Special Session” of the U.N. Human Rights Council for Friday. Their proposed resolution condemns Israel alone, while covering up for Hamas's double war crime: its deliberate targeting of Israeli civilians, and its use of Palestinian civilians as human shields. Take action now — urge E.U. leaders to vote to support democracies and oppose terrorism.
Just click here and send your message to the EU. This resolution will just impose the same failed idea that happened after the 2006 war. The one in which the UN actually helped Hizbollah rearm. This next report comes from MEMRI. It is a short video showing the true face of Hamas and Islam taken before Operation Cast Lead. Please watch it, share it with others.
Featured are Hamas leader Khaled Mash'al, Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniya, Hamas MPs Mushir Al-Masri and Fathi Hamad, Hamas MP and cleric Yunis Al-Astal, Palestinian Legislative Council acting speaker Sheikh Ahmad Bahr, and Hamas clerics Wael Al-Zarad and Muhsen Abu 'Ita. Viewers will also witness Hamas military training for adults and children, anti-American speeches at rallies including burning of the American flag and calls of support for "The Afghan Mujahidin", Hamas Al-Aqsa TV children's shows, and more.

There are very many examples of these men saying the exact same thing. And many more going even further and calling for the death of every Jew in the world. It is the duty of Muslims to carry out that wish.
From the Koran and Hadiths Sura 5:51 - O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people. Bukhari 52: 176 - The hour of judgment shall not happen until the Muslims fight the Jews. The Muslims shall kill the Jews to the point that the Jew shall hide behind a big rock or a tree and the rock or tree shall call on the Muslim saying: hey, O Muslim there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him, except the Gharqad tree which will not say, for it is the tree of Jews. Bukhari 54:524 - The Prophet said, "A group of Israelites were lost. Nobody knows what they did. But I do not see them except that they were cursed and changed into rats, for if you put the milk of a she-camel in front of a rat, it will not drink it, but if the milk of a sheep is put in front of it, it will drink it." I told this to Ka'b who asked me, "Did you hear it from the Prophet ?" I said, "Yes." Ka'b asked me the same question several times.; I said to Ka'b. "Do I read the Torah? (i.e. I tell you this from the Prophet.) Tabari 7:97 - The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared, "Kill any Jew who falls under your power." Tabari 9:69 - "Killing Unbelievers is a small matter to us" The words of Muhammad, prophet of Islam.
I could have placed hundreds of quotes from the Koran and Hadiths here, those were just a few. The ones every Muslim knowns by heart and is committed to carrying out. The UN has become the center of Islamic anti-Semitism in the world. And the Western nations will just go along with whatever their Muslim masters say, for to do otherwise would stop the flow of oil to their lands. Or would it? It is time for the leaders of the Free World to stand up to these barbarians and say NO!

Ann Bayefsky: The UN War on Israel

I received an email from Eye on the U.N. with the text of an article Anne Bayefsky wrote for The New York Daily News. Bayefsky is a clarion voice trumpeting the dastardly deeds done in that den of vipers at the U.N.

As pertinent as her statements are to the current Israel-Gaza conflict, also of vital importance is the background she provides about the United Nations. American's have many battles these days. The U.N. should be considered an enemy of the first import.

(All emphais is Maggie's - Some paragraph formatting for easier reading)

 The UN War on Israel

Bush and Rice, don't let the UN sell out srael
By Anne Bayefsky

The United Nations war on Israel has never been on the back burner, and its feeding frenzy over Gaza is no exception. The Security Council has now held four sessions. The General Assembly has scheduled an emergency session for Thursday night, and on Friday, the UN's lead human rights body, the Human Rights Council, will hold a special session to damn Israel.

To put this in perspective, the Security Council is the UN's lead response to terrorism. After 9/11, the Security Council started convening as "the Counter-Terrorism Committee" or CTC.

The CTC has never identified a single terrorist, terrorist organization or state sponsor of terrorism - because the Islamic chokehold on the UN leaves it without a definition of terrorism to this day.

The General Assembly has had 10 emergency sessions in its history. Six of those, including the 10th, have been on Israel, and the tenth has been "reconvened" 16 times since 1997.

In other words, there is a permanent General Assembly emergency session on Israel. The same Assembly never managed to hold a single emergency session on the 800,000 people who died in the Rwandan genocide, or the 3 million who are dead or displaced in Sudan.

As for the "reformed" Human Rights Council, it is now holding its fifth special session on Israel. By comparison, the Council has held nine regular sessions on human rights in all of the other 191 UN states.

In fact, over its two and a half-year history, the Council has condemned Israel more often than all other states in the United Nations combined. It is hardly surprising, therefore, that since Israel finally decided to defend itself against the 8,000 rockets and mortar shells directed at its civilian population over eight years, the long UN knives have been quickly drawn.

In addition to all the meetings, which are now webcast for propaganda purposes around the world, UN officials have used their global platforms to vilify the Jewish state and to try to tie Israel's hands behind its back. In one form or another, UN officials always manage to choke on the word "self-defense."

From out of the woodwork come UN gurus from the myriad UN bodies which have Israel-bashing as part of their job description:

Richard Falk, UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories Occupied Since 1967; Karen AbuZayd, Commission-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA); John Ging, UNRWA Director of Operations in Gaza; Maxwell Gaylard, United Special Coordinator in the Occupied Territories (UNSCO), Paul Badji and the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People; Robert Serry, Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process; and Christine van Nieuwenhuyse, World Food Program Representative in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
Right alongside those folks for the past two weeks have been the UN "experts" and agencies whose well-being - their:
- stature and internal authority, - re-appointment, promotion, pension, - operational funding and institutional perks of all kinds -
depend on being on the Arab side of all Arab-Israeli conflicts.

These people include the Secretary-General, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and UN Emergency Relief Coordinator; the UN Office of the Humanitarian Coordinator (OCHA); the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict; the Chairperson of the Coordination Committee of Special Procedures; the Executive Director, UN Population Fund (UNFPA); and the Director-General, UNESCO.

Together all of these UN actors have mounted a feverish chorus alleging that Israel has committed "wanton aggression," "monstrosities," "massacres," and "crimes against humanity." In each case humanized Palestinian victims are placed on one side of the scale, and a small number of Israeli deaths are set on the other. Evidently, the UN only started counting Israeli bodies last week. Left out of this phony "proportionality test" is the terror associated with every Hamas-driven attempt to cause more death and destruction.

And it is politically incorrect in the extreme to mention that the blameless Palestinians freely elected a terrorist group sworn to killing Jews. In short, Hamas has perfected a form of human sacrifice in the 21st century.

It launches rockets from schools, uses ambulances as transport, hides behind women and children, and wears civilian clothing as camouflage. Palestinian civilian casualties are the Palestinian leadership's weapon of choice.

The only body still allegedly oblivious to this grotesque calculation is the UN. Asked about Hamas' use of civilians as human shields, UNRWA chief, AbuZayd responded: "I don't know of these human shields being used... What I would say is that Hamas very much leave us alone; let me say, they respect us."

The UN cacophony is not what Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had envisaged for her swan song. She hoped to exit with a Security Council resolution that she rammed through on December 16th, against Israel's wishes, praising her stillborn Annapolis initiative and bringing UN tentacles ever closer to their Israeli target by involving the Security Council more closely in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Which brings us to today's situation. Every anti-Israel idea out there has one major goal - whether it is propagated by France, Europe, Russia, Egypt, or the UN. They all want in on the Arab-Israeli conflict. Solutions subject to negotiations between the parties? Israeli control over its own borders?

Not if any of these players can help it. The drafts of UN presidential statements and resolutions now being floated include one key element. Wrest control from Israel and diminish Israeli sovereignty.

The drafts insert international players via calls to "provide protection for civilian populations" or "establish and deploy an international observer force." Any such insertion of international actors will have only one result: to diminish the ability of Israel now and in the future to protect its citizens. Israeli leaders must reject any formula that smacks of such a degradation of their inherent right to control their own destiny.

And as for the United States, if President Bush is looking for an honorable swan song, it's now or never. This is the moment to tell your Secretary of State, after her years of a vain-glorious search for approval from the international community, that Israel is not for sale.

Obama's Global Poverty Act - Here's the Evil in S.2433

The issues are staggering, and while we might be compelled to believe that these things can never happen to America, read the following and see if you still feel that these evils cannot surmount our freedoms.

Barack Obama's Global Poverty Act will undoubtedly cost the U.S. billions in new monies for foreign aid, but that' not the most important issue.

All text in red and all bold text is Maggie's emphasis.

Is Senator Obama's Global Poverty Act (Senate Bill 2433) tied to the United Nations, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) or the U.N.'s Millennium Development Goal (MDG) in anyway?

Yes. S.2433, the language of the Bill says: "A bill to REQUIRE the President to develop and IMPLEMENT," "the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal." Senator Obama's S.2433 cannot be separated from the U.N. Millennium Development Goal.

Who implements S.2433 after the President "creates" a plan? The Secretary of State, Condoleesa Rice, her appointees with Congressional oversight by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the Senate Appropriations Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Appropriations Committee.

What do we know about the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)?

Follow the links and be prepared for sudden nausea.

Does S.2433 require a specific strategy (some believe that it does not)?

The Bill says that we [the U.S.] will IMPLEMENT the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal? Can it be any clearer?

Does The Global Poverty Act subjugate the United States to the will of the United Nations? Yes, and it does so through the United Nations' Millennium Development Goal. It is important to remember that the MDG is a U.N. program. The following is the proof that the MDG is a "tax on the world" levied by the United Nations. The text addresses only the requirements to be placed upon the U.S. and other countries, it leaves out most of the goal of eradicating poverty and disease, and focuses on how that eradication will be accomplished. Text taken directly from the U.N. General Assembly Millennium Forum.
The Forum (urges, advocates, calls upon or insists): The United Nations To introduce binding codes of conduct for transnational companies and effective tax regulation on the international financial markets, investing this money in programmes for poverty eradication.
Here's a tax on international finances! Who are transnational companies?
To explore the feasibility of a legally binding convention on overcoming poverty, to be drafted in effective consultation and partnership with people living in poverty themselves.

To carry out the objective of moving towards the abolition of war by practical means, the United Nations Secretariat and interested Governments, or a separate group of Governments, should develop a draft proposal for global disarmament to be discussed in a fourth special session of the General Assembly on disarmament.
Someone, I think Orwell, said War is evil, but it is often the lesser evil. The U.N. plans for globalism, with the U.N. at the head of the snake, to abolish war. They think they are God.

To respect national sovereignty and the prohibition of the use of force, which are fundamental in the Charter of the United Nations. This principle must not be undermined. In the solution of conflicts, all peaceful methods in accordance with Chapter 6 of the Charter must be tried before measures of force are undertaken in accordance with Chapter 7. The General Assembly should set up a broad commission to analyse standards for forceful action in cases where crimes against humanity, war crimes or genocide are committed.
1) The U.N.'s "prohibition" of force is not to be undermined. 2) How does a global principle protect anyone's sovereignty? 3) "Peaceful method" means un-acted upon Resolutions - we have painful historical reminders. .
To expand the United Nations arms register in order to show the production and sale of small arms and light weapons. It should include specific names of their producers and traders.
Our Second Amendment rights monitored by the United Nations.
Together with nearly all Governments that participated in the recent Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty review conference, Forum participants consider that unilateral deployment of nationwide missile defence by any country could have dangerously destabilizing effects and create pressures to permanently retain high levels of nuclear weapons or even to increase existing levels. The deployment of theatre missile defences in Asia or other regions could have serious regional destabilizing effects. Such plans should be relinquished in favour of a worldwide missile launch warning system and a conference to review methods of ending production of long-range surface-to-surface missiles and long-range bombers

To establish a commission at the United Nations to devise ways of stopping the technological development of new and more advanced weapons that create new imbalances in global power relationships. The Conference on Disarmament should also establish a working group on this subject.
The U.S. met their non-proliferation goals five years early, while the U.N. was enabling Iran to grow its nuclear program.

1) No long-range bombers for the U.S.

2) No surface-to-surface missiles for the U.S.

3) No missile defense for the U.S.

4) No new technological development

5) No more power to protect our nation
To initiate a worldwide freeze on armed forces and a 25 per cent cut in production and export of major weapons and small arms, and to that end to adopt an international code of conduct on arms exports, as the beginning of worldwide build-down of conventional forces.
That's a "worldwide freeze" on armed forces - on our Marines, our Army, our Navy, our Reserves, our Coast Guard! AND an international "code of conduct" to implement a "build-down" of conventional forces.
To increase their efforts to promote and to comply with international humanitarian laws, limiting the methods and means of war and protecting non-combatants, civilian populations and humanitarian personnel.

The international community civil society, Governments and the United Nations has a responsibility to stop promptly any genocide, war crimes or any massive violations of human rights. All those involved should seek to avoid any confusion between humanitarian help and military intervention.
Internationalism governs. Sovereignty is abolished. The United Nations Security Council reigns. Islam is implemented throughout the world.

Globalization needs defining....it is transforming our world into a global village...We, of all ages, in particular our future generation the youth claim a space for that transnational civil society that even now is rising on the world scene with unprecedented ties, networking, exchanges and common action among peoples, groups, communities and organizations.
The youth of the world will "claim a space" for "that transnational civil society" in the world's "global village..." Where might that "space" be? Do the people in that "space" have a say about the youth's claims? Again, for emphasis: a transnational civil society
To develop a legally binding framework for regulating the actions of transnational corporations (TNCs), respecting the international labour, human rights, and sustainable environmental standards set by the United Nations and its relevant specialized agencies. The regulatory mechanism should include the active participation of workers and communities directly affected by TNC operations in order to prevent abuses and to subordinate TNCs to democratic civil authority and community-based modelling of socio-economic systems.
As I look around the web, I find no list of the evil-doing transnational corporations. If the U.N. plans to "subordinate" the transnationals to "civil authority" and "community-based modelling," we need to know who the culprits are. Could Google be on the list? Nah. Halliburton? I think so. "Big Oil" - oh yeah, but only careful "subordination" here, because the world needs "Big Oil" tax money, as well as its investment in exploration and drilling. Oh...there's always "nationalizing" the world's oil fields. The Islamic countries know how to drill for oil. They rule the U.N. Very convenient - but this is only a guess.
To examine and regulate transnational corporations and the increasingly negative influence of their trade on the environment. The attempt by companies to patent life is ethically unacceptable.
What does this mean, and who is patenting the life of others?
To move towards democratic political control of the global economy so that it may serve our vision.
The vision: The U.N. controlling a global economy - to serve the U.N.'s vision

How is a democracy defined within the hallowed halls of the U.N.? You and I don't have a clue but we know such democracies will be "subordinated" to the U.N.'s "civil society"
To develop migration policies, both emigration and immigration, in conformity with human rights standards, particularly to respect the global principle of freedom of circulation for all.
This is terrifying, really. The goal is to remove the sovereignty of our borders. We need to get up each morning with the idea of the U.N.'s "global principle of freedom of circulation" vision, think about it again at noon, and let it be the last thing we think about before sleep, because surely we will offer up a prayer to the Almighty that our leaders will repel this disgusting organization.
To make serious commitments to restructure the global financial architecture based on principles of equity, transparency, accountability and democracy, and to balance, with the participation of civil society organizations, the monetary means to favour human endeavour and ecology, such as an alternative time-based currency.
Restructuring the global financial architecture? Alternative time-based currency?
Sustainable funds could be raised through a currency transfer tax,...which could also help to reduce currency speculation, and a tax on the rental value of land and natural resources.
Here's the tax on currency transfers and land. When has the MSM reported this. When has Barack Obama spoken of this?
Stop imposing economic sanctions, which deprive people of their basic economic, social and environmental rights and which make their struggle for survival, as well as for civil and political rights, more difficult.
We can make the case that sanctions are worthless, as it is the U.N. which strengthens them. Iraq and Saddam Hussein comes immediately to mind, especially the Oil-for-Food Program. Then and now, there's Iran. How does the U.N., always wanting diplomatic solutions to prevail, propose that we deal with tyranny ?
To fully incorporate women into leadership at every level and gender perspectives into all its operations; to hold Governments accountable for their obligations to promote and protect the human rights of women and girls; and to act as monitors of the implementation of commitments to end discrimination and violence against women and girls.
When it comes to Women's Rights, (or human rights for that matter) the worst offenders are Muslim countries. It's all is a matter of "degree," isn't it? I notice at the Millennium Development Goal monitoring sites, some Arab countries have shown some degree of improvement. What does that mean? How has it changed the life of women under the control of Islam and their Islamic male dominaters? The free world will finance achieving this goal? Think again.
To establish a global habitat conservation fund to purchase comprehensive protection of threatened, critical ecological habitat worldwide. The fund should accrue revenues from a nominal (0.5 -1.0 per cent) royalty on worldwide fossil energy production oil, natural gas, coal, collecting at least $5 billion to $10 billion annually.
Here's the tax on fossil fuels that is continually denied.

End of text from Millennium Forum.

A tax on fossil fuels, land, currencies, etc.? Investor's Business Daily didn't make it up, Lee Cary at American Thinker didn't make it up. You can "monitor" the Millennium goals by country beginning here, although you won't learn much. Most of what we want and need to know falls into the "Insufficient Information" category. I reject the U.N. and everything it stands for, because everything it stands for is against the best interests of Americans and freedom anywhere, and usually is intent on feathering the nests of a U.N. diplomat and a cozy relationship with the worst of the terrorizing scums on the face of the earth.

The usual RHINO's support this traitorous Bill: Susan Collins, Chuck Hagel, Richard Lugar, and Olympia Snowe. Gordon Smith (R-OR) is also a co-sponsor and I do not have much information on him. He's from Oregon, so...

Rape in War: Will the United Nations Walk Its Talk?

The U.N. Security Council has now "resolved," through a "Resolution" to do something about rape in time of war.

One "action" the U.N. has woven into their "Resolution" is to "sanction" the offender. I'm certain all those victims of "gender" abuse feel better now, and those knowing they'll likely be a future victim, now know that their abuses will not go unnoticed.

If "Resolutions" had any merit within the U.N.-body
, we would not be in Iraq, Saddam Hussein could not have stolen the food away from his own people under the august "Oil for Food" program, and Iran would not be on the nuclear track. Resolutions mean nothing to the U.N.

Peacekeepers Raping Children...Again tells just one story of "piece-keeping" by the U.N. PeaceKeepers at Cheat-Seeking Missiles.

The U.N. Security Council is ripe with Islamic country-members and is dominated by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). How inconvenient it will be for them to take action against rape of an infidel, or one of their own, for that matter. I won't happen.

Lest we all forget that "rape" is "terrorism," click here for a reminder of the U.N.'s take on terrorism.

Here's the story from Human Rights Watch on those scary Resolutions. Ms. Mollman says it well.

On June 19, 2008, the United Nations Security Council made history by declaring that rape in war is such a bad idea they plan to do something about it.

That's right. After decades of reports on vicious sexual violence in conflicts across the globe, the highest decision-making body of the United Nations has decided that it is time to act. In fact, no other international actor has as much power to do something about rape in war, and as disappointing a record, as the United Nations Security Council.

It is not that the Security Council hasn't talked about the issue before. In 2000, the Security Council -- under intense pressure from women's groups and UN field personnel -- established a link between the Council's mandate and the way in which women and girls are affected differently by conflict than men and boys. This link is contained in a resolution, known mostly by its number (1325/2000), which includes an urgent call to end impunity for sexual violence and for the United Nations system to gather information on issues related to women and girls in conflict and report these to the Security Council.

Action to back up these good intentions has, however, been scarce. Every year in October since 2000, the Council has celebrated the anniversary of resolution 1325 by announcing the importance of the gender perspective in its work, and then proceeded to largely ignore it for the rest of the year.

Up until last Thursday, that is. On Thursday, the Security Council declared its readiness to act on sexual violence in a resolution that contains three key components:

  1. The resolution establishes sexual violence in conflict and post-conflict as a topic within the purview of the Council's work. "Obviously!" you might say, and you'd be right. There is no conflict in recent history where women and girls have not been targeted for sexual violence, whether as a form of torture, as a method to humiliate the enemy, or with a view to spreading terror and despair. If that's not potentially relevant to the protection of international peace and security, what is? But the inclusion of this clause is essential because some members of the Security Council, in particular Russia and China, at times have portrayed rape in war as an issue that doesn't deserve the Council's attention. With the new resolution, they will no longer be able to do so.
  2. The resolution creates a clear mandate for the Security Council to intervene, including through sanctions, where the levels or form of sexual violence merit it.

The UN Security Council Takes Action Against Terrorism

On September 12, 2001 the United Nation's Security Council got serious about terrorism. As word of the U.N.'s lightening quick action through adoption of Resolution 1368 which

Determined to combat by all means threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts,...
the world breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that the full might and power of the United Nations was now on the trail of terrorism.

This riveting Resolution detailed the 9/11 tragedies:
Unequivocally condemns in the strongest terms the horrifying terrorist attacks which took place on 11 September 2001 in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania and regards such acts, like any act of international terrorism, as a threat to international peace and security;
as well as resolved that
"those responsible for aiding, supporting or harbouring the perpetrators, organizers and sponsors of these acts will be held accountable;..."
The Resolution ended with this powerful statement expressing the Security Council's acknowledgment of the urgency with which they would continue the pursuit of terrorists: [in their words]:
6. Decides to remain seized of the matter.
Just knowing that the Security Council was remaining "seized" on the matter of terrorism brought even more comfort and aid, especially to the people of America who were so recently the target of radical Islam.

A few days after the 9/12/2001 Res. 1368, on September 28, 2001, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 1373, which reaffirmed the earlier Resolution and also stated that the Security Council was
Deeply concerned by the increase, in various regions of the world, of acts of terrorism motivated by intolerance or extremism.
On this day, a Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) was formed and was tasked with overseeing and implementing Res. 1373. According to the UN:
The 15-member Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) was established at the same time to monitor implementation of the resolution. While the ultimate aim of the Committee is to increase the ability of States to fight terrorism, it is not a sanctions body nor does it maintain a list of terrorist organizations or individuals.
On March 20, 2008, a culmination of all the years of the difficult and taxing work of the Security Council has resulted in a very clear statement to those seeking to do harm to others through acts of terrorism.

The Iranian delegate, an august member of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) said it best:
"...a distinction ought to be made between the heinous acts of terror...on the one hand, and the internationally recognized and legally legitimate struggle of peoples deprived of their fundamental right of self determination, on the other."
What this means to you and to me, is that to this day, the U.N. Security Council has refused to "define" terrorism, and as a result has never "named" a terrorist , or a terrorist act.

Eye on the U.N. reports:
...the Chairman of the Working Group on terrorism from October 26, 2007 gives no hope that the OIC's [Organization of the Islamic Conference] stonewalling of a comprehensive convention against terrorism will come to an end anytime soon. The only thing that years of informal consultations have yielded is that everyone agrees on the need for further consultations.
A question might be: What goes on in an actual United Nations Security Council Meeting?
One example is seen at Eye on the UN's dedicated page to a list of documents distributed to members of the Council, by the UN's Palestinian representative.

Here is an example, and keep in mind that I have shown 4 here, but there are an additional 37 documents Glorifying Terrorism Via the UN - Suicide Killers as Martyrs:
3/4/2008
Glorifying terrorism via the UN. New UN document, distributed by the UN's Palestinian representative, once again refers to terrorists as "martyrs." Latest list of "martyrs" includes Ayman Abu Fayed, a senior member of the al-Quds Brigades (the Islamic Jihad's military wing). Other "martyrs" listed include Hamza Khalil al-Hayya - who commanded a rocket-launching squad in northern Gaza - and at least five other Hamas militants, and 2 members of the terrorist group Popular Resistance Committees.

While I have employed scarcasm here to make a point, the point is:

Since September 28, 2001 the CTC has never named a single terrorist, terrorist organization or state sponsor of terrorism.

Again, from Eye on the UN:
The five state sponsors of terrorism, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria write reports to the CTC about their compliance with Security Council Resolution 1373. In the absence of any UN definition of terrorism, all of these states readily proclaim they are engaged in a vigorous campaign to combat terrorism.
Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, 2005, laid out the five D's - his five point UN strategy to combat terrorism:
• Dissuading the disaffected from choosing terrorist tactics;
• Denying terrorists the means to carry out attacks;
• Deterring state support of terrorism;
• Developing state preventive capacity; and
• Defending human rights in the struggle against the scourge of terror.
Additionally, Annan said back in 2005
To implement these sweeping mandates, the Security Council created a special body, the Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC), with British ambassador Sir Jeremy Greenstock as its first chair. “Counterterrorism has now gone global,” said Greenstock, “with the UN at the center.”
In the March 20th, 2008 Security Council meeting, which created yet another Resolution, No. 1805, to RECALL the powerful and "sweeping" Res. 1373 and REORGANIZE the pitiful CTC.

This same Kofi Annan speech is listed on the UN's webpage as the "Fact Sheet: The UN's Contributions to Counterterrorism. You can see it all there, and be prepared to be reviled.
