John Bolton: Time for Israel to Strike Iran

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton, says now is the time for Israel to strike Iran, and if they do not, nothing will stop the Mullah's nuclear facilities.

Israeli Air Force

Bolton (I think I would vote for him for U.S. President) sees no possibility of the Obama administration taking any meaningful action - translated: If Israel does not do it, who will?

This is an important story, and the hard work has been done for us. James at Reaganite Republican Resistance has the story, and has done major research on the subject. He lays out Israel's capabilities, Iran's capabilities, and the lack of them, and why the IDF's recent tepid responses will not be duplicated when dealing with the regime . He explains the issue of Israeli air space, which we hear will be forbidden to them, and tells us just how many targets Israel must hit for the strike to be effective.

Obama's War on America: Disarming, De-Teching, Deceiving

In July 2009, Obama stood before Moscow's New Economic School, and said this:

Obama's War on America
The future does not belong to those who gather armies on a field of battle or bury missiles in the ground.
He meant what he said, and today, he is ready to act on his opinion.

Pullout Quote from the NYT:
For the first time, The United States is explicitly committing not to use nuclear weapons against nonnuclear states that are in compliance with the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, even if they attacked the United States with biological or chemical weapons or launched a crippling cyberattack.
UPDATE 11:00 a.m. CDT: Secretary of Defense Robert Gates is on speaking from the Pentagon. He just said that we will not develop new nuclear warheads and...if any country attacks the U.S. with biological or chemical weapons, will face devastating "conventional" retaliation.

The U.S. Senate is still sitting on Senate Bill 2433, which Senator Obama wrote. It is called a Global Poverty Act, but it is really about the United Nations and their superiority in global control.  In U.N. doctrine, poverty is tightly bound to war. The U.N. can abolish poverty if they control the world's weapons, including small arms.

From the U.N. Millennium Development Goal:
...Poverty eradication is not an automatic consequence of economic growth; it requires purposeful action to redistribute wealth and land,...
1) The MDG says this can be done by initiating a worldwide freeze on armed forces - prohibitions of the use of force...move towards the abolition of war and...the UN Secretariat and interested Governments, or a separate group of Governments, should develop a draft proposal for global disarmament.

 2) Prohibiting advanced weapons technology...devise ways of stopping the technological development of new and more advanced weapons...

3) Monitor small arms.

Senate Bill 2433 is tied to the U.N.'s Millennium Development Goal (UNMDG), by Obama, by design because...it is not all about poverty. The President is planning to change how and when the U.S. can and will use nuclear arms.

This from the New York Times:
...Mr. Obama described his policy as part of a broader effort to edge the world toward making nuclear weapons obsolete, and to create incentives for countries to give up any nuclear ambitions. To set an example, the new strategy renounces the development of any new nuclear weapons, overruling the initial position of his own defense secretary...
Sitting in The People's Oval Office Obama said "old and new" conventional weapons will "make sure that the American people are safe and secure." Do you feel better now?

Pantex Nuclear Plant Locked Down in Amarillo Texas

Pantex Nuclear Plant is locked down in Amarillo, Texas. Employees are being "sheltered in place." Apparently this is a security threat. More as available. Update: The emergency was due to hunters, armed of course, seen in the fields near Pantex. The lockdown is over now.

Pantex Activates Emergency Response Organization
· The Pantex Plant has activated its Emergency Response Organization to respond to a potential security situation. The event occurred at approximately 8:00am.

· The Plant is in a lockdown status and the situation is being evaluated in order to facilitate security actions. Pantex employees are sheltered-in-place.

· Pantex’s response effort is being conducted by the Emergency Response Organization, a highly trained group of employees with detailed knowledge of plant operations and emergency response procedures. These employees represent plant functions such as security, logistics, safety, medical response, radiological assessment, firefighting, operations and public information.

· The emergency responders’ top priorities are the safety of the public, workers and the environment, as well as ensuring security is maintained.

· Pantex is also in the process of establishing communication links with various local, state and federal government agencies that will work with Pantex and communicate with the public during the response to this event.
Pantex is a government-owned, contractor-operated nuclear weapons assembly/disassembly facility. It also manufactures high explosive components.

The plant is located 17 miles NW of Amarillo.

Bunker Buster Funding: Massive Ordnance Penetrator - MOP Ready Within Months

Reports are citing the Pentagon's accelerated request to Congress for funding of the Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) Bunker Buster - a mega-bunker-buster. Apparently, the request has been approved. I would have bet money against that request with our current Congress.

According to this ABC report, the request was a part of a 93-page "reprogramming" request.
The comptroller said the Pentagon planned to spend $19.1 million to procure our of the bombs, $28.3 million to accelerate the "bomb's development and testing," and $21 million to accelerate the integration of the bomb onto B-2 stealth bombers.
The MOP can hit targets 200 feet below ground. It is 20 feet long, holds 5,300 pounds of explosives, and it has a special mission:
...defeat hard and deeply buried targets where our adversary would have the support structure for WMD-type systems.
Hard and deeply buried targets like North Korea's and Iran's Natanz centrifuge facility (about 130 miles south of Tehran) and wherever the newest known plant inside the country might be.

The DEBKAfile reported this story on September 8th saying that acceleration of 10-12 MOPs had been requested, which "trebeled" the original request:
Gen. Shackelford said: "These are purchases beyond just those needed to test their capability. In other words (the military is seeking to) build a small inventory of, I believe, 10-12 bombs."

B-2 Stealth Bomber

McDonnell Douglas was awarded a $51.9 million contract to modify the B-2 stealth bomber to carry the mammoth MOP. The Pentagon said at least one "bunker buster" would be ready within months.

Dubai Weapon Shipment Seizure: Emirates Stop NK Weapons to Iran

Good news. Dubai and the UAE stepped up and stopped a weapons shipment to Iran from North Korea. The UAE has "reported the seizure of the [North Korean] vessel to the UN." I wonder how long it will take before the UN orders the release and safe passage on to Tehran? If the Emirates can stop North Korean weapons shipments, then every shipment should be stopped. In fact, North Korean leaders should be quaking in their cognac that a "seized" shipment of banned goods will bring wrath down upon them - but that's not the way we keep people free from nuclear threats around the world. What a shame.

The Islamic Presence in Space - Video

Iran's launch of a Safir-2 rocket places an official "Islamic presence" into space. Estimates of a Safir-2 rocket's range are about 1500 miles - enough to reach Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Turkey...but...Iran has another, more powerful rocket - the Shahab-3, and today's launch is witness that Iran is on the path to using space for its own agenda. The hostile use of space is a growing threat, and now Iran has joined the fray. Germany is hosting the U.S., France, Russian, China and Britain this week. The purpose of the get-together: to find ways to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions. Iran's launch yesterday showed the bottoms of their soul-less shoes to the free world - just as the thwarting of U.N. resolutions have done. Do we think Iran has no interest in a nuclear-laden ICBMs with a bulls-eye set on America? Quoting President Obama (read the entire transcript and see the video here):

I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems. I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons. I will negotiate with Russian to take our ICBM's off air-trigger alert,...

Has Iran Gone Nuclear?

Cross posted from Monkey in the Middle Reports coming out from the Middle East suggest that last weekends 5.0 earthquake in Southern Iran was in reality a nuclear weapons test. If these reports are true, then the worst fears of the West and Israel have come to reality. Could a major attack on Israel or a Western city be only weeks away?

(IsraelNN.com) A weekend 5.0 Richter earthquake in Iran was actually a nuclear bomb test, says an Iranian nuclear scientist claiming to be working on the project. The report is an Israel Insider exclusive. This past Saturday night, southern Iran experienced what was reported as a significant earthquake - a seismic event measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was just north of the strategic Straits of Hormuz, which separates Iran from Abu Dhabi and Oman and which is the gateway to the Persian Gulf. The report quotes an Iranian nuclear scientist who claims to be working in uranium enrichment for the project, and who said that the "quake" was acutally an undergound nuclear bomb test. Israel Insider adds that the test/quake was actually the second in a series. Nine days ago, a 4.8 Richter scale event occurred, with its epicenter only five kilometers away from the weekend tremor. The Israel Insider source reports that two nuclear rockets are currently ready - and are intended for use against Israel in the coming months. If the report is correct, it would belie previous speculation that Iran would not begin nuclear testing until it had more nuclear-bomb production capability. The geographical location of the test has several advantages. It is exposed to significant seismic activity, which could serve to mask nuclear tests; it is believed to be close to Iran's nuclear development facility; delivery and transport of material and personnel can be effected easily through the Hormuz Strait; and Iranian enemies would hesitate to bomb the area because that would threaten the flow of a substantial percentage of the world's oil. Reuters reports Thursday morning that Iran has begun building a line of naval bases along its southern coast and up to the Straits of Hormuz. Full Story
If true, this will have changed the whole dynamic of the region. Iran could dictate to the Persian Gulf nations their terms of surrender to them. An attack by Iran of a nuclear nature on any nation will bring upon disaster not only for that nation, but for Iran. It would mean a like attack in response. Millions would die.
