Obama Biden: Two Jets Two Airports Within a Few Miles of Each Other for Earth Day

The gigantic carbon footprints of Obama and Biden grow even bigger today, because this is EARTH DAY. Obama and Biden will each take separate jets, to fly 250 miles to New York. They will land at different airports and attend separate events "within a few miles of each other."

Air Force One bearing the The One is a 747/VC-25 aircraft. Air Force Two bearing the veep is a 757/C-32A (at least that is what this post at NYC Aviation claims). Air Force One and Air Force Two will:

...delay dozens, if not hundreds of commercial flights at kennedy and LaGuardia and other nearby airports as no-fly zones are implements. Jets will be forced to circle and burn more fuel as they wait for the VIPs to come and go. Their security contingents consisting of dozens of cars, SUVs and helicopters wil burn even more. Throw in thousands of commuters' cars and delivery trucks sitting idle in traffic as law enforcement closes large swaths of the city and you have yourself a very Earth-unfriendly day.

Pelosi: Cafeteria Green Lights Takes 10 Years to Repay

 Pelosi actually called a press conference to announce that the lights in the House cafeteria have been replaced with light fixtures of the "green" persuasion (meaning they will save us money and energy use). She spent $140,000 of your money and mine for the fixtures, and expects it to take 10 years before the lights 'pay for themselves' or to put it another way, there will be no return on our investment for at least 10 years.

Ayers said that the price had come down from $800 per fixture to $300, meaning that the lights would theoretically pay for themselves in less than 10 years, due to estimated reductions in electricity usage.

This was termed a "significant savings" that provides a "good return on investment." Is this what we are teaching in our Business School?"

ClimateGate Phil Jones: No Global Warming Since 1995 Says Jones

In a report today out of the UK, Professor Phil Jones, the disgraced head of the world's climate data collection organization, says there has been no global warming since 1995.

Jones, formerly the head of the UK's East Anglia Climate Unit, stepped down from his position recently, as an investigation into ClimateGate goes forward, but Jones did a Q and A with the BBC, and it is astonishing:

He is directly asked if there has been statistically-significant global warming from 1995 to present, and from January 2002 to present. His answer was no.

He is asked if he agrees that "natural influences could have contributed significantly to the global warming" from 1975-1998, which the ClimateGate bullies (Jones' cohorts in Climate Change) said was happening due to man-made causes.

Unbelievably, he says "this area is slightly outside my area of expertise," but goes on to talk about influences from volcanoes and the Sun: two volcanoes - one in 1982 and Pinatubo in 1991, and he states that sun activity is essentially flat over this period. So no, he does not believe natural influences warmed anything. Later in the questioning, he says he firmly believes that man causes warming (the warming that has not happened).

About the "hockey stick graph," well those records are missing, and you know, he cops to having egregious organizational skills. In the Q and A below, the words "hockey stick" are not mentioned, but the famous "hide the decline" is, and that is all a misunderstanding after his emails were taken out of context.

How confident are you that warming has taken place and that humans are mainly responsible?

I'm 100% confident that the climate has warmed. As to the second question, I would go along with IPCC Chapter 9 - there's evidence that most of the warming since the 1950s is due to human activity.

When asked about the ClimateGate emails, he insists they were taken out of context. When asked why he asked a colleague to delete emails about an IPCC assessment report, he says the email was sent out of "frustration."

When asked how much faith he has in the Yamal tree ring data from Siberia, he said he believes the data is sound, but noted his colleague Keith Briffa has said he thinks something is "amiss with the Yamal tree-ring data."

I've read through Briffa's "validity of the published Yamal tree-ring chronology" and I don't find him indicating that something might be amiss, but then, I'm not a scientist. However, he does admit that ommiting some of the trees he used, and adding some trees that Steve McIntyre at Climate Audit suggested to replace his trees, would be done today under their "current practice."

In otherwords, they have changed their methods (maybe because something was amiss), and today, McIntyre's trees would be used, and no warming would be indicated. I believe the bottomline of the Yamal tree ring, for someone miles below the novice level, is McIntyre may have believed Briffa used trees from an area where trees were increasing in quantity (indicating warming) but did not use trees from areas in Russia where there was no increase.

When asked if he agrees that "the debate on climate change is over," he said no.

When asked about intimation in the emails that he was trying to subvert the the process of peer review, in an effort to influence editors, he said: "I do not accept that."

When asked where he draws the line on the handling of data, and does he accept that he crossed the line, he said that is a matter for independent review.

When asked if he expects to return to the position of director of the Climate Research Unit, he said "the question is not for me to answer."

He also said his life, since the emails were leaked, had been awful.

IPCC ClimateGate Grows: Counterfeit Claim about Netherlands: Satellite Weather Shows Cooling

Yet another counterfeit claim in the UN's IPCC 2007 report on climate change, now known to be ClimateGate, and it just may "invalidate all claims that the last decades were the hottest ever," said a Dutch official. The IPCC report is used to make national climate policy in the Netherlands, and at least one error has Dutch officials enraged. In the US American researchers are also pointing out that satellite weather stations show the earth's temperature cooling for the last 9 years.

The IPCC report claimed that 55 percent of the Netherlands are below sea level, when the Dutch say only 20 percent meets that criteria:

The incorrect figures which date back to 2007 were revealed on Wednesday by the weekly Vrij Nederland. The Dutch Environmental Assessment Agency told reporters that the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) added together two figures supplied by the agency: the area of the Netherlands which is below sea-level and the area which is susceptible to flooding. In fact, these areas overlap, so the figures should not have been combined to produce the 55 percent quoted by the IPCC.

We have to ask how so many data points in the United Nation's work can be so wrong. The answer seems to be that officials simply lie. Their deception is extraordinary, but then the money they receive for proving global warming is also extraordinary:

Another IPCC Humiliation: IPCC Uses Student Dissertation and Magazine Article

This time, we go to data for mountain ice in the Andes, Alps and Africa, having already thoroughly discredited data on the Himalayans. Our source today is a geography student's dissertation for a Masters equivalent in Switzerland, and a mountain climbing magazine article written with anecdotal data from "mountaineers." The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) liked what it read, and decided to use them both as "authoratative assessment[s] of scientific evidence on climate change." The Sunday Telegraph claims credit for the discovery:

But neither the dissertation or the magazine article cited as sources for this information were ever subject to the rigorous scientific review process that research published in scientific journals must undergo....

Experts claim that loss of ice climbs are a poor indicator of a reduction in mountain ice as climbers can knock ice down and damage ice falls with their axes and crampons. 

Recently, it was revealed the IPCC used "unsubstantiated" data on the Himalayans, some coming from the casual comments of an Indian scientist, and some coming from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The WWF is an advocacy group and use of such data is forbidden for the supposedly, strictly regulated science data needed to prove that the earth is warming. Perhaps you've noticed the WWF ads on television recently on the declining numbers of polar bears (contrary to the opinion of many, many experts).

WWF data was also used to illustrate "reduced rainfall in the Amazon rainforest," and that data was borrowed from an article in the journal Nature.

Rajendra Pauchari, the Director of the IPCC, cannot be shamed. There are calls for his resignation, but he is resisting.

IMF $100 Billion Green Fund: George Soros Directs the IMF $100 Billion Green Fund?

A disasterous no-climate-change scandal, the UN's IPCC disgraced, a distinguished (not any more) British scientist asked to resign his position at the University of East Anglia Climate Unit - and it's not enough. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is proposing a $100 billion green fund to "finance low carbon development in the world's poorer countries." And guess what? George Soros is likely behind the plan.

From the Wall Street Journal:

The idea seems to be this: The central banks of developed countries would inject capital into the fund using some of their SDR allocations. The fund would then issue bonds to investors, including sovereign wealth funds that would be backed by the green fund’s capital.

So, with no agreement in Copenhagen, the US will participate anyway?

The idea appears to be uncannily similar to that proposed by financier George Soros around the time of the Copenhagen meeting -– though the IMF boss didn’t give him a name check.

How many water systems would $100 billion build? How many DDT sprays would it buy to abolish malaria? How many schools would it build? How many tractors would it buy?

The Wall Street Journal asks: How will it be paid for?

According to Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the IMF managing director, who made the proposal public Saturday, the capital will come from Special Drawing Rights – the IMF’s own currency — held by world’s central banks.

What does "Special Drawing Rights" mean? From the IMF website:

The SDR is an international reserve asset, created by the IMF in 1969 to supplement its member countries' official reserves. Its value is based on a basket of four key international currencies, and SDRs can be exchanged for freely usable currencies. With a general SDR allocation that took effect on August 28 and a special allocation on September 9, 2009, the amount of SDRs increased from SDR 21.4 billion to SDR 204.1 billion (currently equivalent to about $324 billion).

In short, the IMF says they will use their "own currency." But where does the currency come from? The international community is the answer. In 1969:

...the international community decided to create a new international reserve asset under the auspices of the IMF.

Here is a more specific explanation of a Special Drawing Right (SDR):

The SDR is neither a currency, nor a claim on the IMF. Rather, it is a potential claim on the freely usable currencies of IMF members. Holders of SDRs can obtain these currencies in exchange for their SDRs in two ways: first, through the arrangement of voluntary exchanges between members; and second, by the IMF designating members with strong external positions to purchase SDRs from members with weak external positions.

Similar to a carbon credit, maybe? A wealthy person with a large carbon footprint, buys carbon credits to plant a tree in a third world country?

This from the Wall Street Journal article linked in the second paragraph:

SDRs were first created and issued to IMF members in 1969 in an era of a dollar shortage, where central banks couldn’t find enough dollars and gold for their reserves. Now, after a new issue last year, the amount held in central banks around the world exceeds $300 billion.

The fund would then use that money to make grants and low-cost loans to developing countries to finance low-carbon growth.

In the meantime, the people have no drinking water in their communities, no agriculture, no roads, no electricity, no way to combat malaria, but they will have a tiny carbon footprint.

ABC Questions Climate Forecasts: Can Climate Science be Trusted?

ABC News asks "can climate forecasts still be trusted," and follows that with "confidence melting away: doubts grow in climate change debate." Can you believe that?

ABC News points out some doubts and does it comprehensively.The article, however, quotes Richard Tol, an "environmental economist, saying "criticism of climate research has become fashionable. There is nothing "fashionable" about the trillions planned to flow to the United Nations to be used to cripple the world powers. The fact is, scientists have lied. Nothing fashionable about that. Had the science  been accurate, there would be no need for the criticism.

For years, malaria expert Paul Reiter of the Paris-based Pasteur Institute has criticized the warning, as expressed in the third IPCC report, that climate change will lead to the spread of malaria, saying that there is no evidence to support such a claim. Reiter accuses many climatologists of perceiving themselves too strongly as activists who are more interested in spreading an alarmist message.

Malaria and glaciers are just a small tip of the iceberg of deceit. The main science for global warming concerns tree-ring data, "intended to prove that average global temperatures in the last 1,000 years was never as high as it is today." The data evolved into a temperature chart, known as the hockey stick graph. One of the graphs clearly showed no warming. So the scientist, Michael Mann, manipulated the graph.

Roger Pielke, a leading expert in this field, wrote in his blog: "The claims were not just wrong. The claims were based on knowledge that just doesn't exist."

The "US government" nominated Pielke for a seat on the IPCC, but the committee refused to appoint him.

The beleaguered head of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Rajendra Pachauri, is fighting off calls for him to step down. In one of the more recent, disgraceful "mistakes" found, an Indian scientist attempted to set the Panel straight on their data on the forecated melting of Himalayan glaciers, and Pachauri called his study "voodoo science."

Dr. Henrik Svensmark was standing at a podium on the COP15 stage in Copenhagen when the "warming" skeptic suffered a heart attack.  See a video below.

A debate was underway on Danish TV when:

The 41 year old Henrik Svensmark made an awkward spasm/shudder and burst out a strange noise, sounding like a cough. The other participants in the debate looked baffled and he mumbled: "It's my heart," and fell to the ground and the pacemaker kicked in once more and you could hear him scream.

Bjrøn Lomborg yelled "call an ambulance, call an ambulance" and the host and the other participants came over to help the man.

His current condition is reported as "steady."

Svensmark is a physicist at the Danish National Space Research Institute (DSRI), and  director of the Center for Sun-Climate Research at DSRI. He studies solar wind, and the effects of cosmic rays on cloud formations. A Danish television documentary on Dr. Svensmark's theory, The Cloud Mystery premiered January 2008.

Then, the Wharton School of Economics questioned the enormous costs of Kyoto. That's when Inhofe, and many scientists began to  question the science, before taking steps to destroy America economically. This is quite a video. It is not a short discussion, but it a good and important discussion.

On the scene in Copenhagen, where prostitutes are offering their services free to these warming 'scholars,' it is Hopenhagen today. UN climate chairman, Rajendra Pachauri predicts Apocalypse Now.

In the looming shadow of ClimateGate, which exposed the trickery, fraud by fudge factor in the leading climate change research, America's US "negotiator" in Copenhage, Jonathan Pershing says the scandal known as ClimateGate is a "non-affair" and "opportunistic." This is OUR representative on the world stage, and he is backed by Barack Obama. These people never, never let the facts get in the way.

This scare-mongering bunch began their conference with IPCC (the UN's climate change panel) chairman Rajendra Pachauri touting the "hundreds of millions of refugees" expected if the body fails to act, and a United Nations (UN) movie featured "children of the future facing an apocalypse of tempests and desert landscapes" if a treaty is not adopted.

No class among these greenies passing themselves off as credible "scientists," and credible "academics." Watch the effete Watson, making his argument, not based on what is known about ClimateGate, but accusations of "character assassination."  He tells Marc Morano at Climate Depot, to "shut-up,"  "there is nothing "wrong with the science." Morano laughs at the little professor-dude. That's when Watson preens and calls Morano an asshole. I'd love to have Watson's constant eye-blinking analyzed. Watson is a professor at the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia in Britain. He has a lot at stake in the debunking of his own school and his main interest: "controls on oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere."

Chris Horner Sues NASA? NASA Hidden Data: ClimateGate NASA FOIA

Chris Horner, a fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), is trying to take a look at NASA's, probably, cooked climate change data. NASA has been in the middle of the fraud, and even furthered it, it appears. Horner and CEI has given NASA until the end of this year to comply with his FOIA request before suing.

Horner is the author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism and Red Hot Lies: How Global Warming Alarmists Use Threats, Fraud and Deception to Keep you Misinformed.  He has tried for two years, through the Freedom of Information Act, to see NASA's data, which he suspects is fraudulent. Horner believes NASA:

...has shaped its climate data and [that] would explain why the agency has repeatedly had to correct its data going as far back as the 1930's.

I assume that what is there is highly damaging," Mr. Horner said. "These guys are quite clearly bound and determined not to reveal their internal discussions about this.

After NASA was compelled to correct it's data, one result was that 1934 - not 1998 - "was the hottest year in its records for the contiguous 48 states." That could not stand, of course, if NASA wanted a part of the global warming paycheck:

NASA later changed that data again, and now 1998 and 2006 are tied for first, with 1934 slightly cooler.

Horner has testified before the U.S. Senate Committees on Foreign Relatons and Environment and Public Works.

Greenpeace has repeatedly targeted Mr. Horner, by stealing his garbage on a weekly basis, issuing press releases announcing with whom he dines and including him in various other hysterical publications including most recently "A Field Guide to Climate Criminals" distributed at the UN climate meeting in Montreal in December 2005.

 We have to ask what good the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) does? Up against Phil Jones and the British Climate Research Unit, FOIA did little, if anything at any time. There has been good reason, for years, to believe that the leading "scientists" advocating global warming were wrong and knew they were wrong:

The information sought is directly relevant to the exploding "ClimateGate" scandal revealing document destruction, coordinated efforts in the U.S. and UK to avoid complying with both countries' freedom of information laws, and apparent and widespread intent to defraud at the highest levels of international climate science bodies. Numerous informed commenters had alleged such behavior for years, all of which appears to be affirmed by leaked emails, computer codes and other data from the Climatic Research Unit of the UK's East Anglia University.

 Writing for the American Spectator, Horner talks about the taxpayer:

This and the related political activism engaged in are inappropriate behavior for a taxpayer-funded employee, particularly on taxpayer time. These documents were requested in January 2007 and NASA/GISS have refused to date to comply with their legal obligation to produce responsive documents.

We need to put some meat behind the FOIA, because at this point it seems to be useless.

Today may be the 15th day since ClimateGate broke that ABC, CBS and NBC has refused to mention - even once - ClimateGate.

As former Vice-President Al Gore cancels at least one event at Copenhagen and conservative Hollywood calls for the Oscar Academy to recind his Oscar, his carbon credit corporation scam could wane...but probably not.

Three thousand ticket holders planned to listen to the hot air proclaimer. Too bad, so sad. And speaking of Hot Air, they have some great commentary on what this cancellation likely means.

The Los Angeles Times says two members of the Oscar Academy has called for the Academy to take back Gore's Oscar for his movie An Inconvenient Truth.

Roger L. Simon and Lionel Chetwynd, both Academy members, are among a small, meandering pack of known political conservatives still believed to be on the loose in the liberal bastion of movie-making.

In 2007, the Academy sanctified Gore's cinematic message of global warming with its famous statue, enriched his earnings by $100,000 per 85-minute appearance and helped elevate the Tennessean's profile to win the Nobel Peace Prize despite losing the election battle of 2000 to a Texan and living in a large house with lots of energy-driven appliances.

Chetwynd and Simon were prompted to make their hopeless demand this week by the ...

... leak two weeks ago of a blizzard of British academic e-mails purporting to show that scientists at the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit systematically falsified data to document the appearance of global warming in recent years.

Now listen to this...this also from the LA Times - a sweet dig at Obama:

The startling leak [ClimateGate] comes at an inconvenient time, just before next week's United Nations climate change meeting, which will cause an immense carbon footprint with thousands of people flying up or over to Denmark to talk about saving the environment.

These airplanes will include Air Force One with its primary passenger, President Obama, who's returning to the Copenhagen scene where he didn't help win the 2016 Summer Olympics for Chicago, which could do with a little global warming at this time of year.
