Rashid Khalidi Columbia University adds Palestine Studies Center

Rashid Khalidi is the co-director of the new Columbia University Palestine Studies Center where he is the Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies. Columbia has had a Middle East Institute for over 50 years, but the new "center" for Palestine Studies is considered "the first of its kind."

Rashid Khalidi

You'll remember Khalidi:

1) recently raising funds for a Free Palestine/Support Hamas terror flotilla, named The Audacity of Hope, (named after Obama's book) in waters where Israel has the right to blockade any movement of weapons into Gaza,

2) has a friendship with White House gatecrasher Tareq Salahi (see the pic of Obama with with Salahi's long before the gatecrashing, and most infamously,

3) celebrated Palestine and the audacity of Israel at a farewell party with Barack Obama and Bill Ayers for Khalidi. There were unconfirmed talks of a "toast" to something considered inappropriate regarding Israel with Obama present. Speculation was that the toast was perhaps to the "toasting"(as in "destruction") of Israel. The Los Angeles Times has the video, and refuses to release it.

Khalidi is a former advisor to, and spokesman for, Yassar Arafat and a former professor at the University of Chicago. Khalidi's wife Mona was the English language editor for the PLO press agency.
In 1985, Mr. Khalidi published an adulatory book on the PLO in which he personally thanked Yasser Arafat: "Permission to utilize the P.L.O. archives ... was generously given by the Chairman of the P.L.O. Executive Committee, Yasir Arafat. To him and to the dedicated individuals working in the office of the Chairman, the P.L.O. archive and the Palestine News Agency (WAFA), who extended every possible assistance to me on three trips to Tunis, I owe deep thanks."
Today, however, Mr. Khalidi distances himself from his past.
In truth, Mr. Khalidi is still spinning for the Palestinian leadership. For example, although the Palestinian Authority (PA) is ruled at the whim of a despotic Yasser Arafat, Mr. Khalidi argues the PA has an "elected leader." He asserts that Israel's government "refused to negotiate" with the PA when, in reality, Israel has formally negotiated with the PA since 1993.
Moreover, Mr. Khalidi would like us to believe that Israel has "violated every one of the seven agreements it signed with the PLO since that time." This is, of course, a transparent inversion of the truth. Source: Campus Watch
As Khalidi departed UC to takeover Columbia's Middle East studies, Obama's attendance at a 2003 farewell party, along with Bill Ayers and wife, Bernardine Dorn, and a crowd of mostly Palestinian-Americans is well-documented. According to Los Angeles Times writer Peter Wallsten claimed that the LA Times had a copy of the video. From the National Review:
At Khalidi’s 2003 farewell party, for example, a young Palestinian American recited a poem accusing the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians and sharply criticizing U.S. support of Israel. If Palestinians cannot secure their own land, she said, “then you will never see a day of peace.”
One speaker likened “Zionist settlers on the West Bank” to Osama bin Laden, saying both had been “blinded by ideology.”
The same article says that state Senator Obama took a more measured response, suggesting that we just all get along.

As Columbia University begins the new study center, there is little said about the connection to Barack Obama or Bill Ayers or Obama's emotional commitment to the Islamic Palestine. Nevertheless, the L.A. Times article referenced above speaking of the farewell party for Khalidi, makes this argument:
But his presence at such events, as he worked to build a political base in Chicago, has led some Palestinian leaders to believe that he might deal differently with the Middle East than either of his opponents for the White House.
"I am confident that Barack Obama is more sympathetic to the position of ending the occupation than either of the other candidates," said Hussein Ibish, a senior fellow for the American Task Force on Palestine, referring to the Israeli presence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip that began after the 1967 war. More than his rivals for the White House, Ibish said, Obama sees a "moral imperative" in resolving the conflict and is most likely to apply pressure to both sides to make concessions.
Rashid Khalidi often speaks of the revisionist history that lends support to Israel. Speaking of revisionist history - we haven't seen anything yet, as our college students traverse through the one-way street of Khalidi's Palestinian studies.

Vartan Gregorian and the Link to Obama and Bill Ayers: Gregorian on WH Fellowships Commission

Those watching Obama's connections to former Weather Underground member, Bill Ayers, knew that Ayers was the link to a completely inexperienced Barack Obama taking charge of The Annenberg Foundation's, Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC). Obama had $100 million, at least, to spend on education in the Chicago area. It was his first shot at leading. He failed miserably. Vartan Gregorian had a front row seat to watch the CAC train wreck, but one year ago, maybe it was payback time, he was appointed to Obama's White House Fellowship Commission.

Vartan Gregorian
This according to WorldNetDaily:
Documentation shows the White House fellow, Vartan Gregorian, was central in [Bill]Ayers' recruitment of Obama to serve as the first chairman of the project, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, or CAC - a job in which Obama worked closely on a regular basis with Ayers.
Canada Free Press also confirms the WorldNetDaily story as far back as 2008 when letters written in 1994 from Gregorian at Brown University notes Ayers part in forming the CAC board of Directors.

Gregorian was born in Tabriz, Iran to Armenian parents. Today he is president of Carnegie Corp. of New York. He was a president of Brown University and the New York Library. While at Brown, Gregorian served on the selection committee of the Annenberg Foundation. Ayers was one of the founders of the CAC. Gregorian asked Ayers to appoint the governing board with "people who reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of Chicago." It's my guess those ethnicities included no Jews. Mr. Gregorian is on the Board of Directors of Human Rights Watch, which was instrumental in the despicable Goldstone Report accusing Israel of war crimes.

Then Obama with the CAC and Ayers with his Small Schools Workshop set up an office, together, and shared that office for three years. Ayers, the terrorist, is the man who Obama insisted was just "a guy in the neighborhood.

From there Obama and Ayers went on a $100 million dollar spending spree. In the end, both of them were a spectacular failure in their mission to improve education in the Chicago area. Unfortunately for these two opportunists, learning can be measured, and the schools they gave money to had no improvement - all verified by the Annenberg records.

When the money was gone, Annenberg shut it down. But before the till was empty, Bill Ayers and his Small Schools program got a nice share of the money that Barack doled out at Ayers direction.

Knowing all of this, years later in 2009, Vartan Gregorian, along with other notables, sent an open letter Obama asking for 5% of the stimulus for education. Education received $100 billion from the stimulus that glaringly produced no stimulus.

REMINDER OF OBAMA AND THE CAC:

An example of how things worked at the CAC: grants went to the South Shore African Village Collaborative. The 'African Village' spent $150 million on 'rights of passage' (puberty rites), and Kwanzaa celebrations.

At the same time, others were not worthy of grants: The Chicago Algebra Project, with a goal to increase student achievement, The District 5 Math Initiative: goal to aid Hispanic students in the process of learning English and to further learn math and science - not worthy.

Causes supporting ethnic identity were the focus, and the program was a spectacular failure under the Director of the CEO, Barack Obama.

Stanley Kurtz, writing for the National Review OnLine poured through the CAC papers and noted that Obama gave money to others who favored "extremist Afrocentrists who shared his pastor, [Jeremiah] Wright's, anti-Americanism.

Can't help but wonder if Gregorian and Ayers still have contact. Thanks to PoliticiansLie for the video.

New York Times Compares Tea Partiers to Weathermen

After a couple of weeks of serious threats against Republicans, in the wake of the passage of health care, the New York Times has compared the Tea Party movement with the violent 1960's-70's group, the Weathermen. The paper upped the disgust quotient by using a photo of Barack Obama's domestic terrorist friend, Bill Ayers (second from right with white shirt, dark jacket and glasses), during the Weathermen's Days of Rage.

The NYT asks When Does Political Anger Turn to Violence? It's a meaningless question if asked about Tea Partiers. The paper doesn't give a flip. They clearly understand that Tea Partiers are not violent. We are angry, but we are not violent. The media's lack of coverage of Leftist attacks

Remember the Tea Partier whose finger was bitten off by MoveOn.org protester? Remember the Tea Party Express bus being egged by Harry Reid supporters? Remember Kenneth Gladney, a Black man who was attacked at a Missouri townhall health care protest? SEIU members demanded to know what a Black man was doing handing out "Don't tread on me" flags?" Mr. Gladney was badly beaten:
The SEIU member used a racial slur against Kenneth, then punched him in the face. Kenneth fell to the ground. Another SEIU member yelled racial epithets at Kenneth as he kicked him in the head and back. Kenneth was also brutally attacked by one other male SEIU member and an unidentified woman. The three men were clearly SEIU members, as they were wearing T-shirts with the SEIU logo.
Remember Sarah Palin telling Tea Partiers in at a Nevada rally: "It is not time to retreat. It's time reload,"and she immediately explained that her words were not a call for violence, but telling people that their "arms"[weapons] are their votes.

Remember the Left's outcry: Palin is inciting violence? CNN actually put the words "Inciting Violence" below a video of Palin.

This blog notes MSNBC's Keith Olberman tried to be balanced about Sarah's comment in Nevada: "How much more proof do we need? Palin and anybody associated with her needs to be thrown in jail immediately with no parole...."

But CNN had no problem with Obama saying this: "if they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. That's the Chicago Way!" CNN and the NYT had no problem with Barack Obama sharing an office with William "Bill" Ayers for three years. During the campaign for the 2008 elections, media didn't talk about Bill Ayers' Weathermen bombing a police station that injured man and killed the father of a little girl. Message to the NYT: You are a disgraceful, deceitful and downright untruthful rag.

William Bill Ayers America A Warrior Nation: Obama 60 Minutes Interview Right Out of Ayers Mouth

Barack Obama's disdain for America's Military-might is taken straight from the mouth of Bill Ayers. Obama's horribly harsh words about our Military in Afghanistan, and the Bush administration's actions there mimicked a recent interview of Bill Ayers. Have to wonder how recently they cozied-up and planned their strategy.

 William Bill Ayers

Barack Obama, speaking with Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes, bashed the Bush administration for entering into Afghanistan with an attitude of the war being "some glorious exercise," as our soldiers searched for al-Qaeda and some sense of justice for those who died on September 11, 2001. He mocked the winning attitude taken by the military, as the tendency to believe "We can go in; we can kick some tail."

Well, yes we certainly can kick some tail, even when the Commander-in-Chief is no Commander at all, and even if when that Commander-in-Chief has abdicated all reason for respect of leadership or his love of this country. His children are freerer only because the U.S. can kick some tail, no credit to him.

Disdaining victory, when soldiers are risking their lives, loved ones are sacrificing, and their Commander-in-Chief boils it down to "some glorious exercise," - right out of the mouth of radical Weatherman, William "Bill" Ayers.

From FreedomsLighthouse:
Ayers criticized the United States as a "warrior nation" and said he believes the War in Afghanistan is "an invasion and an occupation." Ayers said Obama's decision to send 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan is a "catastrophe."
He really summed up his view of his own nation by saying that "the idea (America) has been a force for good in the world for the last six decades is utter nonsense."

Ayers is a man who can't stand his own country. Despite the hundreds of millions of people who have been liberated by the United States, despite the defeat of the Soviet Union, despite America's work to feed the hungry and provide medicine and aid across the world, Ayers sees nothing good about the greatest nation on the face of the earth.

These are the people our President has listened to for years. Ayers displays for us the attitude that many on the Left have about America. That's why they are so dead set on "change." They don't like our history, our values, and the principles that have made America the defender of freedom in the world. Essentially, they want America to stop being America, and become a socialist European-style state. I don't believe this is what Americans were bargaining for when they voted for Obama out of emotion, fear and frustration. We'll find out in the 2010 mid-term elections.
As you watch the video below, you'll hear Ayers call for the closing of all American military bases around the world. Be reminded as Ayers talks, that Obama funneled millions of dollars to Ayers, and don't forget this part of the Ayers-Obama relationship. Ayers indicates that he will be a very active participant in turning America into a weak, ineffectual Nation.

Ayers admits 'Dreams' authorship again - just kidding

The news that Bill Ayers admitted authorship of Obama's 'Dreams From My Father' posted on these pages yesterday generated a lot of interest and comment. While most believe Ayers to be the author, some doubted the story that he would admit it to anyone, much less a conservative blogger. Others dismissed it as simply a tease. Salon.com ridiculed it (what do you expect), and still others thought the whole thing irrelevant either way. It has come to light that he said almost the identical thing to a National Journal reporter recently. Jonah Goldberg at National Review put up a post today in The Corner quoting the Journal's Will Englund:

Who actually wrote Dreams From My Father? ... National Journal caught up with Ayers at a recent book festival ... When he finished speaking, we put the authorship question right to him. For a split second, Ayers was nonplussed. Then an Abbie Hoffmanish, steal-this-book-sort-of-smile lit up his face. He gently took National Journal by the arm. "Here's what I'm going to say. This is my quote. Be sure to write it down: 'Yes, I wrote Dreams From My Father. I ghostwrote the whole thing. I met with the president three or four times, and then I wrote the entire book.'" He released National Journal's arm, and beamed in Marxist triumph. "And now I would like the royalties."
This is pretty much identical to what he said Monday. In light of that, I am inclined to agree with the skeptics that he was just having a joke on us. Or maybe it was a little more than that. Maybe this is the beginning of another smear campaign, wherein anyone who suggests Bill Ayers wrote Obama’s book is castigated, like people who question Obama’s eligibility. “Sure, I wrote Dreams, ha, ha, ha, and Sleeping Beauty too.” It seems pretty clear that he did write most or all of the book. This is stated plainly in Christopher Andersen's biography, never mind Cashill's diligent sleuthing. And while no one, left or otherwise, would deny Ayers lies, Andersen's veracity has never been doubted before now. As to its relevance, this is a blockbuster story really, because it completely discredits Obama's carefully crafted image. From that standpoint it makes sense that Ayers would try to ridicule those of us peddling it. As Jack Cashill makes clear at American Thinker today,
First, it reveals Obama to have been a shameless liar in his disavowal of Ayers during the campaign. Second, it suggests a dangerously intimate relationship with a man whose hatred of the United States borders on the pathological. And third, it makes a total sham out of the literary world's anointment of Obama as "the best writer to occupy the White House since Lincoln," the understanding on which the Obama genius myth is based.

Remember, influential people decided to back this president based on his supposed authorship of Dreams.

In light of the National Journal post it seems clear that Ayers was playing games, and I bought into it. Oh well, there goes perfect for the day.

But whatever Ayers hoped to gain, the story is not going away. Ayers has been a very influential person in Obama's life going back at least to the early 1990s, and likely the 1980s. In the 1990s, Ayers helped Obama gain access to the deep pockets of Chicago foundations, where he used them to grease the skids for his political career. He was a key player in many of the pro-Obama leftist organizations that helped Obama gain the White House. Until Ayers was summarily tossed under the bus in the campaign last year, many believed he was still a key influence, a mentor even. The story of his authorship remains relevant and provides yet more fuel for those of us who believe that President Obama gained office on false pretenses, is a danger to this country and thoroughly unfit to serve. Ayers may well be trying to marginalize those who legitimately question his role as Obama’s ghostwriter on Dreams. But he is playing with fire, considering the evidence that is at hand.

Bill Ayers admits writing 'Dreams' to conservative blogger

Truth is stranger than fiction. Last Friday we posted an article asserting Bill Ayers' authorship of President Barack Obama's 'Dreams From My Father,' based on claims made by Obama biographer Christopher Andersen. It is possible that we have now gotten direct confirmation of this from Bill Ayers himself. Anne Leary of Back Yard Conservative was passing through Washington, DC’s Reagan National Airport yesterday, and was surprised to come across Bill Ayers at Starbucks: “scruffy, thinning beard, dippy earring, and the wire rims, heading to order.” She struck up a conversation with him and snapped the accompanying photo. (Photo provided courtesy Anne Leary.) I interviewed Anne this morning about it. Ayers was in Washington, he told her, for a conference on education. “That's what I do, education,” he said. “You shouldn't believe everything you hear about me... You know nothing about me.” To which she responded, “I said, I know plenty--I'm from Chicago, a conservative blogger, and I'll post this.” I bet his heart skipped a beat on that one. But he didn’t scowl, and didn’t run off as he has been known to do. Instead, unprompted, he blurted out: “I wrote ‘Dreams From My Father… Michelle asked me to.” Then he added “And if you can prove it we can split the royalties.” Anne responded, “Stop pulling my leg!” But he repeated insistently, “I wrote it, the wording was similar [to Ayers’ other writing.]” Anne responded, “I believe you probably heavily edited it.” Ayers stated firmly, “I wrote it.” Anne ended the conversation by saying “why would I believe you? You're a liar.” Good for her. But we are left to wonder. Despite her parting shot, Anne was convinced Ayers was in earnest. He was making a public statement. He wanted this news out there. Was he, as she had asked, pulling our collective legs? Other sources report rumors that Ayers is very upset both about not getting any credit for helping Obama on ‘Dreams,’ and may also be put off by being summarily thrown under the bus along with Rev. Wright and everyone else who becomes an inconvenience to this President. My understanding of communists is that most would know better and keep their mouths shut. But Ayers is a bit different. He is, as he says, a “small ‘c’ communist,” but he is also, in a certain, slimy way, an entrepreneur, as we explained in Monday's post. (Apologies in advance to entrepreneurs everywhere.) He grew up a very rich kid, used to getting everything he wanted. Even as an adult his career has relied on a hand up from his wealthy father. His past statements and radical activities also mark him as a megalomaniac. In youth he drew attention to himself by blowing things up. As an adult "educator" he merely attempts to subvert children. But that doesn't seem to be going so well. He is under a lot of pressure, too. Ayers and his horrid wife Bernardine Dohrn are believed to have planned and executed the San Francisco Park Police Station bombing in 1970 that killed police sergeant Brian V. McDonnell and wounded several others. Efforts to bring them to justice have been underway for some time, as brought to light this past March in a National Press Club conference put on by Cliff Kincaid of America’s Survival. Cliff’s guests included Larry Grathwohl, the FBI’s undercover agent who penetrated Ayers’ Weather Underground and produced this stunning testimony about Ayers’ plan to massacre 25 million Americans, retired S.F. policeman James Pera, first on the scene at the bombing, and veteran researcher Trevor Loudon. Now, a recent exposé by San Francisco reporter Peter Jamison has revealed additional evidence, including testimony from other Weather Underground members, that Dohrn planted the bomb that killed Sgt. McDonnell. Maybe in his overstressed state Bill’s megalomania has just gotten the better of him.

Media malpractice: silence deafening on Ayers' authorship of "Dreams"

Perhaps one of the biggest political stories of the year is being completely overlooked by the Obama-struck old media. A new biography by veteran author Christopher Andersen, "Barack and Michelle: Portrait of a Marriage," reveals that former Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers wrote most, if not all of President Obama’s book "Dreams From My Father."

In a series of American Thinker articles over the past year, PhD author and columnist, Jack Cashill has been asserting just that. But while he found striking similarities between the two men’s writing styles he could never conclusively prove Ayers' ghost authorship. Andersen’s book does.

Cashill relates: "relying on inside sources, quite possibly Michelle Obama herself, Andersen describes how Dreams came to be published -- just as I had envisioned it in my articles on the authorship of Dreams. "With the deadline pressing, Michelle recommended that Barack seek advice from 'his friend and Hyde Park neighbor Bill Ayers.' Despite a large advance, Obama found himself 'hopelessly blocked.’ After four futile years of trying to finish, Obama ‘sought advice from his friend and Hyde Park neighbor Bill Ayers.' This he did 'at Michelle’s urging.'"

Andersen explains their rationale: "Everyone knew they were friends and that they worked on various projects together. It was no secret. Why would it be?" I don't know, but it was certainly considered a secret by candidate Obama, and the media bent over backwards to keep it that way. This was not the first time Mr. Obama was "blocked" either.

Shortly after Mr. Obama was elected the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, an aggressive literary agent named Jane Dystel secured a $125,000 advance from Simon & Schuster for him to write his book. An astounding sum for a first-time author, he never delivered. After years of waiting, the publisher dropped him.

Dystel then secured him a second advance for $40,000 from Random House, and in 1995 "Dreams" was finally published. After gaining his U.S. Senate seat, Mr. Obama dumped Dystel in favor of someone cheaper. She was understandibly infuriated. It is worth noting that as president of the Law Review, Mr. Obama wrote one short article. No other has ever been found. For such a supposedly gifted writer this is truly odd. And as Cashill has noted, Obama's published poetry is truly sophomoric.

Furthermore, "president" of the Law Review is not the same as "editor" of the Law Review. Being editor requires a commanding knowledge of both writing skills and law. It is a very demanding job. Being president, on the other hand, is more of a figurehead position. Andersen concludes: "In the end, Ayers's contribution to Barack's Dreams From My Father would be significant--so much so that the book's language, oddly specific references, literary devices, and themes would bear a jarring similarity to Ayers's own writing."

All this has somehow been lost on mass media's intrepid investigative journalists. Nary a peep. During his campaign, candidate Obama took great pains to distance himself from Ayers, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and the many other radicals he knew. But investigation by many independent journalists overcame the media blackout to reveal extensive connections between the two men. It is old news now that Ayers and Obama served on the boards of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and the Woods Fund together, but in total, Obama worked with Ayers and other radicals on at least six related non-profit boards and shared the same office for three years with Ayers and fellow radicals, Susan and Mike Klonsky.

Now this latest revelation about Ayers' ghostwriting suggests that not only did they work together, but Ayers essentially gave Obama his voice. Barack Obama is no literary giant. Furthermore, his steadfast refusal to provide any concrete information about any details of his past, his college grades, past job performance, or even voting record in the Illinois Senate, makes one wonder if Mr. Obama has any qualifications -- besides a polished public persona -- at all. He is looking more and more like a mere construct, a carefully crafted mouthpiece for a cabal of anonymous radicals.

Consider just a few of his "Czar" picks: Kevin Jennings the openly homosexual "Safe Schools Czar" who encouraged pedophilia; Cass Sunstein, the "Regulatory Czar" who believes, among other things, that animals should have the right to sue humans in court; Van Jones, like Ayers, a self-described communist, fortunately resigned under a cloud. As "Green Jobs Czar," Jones was to distribute stimulus money based on formulas worked up by the Apollo Alliance, run in NY by Jeff Jones. No relation to Van, Jeff is an old Weather Underground friend of Bill Ayers.   Valerie Jarrett -- the "other side of Obama’s brain," -- has spent a lifetime working with and around the American Communist Party and is thoroughly plugged-in to Chicago radical networks. Jarrett recommended Van Jones for Green Jobs Czar.

The list goes on and on. Obama’s early denial of Ayers is ringing ever hollower. Rather than being just "some guy in my neighborhood," Ayers and Obama are fused at the hip. And Ayers is typical of the rabid, anti-American lunatics Barack has surrounded himself with. Meanwhile, the media's silence is deafening. God help us.

Ayers, Dohrn Murder Case Reopened - Weather Underground Ayers, Dohrn

Friend and contributor Jim Simpson has remained diligent in his efforts to expose Barack Obama, et al. His latest post details the reopening of what many believe should be a solid murder case against Bill Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, both former members of the Weather Underground. See a video below.

Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn - Weathermen (Photo)

A problem lies in the way of real justice, however, and that problem is Barack Obama's Attorney General, Eric Holder, who seems to have an affinity for terrorists of the worst sort. Now Holder will be called upon to release evidence pertaining to Barack Obama's close friend, Bill Ayers and the Weather Underground terrorism acts. Bill Ayers is infamous for his leadership as a Weatherman, and perhaps equally as infamous for his more recent comments: In the New York Times saying:
I don't regret setting bombs, I feel we didn't do enough.
In an interview with David Horowitz:
[Ayers] summed up his experience: Guilty as hell. Free as a bird. America is a great country.
Astonishing but not as astonishing as some of the things he said back in the tumultuous and, to Ayers, romantic-seeming days of the Weathermen, when he said this:
Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at...
He attempted to extort $20,000.00 from the Vietnam Moratorium Committee by offering to squelch violence during a planned peace protest. When a member of the Moratorium asked Ayers what he really wanted, he responded "To kill all rich people." And his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, who in 1969 saluted Charles Manson's murders of actress Sharon Tate and seven others. Manson's followers killed the pregnant Tate and then stabbed a fork into her stomach. From Dohrn, speaking at the "1969 War Council:"
First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!
All the details of the reopening of the murder case, which has the full support of the San Francisco Police Union, are in Simpson's article below:

American Thinker by Jim Simpson March 18, 2009
Free as a Bird, Guilty as Hell - at Least for Now

Bill Ayers' famous quip may come back to haunt him. There is no statute of limitations on murder charges.

On February 16, 1970, someone planted a bomb at San Francisco's Park Police Station. It was placed in a window of the business office and timed to explode at shift change, when the maximum number of officers would be there, either finishing up or starting their work.

It was a powerful blast, throwing one officer in the station parking lot completely over his patrol car and sending shrapnel for over two city blocks. The bomb fortunately detonated a few minutes early so the destruction was less than it might have been. Still, nine were wounded, one -- Officer Robert Fogarty -- badly enough that he retired from the force on disability, and one, Sergeant Brian McDonnell, 45 year old married father of two, was killed.

On Thursday, March 12, 2009, Cliff Kincaid of America's Survival Inc. held a press conference at the National Press Club, launching the Campaign for Justice for Victims of Weather Underground Terrorism, to focus public attention on evidence that may finally bring the alleged perpetrators to justice: Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn

He has a lot of support. In a letter to Mr. Kincaid's group, the San Francisco's Police Officer's Association writes:
There are irrefutable and compelling reasons to believe that Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn, members of the terrorist group 'Weather Underground', are largely responsible for the bombing of Park Police Station and other police stations throughout the United States during their 'tour of terror' in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
This case has been reopened and evidence is being gathered. Meetings have been held among local and state authorities, including current and former law enforcement officials, to obtain justice. That is why the "Campaign for Justice for Victims of Terrorism" held this press conference. They want to bring pressure on Obama's Justice Department, now headed by former Clinton Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder, to release all of the evidence in their possession.

J'accuse!

By Findalis On February 16, 1970 a pipe bomb filled with shrapnel exploded on the ledge of a window at the San Francisco Police Department's Golden Gate Park station. Brian V. McDonnell, a police sergeant, was fatally wounded in its blast; Robert Fogarty, another police officer, was severely wounded in his face and legs and was partially blinded. No one was ever charged with this crime but it is considered to be the work of the Weather Underground. You know that group that Bill ”I didn't bomb enough” Ayers used to be in charge of. And you do know who Aryers is. Former terrorist (who never repented and was proud of his work), Professor in the College of Education at the professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Fugitive from the law, Radical liberal, and oh yes, a good friend of President Barack Obama. That Bill Ayers. But that is to change. Although the Feds couldn't get charges to stick to him, or his wife Bernardine Dohrn (funny how as a radical and communist they didn't mind using his daddy's money to get a good attorney to get them off on a technicality) they just might have something now.

A San Francisco police union has accused former domestic terrorist William Ayers, co-founder of the Weather Underground, and his wife in a 1970 bombing that killed one sergeant, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The union, in a letter to a conservative organization lobbying for arrests in the case, accused Ayers and wife Bernardine Dohrn of bombing a city police station. On Feb. 16, 1970, a bomb placed on a window ledge of Park Station killed Sgt. Brian McDonnell and injured eight other officers, the Chronicle reported. The union said it had not been in contact with investigators nor did it have new evidence, but it cited Larry Grathwohl, who works with the conservative organization America's Survival of Maryland and claims that he infiltrated Weather Underground as an FBI informant and heard Ayers confess, the Chronicle reported. "There are irrefutable and compelling reasons to believe that Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn ... are largely responsible for the bombing of Park Police Station," the Feb. 24 letter reads, according to the Chronicle. Read the full story here.
Tomorrow Larry Grathwohl will be holding a press conference to reveal his knowledge on the bombing which took the life of Police Sergeant Brian V. McDonnell. Here is ”Opening Statement”:
Remarks of Larry Grathwohl, at America’s Survival, Inc., “Justice for Victims of Terrorism” conference, March 12, 2009.
One of the issues in Washington, D.C. for President Barack Obama is what to do with the terrorists being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after he issued an executive order to close the detention facility. The question we want answered is why terrorists close to him politically have escaped justice for the 1970 bombing of the Park Police Station in San Francisco. We believe the Department of Justice should make available all the evidence in this case to local authorities and law enforcement officials. I was in the Weather Underground as an informant/infiltrator for the FBI. I have testified, spoken, and written about the involvement of Weather Underground terrorist leaders Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn in that bombing. That bombing on February 16, 1970, took the life of Sergeant Brian V. McDonnell. There is no statute of limitations on murder. But first, let me back up. I remember the Sunday morning in January of 1970 when it was obvious to me that the three FBI agents were upset. They wanted to know when the bombings of the Detroit Police Officers Building and the 13th precinct would take place and which members of the Weather Underground would be assigned to do it. Bill Ayers had debriefed me regarding every aspect of the plans we had developed before telling me I was being reassigned to Madison. Bill’s two major requirements were that the bombs go off at the same time and that the greatest number of police officers would be killed or injured. Both bombs were to contain fence staples or roofing nails to ensure this effect. Bill Ayers didn’t care if innocent people were also killed or injured. Bill had even gone so far as to tell us that the bomb at the 13th precinct should be placed on a window ledge. Both bombs were set four days later than originally planned but both also failed to detonate due to failures in the timing devices. I wouldn’t see Bill Ayers again until February of 1970 in Buffalo when I returned from a day of obtaining death certificates for use in creating phony ID’s for fellow members of my new cell of Weatherman terrorists. As soon as we had all assembled, Bill began a criticism session of myself and my associates for having spent too much time preparing for actions (bombings) and not doing anything. He reminded us of the commitment all of us had made to the overthrow of the U.S. government at the National Council Meeting in Flint the previous December and how our inactivity was harming the Cubans, the Vietnamese and the Chinese. Bill went on to describe how Bernardine Dorhn, a Weather Underground central committee member and considered the leader of the Weather Underground, had to plan and commit the bombing of the Park Station in San Francisco. This bomb contained fence staples and was placed on a window ledge during a shift change ensuring the presence of the greatest number of police officers and the greatest possibility of death and injury. Several Police Officers were injured and one, Sergeant McDonnell, was killed by fence staples used in the bomb. He was in the hospital for two days before he succumbed to his injuries. At the National Council Meeting which took place in Flint, Michigan, in late December of 1969, Bernardine Dorhn had praised mass murderer Charles Manson and said, “The Weatherman is about a communist revolution to destroy the white racist’s society and establish a democratic centralist’s government”. Furthermore, Bernadine wanted everyone at the council meeting to, “bring the war home and off (kill) their parents”. Read it further at YID With LID
There is no Statute of Limitations on Murder by either the Federal Authorities or the State of California. And the evidence presented in this new indictment will not carry the stain from the failed case the government had at the time. J'accuse you Professor Ayes and your wife Bernardine Dohrn of the woeful taking of a life. No cause you could give would justify that crime. You tried to destroy the United States, hand it over to the governments of Cuba, North Vietnam, Communist China and the Soviet Union. You wished to murder 25 million Americans who didn't believe what you did. All you did was to kill one police officer and wound another.

Both the State of California and the Federal Government impose the Death Penalty for the murder of an officer of the law. You both have the means to hire the best attorneys in the nation. You are going to need them. For this time, I pray that you get the maximum sentence under the law. And if your good friend and neighbor Barack Obama grants you clemency or even worse, a pardon. He will have cut his throat politically. You have had your fun, Professor Ayers. Now it is time to pay the price for that fun.

Ayers The Guy Nobody Wants

Cross posted by Findalis of Monkey in the Middle Bill Ayers, noted educator, friend of Barack Obama, and unrepentant terrorist, was politely told you're not welcome here by of all places: Canada.

William Ayers, the 1960s radical whose ties to President-elect Barack Obama caused trouble for his campaign, was turned away from Canada Sunday night as he tried to enter the country for a series of educational events. Jeffrey Kugler, the executive director for the Center for Urban Schooling at the University of Toronto, said Ayers was deemed not admissible after being pulled aside by Canadian immigration officials while trying to clear customs at the Toronto airport. Ayers had been invited to speak before the center. He was also scheduled to meet with the Toronto District School Board and do interviews with Canadian television and radio stations, Kugler said. Kugler said the center sent e-mails notifying guests who planned to attend Ayers' talk that he had been turned back. Kugler said the center will try to reschedule Ayers. Ayers, a co-founder of the violent Weather Underground group and current education professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, told the Toronto Star that he didn't know why he had been turned away. According to Kugler, Ayers was told he could request a hearing but that would mean some sort of detention and a possible two week wait. Ayers opted to return to Chicago.
That is the second time in a week that Canada has done the right thing. What ever Canadians are doing keep it up. You should be very proud of yourselves and your nation. A great pat on the back is in order.

Ayers - Death and Destruction: "A Joke About Distribution of Wealth

The media, just days out from the most historic election of our time, continues to deny Barack Obama's close ties to Weather Undergrounder, Bill Ayers . When they can't deny it, they discount it. How many times have you heard on the major networks, or on cable for that matter, that Obama and Ayers SHARED an office for three years? Chances are you haven't heard it all. If you missed the truth read it here. Obama and Ayers were very close. They shared offices, political views, and their visions for eduction - including the administration of millions of misused dollars. Our associations...how we spend our time with our associations, matter - just as words matter. In a New York Times interview with William Ayers, "No Regrets for a Love of Explosives; "...a Memoir of Sorts, the intellectually prolific William Ayers says:

Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at...
In this 2001 article, he flirts with the issue of truth. Did he really say "kill your parents"..."kill all the rich people?" Maybe it's true, or it may not be true - he can't decide, BUT in the same interview, speaking of the quote above, he says this about it:
It was a joke about the distribution of wealth.'
Death to family, destruction of life and property, it is all about the distribution of wealth. William Ayers helped shape Barack Obama. When Obama's career got its kick-start, it happened side-by-side with William Ayers. They conspired to funnel millions of dollars to far-left causes, including funding ethnic studies which denied the celebration as this Nation's Independence Day, instead recognizing Juneteenth. Math and science projects were refused funds. Of Ayers' vision for education, The Wall Street Journal put it this way:
...he views his education work as an effort to stoke resistance to an oppressive American system
Barack Obama help Ayers with this agenda, and they, together, failed miserably to serve the children of Chicago's public schools. He will fail our country miserably, as well.

The LA Times: Ayers is an "Ex" Weatherman? Obama Didn't 'Meet and Greet" at Ayers'?

William Ayers and Bernardine Dorhn - Weather Underground Photo Credit: AP Celebrating their celebrity as domestic terrorists Big smiles from Ayers and Dohrn I wonder if the Police Officer was based at the Police Station these two blew up.
The L.A. Times, on October 16th made two critical statements, thereby telling two important lies and revising history. Odd, isn't it, that we haven't heard anyone from the "Meet and Greet Coffee" at the home of William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn speak of the "launching" of Barack Obama's political career. Not a peep. Well, here it is. Take it. Blog about it. Let the world know. The first was reported by Patterico's Pontification today:
[Patterico speaking] On Thursday, the L.A. Times claimed that there is “no recorded basis” for John McCain’s statement that Obama launched his political career in Bill Ayers’s living room. That same day, I wrote a post that proved them wrong. I linked a January 27, 2005 blog post by Maria Warren, a political liberal who attended the function. In that post, she said:
[Maria Warren speaking] When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the livingroom of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. They were launching him–introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread.
Then, a subliminal statement (not suggestion): the LA Times referred to Ayers as an "ex-Weatherman." They actually said he WAS an "ex-Weatherman." There is no evidence that Ayers left the Weather Underground, or that he denied them his membership. He just turned coward and went underground. When he surfaced, he turned himself in. They hid. They were all cowards. Ayers and his wife. Let us not forget that. Thank you to Susan Duclos at Wake up America

Ayers Audio on Anarchism, Marxism, Drugs, Patriotism

This video by College Radio Interview was filmed one week before Barack Obama and Bill Ayers sat on a panel together to discuss a book written by Ayers, A Kind and Just Parent, which Obama supported and favorably reviewed. Michelle Obama as Dean of Student Services moderated the panel and introduced both men. In this video, Ayers says:

I'm very open about what I think, and nobody here is surprised about what I think
Cross-posted from Stop the ACLU Obama’s lame excuses that he did not know how radical Ayers was when he used to hang out with him, will eventually unravel. Obama and Ayers Shared an Office for Three Years

Barack Obama's Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) office and William Ayers' Small Schools Workshop shared the same address for a number of years - three years that can be proven by tax returns.

William Ayers, Weather Underground

Visit Jon at Verum Serum for a look at his verifying screen shots and updates on the monies directly distributed by Barack Obama through the CAC (more than previously known), and a note about the $750,000.00 given to John Ayers, William Ayers' father, from the coffers of the CAC. Remember, Obama has faced the cameras and told the voters that Weather Underground terrorist, William Ayers, is just "a guy in the neighborhood." He lied, yet again.

To Verum Serum, great reporting! William Ayers writes about Barack Obama: Michelle Malkin, courtesy of "ex-blogger," See-dubya, snagged a quote by Bill Ayers about THAT other guy in the neighborhood, Barack Obama.

Here's the story: You may remember that as Associate Dean of Student Services at University of Chicago, Michelle Obama hosted a 1997 panel discussion based on a book published that same year by William Ayers, The Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court. State Senator Barack Obama was the only other panelist, and Obama was there in support of Ayers' position that juvenile offenders should not be placed into the adult prison system. Students were invited to attend the discussion. Speaking of the Hyde Park area of Chicago, where the University of Illinois is located, Ayers says:
Our neighbors include Muhammad Ali, former mayor Eugene Sawyer, poets Gwendolyn Brooks and Elisabeth Alexander, and writer Barack Obama. Minister Louis Farrakhan lives a block from our home and adds, we think, a unique dimension to the idea of "safe neighborhood watch": the Fruit of Islam, his security force, has an eye on things twenty-four hours a day.
Then Ayers dishes about the urban blight surrounding his "safe neighborhood" and quotes Mike Nichols (I'm assuming this is the director, writer, producer, grad of the University of Chicago, and husband of ABC's Diane Sawyer] who once described Hyde Park as:
"...the only racially integrated neighborhood in Chicago," and then added caustically, "it's black and white shoulder to shoulder against the poor."
"There's painful truth in that description," says Ayers, "as the powerful university and its allied neighborhood association have worked to manipulate boundaries and borders to assure "stability" and separation." Ayers says he passes Farrakhan's mansion each day, turns North a couple of blocks and "into the lap of urban blight," - which, remember, the residents of Hyde Park stand shoulder to shoulder, on-guard AGAINST intrusion into their tony neighborhood.

Barack Obama speaks about William Ayers: Being neighborly demands the return of a good deed. Right? So Obama reviews Ayers' book shortly after the panel discussion.

Thanks to Zomblog for sharing the research, and Dr. Sanity for the heads-up. Ayers believes that he and his terrorist buddies from the Weather Underground, as well as his terrorist wife, Bernardine Dohrn, have been a great force for social justice in America - standing up for the poor and the oppressed - and bombing American institutions like the Pentagon, the State Department and the U.S. Capitol. In truth, he cost America taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollar in the 1970's for repair to some of our most beloved institutions, he threatened lives and later, after Barack Obama thought Ayers was rehabilitated, he blatantly stole huge sums of money from Chicago schools.

William Ayers speaks about William Ayers: In September 2008, Ayers blogged about his mission as a terrorist and provided a cartoon strip to quote himself! The MSM, for the most part, ignored this message from William Ayers. Of the few places I've found the "strip" printed, Global Labor nailed it. The text in the "strip" is small, so Global Labor provided it, along with some great commentary following the cartoon strip.

Barack Obama's Chicago African Village

Stanley Kurtz at National Review OnLine has culled the evidence from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge papers and he's posting about it:

Barack Obama

John McCain, take note. Obama’s tie to Wright is no longer a purely personal question (if it ever was one) about one man’s choice of his pastor. The fact that Obama funded extremist Afrocentrists who shared Wright’s anti-Americanism means that this is now a matter of public policy, and therefore an entirely legitimate issue in this campaign.
Remember the South Shore African Village Collaborative? Kurtz has filled-in the blanks. Have you read about the African "rites of passage movement," (to which Obama directed many thousands of dollars)? In reality, it's scary stuff - as Kurtz describes it, "ceremonies inspired by the puberty rites found in many African societies." In theory, it is thought that the "passage" is only taught, not practiced, at this Chicago African Village. This is information voters need, especially those who think Obama is just as American as apple pie. One last quote from Kurtz before you read it at NRO:
A group that puts its efforts into Kwanzaa celebrations and half-baked history certainly fits that bill, and goes a long way toward explaining how Ayers and Obama managed to waste upwards of $150 million without improving student achievement.

Ayers and Dorhn and the Shameful Rings of Death

A note from Radarsite: So you think you know all there is to know about Bill Ayers and his lovely wife Bernadine Dorhn, right? Wrong. Dead wrong. They were just mixed up young kids, "War Protesters", even "60's radicals. But what they did was in the end pretty harmless and they have since repented. Well, get ready for some shocking revelations from Vodka Pundit's Will Collier. Traitorous, murderous and unrepentant -- these are just a few of the words which come to mind. There are many others of course. Read the following bombshell article and ask yourself what are the most appropriate words to describe these two treacherous and amoral creatures, these undeniable associates of our deceptive and elusive presidential candidate. And, whatever you do, don't forget about the rings, those shameful rings of death. - rg --------------------------------------------------------

Why Ayers Matters

Posted by Will Collier on 05 Oct 2008 at 02:54 pm

The media is atwitter today over Sarah Palin’s pointing out something they and their candidate of choice would just as soon went unnoticed: Barack Obama’s history with Bill Ayers, late of the Weatherman Underground. Given the lack of coverage over Ayers, to say nothing of his connections to Obama, one might well wonder, what’s the big deal? Why would anybody care whether Obama was friends with some ex-hippie who protested the Vietnam War, way back when Obama was just a kid? The answers is: Bill Ayers was more than a ‘war protester,’ and more than simply a ’60’s radical (let’s face it, Obama couldn’t set foot in a college faculty lounge without running into plenty of those). He was much, much worse than any of that. During the late 60’s and early 70’s, Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn–who herself gets way too little notice in any current reporting–were far worse than simple anti-war protestors. They were very much on the other side, actively working for the defeat of America abroad in war and the murders of Americans at home. Among many other crimes, Dohrn traveled to Cuba in 1969, where she met with of the Vietnamese Provisional Revolutionary Government. In that meeting, Dohrn and other Weathermen agreed to “wage armed struggle” within the United States. In appreciation for their efforts, Huyhn gave Dorhn, and later Ayers, rings forged from the metal of downed American fighter planes. One wonders whether John McCain’s A-4, downed in Hanoi in 1967, was the source of either ring. One also wonders whether Ayers and Dohrn were wearing those tokens of fraternal solidarity when they introduced Barack Obama to the political world from their home some 13 years ago. The excuse is often trotted out that Ayers and Dohrn weren’t so bad, since the Weathermen were so incompetent at terrorism that they only managed to kill a few of their own ranks, in a 1970 explosion. That’s errant nonsense. The bomb that destroyed a New York townhouse, and less sadly, the three Weathermen who were inside it, was intended to be set off at an Fort Dix NCO club dance. If you think Ayers and Dohrn and the other surviving Weathermen who were complicit in that planned bombing ought to be considered guiltless because the bombing was botched, you must also think Richard Reid should be set free because he too was an incompetent terrorist, one dumb enough to try and set off his shoe bomb with a match. Of course, Reid’s incompetence, and that of Zacarias Moussaoui, are not a mitigating factors, nor should they be. Reid and Moussaoui actually got off easy. Both deserve execution; instead, they get to spend the rest of their lives looking at a blank wall in Supermax. If any member of the press corps had a single ounce of nerve, they’d ask Barack Obama why the same fate shouldn’t have been visited on his pals from Hyde Park. I’m not holding my breath. When the press mentions Ayers at all, it’s in romanticized terms. Too many members of our political and media elite still look on leftist terrorists as heroes, more to their abiding shame. The number years that have passed since Ayers’ and Dohrn’s Weatherman days are likewise irrelevant; there is no statute of limitations on terrorism or treason. Another of Obama’s political patrons, William Daley, Jr. of Chicago, has the audacity (if you’ll pardon the term) to shrug off Ayers and Dohrn, saying recently, “This is 2008, people make mistakes. You judge a person by his whole life.” No, Mr. Mayor, you don’t. Not when those “mistakes” are major crimes. To restate: Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn should be staring at blank walls in Supermax for the rest of their lives. They are not cute. They are not admirable. They are not innocents who were swept up in juvenile enthusiasms. They are traitors who consorted with America’s enemies during wartime. They are terrorists who bombed the US Capitol, the New York City Police Headquarters, the Pentagon, and who tried to set off a bomb that would have killed and maimed dozens of American servicemen, their wives and sweethearts. I have no particular illusions as to whether Obama will ever seriously be asked (much less answer) questions about why he ever associated with these two criminals. His flip and misleading answers to date suggest that he considers the question radioactive (as well he should), but the press, in the tank for Obama’s candidacy and still full of romanticism for Sixties “rebels” is fully intent on giving him a pass. Yesterday an AP writer even made the risible accusation that criticism of the lily-white Ayers and Dohrn is somehow “racist” (and while I’m not and probably never will be a McCain fan, this kind of crap is one of the very best reasons not to vote for Obama; four years of hearing “Racism!” uttered as a defense against the slightest criticism is not my idea of a healthy political environment). Obama’s opponents in the primaries didn’t dare mention (much less criticize) links to the Weathermen; they were too dependent upon the loony Left for funding and activism. So now it’s left to McCain and Sarah Palin to ask the questions that others wouldn’t. Obama’s canned response that he does not agree with Ayers and Dohrn’s actions as Weathermen is not the point; for whatever it’s worth, I believe him (although I’m not sure I’d believe a similar denial if issued by Obama’s mentor, Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright). The point is rather why any sane American would accept being in the same zip code with these two criminals, much less launch a political career from their living room. Despite press and candidate protestations to the contrary, Stanley Kurtz of National Review has credibly reported that Obama and Ayers had a significant working relationship since at least 1995 (Kurtz, doing the work American reporters won’t do, had to force a FOIA request to gain access to paperwork on the foundation Ayers apparently groomed Obama to join; the deliberate attempt to hide records from the Annenberg Foundation was naturally not mentioned in a NY Times Ayers/Obama puff piece today). Based on Kurtz’s work, there’s no question that Ayers was far more than “a guy in my neighborhood” to Obama. So, again, the question to Senator Obama: these people are not just terrorists and traitors, they’re admitted terrorists and traitors, and they’re even still boastful about what they did and why. So why on Earth did you ever so much as say hello to either of them, much less launch your career from their parlor? Are your own politics so radical that you didn’t think there was anything wrong with people who assisted your country’s enemies in wartime, or conspired to kill American solders at a dance? What does it say about you, and with the Chicago machine that birthed you, and with the media that’s protecting you today, that none of the above seem to be even mildly troubled by the criminal careers of Billy and Bernadine? Answer: nothing good. And that’s why those questions haven’t been asked. It’s also why those questions matter a great deal.

Before Wright and Ayers There Was "Frank"

Update 5:12 PM, 10/7/08: After reading this article, please go to FaultlineUSA to see comments from Frank Marshall Davis' son Mark.

Despite attempts by the Obama campaign to disparage research into Obama’s obscured past as “swiftboating,” new troubling associations emerge daily raising questions as to why Obama consistently surrounded himself with Anti-American anarchists.

It has gradually come to light that Barack Obama has had a number of long-term “problematic associations with anarchists” that have served to shape and mold his present character. One of his earliest and perhaps most important mentors was a man named Frank Marshall Davis.

Gerald Horne, a Communist Party historian and contributing editor of the Marxist online publication, Political Affairs magazine, wrote in “Rethinking the History and Future of the Communist Party,” that in Dreams From My Father, Obama names a mysterious “Frank” as an early mentor who was a “decisive-influence” in helping to mold his present African-American identity.

Although, Obama failed to provide Frank’s last name in his book, it has since been established by the Obama campaign that “Frank” was the African-American poet and journalist Frank Marshall Davis, who moved from Chicago to Honolulu in 1948 “at the suggestion of his good friend Paul Robeson.” Robeson was a famous African-American actor, civil rights activist, and a member of the American Communist Party. It would appear that Davis, also a member of the American Communist Party, had considerable influence on Obama; an influence which continued through several formative years. Additionally, it has been suggested by Horne that Obama’s move to Chicago was an attempt to retrace the steps of Davis.

Obama’s recollections of “Frank” in Dreams From My Father was that of a black male role model introduced to him by his grandfather, Stanley Dunhan. Davis, who died in 1987, shows up as “Frank” in several places in Obama’s book primarily because he gave Obama a great deal of advice on life and on race-relations.

In mid September, The O’Reilly Factor interviewed, David Fredosso, author of The Case Against Barack Obama. Fredosso told O’Reilly that according to congressional testimony Davis came to Hawaii from Chicago to help the communists take over the NAACP. According to Obama’s admission in his book, Davis gave Obama advice to “never quite fully trust white people,” and “not to become a race-traitor when he goes to college.”

Joshua Muravchik in writing “Obama's Leftism” for the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research, points out that Davis was a long-term Communist party member who remaned active “also when it officially dissolved and went underground in the 1950's.”

Muravchik quotes Obama’s own words about his selection of associates, and points out that to Obama and his colleagues and mentors, the term “community organizer” was a euphemism for professional radical!

“ . . .to avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets . . ."

Accuracy in Media has an explosive article by Cliff Kincaid, written in February 2008, “Obama’s Communist Mentor.” The article attempts to answer the dangerous question, Is “coalition politics” at work in Obama’s rise to power?

John Edgar Tidwell, the editor of books by Davis, confirmed that Davis was a communist. Kincaid wrote:

In addition to Tidwell's book, Black Moods: Collected Poems of Frank Marshall Davis, confirming Davis's Communist Party membership, another book, The New Red Negro: The Literary Left and African American Poetry, 1930-1946, names Davis as one of several black poets who continued to publish in CPUSA-supported publications after the 1939 Hitler-Stalin non-aggression pact. . . Dr. Kathryn Takara, a professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa who also confirms that Davis is the "Frank" in Obama's book, did her dissertation on Davis and spent much time with him between 1972 until he passed away in 1987. . .

Kincaid also refers to the work of Trevour Loudon, of New Zealand, who has been analyzing the political forces behind Obama’s meteoric rise from obscurity. Loudon refers to a letter to the CPUSA from a supporter, Frank Chapman, “hailing the Illinois senator’s victory in the Iowa caucuses.”

"Obama's victory was more than a progressive move; it was a dialectical leap ushering in a qualitatively new era of struggle," Chapman wrote. "Marx once compared revolutionary struggle with the work of the mole, who sometimes burrows so far beneath the ground that he leaves no trace of his movement on the surface. This is the old revolutionary ‘mole,' not only showing his traces on the surface but also breaking through."

Townhall Columnist Frank J. Gaffney Jr. wrote “A World Without America,” which also points to the work of Cliff Kincaid in identifying Davis, who was under FBI surveillance for nineteen years, as a “high-level operative in a Soviet-sponsored network in Hawaii,” which “the communists had targeted…largely because of its strategic location and importance to the U.S. defense effort.”

Kincaid describes Davis as a “propagandist, racial agitator and recruiter for the Communist Party of the USA.”

Intriguing comments appear on numerous blogs and message boards about Davis’ connections to the Washington Post chairman, the late Katharine Graham, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (the labor union that “subsidized” the Honolulu Record, which Davis wrote for), the American Committee for Foreign Born, and about Davis’ drug use and lurid sexual exploits prior to becoming Obama’s mentor. One particular comment points to a pornographic novel Sex Rebel: Black (Memoirs of a Gourmet Gash) supposedly written by Davis under a pseudonym, Bob Green.

A new biography of Barack Obama The Dream Begins: How Hawaii Shaped Barack Obama, by journalists Stu Glauberman and Jerry Burris, purports to “fully explore” Obama’s friendship with Davis.

The book is the first to fully explore Obama's friendship with African- American poet and activist Frank Marshall Davis, who has been demonized as a "Communist" by some, but lionized in Hawaii as an ardent defender of social justice for ethnic union workers and blue-collar laborers. It was Davis who helped shape Obama's ideals of racial equality, which would later prompt him to become a community organizer.
