Carrie Prejean Kyle Boller Pregnant

Carrie Prejean and husband Kyle Boller are expecting their first child in May 2011. Prejean, 23, and Boller, quarterback for the Oakland Raiders, were married in July 2010. Prejean hit the world stage in a bigger way than expected when Perez Hilton, a gay judge for the Miss USA 2009 pageant, scuttled Prejean's chances for winning the Miss USA title when he asked Prejean's pageant question, and didn't like the answer:  "Do you believe every U.S. State should legalize same-sex marriage?" Her answer:

Well I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one way or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And, you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that, I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there. But that’s how I was raised and I believe that it should be between a man and a woman.

What we learned from Carrie's time on the Miss USA stage is that contestants representing this country must not express opinions favoring traditional marriage or faith.

David Hartleys Mexican Homicide Investigator Beheaded: Rolando Armando Flores Head Delivered in Suitcase

Last week the news was all about Tiffany and David Hartley and their ill-fated venture on Lake Falcon, into Mexican waters on jet skis. David Hartley, 30, is believed to have died in Mexican waters of a gun shot to the head. Yesterday, Rolando Armando Flores Villegas, a Mexican Homicide Investigator left his home to search for David. He did not return. Today his head was found in a suitcase outside a military compound in Miguel Aleman, Mexico.

According to Mrs. Hartley, the couple were chased by Mexicans in boats, who were shooting at them. David Hartley was trying to shield his wife and was shot in the head. Mrs. Hartley tried to get him on her jet ski but could not and eventually made it back to the Texas shore, where a man who actually saw the boats chasing her, called 911.

The U.S. and the Hartley family was upset that Mexico maybe did not believe Mrs. Hartley, and it seemed a search was not happening at all. Some on both sides of the border hinted that Tiffany's story might not be true.

After a police video showed the Hartley's pulling their jet skis on the way to Falcon Lake, and with the man who called 911 speaking out, Mexico began to search. They also named two brothers, members of the "Zeta drug cartel, as suspects.

On Monday, Tamaulipas state officials continued to deny U.S. and Mexican news reports over the weekend that a Tamaulipas official — one of Flores' subordinates — had identified two brothers as the men responsible for Hartley’s death.

The Associated Press reported that Tamaulipas State Police unit chief Juan Carlos Ballesteros said investigators believe brothers Juan Pedro and Jose Manuel Saldivar Farias may have killed Hartley as he snapped photos of a partiall submerged church from his personal watercraft at Old Guerrero.

Today came the news that Rolando Armando Flores Villegas, the head of border city of Ciudad Miguel Aleman, with the title of State Police Commandant, lost his life and his head. A spokesman in the area's Attorney General's office said the murder of Villegas "had nothing to do with the Hartley probe."

Mexican authorities want Tiffany Hartley to file a complaint in the Mexican city of Miguel Aleman. I have to believe entering a border town in Mexico is the last thing she wants to do. If the State Police Commandant is not safe, why would Mrs. Hartley believe the could protect her?

Mark Turner the Short, Sad and Important Story

Nothing about Mark Turner's legal story is short, but all of it is sad and important. After writing reams about Mark, I want to make it short and unencumbered for anyone interested, and short for all who are uninterested in the tedium of how an innocent man is sent to prison, because this could be you. It could be me. I believe Turner was wrongly convicted, and no, I'm not an attorney, but I do read well.

Mark Turner is a native of the Pensacola, Florida area. He owned a used car business for many years and was very successful.  Eventually he developed an Internet auto sales business that was even a greater success. Turner says he sold more cars on the Internet in 2003 than anyone else in the world, and has a letter from EBay confirming it.

Part of his business was selling used cars for a large Chevrolet dealership in Pensacola - and this venture was profitable for both of them and spanned a period of 20 years. The manager for the dealership was Mark's best friend - about a 16 year friendship.

As a point of interest, I first heard of Mark Turner while writing about the murders of Bud and Melanie Billings in Beulah, Florida in the summer of 2009. Bud Billings was also in the auto industry. Everyone knew everyone. Mark believes the man who committed the murders, Patrick Gonzalez, was hired to kill him several years earlier. Gonzalez came through Turner's garage and tried to enter the house. Turner chased him with a glass bottle. Gonzalez, assuming it was him, had left his car door open and the car running. He got away but Turner got a good look at him. When Mark filed the police report he did not know the assailant, but when Gonzalez' face appeared on television in connection to the Billings, Mark recognized him immediately. Mark's police report has been updated.

After September 11, 2001, business took a nose dive. The owner of the Chevrolet dealership expressed interest in buying Mark's Internet business.  A business proposal was written, Mark moved his computers and personnel next door to the Chevy store, at their request. Eventually it all moved onto the Chevrolet premises. No money changed hands. Apparently there was no plan to pay Turner.

Turner filed a $36 million suit in civil court. That case is still making its way through the courts.

The State Attorney's criminal case against Turner began in 2003.

In September 2004 Hurricane Ivan arrived and Mark and the Chevy dealer both lost their homes. Mark's home was collateral on his business dealings with the dealer. The civil suit was filed a few months prior to Ivan. Turner needed to buy another home, and to do so he needed to pay all of his outstanding debt to the dealer. His realtor's closing attorney was told by Moore that he was owed $205,000. Turner can document that he owed much less, but the tension was thick and the dealer was powerful, so the realtor cut the check for $205,000.

Mark's criminal trial revealed that the Chevy comptroller knew nothing about the $205,000 - it was never on the company books. The Chevy dealer's attorney knew about the check, however, and supplied a record of the payment to Turner's attorney. The $205,000 is important because the criminal Restitution Hearing put the amount owed at $83,000 but the $205,000 was never credited to Turner in any court proceeding.

In 2004, documents concerning Mark's civil suit against the Chevy dealer were in the Escambia County Sheriff's custody because the Florida State Attorney's office ask the Sheriff to investigate Turner. There is a video tape of a Sheriff deputy investigator telling Turner he [the investigator] has been tasked with investigating Turner and then preparing a case against him [Turner]. The investigator's words: "...the finger is pointed at you." In the criminal trial, the investigator from the Sheriff's office admits that the State Attorney General ordered the investigation of Mark.

Documents concerning Turner's civil case against the Chevy dealer were in the Sheriff's office. I can only surmise how they got there - perhaps at the Attorney General's request? The dealer's insurance attorney was given complete access to these records. In other words, documents concerning an unrelated civil suit were given to the Chevy dealer's attorney. Those documents actually left the premises - the chain of security of the Sheriff's office - in return for the attorney "indexing" the contents of the box(s).

Kevin Hausfeld was that insurance attorney.

Turner has Hausfeld's written offer to the Sheriff's office:

"Please contact me if you feel you need more information/evidence to prosecute Mark Turner for fraud, perjury, conspiracy, theft, embezzlement...etc."

By July 2006, Mark was arrested. It took 3 years for the Attorney General to find 'probable cause.' But there was no probable cause, unless it was Turner's refusal to drop his civil case against the Chevy dealer.

Mark was told his wife would be arrested unless he dropped the civil case. He refused. Nancy Turner was arrested and her bond was set at $250,000. The Turners, with Mark's business gone, had to pay $25,000 on the bond. Mark's bond was only $15,000. He paid $1,500 to get out of jail. By the way, neither Mark or Nancy were mirandized. As of August 26th, 2009 Turner had still never had his rights read to him. I believe that is still true today.

Nancy Turner had lived her entire life in the area. She is a professional and has never been in trouble with the law. Once she went in front of the Judge, the prosecutor said he did not plan on pursuing charges against her, but it cost her $25,000 to go home to her children.

In late July 2006 the suit was brought against Turner in criminal court. The charges were Racketeering, Money Laundering and Grand Theft. There were two counts of Grand Theft over $100,000. At the end of the criminal trial and in the Restitution Hearing, Turner owed the Chevrolet dealer $83,000. No matter how you do the math, $83,000 is less than $100,000.

So now there is a civil suit against the the Chevy dealer and a criminal suit against Mark Turner, but the  Chevy dealer was not a "victim" or named in anyway in the criminal suit against Turner.

Many, many charges were brought against Mark, each, it seems, with the object of getting him to drop his civil case against the Chevy dealer. Many of those charges were dropped as soon as the trial began.

Eventually there were two plea deals - both dependent on all charges being dropped against the Chevy dealer - but remember, the Chevy dealer was not a victim in the prosecutor's criminal trial - yet. Both plea deals included prison time. The last expired in March 2008. Mark refused both.

According to Turner, the Chevy dealer offered to forgo all monies owed to him by Turner, in exchange for dropping the civil suit. I'm unclear as to the documentation of this claim

The Chevy dealer filed no lawsuit against Turner at any time, up until, and including, through today.

Over time, the prosecutor made 20-25 amendments to the charges.

If you are wandering why a prosecutor might bring a criminal suit on behalf of a person not claiming damage in the suit, it might be because the Chevy dealer is very wealthy and a major philanthropist in town, and supplies some autos to law enforcement in the Pensacola area. It might be because the prosecutor is rumored to be known for filing inappropriate racketeering charges. It might be because the prosecutor owed the Chevy dealer 'something.' It might be because of friendship. It might be because the prosecutor had a personal vendetta.

Three years after the criminal case was filed, the prosecutor finally maintained that the Chevy dealer was the victim of theft by Mark Turner. Again, the dealer did not file suit against Turner, or file a report to Police or Sheriff's offices that Turner stole either cars or money - or anything.

The trial was clearly a mess. There was undoubted prosecutorial misconduct, as was shown in Mark's appeal. 

1) For owing $83,000, which in most businesses would be considered a line of credit, because that is how the Chevy dealer and Mark did business, Turner was sentenced to three concurrent prison terms of 12.5 years followed by 17.5 years of probation.

2) After Mark's July 2006 arrest, the State filed their first charges. Other charges followed, but Racketeering did not appear until November 2007.

3) The prosecutor told the jury the Chevy dealer sued Mark for the $205,000 but that is not true, and the dealer's own attorney testified to such. The dealer has never sued Turner for anything.

4) Mark was charged with Money Laundering. He closed out a bank account and placed the money in his civil attorney's trust account. As needed, Mark received money back to pay bills, etc. and eventually to open a bank account. That constituted a pattern of Racketeering and Money Laundering, according to the prosecutor. All movement of monies was well-documented, and in no way different from Turner's normal spending habits.

The civil attorney who kept the money in trust was not allowed to testify for Mark in the trial. In fact, he was threatened with a suit against himself.

5) The prosecutor brought up information about Mark that was not admitted into evidence and should have never been allowed to be introduced - which can be seen as a means to prejudice the jury - in the Appeals attorney's words:

"there is a considerable amount of uncharged misconduct," including the Prosecutor commenting in closing arguments on matters outside the record. Similar injustices happened over and over.

6) The verdict form included no instructions about how to decide upon two incidents of Racketeering, and the verdict form is incomplete. It did not specify what Turner was guilty of. Some instructions suggested if Mark was guilty of one charge, then he was guilty of all three.

The Restitution Hearing was held after the trial, and the Judge himself stated on court transcripts that the charges did not add up to what the prosecutor claimed, and that the sentencing would have to address in the Appeal.

Translated, Turner's sentencing was not appropriate for the verdict - he did not owe $100,000 or over. He owed $83,000 which would not have constituted the severe penalty he received.

But how odd is it that the Judge knowingly let a sentence roll by that did not fit the crime. And the Judge said he expected the Appeal Court to 'fix it.' The Appeal Court did not 'fix it."

But here is the terrible thing about this Judge and prosecutor. The Restitution Hearing was held after the trial, and by law all evidence of the Restitution Hearing was excluded from the Appeals process.

7) Turner's Appeals attorney made this astonishing statement in her rebuttal:

The other crimes evidence in this case was so pervasive it went beyond the point of being an incident and became a feature of the trial.

Mark learned that his Appeal was denied about the last week of August 2010. He did not tell his wife. He decided to commit suicide. At this time, he believed he had three weeks before appearing before the court for sentencing. The only explanation I have for suicide is from two videos Turner made after hearing about the denial. Both of the videos are in my left sidebar.

In the first he said he would kill himself within 30 days - but probably much less. There were two bottom lines: 1) to provide insurance money for his family, his parents and friends who had mortgaged their homes to help with his legal defense, and 2) he wanted his children to be able to say their father was deceased rather than serving a life sentence in prison.

The two videos were made on the same day. He said there would be more to come. Sometime not long after taping, he received word that there was a warrant out for his arrest and his bond had been revoked. This is not the way the court told him it would happen. He was not a flight risk. Had he been, he would have skipped after the conviction.

So on Wednesday August 25th, he left a voicemail for his wife telling her to go to a certain place where she would find another message. That message told her he was committing suicide, and that she must call authorities. He did not tell her where he was. He drove to a wooded area, took 80 Valiums, 40 Lortabs and tried to vent exhaust into the car. The police found him barely alive. He was sent to the E.R. where his clothes had to be cut from his body. He lived and his family is so grateful, and his church is faithfully praying for him and his family.

Mark left love letters to his wife and at least one other video in the intended-suicide car. Authorities confiscated them and a US Marshall indicated that she would not get them back. Her attorney is trying to retrieve those items for her.

If there is any press in the Pensacola area about the suicide attempt, or the denial of the Appeal Court, or the arrest warrant and revocation of Mark's bail, I can't find it. If there is a news blackout we have to ask if it is intended to protect the Chevy dealer and the high-profile prosecutor.

I am not an attorney. All I can say is I've read the documents from the court trial over and over, as well as the Appeal. I believe Mark Turner has been wrongly accused, wrongly prosecuted and wrongly convicted.

How does a man get three life sentences for an $83,000 debt? How does a man get a sentence like this, with no one but the State suing him? How can a person be convicted of Money Laundering when the money transfers were completely documented, and showed his usual business being conducted, with Mark receiving the money from his civil attorney's trust account and eventually a new bank account?

The Miracle Wedding

Holger at Holger Awakens tells us about his weekend when he attended "the miracle wedding." Read this touching story of the tragedy and triumph that brought two military heroes together.

This past weekend, I traveled to attend a wedding. Yeah, I can hear you now...."big deal, Holger!" Well, you see, this wasn't just an ordinary wedding, folks ... this was a "Miracle" wedding.

I sat in the overflow loft of a little country church in rural Oregon on Saturday and saw Christopher Frost and Catherine Neary exchange their vows, to promise to love each other forever and ever until death do them part. What most of you don't know, is that this member of the Airforce and this medically discharged member of the Army had to pass Death on their way to the altar.

Let me share this regarding the service of Tech. Sgt. Christopher Frost of the U.S. Air Force (from OurMilitaryHeroes):

On May 18, 2008, while conducting a counter-improvised explosive device mission in Iraq, Air Force Tech. Sgt. Christopher J. Frost was seriously wounded when the vehicle in which he was riding struck a large, buried IED.

The explosion severely injured three personnel and killed one, Frost said. I lost my right leg below the knee, sustained severe injuries to my left foot and ankle and broke the orbit of my right eye. Other than losing my right leg, the physical therapy I need for my left foot, and learning to use a prosthetic, I do not feel that my injury has changed me. I did not suffer a brain injury, nor do I suffer from any [post-traumatic stress disorder].

As Weapons Intelligence Flight team leader for Weapons Intelligence Team 1, Multi-National Division North Weapons Intelligence Section, in Joint Task Force Troy at Forward at Operating Base Brassfield-Mora, Iraq, from Dec. 9, 2007, to May 20, 2008, Frost is described as providing flawless support to the 101st Airborne Division's 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, and associated units.

When he first arrived in Iraq, Frost was directly responsible for the acquisition, distribution and maintenance of more than $2 million worth of technical exploitation and force protection equipment. His efforts resulted in the overwhelming success of more than 400 combat missions conducted in the most lethal area of Iraq's Salahuddin province.

Despite his injuries, Frost plans to remain in the Air Force for seven more years until retirement. He also plans on keeping his Air Force specialty code of 3E871, explosive ordnance disposal.

Now,  let me share something regarding the bride, Army Spec. Catherine Neary (from af.mil):

"This afternoon, being at Ground Zero, that's very emotional," said Army Spc. Catherine Neary. "It's something that I won't forget."

Specialist Neary was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the spring while serving at Camp Victory, Iraq.

And this is from Cat's blog regarding the moment she was diagnosed with the tumor while in medical unit in Baghdad:

That morning I finally see the surgeon and the first thing he tells me, "hun I'm not going to sugar coat this for you" and went on to tell me they had found a 4cm tumor on the head of my pancreas. I was going to be medivaced to Walter Reed in Washington DC and have a very hard surgery to remove it. IF I was lucky and they had found this in time, hopefully chemo would save me and I could recover from this.

I took this in, listening carefully...I was so glad to finally have a reason for being sick, that I wasn't just making it up or looking for attention. So when he asked if I had any questions, I asked just one. "Sir, will I get to come back to Iraq and be with my unit?"

Now, I have had the honor and pleasure of knowing Catherine Neary for a couple of years through a blogging network - I first met her when she was serving in Iraq and along with many of her other friends, we lived through the crisis of her diagnosis of a pancreatic tumor and her transport out of Camp Victory in Baghdad to Germany and then on to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Maryland where G_d answered our prayers and surgeons successfully removed her tumor.

This weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting her now husband, Christopher, and saw just what Catherine had seen in him when they met at Walter Reed - an honorable man, a good man and yes, a warrior.

So, as I stood in that little loft in that country church this weekend and I saw these two people who had been willing to dedicate their lives to America's service, well it was emotional - as I saw Chris, thisBronze Star recipient, walk to the back of the altar to light the unity candle with his prosthetic and Cat join him, knowing of her scar under the gorgeous wedding grown...well, I couldn't quell the emotion. How G_d has blessed this young couple - knowing each of them has so narrowly escaped death while in the service of their country, only to meet while healing at Walter Reed...well, man, it's what movies are made of!
This is my chance to tell the whole world how proud of you, I am Cat! And also my chance to tell Christopher again - thank you sir, for your service and sacrifice to this country.

May G_d bless them, and hold them and make their days together forever bright.

Hamas Mass Wedding 450 Girls Ages Six to Nine Video

Nothing like a mosque in Manhattan full of thousands of Arab men who think marrying girls of six to nine years of age is just fine. This video shows a Hamas mass wedding, a long line of grown men holding a little girl's hand - she all dressed in white - no clue of her abhorrent future. The creepy imam explains that Muslims use Muhammad's marriage to Aisha as the example to follow. Muhammad married Aisha when she was six and had sex with her when she was nine years old. Thousands of Arab men will gather in the Grand Zero mosque and "community center." If you think these despicable behaviors do not follow the mosque-dwellers to the U.S., you are naive. If you think these men aren't ecstatic at the thought of sleeping with a nine year old, because the Prophet did it, you are dishonest. It's what civil people call pedophilia.

Jean Stevens Lived with Corpses: Philly Woman Jean Stevens Exhumed Hubby Sis - Took Them Home

A Philadelphia woman, Jean Stevens, had the embalmed bodies of her twin sister and her husband dug-up. She took them home to live with her. See the video below.

Mrs. Stevens, 91, has cared for James, her husband of 60 years, dead now for more than a decade. She placed him on a couch in her garage.

Her twin sister died of cancer in October. Jean buried her twin in the twin's own backyard, then had her 'retrieved' and moved to her own house.

June Stevens was dug-up just a couple of days after burial. She has laid in a spare room and received  tender care from twin sister. Jean dressed her in her best housecoat, put her glasses back on and treated her loved one to her favorite perfume. Jean and June married twin brothers.

Someone tipped off police. The bodies were taken from her, and are now at the Coroner's office. An investigation is underway. From the Washington Post:

She knows what people must think of her. But she had her reasons and they are complicated, a bit sad, and in their peculiar way, sweet.

Dressed smartly in a light blue shirt and khaki skirt, silver hoops in her ears, her white hair swept back and her brown eyes clear and sharp, she offers a visitor a slice of pie, then casts a knowing look when it's declined. "You're afraid I'll poison you," she says.

 Mrs. Stevens said she hates "death" and couldn't bear to be separated from her loved ones. Another complication: both sisters are/were "severely claustrophobic." Spending an eternity in a closed coffin was too terrible to think about.

Some neighbors think it's scary. Another says Stevens is no weird-o. The names of the "diggers" have not been revealed.

E.D. Hill, formerly the gal-pal on Fox and Friends with Doocy and Kilmeade, sat in on the petty-fest. She thinks Sir Elton may have agreed to perform for "money." Whoopi said Elton is married to a man in London, but they are not "married," and for whatever reason, Sir Elton doesn't believe same sex-marriage should be legalized.

Egypt Strips Citizenship from Men Married to Jews: A Touch of Hitler's Hand

Egypt and Israel have had a tentative peace for thirty years. It has mostly worked. Now as the world, including the U.S. moves to isolate Israel, Egypt is emboldened and joins the fray in a very big way. Egyptian men married to Jews of Jewish descent will be stripped of their citizenship. I feel a distinct touch of Hitler's hand, here.

Some 30,000 Egyptian men are married to Jewish women. About 10 percent of the 30,000 are Arab Jews, who are not included in this latest legal dictum. Egyptian men married to Israeli women will lose their Egyptian citizenship. Their children will not be allowed to serve in the Egyptian military.  Does anyone think the discrimination will stop here?

Now that the U.S. has signed the United Nation's Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and singled out Israel to rid their nuclear arsenal, Barack Obama signaled Islamic nations that he is, indeed, on their side. Obama has paved the way for the elimination of Israel.

The language of the NPT calls on Israel to sign the Treaty. It does not call for other nuclear nations, India, Pakistan, and North Korea to de-nuke, or to sign.

Take a look at the map above. Israel's borders are a nightmare to defend. The enemy is everywhere. With Gaza and with the Golan Heights, defense becomes easier for Israelis.

Today, Egypt is embolden, and this move to wipe out the citizenship married to Jewish women is a terrible tolling bell. Without the support of the U.S. for Israel, the entire Middle East will be feeling their Wheaties pita and hummus.

In May 1948, eleven minutes after the Unites States recognized the State of Israel, neighboring nations, including Egypt, invaded the new sovereign nation. By July 1949, Egypt had taken control of Gaza from the "proposed Palestinian state." By Fall 1949, Jordan controlled Gaza.

In 1956, Israel has Gaza again, but again gives it up.

In Spring 1967, some 500,000 troops, including Egypt, surrounded the tiny piece of land know as Israel. Israel's water was cut off. In May, Egypt set up a sea blockade of Israeli ships.

Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia formed a "defense pact." Egyptian President Nasser said "Our basic objective will be the destruction if Israel.

In June 1967, Israel found it necessary to defend their homeland from its neighboring armies of 500,000. 

After a three days of fierce fighting, especially in and around Jerusalem, Israeli forces defeated the Jordanians and gained control of all of Jerusalem as well as the West Bank, the historical heartland of the Jewish people known to Israelis as Judea and Samaria. Following an air attack by the Syrians on the first day of the war, Israel dealt a shattering blow to the Syrian air force. ...on fifth day of the war, the Israelis mustered enough forces to remove the Syrian threat from the Golan Heights. This difficult operation was completed the following day, bringing the active phase of the war to a close.

In return for peace with Egypt, Israel returned the Sinai, but once again has control of Gaza (which The League of Nations mandated). Israel stayed in Gaza this time.

In October 1973 Israel's neighbors again surrounded the Jewish nation. Israel retook the Golan Heights. By the time the useless U.N. ceasefire was put in place, Israel had surrounded the Egyptian Third Army.

By 1979 Egypt and Israel sign another peace treaty, known to most Americans as The Camp David accords.

In 1993, Israel once again gave up the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. In 2005 the withdrawal was "official." 

Today, with a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt still in place, Egypt has decided to revoke the citizenship of Egyptian men because they are married to an abhorrent Jew. The report says nothing about Egyptian women married to Israeli men. Perhaps the women were officially exiled at the time of the marriage. After all, they are only Muslim women. We will do well to think about the avenues used by the Nazi's to cull out the Jews. Here we go again. Will we ignore it again?

Rush Limbaugh Elton John: Limbaugh, Rogers Marry Tonight 6-5-10 in Florida: Elton John Sings at Limbaugh Wedding?

Fox News just announced that Rush Limbaugh will marry Kathryn Rogers tonight in Florida. They report rumors that Elton John will perform. More details as available. Here's the latest scoop: Elton John did perform. Wedding guests included Karl Rove, Fred Thompson, Sean Hannity, Rudy Giuliani, Mary Matalin and her husband, James Carville, baseball's George Brett, the New England Patriots owner, Bob Kraft, and golfer Tom Watson.

The ceremony will be at The Breakers and Elton John is reportedly receiving $1 million to perform. Maybe Elton John story is not true...maybe just a horrible hoax. About 400 guests will share the evening with Rush and Kathryn.

Rush is 59 and Kathryn, 33. Ms. Rogers is a direct descendant of Founder and U.S. President, John Adams.

Update 6-5-10 7:00 p.m. EDT:
The Post Chronicle said the wedding has occurred, at Rush's home, with the wedding reception at The Breakers. The Palm Beach Post confirms that Elton John will play at the reception, and will be paid $1M.  It's not my wedding, but the Sir Elton John Factor is so disappointing.

The New York Daily News confirms the Elton John appearance at the Hawaiian-themed wedding reception. The rehearsal dinner was also at The Breakers in the Ponce de Leon ballroom. on Friday night.

Sarah Shourd Shane Bauer Engaged: Sarah Shourd Ashamed of America

If American hikers Sarah Shourd was my daughter, or if Shane Bauer was my son, and was stashed away in the terrifying Evin prison in Tehran by the Iranian government, I would advise them to announce their engagement, since they have been lovers for some time now...long  before being arrested for breaching the Iranian border from Iraq. Being held in an Iranian prison is no longer news, but a love story is. Everyone loves a love story, maybe even Mahmoud Achmadinejad. Update: 9-15-10: Sarah was released from Iran yesterday, September 14th and reunited with her mother, Nora Shourd, in Oman, Jordan. She will receive a medical checkup in Oman.

Both Shourd and Bauer have lived together in Damascus, Syria. Shourd and a male friend, perhaps Shane Bauer...or not, visited Yemen and while there, Sarah Shourd told an Iraqi family she is ashamed everyday of what "my country [United States], has done to [Iraq]."

She has obvious sympathies for Palestinians and their treatment by Israel. Ms Shourd visited Yemen and in 2009 and won third place in a writing contest about the country and people. She wanted to the trip to be "memorable:" 

Of course there were the security concerns, westerners being kidnapped and sometimes even killed, but I decided that it was more likely I would get hit by a car while riding my bicycle at home, and bought my plane ticket.

While in Sana'a, Shourd noticed that the "love of God keeps people in line."

The separation of the sexes is widely understood as an attempt to protect women, and I have to admit, the streets do feel safe. Men leave you alone as long as you are covered; in a bizarre way it is less of a hassle being a woman here than anywhere I've ever been.

While in Yemen, Ms. Shourd visited Aden. She speaks of a male friend with her who is reading "The Shia Revival." Sarah and her friend are invited to dinner at the home of an Iraqi family who fled the country. Shourd apologizes to the family for what the United States has done to the country.

Shourd says she took risks in Yemen, as does everyone in "this brazen, tumultuous corner of our world."

In Damascus, Shourd teaches English in the Iraqi Student Project. She is reportedly learning the Arabic language. Sarah is a writer. A bio on one of her articles says she is a "teacher-activist-writer from California currently based in the Middle East."

The mothers of Shourd and Bauer, along with Laura Fattal, the mother of Josh Fattal who is held in Iran with his friends, were granted a visa to visit to their children. Of course, they hoped to bring the three back home with them, but predictably, that didn't happen. Instead, they brought back the news that Sarah and Shane will marry as soon as their freedom is granted. Josh will be the best man.

The best way to get these three home is to talk of the love story. I hope it works. I hope these three return safely to the US and their families soon. When that happens, I hope they pay their respects to the many, many Americans who have prayed for them, and worried about them by re-examining the meaning of freedom, democracy and decency. This unmarried western woman who lived with her boyfriend in an Arab country, must know that she is despised there; and outside of the American program she works for, she has no respect. Islam frowns on western women, let alone unmarried western women living in their midst with any man. Her shame for her country will gain her no favor in the eyes of Iranians. At the tender age of 31, Ms. Shourd and her friends are learning the difficult lesson that no matter where their sympathies lie, they are blessed to be citizens of the greatest and most benevolent country ever on the face of the earth, but...they are still infidels.

Clarence Thomas Wife Virginia Thomas Launches Tea Party Linked NonProfit?

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas' wife, Virginia Thomas, launched Liberty Central Inc. in January, which is referred to by the LATimes as a "tea-party-linked" organization. I don't see her specifically connecting her nonprofit to the "Tea Party"movement in the LATimes piece. Mrs. Thomas, known as "Ginni," says her organization is a nonprofit lobbying group formed to organize activism around a set of conservative "core principles."

Listen to this from Ginni, who certainly has some spunk. In an phone interview with the LATimes, she was asked if she had "discussed the effects" of Liberty Central on her husbands "perceptions of ...impartiality."

"I don't involve myself in litigation. Are you asking that because there's a different standard for conservatives? Did you ask Ed Rendell that question?" she said, referring to the Democratic governor of Pennsylvania, who is married to a federal appellate court judge.

Ginni says "she adores all the new citizen patriots who are rising up across this country." She and Justice Thomas will be excoriated by the Left for this new venture, but  there is little doubt that she has looked at every possible objection and found nothing illegal or inappropriate.

The Liberty Central website shows it's plan to Educate, Motivate and Activate. First on their list is understanding core founding principles and their foundations. The organization will issue score cards for members of congress, and plans to be involved in the November election:

 She said it would accept donations from various sources, -- including corporations -- as allowed under campaign finance rules recently loosened by the Supreme Court."

Virginia Thomas has worked for the Heritage Foundation and former Rep. Dick Armey (R-TX).

Simon Cowell is Mezhgan Hussainy Fiance: Simon Cowell Engaged to Afghan-born Mezhgan Hussainy

American Idol's Simon Cowell is the fiance of Mezhgan Hussainy. Mezhgan is the chief make-up artist on Idol. She and Cowell met on the show several seasons ago, and have been dating about a year. A wedding date has not been announced.

Mezhgan, pronounced "mish-gone" has her own line of makeup. Her website says:

Hussainy was born in Afghanistan. From a quote on her website, it seems her family fled Afghanistan when she was 8 years old (she is not 36 - Simon is 50).

"Just keep running and don't stop."

Those were the words my mother shouted as we fled Afghanistan, when I was just 8 years old. I knew we were headed for a better life, but I had no idea what was in store. That journey changed my life forever and I carry my mother's words with me through my life and into career, to this day.

Herbert Fisher, Zelmyra Fisher Worlds Longest Married Couple Tweeting Away: Fishers Tweethearts Married 85 Years

Herbert Fisher and his wife of 85 years, Zelmyra will celebrate their 86th wedding anniversary in May 2010. They Tweet and Facebook. Can you believe that?

The Fishers married in 1924. Mr. Fisher is 104 years old and Mrs. Fisher is 102. They tweet at longestmarried, where the last tweet says "we are overwhelmed."

We are both Christians and belive in God. Marriage is a commitment to the Lord. We pray with and for each other every day.

You'll have to find their Facebook Fan Page, because my link does not work. Word around is that they known as America's Tweethearts.

The couple, who enjoy hanging on their front porch, watching trains pass by, counting cars and talking to their neighbors, are apparently the model of wedded bliss. They each have their own bedroom — so Herbert can stay up late watching baseball. Well, I guess distance does makes the heart grow fonder.

Granddaughter, Iris Godette submitted information to the Guinness Book of Records. The Fishers are the longest living married couple and in one year they will surpass the longest living couple ever, the deceased Philipose and Sosamma Thomas of India. The Thomas' were married 86 years and 128 days:

However, when you ask Herbert about the Guinness recognition, he just says, "Oh, Yeah?" The recognition has not changed their life.

He still looks at her with love and concern, as she looks toward him as if he will give her strength and guidance.

The Fishers live on their own. They have 5 children, and the Fishers put them all through college. There are also 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Daughter Norma Godette said they were poor but didn't "do without a thing." She said if her Dad had two cents, he saved one. He worked at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company as a mechanic for 35 years.

Mr. Fisher is beginning to lose his hearing, and the Mrs. uses a walker to get around but their minds are still alert. Here's why they married on May 13, 1924

He was not mean; he was not a fighter," Zelmrya said. "He was quiet and kind. He was not much to look at but he was sweet."

Herbert said Zelmyra never gave him any trouble. "No, no trouble at all. We never argued, but we might have disagreed," he said.

Herbert and Zelmyra have attended different churches throughout their entire marriage. She attends a Baptist Church and he goes to the Methodist Episcopal, both in the city of James City. He is a huge baseball fan - the Atlanta Braves being his fav team. They share the title of "boss," and enjoy sitting on their front porch, counting the cars on the trains that pass by.

Mr. Fisher says he has "lived a nice holy life" and he will do "anything" for Zelmyra. Do stories get more wonderful than this one?

These are trying times and the President doesn't have a lot of spare time, so he sat down with Guthrie to talk about "A Woman's Nation," a new book by Maria Schriver. All-boy-basketball, Afghanistan and Fox News were also touched upon. See video below.

About women in our nation, Obama talked about the sacrifice Michelle made when their daughters were ill and she had to leave work to pick them up. She taught Barack that, really, he must take his turn making the sacrifice. Shopping for clothes? Why was it Michelle's burden and not his? He learned to be thoughtful enough, and introspective enough, that he didn't have to be told to step in and help.

About Afghanistan: Obama said he may have a strategy before the Afghanistan run-off election on November 7th, but he might not reveal that strategy before that date.

About the White House attacks on FOX News: This arrogant, arrogant president told Guthrie that since she is a part of the press, it was natural that she would ask about it, but the rest of us out here...we don't care...we are not interested. What he indicated, was that "they" are professionals, and "we" are not - and he was not going to talk about it, unless you consider saying "we are going to take media as it comes" as an answer. Our President says he is "not losing sleep over it." hmmmm. Right. He did not answer the question. Update: Just put up the video containing the FOX News quote.

Mrs. Conyers is a Detroit City Council member and she is in the news, again, because she is embroiled in a bribery scandal, alleging she took $6,000.00 illegally, involving the Synagro sludge hauling contract. The guilty plea of Rayford Jackson is believed to have put Monica Conyers in a very difficult place:

Rayford Jackson, 44, a flashy wheeler-dealer who frequented the city's political and social circles -- often with a stylish anchorwoman on his arm -- pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery. He worked to win the council's 2007 approval of a $1.2-billion solid-waste disposal contract for Houston-based Synagro Technologies.
His plea brings prosecutors a step closer to the officials who allegedly accepted bribes. Jackson's former boss, Synagro Vice President James Rosendall Jr., pleaded guilty to bribery charges earlier this year.
Jackson's plea agreement Monday said the courier who passed the bribes will cooperate with the investigation.
Sources confirmed for the Free Press that the courier is Jackson's brother, Lennie. Based on court documents and Free Press sources, prosecutors contend the money trail went from Rosendall to Rayford Jackson to Lennie Jackson to Conyers.

Here's some background on Monica and John Conyers, but if you want to skip to the videos, go right ahead because both are extraordinary, especially the second one. Monica Conyers is reported to be 44 years old. John Conyers is 80 years old. They've been married about 17 years. The Conyers have two sons, John III who is now a student at Geeorgia University and Carl who still lives at home in Detroit. Rep. Conyers campaigned for his wife's position on the Detroit City Council, asking the people of Detroit to "join the Conyers family as we fight to take back Detroit from those that put self interest above your interests." Monica received her law degree from the University of district of Columbia School of Law, a Masters in Public Administration from Central Michigan University and a B.A. in Secondary Education and Political Science. Mrs. Conyers is a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist church, Alpha kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; and the Order of Eastern Star. Conyers is famous for threatening people with guns, getting into a shouting match with the Council president — while in session — during which she called him “Shrek,” getting into another shouting match with another Council member during which she “made fun of his hearing, his lack of college degree and started rumors that he has cancer,”

In the first video below, Monica Conyers looks into the camera and says, "if you are not praying for me then you just adding to the problem" and then she admonishes anyone who speaks about her, her husband or her family with the sage advice to "speak the truth" if you are going to speak at all [paraphrased]. Don't miss the second video. As astonishing as the first video may be, watch the second little girl, an 8th grader, question Conyers about her behavior when she called the bald president of the Detroit City Council, "Shrek." I have a feeling we will be hearing from this young women some time in the future. Update 6-28-09: Monica Conyers plead guilty in a Detroit court on June 26th to "accepting cash bribes in exchange for supporting a sludge contract with a Houston company." No date for sentencing has been set.

Conyers, 44, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit bribery in connection with accepting two payments from a Synagro Technologies official in late 2007, including one in a McDonald's parking lot. Conyers is facing three to five years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines. She will be sentenced in 90 days.

Update 3-11-10:
Monica Conyers was sentenced to 37 months in jail yesterday. Now she wants to withdraw her guilty plea.

"What have my kids done to deserve this? My husband is an older man," she said

Before the hearing, Conyers moved around the courtroom like a playful host, blowing kisses to supporters while wearing dark sunglasses. Her husband, who has an office in the courthouse, was not in the courtroom.

California To Get Rid Of Marriage

by Findalis Why is it that I am not surprised at the tactics that Gays and Lesbians will go to force the idea of Gay marriage on the nation. On November 4, 2008 the voters of California passed Proposition 8 which states:

Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.

This passed 52.3% to 47.7%. Thus the voters of California spoke saying no to Gay marriage. This is not the end of the arguement. The supporters of Gay marriage are not going to take that lying down. They have a new tactic. Get rid of marriage. No I am not joking.

California's top election official says supporters can start collecting signatures for a proposed ballot measure to strike the word "marriage" from all state laws. Supporters of this ballot measure want to replace it with the term "domestic partnership," while keeping all the rights of marriage in place. Read the full story here.

Domestic Partnership is not the same as Marriage. In a partnership, one can just leave the partnership without legal recourse. In a Marriage it takes a divorce to dissolve it. One can have multiple partners in a Domestic Partnership. In a Marriage a person can have only one spouse at a time. Forcing all people in California to give up Marriage in favor of Domestic Partnership is wrong. But knowing the liberals, idiots, nincompoops in California they will now pass this idea overwhelmingly and sound the death knoll of the American Family. If this measure passes how long do you think it will be before it is brought to every state in the US? Marriage is not a right, it is a privilege. If it was a right the government would have to supply each and every person in the nation with a spouse. They don't. And a couple planning on marrying should not have to go and get a Domestic Partnership license but a Marriage license. Changing the name of Marriage to Domestic Partnership is just a bad idea.
