Jihad Jamie Paulin Ramirez is Married to Algerian Ali: Jihad Jamie Has a Muslim Stepfather

Jihad Jamie Paulin-Ramirez was lonely, her family said in the town of Leadville, Colorado. She got online, became friends with Najibullah Zazi, the confessed al-Qaeda member who pleaded guilty to trying to bomb New York City. Through Zazi, she found love (kinda-sorta) with an Algerian Islamic jihadist, who oddly remains unnamed, other than 'Ali.' Also, seldom mentioned (I found it only at FOXNews) is this: Paulin-Ramirez's mother, Christine Holcomb Mott, is married to George Mott, an Arabic-speaking Muslim convert. See update 4-2-10 below.

Paulin-Ramirez (31) made news when she was arrested in Ireland for being a part of an al-Qaeda plot to murder Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks who disrespected Mohammed (Allah). Jihad Jamie has been released from jail and her family does not know where she is. She was the second American woman to be arrested for terrorist activities, and is believed to have met her husband through Colleen LaRose, known as Jihad Jane, and been recruited by LaRose.

Jihad Jamie's 6-year-old son, Christian, has now been renamed Walid, and attends an Islamic school in Ireland. The Holcomb-Mott family says the boy hates Christians, is not allowed to play with anyone but Muslims, but gets "beat up" by them because he is different.  George Mott, the Muslim stepfather says in a phone call he could "hear a Jihadi recruitment tape playing in the background talking of death to Zionist and America."

Christian's biological father is a deported Mexican, Alejandro Carreon, who has no contact with the family.

Christine Holcomb-Mott said her daughter wore full Islamic robes and head scarves to her son's soccer games. "It was like a neon sign that said 'Look at me.' Mrs. Mott said her daughter met a Pakistan man and offered to help him come to the U.S. to take flying lessons.

Update 4-2-10:
Jihad Jamie Paulin-Ramirez was arrested today after arriving from Ireland on U.S. soil. She is charged with "conspiracy to provide material support to a terrorist group."

The new indictment charges that LaRose and Paulin-Ramirez, 31, separately traveled to Europe to support violent jihad, or Muslim holy war. The court papers also say that once LaRose was in Europe, she invited Paulin-Ramirez to join her to attend a "training camp."

Paulin-Ramirez, prosecutors charge, accepted the invitation and asked to bring her 6-year-old son with her. She and the boy traveled to Europe last September and on the day of her arrival, she married a co-conspirator whom she knew only from online discussions, authorities said.

Last August, the Paulin-Ramirez and LaRose allegedly had a computer conversation in which LaRose said "when our brothers defend our faith (and) their homes, they are terrorists ... fine, then I am a terrorist and proud to be this."

According to the indictment, Paulin-Ramirez replied, "that's right... if that's how they call it then so be it I am what I am."

UCLA Student Fee Hike Riots: UCLA Fee Hike Protest Video

The Board of Regents at UCLA will vote to hike undergraduate tuition fees by 32 percent over the next two years. It is estimated the 32 percent increase will cost each full-time student $2,500 over two years. Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of students and faculty, in my opinion.

Students and union members showed up by the hundreds, as university police barricaded the entrance to Covel Commons, where chants of "Who's university? Our university." Nightsticks and Tasers were used to force the crowd back. In the second day of protests, today, a sit-in ensued at Campbell Hall, which was closed for the day:

Inside, about 40 to 50 students had chained the doors shut shortly after midnight and were issuing e-mail statements.

I have no sympathy for these little university socialist liberals, who have such disdain for conservatism. I hope they get their tax sooner, rather than later, which will likely count among their first real "life experiences."

California is broke...it desperatly needs revenue. These ungrateful students and faculty should be honored to step in and do their part to fund a long-held bastion of far-left indoctrination. Conservatives have been doing just that for most of their working lives, whether they want to or not.

Tommy Le, a fourth-year student at UC Santa Cruz, who left his campus at 3 a.m. today in a convoy of two buses headed south. Le, 21, an American studies major from El Monte, said he was worried about how he being able to afford the higher charges, starting with an additional $585 for the rest of the school year.

Mr. Le, have you taken any interest in the unemployement rate today? Grown-ups are obsessed with it. Do you have any idea how many parents are trying to figure out a way to make their mortgage payment, now that the Democrat housing bubble has decimated the market? People have real-life problems, and most people have more than just themselves to worry about.

In the 2004 Spring issue of the UCLA Magazine, Ajay Singh wrote:

Conservatives, for their part, object that far too many members of the faculty are moral relativists who eschew notions of good and evil and don't believe that certain immutable truths in Western thought are worth preserving. Worse, liberal faculty teach students to view religious and patriotic values with suspicion.

That, in any case, is the central idea behind Brainwashed: How Universities Indoctrinate America's Youth, a book written by Ben Shapiro '04 and published earlier this year. Shapiro claims that while he was a student at UCLA in 2002, he was fired as a columnist for the Daily Bruin. The reason, according to Shapiro, was that he went on a local radio talk show and criticized UCLA's "pro-Muslim stance" — a reference to the Bruin's refusal to publish two of his columns against a Muslim-student organization on campus that Shapiro asserted supports terrorism.

A 2005 study printed in the Washington Post says 72 percent of those teaching at American universities and colleges are liberal and 15 percent are conservative.

The disparity is even more pronounced at the most elite schools, where, according to the study, 87 percent of faculty are liberal and 13 percent are conservative.

Rothman sees the findings as evidence of "possible discrimination" against conservatives in hiring and promotion. Even after factoring in levels of achievement, as measured by published work and organization memberships, "the most likely conclusion" is that "being conservative counts against you," he said. "It doesn't surprise me, because I've observed it happening." The study, however, describes this finding as "preliminary.

Conservative families go though emotional angst as they try to find a way to educate their children with some smattering of the conservative viewpoint, for balance. Shopping for the less expensive option of a state university leaves no avenue to diversity in thought, but lots of diversity in ethnicity. In fact, your white son or daughter will likely fall to the back of the admissions line, no matter their test scores. Those who "get" from the government will lap-up the liberal bias. The good university-educated liberal-ales will march into the world with no understanding of conservative issues, and they won't have a clue how far-left and dangerous they are to American's founding principles.

I'm for monumental tution increases at universities all over the country. It's the only fair thing to do. More Americans say they are conservative, than moderate or liberal, and both conservatives (40%) and moderates (37%) number almost twice those admitting they are liberal (20%). In the video below, you'll see a very noisy and animated protest. Really, it could not happen to a more deserving school unless it's UC Berkely.

Rick Bryan, OU Sooner All-American: Rick Bryan, Sooner Great Dies

Rick Bryan, OU Sooner and two-time Oklahoma University All American, died of a heart attack on Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Coweta, Oklahoma.

According to the family, Mr. Bryan, 47, suffered a heart attack at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday night. He was on medication for heart problems, believed to be congestive heart disease. His son Mike, said his father had not been feeling well. Coach Barry Switzer has the highest praise for Rick Bryan, saying he was one of the Sooner greats:

No one outworked him. I just wish he had played on a national championship team. He had it all.

According to OUInsider.com (linked above) Switzer said a Falcons defensive line coach said he "would take a truckload of Ricky Bryans and go play against anybody." More from Switzer:

Rick was a two time OU All American (1982 and 1983) defensive tackle. He played on the Big Eight All-Conference teams 1981 - 1983. Bryan was named Big Eight Defensive Player of the Year in 1982. He was known for his intellect, as well as his physical prowess and was a member of the Academic All Conference team in 1981, 1982 and 1983 for his accomplishments in the classroom at Oklahoma University. Bryan wore jersey No. 80. Bryan still holds the all-time record for most tackles by a Sooner lineman - 365, breaking the OU record of Leroy Selmon. His best career record in a single game was in 1983 with 19 tackles against Kansas State. Bryan went to the Atlanta Falcons as the 9th overall pick in the 1984 NFL Draft. He spent 9 years with the Falcons before leaving pro ball and going home to Coweta where he was a cattle rancher and farmed soybeans and wheat. He also spent some time as an assistant football coach at Coweta High School, where he once played lineback and tight end. Oklahoma University was well acquainted with the Bryans. In 1983, three Bryan brothers, Mitch, Rick and Steve were playing football for the school at the same time. Younger brother Steve made the All-Big Eight defensive team in 1986 as a lineman.

Bryan's brothers, Mitch and Steve, also played at OU. Tulsa World sports writer Bill Haisten once wrote that the Bryan brothers are to Coweta what the Selmon brothers are to Eufaula.

Mr. Bryan is survived by his wife Shelby, daughters Kristin and Jenni and son Mike who is a University of Tulsa linebacker. Mike said he spent much of Saturday with his Dad:

My dad was my hero and I base my lie on him. I try to be like him and live like him. He has made me who I am today.
