Mexican Gunman Kill 2 Americans in Consulate Across Border from El Paso

We hear this week that Mexican drug cartels have infiltrated Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection along the Mexico-U.S. border. We heard that a Mexican Military helicopter "hovered" over Texas homes, apparently with no consequences from our government. Today we learn that two Americans, a  consultate staff member and her husband, were murdered by "drug gang hitmen." President Obama is "outraged" at the murders, as well he should be, but let's face it, if these people can "infiltrate" Homeland Security they can do anything they want.

The attack on the U.S. couple began with a car chase and ended in front of the main border crossing into El Paso, Texas, an area heavily patrolled by soldiers...." the couple's baby girl survived the attack.

Beheadings in Mexico?

A burst of drug gang clashes killed at least 27 people -- including four who were beheaded -- this weekend in or near the Pacific resort of Acapulco, one of many popular with spring breakers.

Beheadings are not new. An organization known as La Familia Michoacana:

...burst into the limelight on September 6, 2006, when 20 masked desperados stormed into scruffy Sol y Sombra night spot in Uruapan, Michoacan, fired shots into the air, ran up to the second floor from where they tossed five human heads on the black and white dance floor.

They left behind a message, written on cardboard: "The family doesn't kill for money. It doesn't kill women. It doesn't kill innocent people, only those who deserve to die. Know that this is divine justice."

LaFamilia Michoacana is described as a "pseudo-evangelical cult," who uses writings from former Focus on the Family's John Eldredge, who now  heads Ransomed Heart Ministries and authored Wild at Heart: Discovering the Passionate Soul - one of the best-selling Christian books in the "Christian Living" category, of all times. From Thump and Whip:

Mexican Military Helicopter Hovers Texas Homes: Homeland Security and Border Control Infiltrated by Drug Cartels

Earlier this week I reported on a Mexican military helicopter that hovered over the homes of Texas residents near the Texas border with Mexico. While I thought that was the story, it turned out not to be the whole story. Shocking to think that another country's military aircraft would "hover" over the homes of Americans. Right? But more shocking to me was the news that our Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Control (CBP) have been infiltrated by drug cartels. 

As violence continued Thursday with a highway shootout in Tamaulipas, a Senate subcommittee in Washington heard testimony that drug cartels are trying to infiltrate U.S. agencies along the border, with corruption cases among Homeland Security personnel on the rise.

About the military from another country entering our boders and menancing American homeowners: The Sheriff said he could not confirm reports that the helicopter "was scoping out the home of a drug criminal, in a "neighborhood populated by many U.S. Customs officers who work at border crossings...."

Some 576 corruption investigations were launched into (CBP) officers and border patrol last year. The agency says they are beginning to combate the incursions with more thorough background investigations and polygraph tests. What's wrong with this picture? Not using the most stringent background checks, possible, from the beginning of the formation of these agencies is what's wrong.

It struck me last week that no one is talking about Homeland Security and Border Patrol being compromised. Where's the chat about this? So far, I haven't found a peep from Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano about the invasion of our sovereignty or the criminal infiltration of the agency formed to keep the U.S. safe.

Top National Security not consulted in Abdulmutallab Civilian Court Decision

The Senate Homeland Security Committee held hearings into the Christmas Day bombing of Northwest Flight 253 this week. Senator John McCain questioned Dennis Blair the Chief of National Intelligence, Michael Leiter the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) and Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security.

In a direct question from McCain, these three were asked if they were consulted about the decision to try the Christmas Day Underpants bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, in a civilian federal criminal court rather than a US Military court. All three answered that they had not been consulted about that decision. That leaves Barack Obama and Eric Holder directly responsible.

From Senator McCain:

...a terrible, terrible mistake" was made when an alleged terrorist aboard a Detroit-bound flight wasn't charged as an enemy combatant and wants to know why no one to his knowledge has been fired, transferred or otherwise disciplined in the wake of the Dec. 25 incident.

McCain said the decision to charge the alleged bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, as a civilian rather than an enemy combatant may have resulted in interrogators being unable to get more information. That, in turn, could "impact our ability to defend this nation."

"I think it's pretty clear this individual did not act alone," said McCain.

Senator Joe Lieberman, Chair of the Senate Committee, was specifically concerned that Janet Napolitano was not consulted about putting Abdulmutallab into civilian courts. Remember, Napolitano immediately said everything went like clockwork - the system worked, and Abdulmullatab's actions were not part of a larger plot and were not a "threat." We have a bunch of dangerous clowns assigned to keep us safe and free.

McCain suggested that National Intelligence Director, Dennis Blair, should step down, but President Obama clearly indicated that the people in charge of intelligence say they will "do better," - he is not firing or transferring anyone.

Dennis Blair  said security officials have been "pressured" in recent years to "pull back from tighter standards for traveling into the country." How does this happen? Why would the Senate Homeland Security Committee not know that the policy for recognizing terrorist has de-emphasized? Government checks and balances are nothing more than policy on paper.Top national security is close to worthless.

Arif Alikhan is Homeland Security Assistant Secretary

Arif Alikhan is Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for the Office of Policy Development. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano made the appointment. The Islamic Workplace says this is Obama's first "major appointment of a Muslim" to the administration. Update 11-13-09 below.

According to derSpiegel, Arif Alikhan is a "devout Sunni." He is the son on Pakistani immigrants. He is said to be in his late 30's and a handsome dresser. He comes to the position at Homeland Security from Los Angeles where he served as Deputy Mayor for Homeland Security and Public Safety under L.A. Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa:

As the city's computer and telecommunications crime coordinator, Alikhan is in the process of hiring new police officers. The job is as big as it is crucial: Close to four million people live in Los Angeles proper, while the metropolitan area is home to 18 million. Los Angeles could well be the target of the next terrorist attack.

There was no commotion when Alikhan was appointed, nor did any newspaper so much as question why someone like him should be placed in charge of the security of America's second-largest city. It was simply accepted as a fact. "I never had the feeling that my religion is written on my forehead," he says.

Before serving at the L.A. Mayor's office, Alikahn was an assistant U.S. Attorney, appointed by, and serving under, U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales at the Department of Justice (DOJ), where Alikahn also served as Vice Chair of the Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Task Force. Mr. Alikahn is highly praised by Alberto Gonzales. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) praises Alikahn also. According to Jihad Watch, the following is the CAIR statement about Alikahn's appointment:

Congratulations to Mr. Alikhan on this well-deserved appointment," said CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush. "Mr. Alikhan's new position reflects his and the community's dedication to helping preserve the security of our country. The American Muslim community can be proud of him.

As Jihad Watch points out, the appointment should "set off alarm bells." I agree. Having said that, CAIR will endorse any true Muslim that gets anywhere close to being up-close and personal with the U.S. government. The only way to keep the bells silenced is to make certain no Muslims are in positions of national security.

CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case. Its operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.

Several of its former officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror.

Several of its other officials have made Islamic supremacist statements. CAIR also was involved in the Flying Imams' intimidation suit against the passengers who reported their suspicious behavior. That the CAIR rep who praised the appointment would be Hussam Ayloush, a delightful fellow with whom I have had several pleasant exchanges, who specifically refused to condemn Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups when I asked him repeatedly to do so, is even worse.

Never will we find CAIR condemning Hamas or Hizballah (Hezbollah). The question is, does Mr. Alikahn, a devout Sunni Muslim, condemn Hamas or Hizballah?

Jihad Watch also quotes WorldNetDaily saying that 13 days prior to Napolitano's appointment to Homeland Security, Arif Alikahn attended a fundraiser sponsored by the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC). I've read about everything I can about MPAC. On the surface, they seem more measured and more moderate than some Islamic organizations, however, Aaron Klein writing from Tel Aviv for WND, makes some remarks that set the alarm bells ringing double time. Notice that the quotes from MPAC come from an MPAC call-in to an L.A. "talk radio audience." The quote is below. Read the entire article at Jihad Watch.

A few hours after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, MPAC co-founder Marayati told a Los Angeles talk radio audience: "If we're going to look at suspects, we should look at the groups that benefit the most from these kinds of incidents, and I think we should put the state of Israel on the suspect list, because I think this diverts attention from what's happening in the Palestinian territories so that they can go on with their aggression and occupation and apartheid policies."...

I would like to ask Mr. Alikahn some questions - the following just to get things started:

1) Do you condemn Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist organizations?

2) Do you condemn the rockets fired from Hamas into Israel

3) Do you condemn the bombing of the Beirut Marine Barracks as an act of terrorism?

4) Do you condemn CAIR's support of the Holy Land Foundation as aiding terrorism?

5) Do you condemn the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole as an act of terrorism?

6) Do you defend Israel's right to exist as a sovereign Nation? Additional background on Alikahn:

Alikhan began his legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk to U.S. District Judge Ronald S.W. ... In 1997, Alikhan joined the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney's Office in Los Angeles where he handled a wide variety of criminal matters as a federal prosecutor for over eight years.

He received several awards from law enforcement agencies for his work and was recognized by the Department of Justice for his superior management and supervisory performance. Alikhan was instrumental in Mayor Villaraigosa's initiative to put 1,000 new officers on the streets, and now the LAPD has expanded to its highest level in history.

Additionally, Alikhan oversaw and advanced the Mayor's emergency preparedness and counter-terrorism initiatives, increased cooperation with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, worked to create the Fire Department's Professional Standards Division and helped secure and manage over $400 million in homeland security and public safety grants for the Los Angeles region.

He was also a key aid to the Mayor at major emergencies including numerous brush and wild fires and the tragic Metrolink crash last year. Alikhan graduated with honors from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 1993. He graduated cum laude from the University of California, Irvine in 1990 where he earned a degree in Social Ecology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice, Criminology and Legal Studies.

Another Muslim, Kareem Shora has also been appointed to Homeland Security. More coming on this appointment.

From Discover the Networks - During his years in Los Angeles, Alikhan was responsible for derailing Police Department efforts to monitor activities within the city’s Muslim community, where numerous radical mosques and madrassas were known to exist, and where some of the 9/11 hijackers had received support from local residents.

Hostile toward Israel, Alikhan is affiliated with the Muslim Public Affairs (MPAC), which has referred to the terrorist organization Hezbollah as a "liberation movement." Alikhan opposed President George W. Bush's prosecution of the war on Islamic terror.

Thirteen days prior to his Homeland Security appointment, Alikhan had participated in a MPAC fundraiser called "Be the Change," to support what the organization described as its leadership-development programs.

Muslim organizations demonstrated a strong unity of purpose and message on the issue of 'mapping' that led to a position of strength for Muslims in the meeting. Those involved in the initial phases of this controversy were the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California www.shuracouncil.org and the Council on American-Islamic Relations www.cair.com , the Muslim Public Affairs arm.

Task Force (AMT) who spoke about "the struggle of the Muslim Community against the pervasive atmosphere of Islamophobia and hatred in the aftermath of 9/11.. It was a struggle against the tide - a very strong tide - to prevent Muslims in America from being marginalized and silenced."

Professor Saeed issued five demands from Muslims to the Department of Justice. These demands included a cessation to the infiltration by spies of mosques and an end to the introduction of agents provocateur. In addition there was to be a cessation of attempts to undermine Muslim groups such as the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). Federal Building Security a Failure: Homeland Security a Failure

Live bomb components were smuggled into Federal Building bathrooms and assembled in four minutes or under, in some instances only 27 seconds were needed. Total security failure! Ten undisclosed federal buildings in four cities were penetrated. Federal building security is a failure. Homeland Security is a failure. All ten buildings could have been blown apart.

Of the 10 Level IV facilities we penetrated, 8 were government-owned, 2 were leased, and included offices of a U.S. Senator and U.S. Representative, as well as agencies such as the Departments of Homeland Security, State, and Justice, "according to a preliminary report from the GAO. Levil IV facilities are defined as having more than 450 employees and "a high volume of public contact."

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) said they were able to get liquid explosives and detonators inside these buildings:

Inside the buildings, investigators assembled the bombs, carried them in a briefcase and "walked freely around several floors," according to a statement the GAO will make at a Senate hearing Wednesday morning. A copy of the statement was provided to USA TODAY.

Read Mark Goldstein's report, titled "Preliminary Results Show Federal Protective Service's Ability to Protect Federal Facilities is Hampered by Weaknesses in Its Contract Security Guard Program." Note that this operation was successful in a Homeland Security facility. The responsibility for the security of federal buildings lies with the Federal Protective Service (FPS). Just listening to a FOX report this moment and a comment was made that there might be no way to "secure" anything when guards are being paid only $10.00 an hour. Where is the management? Isn't there a supervisor over these guards who is paid to constantly review the safety procedures within these federal buildings? I do not buy the excuse that a person "not paid enough" can get by with "not doing enough." Pay the supervisors and have plenty of them. We've been though this before. Doesn't 9-11-01 mean anything anymore?

Janet Napolitano Extremism: Rightwing Extremism - What we are Forgetting

Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, issued her rightwing extremism warning to law enforcement agencies around the country - even after "civil liberties officials" within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) objected to some of the language in the report. Now, Napolitano is apologizing to veterans for characterizing them as possible violent co-conspirators within the rightwing-radicalized.

There are two accusations in this report that have fallen under-the-radar. The entire report is deplorable, especially since the report itself admits there are no data behind the findings. The focus of the anger is, and should rightly be, on the attack on our veterans.

The characterization of our "returning" combat veterans as susceptible to rightwing influence and recruitment is loathsome. Having said that, there are two points that are not in the limelight and they certainly should be.

1) Napolitano says that rightwingers are "harnessing" this historical election as a recruitment tool." Many rightwingers are "antagonistic toward the new presidential administration." In her opinion, we are antagonistic because Obama is an African American man, not because his polices are decidedly un-American. Janet Napolitano has tagged us all as racist, make that extremist racists." A note about this pdf document. Going there just now, some changes have been made. For instance, Page 3 and portions of Page 4 - Key Findings - not in readable form. When the report was first available on the web, it used the words "African American" man. In the remake of this report, those words have been removed or blurred. If they are there, I can no longer find them.

2) While Napolitano ramped-up the denigration of the terms "terrorists" or "terrorism" when speaking about real terrorists, she repeatedly used those terms to refer to Americans. I can tell you, this makes me just about as mad as I ever been.

Other Thoughts: The DHS report "encourages recipients of this document" to report "information concerning suspicious or criminal activity to DHS and the FBI." The phone number is 202-282-9685 or by email: NOC.Fusion@dhs.gov.

Perhaps it is time for us to accommodate their request, and notify them of our complaints of illegal activities by the administration, such as government bailouts, lax illegal immigration policies, and oppression of free speech, which thoroughly thwarts the Constitution.

The AP is reporting that Napolitano said "the definition of rightwing extremism that was included in a footnote should be changed." If you read the report, you know that the words "rightwing extremism" are the first two words of the title of the report, and a quick scan of Page 5 shows rightwing "extremism" or "extremists" used at least five times. Typical Liberal-speak: speak the words and the Left will believe it.

The report says it was prepared by the "Extremism and Radicalization Branch, Homeland Environment Threat Analysis Division. Coordinated with the FBI." Is there a Leftwing Extremism report on the horizon? Janet Napolitano is the extremist. We can label her a Leftwing Extremist. This report needs to be completely trashed. Patriots Targeted by Homeland Security: Patriots are Rightwing Extremists

The Washington Times revealed an unclassified report by Homeland Security and the FBI today, pegging certain Americans as "rightwing extremists."

The nine page report distributed to police (no indication of which police departments) says that even though "threats from white supremacist and violent antigovernment groups during 2009 have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry out violent acts...nevertheless," economic and other anti-Obama mindsets, can spin these "rhetorical" threats into the real thing and...well, we best be prepared for it, I guess, since this was given to the police.

As you read the report, you realize that the "extremists" are patriots: those of us who do not want the Second Amendment breached, those who do not agree with the Obama administration's fix for the economy, those of us who want the rule-of-law followed to the letter to suppress and end illegal immigration, and those who are determined to see to it that this administration, or any other, never usurps a State's sovereignty.

Worse yet, is the accusation that our returning military combat vets might be seduced into joining our efforts to overthrow a government that we do not like, particularly because the head of that government is an African American man. Our "propaganda" will be used to "recruit" the combat veterans and their "skills" will "boost our violent capabilities."

Repeatedly, the report by Janet Napolitano and Homeland Security refers to the rightwing extremists as "domestic terrorists." She refuses to use that word in conjunction with those who attack the U.S., and those plotting to attack us, but she has no compunction about labeling patriots as domestic terrorists.

AMERICAN LEGION: An Open Letter to Homeland Security on ‘Rightwing Extremists’

 Created in 1919, The American Legion has been on the forefront in the battle of rights for US Veterans and their families. The Legion has been responsible for passage of such notable bills such as: The GI Bill, which sent thousands of veterans returning home from World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam to college, helped millions of veterans buy affordable homes, start businesses, etc...

 Needless to say, the American Legion is not, nor has it ever been, a terrorist organization. Until now and the Obama administration's insistence that all groups on the right of their ideology are terror groups. Dave Rehbein, the National Commander of the Legion disagrees:

Secretary Janet Napolitano Department of Homeland Security U.S. Department of Homeland Security Washington, DC 20528 April 13, 2009 Dear Secretary Napolitano, On behalf of the 2.6 million-member American Legion, I am stating my concern about your April 7 report, "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence and Recruitment." 

First, I want to assure you that The American Legion has long shared your concern about white supremacist and anti-government groups. In 1923, when the Ku Klux Klan still yielded unspeakable influence in this country, The American Legion passed Resolution 407. It resolved, in part, "...we consider any individual, group of individuals or organizations, which creates, or fosters racial, religious or class strife among our people, or which takes into their own hands the enforcement of law, determination of guilt, or infliction of punishment, to be un-American, a menace to our liberties, and destructive to our fundamental law..." 

The best that I can say about your recent report is that it is incomplete. The report states, without any statistical evidence, "The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks." 

The American Legion is well aware and horrified at the pain inflicted during the Oklahoma City bombing, but Timothy McVeigh was only one of more than 42 million veterans who have worn this nation's uniform during wartime. To continue to use McVeigh as an example of the stereotypical "disgruntled military veteran" is as unfair as using Osama bin Laden as the sole example of Islam. Your report states that "Rightwing extremists were concerned during the 1990s with the perception that illegal immigrants were taking away American jobs through their willingness to work at significantly lower wages." 

Secretary Napolitano, this is more than a perception to those who have lost their job. Would you categorize union members as "Right Wing extremists"? In spite of this incomplete, and, I fear, politically-biased report, The American Legion and the Department of Homeland Security share many common and crucial interests, such as the Citizen Corps and disaster preparedness. Since you are a graduate of New Mexico Girls State, I trust that you are very familiar with The American Legion. I would be happy to meet with you at a time of mutual convenience to discuss issues such as border security and the war on terrorism. Immigration: France Testing DNA of New Visa Applicants

I don't know about you but I think the world is a better place now that a person's DNA can be used to answer important questions,. Under the lead of a new "immigration" czar, France plans to test the DNA of some incoming immigrants who claim they have family already residing in France.

Eric Besson, who was appointed this month, said the tests would establish which foreigners were claiming visas by making up family ties with those already settled in the country.

Civil and human rights activists are crying foul, but the French parliament has approved the legislation, which will not become effective until and unless Besson signs it. The legislation applies only to certain applicants: immigrants staying for more than three months and with questions about documentation (birth or marriage certificates). Immigrants in this category will be asked to provide DNA linking them to their family connection in France. Officials will "propose" that the applicant pay for the testing. Opponents say that applicants who cannot afford the testing will "have every chance of having their visas refused." Immigrants in the U.S. say they just want a chance at a decent life, a safe place to raise families, an opportunity to reconnect with parents and siblings, a chance for a good job, and a paycheck they can send back home. All worthy reasons to leave one country and enter one you think provides a better quality of life. It's simple, if you want to immigrate to France, and have an opportunity to do so because you have family already residing there, then provide your DNA. The price of the test must surely be worth the chance of a new and better life - or just a long visit with your loved ones. The world is a dangerous place. Have a little respect for the French people who are willing to receive you if you have been truthful on your visa application. Freedom isn't free. Homeland Security: Listen up! This is a great idea.

Herman Cain's Intelligent Thinkers Movement: Where's the Defending Fathers?

"We the people" get one day every two years to change Congress - Election Day. We get three days every six years to change one-third of the Senate. And we get one day every four years to change presidents. The rest of the time the people's influence is pimped by silly and self-serving polls,...

Herman Cain is one of the fiesty "talkers" that says what he means and means what he says. He says he is starting a new initiative to Take our Country Back, and he's willing to do far fewer opinion columns to make this new grassroots initiative work. So one more initiative. Well, that's okay by me because I believe Herman Cain will work it and work it hard. I was energized when I read that Herman Cain reiterated his support of the Fair Tax. Now that's intelligent thinking, and not only does this initiative include passage of the Fair Tax, but also "no new or higher taxes." Here are a few details: The name: The Intelligent Thinkers Movement (HITM - Herman's Intelligent Thinkers Movement) or (hermanator's Intelligent Thinker Movement). What HITM is not: . This is NOT a republican, democrat, libertarian, conservative, liberal, or progressives movement. This is a “we the people” movement. I understand that this is a "we the people" movement, but I doubt we'll get much help from liberals or progressives. KEY ISSUES (NEET): National Security, Economy, Energy Independence, Tsunami Spending, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness I would like to see the letter "T" in the acronym, specifically for taxes - maybe make it NEETS. Let the "T" stand for taxes, and an "S" for spending.

Few legislative proposals move through Congress “clean”. They are usually a hodgepodge of proposals attached to major proposals using a procedural mechanism called earmarks. “We the people” never hear about most of these until after the fact, because they can not be easily explained in a media sound-bite.

This is why bad laws continue to get passed and federal spending has only an upward momentum.

I like the idea of legislative alerts that pertain only to the issues: homeland security, the economy, energy and government spending. Again, I would like to see the letter "T" in the acronym specifically for taxes. I have been swamped by alerts that seem hopeless to keep up with. Perhaps this will tame the tiger and give better and more focused direction. A part of this Movement is:

The voice of “we the people” has been hijacked by partisan politics, government bureaucrats and the influence of money on elections and legislation. To take back our government, we must be able to un-elect members of Congress on a timely basis, and dramatically influence their decisions while they are in office. Because of the proliferation of biased media reporting, gullible voters and too many in Congress who willingly and intentionally mislead the public, “we the people” must be able to provide succinct and intelligent feedback to specific members of Congress frequently and persistently. Then, we can hold them accountable intelligently at election time, which is our only leverage for holding their feet to the fire.

Cain says that "the Founding Fathers did their job. They founded this nation. And most of us have benefited from the constitutional architecture they created." A caller to his radio show asked: "Where are the Defending Fathers?" My answer is that we have none. What we have are Democrats in both Houses defending against our Constitution, and that makes this a perilous time in America's history. Take a look at Cain's Movement and let me know what you think.
