Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) went to Niger, got caught in the middle of a military coup, and had to be rescued and flown out of the country by Xe Services, a military contractor, formerly known as Blackwater.

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) who made his substantial fortune by suing military contractors and later
lambasted them as a lawmaker, was indeed evacuated from Niger by
personnel working for Xe Services (the private security empire formally
known as Blackwater), his spokesman confirms.
Grayson was spending your money and mine, while he reportedly was traveld Niger as part of a science and technology congressional delegation:
He heard
gunshots in a building next door on the day military leaders stormed
the nation's presidential palace and suspended its constitution.
He was taken to the U.S. embassy and put under guard -- it's not
clear by whom -- and then flown to Brukina Faso, according to CNN.

apparent reference to Grayson: "Xe Services, through its subsidiary
Presidential Airways, provides aviation support and medevac services to
Defense Department personnel in Africa. Just last week, our personnel

Grayson, a razor-tongued trash talking attack dog sued an American security firm operating in Iraq, Custer Battles LLC ,for "false claims," and won the case. His fees for the case exceeded $4 million. At the time this case was settled in 2006, the Wall Street Journal described Grayson this way:

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab
If Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's actions on Christmas Day are an act of terror, and sponsored by al-Qaeda, as our President asserts, why is he not a prisoner of war? Senator Joe Lieberman is says the law of war applies, Abdulmutallab should be held in a "military brig," and should have been questioned by military and intelligence personnel now, and in the beginning. Rep. Peter King is calling for a military tribunal and says this man should now have the right to a civilian attorney.
By the way, this Muslim man with the very rich father asked for an attorney but said he could not pay for one. You and I will pay for his indefensible defense.
In October, Obama signed into law legislation that affirms a "sense of Congress" which asserts the preferred forum for the tril of "alien unprivileged enemy belligerants is a trial by military commission." What it is that distinguished Abdulmutallab outside the realm of an "alien unprivileged enemy belligerant?" There is, of course, nothing to distinguish him as otherwise.
If Abdulmutallab were an "alien unprivileged enemy belligerant" he would not be read his Miranda rights. Was he read his Miranda rights? Most certainly. This is the one distinguishing condition of the new legislation - no mirandizing.
Note that the first responsibility of a Military court is the protection of national security, but the first responsibility of a civil Federal court is to protect the rights of the defendant. John Brennan, Obama's top security adviser said yesterday that it is not a problem that Abdulmutallab has all the privileges of an American citizen in court, BECAUSE WE CAN OFFER HIM A PLEA BARGAIN, to get him to talk. Is this America? I ask you...is this America? From The Corner at National Review Online:
John Brennan, President Obama's top counterterrorism expert, justified
treating the underwear bomber as a criminal with all the rights of a
U.S. citizen, rather than an enemy combatant with no right to remain
silent or demand a lawyer or a civil trial, by arguing that the
government can offer him a plea bargain in exchange for his
cooperation.
In other words, just like we give deals to drug smugglers
or mobsters to give up information on bigger fish in their criminal
enterprises, we can do the same with Abdulmutallab.
Had Abdulmutallab been designated as an enemy combatant
from the start, we would not have had to offer him anything at all in
exchange for the information he possesses. He could have been
interrogated immediately by professionals without Miranda warnings,
without a lawyer, and against his will.
This sets the scene for Abdulmutallab to be set free in exchange for information. It could happen. To think otherwise is foolish.
Tell me, how many in Holder's Department of Justice are on the battlefield and waging a war against terrorism? The answer is zero. Only U.S. military fights wars against foreign combatants, and they should be the only avenue to meet these "belligerents" in court.
I've been reading some lesser known press. Some of these reports are interesting and I think worthy of printing. Are they facts? Don't know. We'll see. The following are snippets, and I cannot vouch for any of it.
1) Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's father, Alhaji Umar Mutallab may not be such a gentle and peaceful Muslim dad. Some believe that he was a very strict Muslim, and that his son was raised strictly. Some see American press erring in proclaiming the father's visit with the CIA as less a warning of harm to the U.S., and more an attempt to garner help in finding the son. Source: BlackStarNews (NY):
Again,
the fact that his father must have sewn the seed of Islamic
radicalization is not being articulated here: the father felt strongly
about Islam that he decided the banking system was not good enough, was
not practicing Islamic banking laws, that he pushed hard to found the
first Islamic bank in Nigeria.
...and the same source questions the family money:
Again,
we have to caution about hailing Alhaji Umar Mutallab as an hero, as
some in the American media are trying to do for seeking help from the
American embassy in finding his son and his expression of concern about
his son's radical Islamic turn.
What is being focused on is how
wealthy the family is, but the question of how he accumulated so much
money without evidence of how he made that money should give pause to
those who are trying to extol his virtues.
According to BlackStarNews:
1) Abdulmutallab completed his Yemen Islamic studies in September 2009 and
classmates "saw him off at the airport," but Abdulmutallab did not
leave Yemen.
It is speculated that Mr. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab left Yemen around the
13th of December, for Ethiopia. The Ethiopian government has not said
how long he stayed in Ethiopia. His next destination was Ghana.
It
was in Ghana that the KLM office there in Accra sold him a one-way
ticket for $2,831 in cash. This is where the whole thing starts to
muddy up. According to all accounts, Mr. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab not
only paid for his one-way ticket in cash, but refused to provide a
contact address.
Yesterday
we heard Obama's Deputy Security Adviser, John Brennan tell CNN's
Gloria Borger that paying cash for a ticket in Africa is the way it's
done - it's done all the time because of corruption, but KLM is not an
African company, and major airlines are not considered corrupt in their
actions. He was allowed to pay cash and refused to give contact
information.
2) BlackStarNews confirms that Abdulmutallab had a Nigerian passport when the checked in at KLM.
3) According to the Director General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Abdulmutallab originall purchased a one-way ticket to Detroit, via Amsterdam, with no contact address or telephone number at KLM in Accra. That ticket was canceled and re-issued as a round-trip ticket, returning to Lagos, Nigeria. The return trip was scheduled for January 8, 2010. His passport was scanned at check-in. His US visa was scanned, and the "passenger information system returned no objection." He was allotted seat number 20B on the Lagos - Amsterdam leg, and seat 19A on the Amsterdam - Detroit leg.
"The
passenger possessed a Nigerian machine readable passport issued Sept
15, 2005 to expire Sept 14, 2010 with passport number A3921640. His
multiple entry US visa was issued in London, UK, on June 16, 2008 to
expire June 2010."
"Thereafter, he passed through aviation security comprising of walk- through metal detector and baggage X-ray screening machine. He proceeded to the
boarding gate where he went through secondary screening as confirmed by
KLM officials. At the closure of the departure, passenger was confirmed
on board, his name was on the post manifest under the serial number 2."
AllAfrica.com says that the father's wife is of Yemen descent, but cannot confirm that the Yemen women is Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's mother.
Source WSJ: It is believed that Abdulmutallab spent 13 days in Accra, Ghana. He had numerous options for flying to the U.S. from Ghana, but instead flew back to Lagos.
...he boarded Virgin Nigeria flight 804 from Accra to Lagos on December
24, which departed at 5:06 p.m. "He filled the immigration forms on the
flight," he said. "I have all those on the form before me so I know he
was on the flight." He said the Ghanaian officials were trying to
discern why Mr. Abdulmutallab chose to return to Lagos rather than fly
to the U.S. from Ghana.
"We have numerous flights to Amsterdam from here," said Mr.
Okudzeto-Ablakwa. "There's even a direct flight to the USA from Delta
Airlines. This has remained baffling, why he went to Lagos before
beginning a new journey." Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa said that Ghanaian
officials had tightened security since the incident and plan to install
full-body scanners at Kotoka International Airport in Accra.
Source: BlackStarNews (linked above): He left Ghana on the 24th of December and flew to Lagos, Nigeria. He arrived in Lagos at 8:08 p.m. and less than 40 minutes later, he checked in for the Amsterdam-Detroit flight. Except for the time between arriving and departing, Abdulmutallab had not been in his home country of Nigeria for 5 years.
President Barack Obama apparently received a "high-level" briefing three days before Christmas, with information taken from a report by US intelligence agencies issuing a warning about a "holiday period" attack. Update: Another thought is former
CIA, Michael Schueur's warning that an event, just like this one, may
be used to "clog" the intelligence pipeline. See links to that discussion below.
An administration "senior" official speaking anonymously said Yemen was not mentioned in the report, and then declined to disclose the substance of the briefing!!!
According to the senior official, the holiday threat briefing, one in a
series of regularly-scheduled sessions with top counter-terrorism
officials, was held in the White House Situation Room on December 22.
Present were representatives of agencies involved in counter-terrorism
policy and operations, including Attorney General Eric Holder, Homeland
Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and FBI Director Robert Mueller.
The CIA and National Intelligence Directors Office were represented by
deputy agency heads: CIA deputy director Steven Kappes, and David
Gompert, the principal deputy to National Intelligence Czar Dennis
Blair. Also present was Michael Leiter, director of the National
Counter-terrorism Center, a unit of the Intelligence Czar's office
which was created after 9/11 to ensure that intelligence reporting
about possible terrorist plots was shared quickly among all US agencies
who might have some capability to do something about it.

The "senior" official said in early December there was information on a possible holiday-period attack originating from Pakistan. He reiterated that there was no intelligence implicating an attack from Yemen, but...
...a US intelligence official, who also asked
for anonymity, explained: "As everybody knows, terrorists often speak
in coded language, especially when they think their communications
might be intercepted. There was no clear discussion of an attack, on
Christmas or any other time, in the Middle East or anywhere else. But
as veiled as the message was, it was spotted, processed, analyzed, and
presented to senior policymakers as a warning sign-however vague-of a
holiday attack. While this was handled properly, there were, to put it
mildly, virtually no details at all. That happens."
The solution is simple. Profile in addition to whatever intelligence agencies are doing behind the scenes. Then, do not lie to the citizenry! You have asked us to watch, to be alert. Then you try to discredit our information without a thorough investigation. The Christmas Day attack is surrounded by lies from the government.
After denying the account of other NW 253 passengers - three to be exact, after deplaning, that a second man's carry-on baggage had a hit by a bomb-and-or-drug-sniffing dog, and then that passenger was taken away in handcuffs, today authorities have admitted it happened - a second man was detained - although they offer no explanation.
We have a witness, pre-boarding Flt. 253, saying an Indian man accompanied the bomber at the flight desk and tried to get the bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, on the flight with no passport - yet the Dutch says he had a valid Nigerian passport. Dutch authorities say they have reviewed the video at the flight desk, but will not release it, and will not reveal what the video showed. The passenger who overheard the conversation between the desk attendant and the Indian man, asks why the video is not being released? As he points out, if the video showed he is lying, and there was no Indian man with the bomber, Abdulmutallab, the video would be viral by now.
We, the inconsequential citizens out here, need to be relentless about the circumstances surrounding Abdulmutallab's bomb attempt. It is likely he did not work alone, and had assistance other than al-Qaeda in Yemen. It is clearly possible that al-Qaeda assisted him at the flight gate. Umar Farouk Abdullmutallab, the Christmas Day Bomber, or Underwear Bomber, attended an Islamic school in Houston, Texas for two weeks in August 2008. The school had a satellite school in Detroit. In other news, a Nigerian official says Abdulmutallab purchased his ticket from a KLM office in Accra, Ghana - not Nigeria. See a video below.
HOUSTON (AP) — The man accused of trying to bring down a Detroit-bound
U.S. airliner on Christmas Day spent two weeks in Houston last year
attending a seminar conducted by a Web-based Islamic education center.
Waleed Basyouni is the vice president of the AlMaghrib (ahl-MAHG'-rihb)
Institute. He says Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (OO'-mahr fah-ROOK'
ahb-DOOL'-moo-TAH'-lahb) registered online in April 2008, then attended
a two-week program hosted by the institute in Houston in August 2008.
He says school records show Abdulmutallab identified himself as a
21-year-old Nigerian student at University College London and the
London School of Economics who was studying mechanical engineering and
business finance.
Basyouni says the institute is working with the authorities on the case.
Kurt Haskell and his wife were passengers on Northwest Flight 253 on Christmas Day. Kurt Haskell has a few stories to tell. The FBI is interested in Kurt and his stories, but their stories and Haskell's stories do not jive. Video below.

According to Haskell, while waiting to board Northwest Flight 253, Kurt Haskell saw Abdulmutallab and a "smart dressed" Indian man at the flight desk. Haskell heard the "smart dressed" Indian man tell the person behind the desk that Abdulmutallab was a Sudanese refugee, had no passport and needed to get on the flight." The desk attendant sent the two down the hall to a Manager's office. Haskell says the "smart dressed" man told the desk attendant "we do it all the time." That was the last Haskell saw of Abdulmutallab until the attempted bombing happened and the bomber was taken off of the aircraft.
After landing:
According to Haskell, everyone aboard 253 were detained with their carry-on luggage in an "evacuated luggage claim" area in the airport. Officials with bomb sniffing dogs arrived. The dogs hit on a bag belonging to a "30-ish Indian man." This Indian man was not the same man Haskell saw with the bomber inside the airport. Haskell calls this man "the man in orange." The man in orange was taken to another room by authorities. He was not handcuffed going into the room. He was handcuffed when he came out of the room.
Authorities then told the group they were being moved to another part of the terminal because "this area is not safe." Haskell said the entire time the passengers were detained (some 6 hours) no one but law enforcement was allowed into their area.
Here's the rest of the story:
After Kurt Haskell, an attorney in Michigan, told his story online about the bomber and the "smart dressed man" before boarding the plane, and the story of "the man in orange" being handcuffed and led away after deplaning, authorities refused to admit a second man was detained until about December 28th when FBI officials said "the man in orange," was simply a legitimate but "sick" businessman, and they deny [or have ignored] the story about the drug-sniffing dogs and the man taken away in handcuffs. At this time, the Dutch officials declare that Abdulmutallab had a valid Nigerian passport, despite the conversation Haskell says he overheard.
The FBI has, since we
landed, insisted that only one man was arrested for the airliner attack
(contradicting my account). However, several of my fellow passengers
have come over the past few days, backed up my claim, and put pressure
on FBI/Customs to tell the truth. Early today, I heard from two
different reporters that a federal agency (FBI or Customs) was now
admitting that another man has been held (and will be held
indefinitely) since our flight landed for "immigration reasons." Notice
that this man was "being held" and not "arrested", which was a cute
semantic ploy by the FBI to stretch the truth and not lie.
Just a question, could that mean that the man in orange had no passport?
However, a few hours later, Customs changed its story again. This
time, Mr. Ron Smith of Customs, says the man that was detained "had
been taken into custody, but today tells the news the person was a
passenger on a different flight."
Delta spokeswoman Susan Elliott has said a man was "verbally
disruptive" which caused flight crew to request law enforcement meet
the aircraft upon landing.
However the FBI later released a
statement saying the man was not a threat to the flight and was merely
ill. "The investigation shows that this was a non-serious incident and
all is clear," the bureau said.
Haskell is asking the Dutch police to release the video of the "sharp dressed man," which they admit they have viewed.
Please note that there is a very easy way to verify the veracity of
my prior "sharp dressed man" account. Dutch police have admitted that
they have reviewed the video of the "sharp dressed man" that I
referenced.
Note that it has not been released anywhere, You see, if my
eye witness account is false, it could easily be proven by releasing
the video. However, the proof of my eyewitness account would also be
verified if I am telling the truth and I am.
There is a reason we have
only heard of the video and not seen it. dutch authorities, "RELEASE
THE VIDEO!"
