Feds Buy Commercial Real Estate at Alarming Pace: Obama Government Grows with Our Money

You won't believe what's going on in Washington, D.C. and surrounding areas. Here's a glimpse, and if it doesn't send a chill down your spine, you may be missing one:

Jefferson Memorial

If Obama tries to sell our government monuments, I hope we know about it before it happens.

If you are homeless in D.C., you get first pick, and the taxpayer return on investment (ROI) is flipped-off:
The GSA decided to sell the 46-year-old former NIH building at 7550 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda eight years ago. "We have a process we have to go through before we sell a building. We have to offer it to homeless housing, to local government," said Bob Peck, commissioner for the GSA's Public Buildings Service.
Your tax dollars at work:
The government also is overhauling many of its buildings, making them energy efficient. As a result, several agencies will need to lease space in the commercial market for five years or so during renovations.
There goes the neighborhood:
The Bethesda business district's high vacancy rate will probably push any new owner of the former NIH property to offer substantially reduced rents to draw tenants, experts said.
Here's what an economic crises can do for a Marxist regime:
Expansion of the government's role in the nation's financial markets, increased defense spending and the new health-care law are driving its demand for more space.

Emanuel Cleaver Sprayed Upon - Not Spit Upon Video Proof

Now we have video proof of the Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) claim that a member of a Tea Party protestor spit on him is not exactly accurate. As these jokers, or members of the Congressional Black Caucus prefer to be called, walked through the crowd, Cleaver said he was spit upon. The odd thing was, there was no arrest with a Capitol Hill policewoman walking with him, there were no charges brought by Cleaver because he couldn't i.d. the guy...and there was no "spitting," but seems there was some "spraying." See the video below.

At about 1:15 in the video, you can see a man with his hands cupped and Cleaver walking by. As the man yelled, it appears from Cleaver's body language, some saliva "sprayed."

We're all human. This could happen and it isn't pleasant when it happens to you, but hardly represents "spitting," which would be a conscious act.

Note that you also hear not a single "n" word being shouted, although Rep. Carson (D-IN) claims he heard it 15 times.

Black Caucus Lies About Tea Party Yells of "Ni**er? - Two Videos

A major online source reported Tea Partiers verbally assaulted the Congressional Black Caucus, in front of the Capitol, yelling ni**er, , and one Tea Partier is accused of spitting on Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO). Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) said he heard the "n" word 15 times. But a video seems to show just the opposite. If the "n" was used over and over on the Caucus-walk, you would surely see it in one of the videos below - one courtesy of Daily Kos, accusing "the man in the straw hat." - but it just isn't there. Will the Caucus claim both videos have been tampered with? CBC, CNN, NBC, MSNBC CBS all reported the assault, without video. This morning, still no retractions, still no claims of tampering. HuffPo, will you look into Black Caucus lies?

The Hill reported that the 'spitter' was arrested, but MSNBC, which does not mention the arrest, has an email from Capitol Police Sgt. Kimberly Schneider saying "We did not make any arrests today." Nevertheless, Democrats took to the House floor and "decried" the protesters. Similar delusion in the second video below where a Kos poster thinks a man in a straw hat is yelling "ni**er."

Congressional Black Caucus Lies?

There is zero evidence of the spitting or the racist epitaphs. I can find no videos of the assault. There is no video of Cleaver cleaning himself from the spit of a white racist. The magnanimous Cleaver said he would not press charges. Translated: he has no proof. Do we really think he would not make everything he could out of Tea Party spit? There were many cameras outside the capitol, but there seems to be no proof of the calls of ni**er. When was the last time we saw the Congressional Black Caucus not take advantage of perceived racism.

The Daily Kos is showing a similar video describing it as "Teabaggers attacking...." LaurenMonica at DailyKos linked to TPM's report and said she could not finish watching the clip because it makes her "sick and angry at the same time. Strange. TPM doesn't have a video in this post. So, assuming she is talking about the video below, which shows nothing significant, it doesn't take much to push her over the edge.

The same Kos article has an explanation of the yells of "ni**er:"
Listen closely. It's not the whole crowd but it is the guy in the straw hat. Notice how he cups his hands turns to shout directly at the black man walking in front of him.
After crowd shots "kill the bill" he adds "then the n***er." He does it twice, once at 12 seconds, again at 14 seconds. Then he stops because the man he's shouting at is out of earshot. Not that I think he heard himm in the first place.
But anyway, here we have video evidence of at least one teabagger shouting racial slurs.
What??? Friends, there nothing there that can be heard or seen for this poster to make that claim. Nevertheless, Michael Steele, chairman of the Republican National Committee, and an official of Tea Party Express condemned the "racial slurs."

Lies? Man in Straw Hat Yelling - Yes, But What? (video)

Washington DC Ritz Carleton Health Care Protest: Crimes Against Health Care Protest

Breaking: FOX is reporting a 1,000 person pro-health care protest outside the Washington, D.C. Ritz Carelton at about 1 PM EST. Inside the hotel, a meeting of American health insurance providers is underway. The protesters are accusing those in the meeting of "crimes against health care. The reporter I am listening to says the goal of the protesters is to arrest those attending the meeting inside the Ritz-Carleton. Updates as available. Update 2:00 PM EST: Megyn Kelly says the protest is breaking up and the only arrests made, were of protesters.

Apparently, Howard Dean, former DNC chair, whipped up the crowd of protestors as they began their mission at the Dupont Circle.

Megan Kelly reports many union signs outside the hotel, including SEIU. What happens when the luncheon attendees try to exit the Ritz-Carleton? We'll see.

FBI Grabs Muslim Mafia Documents: FBI Stops Document Return to CAIR

A court order served on Muslim Mafia co-author David Gaubatz to return documents obtained during an undercover operation inside the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), back to CAIR has been halted by the FBI, who served their own warrants for the same documents.

Muslim Mafia

Audio and video files, along with thousands of pages of documents will now be turned over to the FBI, rather than given back to CAIR. According to WorldNetDaily, via Creeping Sharia, the FBI is interested in the documentation as part of their investingation into CAIR and "its Hamas terrorist links, including those involing its founding chariman and acting executor director."

Co-author P. David Gaubatz and his son Chris were involved in a lengthy investigation with Chris going deep inside the organization as an unpaid volunteer. With the publishing of the book, Muslim Mafia, Washington, D.C. Judge Kollar-Kotelly issued a restraining order on the Gaubatz' use and distribution of the materials, and ordered all documents returned to CAIR.

Joseph Farah, CEO of WorldNetDaily, first broke the story and has been helping David and Chris Gaubatz raise funds for legal fees, says he welcomes the FBI investigation but says "we will have to confer with the attorneys to determine what happens next. Which takes precedence - a federal court order or an FBI warrant." Buy the book from WND.

American Police Force Armed in Montana? Mercenaries a National Civilian Security Force?

The stir over members of the America Police Force, now said to have renamed itself American Private Police Force, housing in a bed-and-breakfast in Hardin, Montana has gone quiet. Is the story over? Maybe the story is over in Hardin, but what about elsewhere? See video below.

Mercenaries - Blackwater in New Orleans

Questions remain:

(1) Was the APF armed as they strolled the streets of Hardin?  Notice I did not say "patrolled." At least one person, Michael Hilton, was staying at bed-and-breakfast in the town. As he went about his business, supposedly meeting with town leaders, was he armed?

(2) In light of Michael Hilton's criminal record, including a 6-year stint in a California prison, why is he allowed to be armed?

Gun laws in Montana are the most lenient in the whole country. No permits are required for residents owning guns or rifles.
Are members of the APF "residents" of Montana? Michael Hilton says he lives in Los Angeles, and the organization is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

How is it that they, a foreign operation, are able to circumvent any and all LAWS & Statutes regarding Automatic weapons and operations of this caliber with no oversight from State or Federal Authorities, when the local Sheriff's Dept. stated that all of this is entirely rumor ??????
About being a "foreign operation:" Unless a contract between APF and Hardin has signed, APF is foreign to Montana, at least. Michael Hilton is the head and founder of American Police Force, as far as we know, and he says he is a naturalized citizen, originally from Montenegro. So far, I have not found verification of his naturalized status.

Hilton wears a police-type or military-type uniform. He introduces himself as Captain Michael, but admits that the "Captain" moniker does not indicate a military background. The guy is criminal, many times over. I want to know if Hilton and the APF brought weapons into the town of Hardin, and if he did, what kind of weapons, and were those weapons legal?

It's a scary thing. APF is likely a wanna-be-mercenary group. Who hires these people (aside from Hardin)? The answer is frightening. In 2007, The Washington Post published The Private Arm of the Law.
With the sleeve patch on his black shirt, the 9mm gun on his hip and the blue light on his patrol car, he looked like an ordinary police officer as he stopped the car on a Friday night last month. Watt works, though, for a business called Capitol Special Police. It is one of dozens of private security companies given police powers by the state of North Carolina -- and part of a pattern across the United States in which public safety is shifting into private hands.

Private firms with outright police powers have been proliferating in some places -- and trying to expand their terrain. The "company police agencies," as businesses such as Capitol Special Police are called here, are lobbying the state legislature to broaden their jurisdiction...
That was 2007.

I understand that our city police forces are overwhelmed with foreign and domestic terrorism. If we are paying "special" police, why do we not just fund the "real" police? Maybe the WSJ has the answer.
Hiring private guards is less expensive than hiring new officers. Oakland -- facing a record $80 million budget shortfall -- spends about 65% of its budget for police and fire services, including about $250,000 annually, including benefits and salary, on each police officer.

In contrast, for about $200,000 a year the city can contract to hire four private guards to patrol the troubled East Oakland district where four on-duty police officers were killed in March. And the company, not the city, is responsible for insurance for the guards.
The irony: Oakland was forced to abandon plans to hire International Services, Inc. after find that the company's founder and two executives were charged with defrauding the State of California out of more than $9 million in worker's compensation.

Citizens are desperate to control their neighborhoods, as increasingly, city police and country sheriffs cannot even begin to tamp-down crime. But is turning to private police forces, who are often paid with taxpayer funds, but are responsible to no one, the answer?

In These New Times has more commentary.

American has been on the road to dual law enforcement for many years now, and we didn't even know it. What happens when one of the "dual" overpowers traditional authorities?

I'm not concerned about the portly gentlemen patrolling our malls - at least for now, or our gated communities - unless a less than reputable firm, like maybe American Police Force or International Services, but I am alarmed at the federal government handing over the control of our streets, airports, ports and prisons. Who regulates these forces?

Capitol Special Police patrolling a port

Fans of the CBS-terminated TV series JERICHO will recognize the name "Ravenwood." This was the ruthless mercenary force used by the illegitimate federal government at Cheyenne to subjugate the citizens of Kansas in the aftermath of a massive nuclear attack against two dozen American cities. As with much of JERICHO's superbly written story line, Ravenwood reflected real-world entities.

Private mercenary forces have been used extensively throughout the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, as well as in many other theaters. And as JERICHO correctly depicted, these "private contractors" have largely operated without oversight or accountability. (Can anyone say, "Blackwater"?) For the most part, the American people are unfamiliar with these mercenary forces, because they normally operate in foreign theaters of war. JERICHO put them on the streets of U.S. cities.

Now it looks like JERICHO was more prophecy than fiction.
Mr. Baldwin is referring to Hardin, Montana. We will never know the full story of Hardin, because town leaders are loathe to admit they were duped by a criminal con-man. The Hardin story will fade away, but then Baldwin reminds us:
Any kind of national police force is not only unconstitutional; it is anathema to everything American law and jurisprudence is built upon. Law enforcement is clearly and plainly the responsibility of the states and local communities.
Jim Kouri, Vice President of the National Association of Chiefs of Police, writes:
There are many police and law enforcement officials who are concerned with the growing trend of using military-experienced mercenaries to train and work with local police officers in the United States, but there are many who believe the events of September 11, 2001 dictate the need for this new paradigm.
For example, Kentucky’s Lexington Police Department contracted Blackwater Security International to provide what’s described as homeland security training.

Meanwhile that city’s Mayor Jim Newberry and its chief of police Anthony Beatty refused free training provided by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement federal program that prepares police officers to enforce immigration and border security as part of their duties.

Lexington is on the nation’s list of so-called Sanctuary Cities in which police officers are prohibited from working with ICE or Border Patrol agents in the United States....
So, is this the way it comes down? A city decides it will harbor illegals. They hire private mercenaries to keep that effort unincumbered...and what's next? A city hires private mercenaries or mercenary volunteers to guard polling stations...and encourage a specific vote? That's already happened. A city hires private mercenaries to search private homes for weapons? This almost happened in Washington D.C. The police chief spearheaded the idea, then when the news broke, she claimed she always intended to get a search warrant. Who knows who would have knocked on your door? A policeman or private mercenary?
Asked why the police department's press office confirmed that officers would be asking to search homes without warrants in exchange for amnesty from certain gun and drug charges, Chief Lanier said "I didn't have all the details."
Remember that Chief of Police Cathy L. Lanier insists that the U.S. Supreme Court has no say over the citizen's Second Amendment rights. SCOTUS ruled it illegal to "prevent law-abiding residents from possessing firearms for self-defense inside their homes." Lanier is fighting the ruling.

The Second Amendment says:
"the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
In September 2009, Decian McCullagh writing for CBSNews points out that if the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to "bear arms," it must mean something more than walking around your house with a .40 caliber Glock in a belt holster:"
In last year's Heller case, the justices' majority opinion noted that "at the time of the founding, as now, to 'bear' meant to 'carry,'" and that the phrase "'bear arms' was unambiguously used to refer to the carrying of weapons outside of an organized militia." Also: "We find that (the Second Amendment's clauses) guarantee the individual right to possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation.""
Nevertheless, Lanier has filed another legal brief, the defense of which will be paid by taxpayers, in an effort to disarm law abiding citizens. When homes are searched, whether under search warrant or not, will it be by "real" police, or the Capitol Special Police, who are in Washington, D.C. because:
The fact is that your local police and sheriff's departments are overwhelmed with calls for service, which decreases their ability to patrol your property and respond to all your needs with the attention and timeliness you desire.
I believe in armed police and sheriff. I believe in them using their weapons when appropriate. I know little about the Capitol Special Police. I am not targeting them or other such armed security.  It is possible, however, that Obama's plan for a National Civilian Security Force might be happening right under our noses, or at least the foundation for something similar. With no need to actually recruit and train a body to be further used in some unconstitutional way, how would "we the people" know about it?

Wanda Sykes Rush Limbaugh: No Regrets Wishing Limbaugh Dead

Wanda Sykes is talking about Rush Limbaugh again, and she has not changed her mind about wishing kidney failure for the all-time Number 1 Talk Radio Host, and she doesn't regret wishing Limbaugh dead. See video below. Update 8-23-09

Wanda Sykes
Sykes' lambasted Limbaugh at the 2009 White House Correspondents' Dinner, with President and Mrs. Obama sitting to her right, and grinning through it all. Limbaugh is to blame, of course. He started it, said Sykes. In Sykes' strange mind, Limbaugh saying he hopes Obama's policies fail is synonymous with wishing Obama dead. Intellectual dishonesty is the hallmark of the uber-Liberal. In an interview this week, Sykes, 41, said she certainly did not want to be mean spirited - or "just attack someone for the sake of doing it." You see, Sykes believes that Rush started the whole thing because he had the moxy to say he hoped Obama's socialism would not invade America. The interviewer, who NewsBusters' Tim Graham identifies as Randy Shulman of the the local gay magazine Metro Weekly, agreed that Sykes' sweet spirited attack on Rush was "earned." John Nolte writing at Big Hollywood is offended, however. As a gay woman, who married her partner in October 2008, Nolte calls her a gutless coward, not for her attack on Limbaugh, but for this:
Here you have a gay woman just a few feet from the Most Powerful Anti-Gay Marriage Man On The Planet and she lacked the sand to bring the issue up even once.
According to Sykes who says she does wonder "When is it our turn?," Obama "has a lot on his plate" right now. She thinks he will step up to the plate and...what? Dictate that America will make gay marriage not only legal but a right? Nolte explains it to Ms. Sykes:
Earth to Wanda: It’s not that President Obama has a lot on his plate right now — it’s that he opposes same-sex marriage. His plate could be as empty as the U.S. Treasury and it wouldn’t be “your turn.”
Nolte finishes his column with some fine commentary [snippets]:
I guess that like a Vietnam War protester acknowledging the Cambodian Holocaust, a declarative statement regarding Obama’s opposition to same-sex marriage is too psychologically confusing and painful. Also worthy of note is Sykes’ “barometer” which is so dishonest she refuses to concede that her comments regarding Limbaugh were “mean-spirited” or even a “personal attack.”...The concept is simple: Label something obviously wrong as right with such matter-of-fact, unblinking confidence people start to second guess themselves. Hopefully this tactic has been permanently exposed and dealt a considerable setback with the blowback towards Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) after their launching of unprecedented and unforgivable attacks on community organizers everyday citizens speaking out in townhall meetings…. Citizens, I might add, with the stones to do what Sykes won’t: Speak a little truth to power.
Sykes' partner, Alex, gave birth to twins - a son and daughter in April 2009, according to this site. Maybe you remember the crude joke she made about Sarah Palin and abstinence. Sykes vs Limbaugh vs Palin. Hmmmmm, who the heck waits around to hear what Wanda Sykes has to say. Not much of anyone. Update 8-23-09: Two comments left on this post deserve to in the post as food for thought: BobF made the point that for all of Sykes confidence that President Obama will do something about same-sex marriage when he has time to get around it " Carolyne says: BobF, that makes sense now about the gay marriage, didn't put that together, neither did the gays. Islam is screwed...go figure. They cut people's heads off, mutilate genetals, but don't believe in gay marriage? yet rape and marry children.

Tuesday's Victory and Freedom Blog List

Welcome to Wednesday's Open Trackback and Linkfest Haven Deluxe
.
For details, see the end of this article

There's much great content by Conservative bloggers, but so little time to read. I'm referencing, today, a few pieces that I feel are especially pertinent to our American freedoms and our victories. If you haven't gotten to them, I'm providing the link. If you have already read them, then I'll compile a nice little list for easy reference for myself.

1) The Signaleer profiles National Guard: Who are We? RTO Trainer takes on a syndicated editorialist who refers to some reports out of Iraq as "the daily slaughter," and then goes on to mention "the apparent lack of professional troops...". RTO Trainer slices through the column with honest dialogue and an obvious well of knowledge. This is an article to file under "meaty-Patriotism". Referring the National Guard, here is a small snippet of RTO Trainer's words:
"The policy has worked, precisely as billed and precisely as designed. So, despite the natural wish of the public to keep us safe, that desire is at odds not only with the job description, part-time or not, but also with the assigned task. Just as you would not prevent the police officer from responding to an armed disturbance or a firefighter from walking into a burning building, don't try to prevent us from completing our job. Far more importantly, don't give us a job to do and then repent at your leisure (it is not our leisure) as to its necessity".
I love this article, and am humbled by it.

2) The Amboy Times (whose moniker states: “articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy"), puts up The List of Things That Offend Muslims. This article links the reader to real examples throughout the world: offense at the English Flag (being flown in in England), The new Apple Store in Manhattan, it is offensive to Muslims - and you won't believe why, The Cross, The Bible, movies, and even food. This article is pertinent to Victory and Freedom because, as The Amboy Times says:
"The West needs to come to grips with this fact and start standing up for our God-given rights of free speech, free expression and freedom of religion, lest we surrender those rights to a theocratic movement bent on removing our Constitutional freedoms that we hold dear. In this case, our tolerance will lead to intolerance".
If I understand correctly, "this list is a work in progress". Check it out - you will be amazed, as well as appalled.

3) Wake up America reports on the plans of America's Veterans to be present at the "leftist activists" march on Washington, D.C. on March 17th. Wake up America leads into this information with this:
"I've said a time or two (or more) in the past that the veterans of our nations armed forces will not sit by silently and let our younger brothers and sisters currently bearing arms be the subject of ridicule and harrassment by a group of people who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground".
The high-profile names of the "leftist activists" tells you where this story is going:
"The group, led by Cindy Sheehan, Jane Fonda, Ramsey Clark and their ilk, plan to gather March 17 at the Vietnam Memorial Wall to begin a march to protest America's involvement in the Iraq war. The date marks the fourth anniversary of the war's beginning."
Then this quote from a veteran and member of The Gathering of Eagles who is Calling all Eagles.
"The anti-war/anti-America group cannot be allowed to use the Vietnam Memorial Wall as a back-drop to their anti-America venom and stain the hallowed ground that virtually cries out with blood at the thought of this proposed desecration ... it must not happen," said veteran Bud Gross. "… All Americans are invited to support our effort, which is intended as a defender of hallowed ground and intended as a non-violent competition between those that would sell out America and those of us who support freedom and keeping the fight with the enemy on distant shores."
There is much more information, including a list of contributors, both monetary and those who will lend their fame(Maxine Waters, for one) to the "Leftist activists" at Wake up America, including the latest updates on the Veteran's counter-protest. March 17 is just a month away.
