Kenya Draft Constitution Allows Path to Sharia Law: Kenya Explosion at Protest Rally Kills Three

Kenya's draft constitution is under fire for leaving a path open to expand the kadhi (khadi) courts to include Sharia law. Today, an explosion at a protest rally in Nairobi has killed three and wounded seventy-five. Is it difficult to believe that the violence involved Sharia Law? This brings to mind the agreement that Kenyan presidential candidate Raila Odinga reportedly signed to give an organization of Muslims their deeply held desire, that Sharia would rule in some portions of Kenya, in exchange for the Muslim vote. Nairobi Uhuru Park

According to this Kenyan official the rally was a protest against the draft Constitution, which the country will vote on in August.
The blast took place in Uhuru Park in the middle of Nairobi. According to this article, the explosion was not the work of those protesting the draft Constitution:

A prominent backer of the campaign against the draft constitution, Agriculture Minister William Ruto, attended the rally.

"We want to tell those responsible for this that Kenya will not have a new constitution through intimidation, through blackmail, through bribery or through violence," Ruto said.

In 2004, Christian leaders filed a lawsuit against the constitutionality of khadi. On May 31, 2010, a Mombasa high court dismissed the 2004 case filed by the Mombasa Pastors' Fellowship.

Opponents of the khadi courts argue that the new constitution allows the courts to extend their jurisdiction from the majority-Muslim Kenyan coast across the whole country, which they claim will open the way to strict sharia law.

But on May 25, 2010, a three-judge panel ruled that khadi courts are discriminatory.

A three-judge panel said May 24 that the khadi court system, which arbitrates on matters of marriage and inheritance for Kenya’s Muslim minority, is discriminatory as it is based on religion. Kenyan law stipulates separation of church and state, though both the current constitution and the new draft constitution permit courts. A nationwide referendum on the draft constitution is set for Aug. 4. 

 If you remember the astounding news that Obama friend, or cousin, Raila Odinga signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Muslims to gain their support in Odinga's bid for the presidency in 2008, then you can see that this possibility of creeping Sharia Law being a reality.

The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya printed the document on their website at the URL linked in this sentence. I saw the document many times as I was reading about the story, but today it is gone. There are many opinions as to whether or not the document was real. If it was real, it was signed on behalf of the National Muslim Leaders Forum (NAMLEF) by Chairman Adbullahi Abdi and on behalf of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) by Raila Amollo Odinga.

The problem with that document, if it was real, is that it pledges support of Kenyan Muslims for Odinga's presidential race, in exchange for a rewriting the Kenyan Constitution to allow Sharia Law in some portions of Kenya, here are snippets of the unconfirmed document:

a) Ensure that the Coast Province shall henceforth be known as JIMBO LA PWANI and shall have full autonomy in Governance in all matters apart from National Defence and International Accreditation. In addition, while freedom of worship will be upheld [in the area] the Council of Islamic leaders shall be permitted to have an oversight role to monitor activities of ALL other religions and any applications for religious activities and institutions will require their approval. They shall have the right to deny approval to cults and other evil practices. 

f) No Muslim residing in Kenya whether a citizen, visitor or relative of any of the above shall be subjected to any process involving the laws of a foreign country and in particular any Muslim arrested for or suspected of Terrorism or any other International crime shall only be tried within the borders of Kenya and shall be granted a competent lawyer of his/her choice at the expense of the Government.

g) Within 1 year facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court in every Kenyan divisional headquarters.

h) Popularize Islam, the only true religion, in the Coast and North Eastern Regions by ordering every primary school in Kenya in the regions to conduct daily Madrassa classes.

i) Impose a total ban on open-air-gospel crusades by worshippers of the cross in the Coast and North Eastern regions.

j) Outlaw gospel programs (preaching, purported faith healing, etc) on KBC, the National Broadcaster.

 This blog looked into the truth of the matter and appears to have been present for some critical information. He says he heard it sworn swear in Nairobi's Mumuia mosque, that this version is not the correct version:

Now, my interest is not about which is which or what is what about ODM and NAMLEF little secrets. O.K. sometimes it makes sense to first back down from your own truth so as to give room to “that divergent view.” That is why I for a brief moment hold it that this MoU I have seen is not the correct copy... 

Since the ODM and NAMLEF have publicly admitted that they indeed signed an MOU, if what we have is not the correct version, then, for clarities sake, where is the correct copy? Raila Odinga lost the election, but with the help of the U.N. he was shuttled into the government anyway, in the position of Prime Minister.

In 1998, two U.S. embassy bombings (Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) killed 258 and left more than 5,000 injured. The Egyptian Islamic Jihad was responsible - all connected to Osama bin Laden. So who caused this blast? 

What Joe the Plumber Knows that Shep Smith Ignores: Israel

Somewhere yesterday (10/28/08) at a McCain rally, a Jewish senior citizen stepped up to the Mike and told Joe the Plumber that he thought "a vote for Obama was a vote for the death of Israel." Joe said he could agree to that. The story has morphed into Shepard Smith's (Fox News) indignant outrage directly at Joe the Plumber. How dare Joe put that dangerous idea in the heads of silly Americans. Joe said he had his opinions, and McCain could have his and Americans can research and make up their own minds. Smith did his best to skewer Joe and intimated that Joe's opinions were formed from the "hateful things spread all over the internet." Smith shook his head in dismay and disgust and in theory declared that Obama has taken up the mantle of the Jewish people, and no one could be more concerned about Israel than Obama and, oh yes,...he quoted Obama: "nothing is more important than the U.S. friendship with Israel," and then Smith said "Obama would back Israel every moment of every day." Here's the thing: Many of us believe that Barack Obama is not as concerned about Israel's welfare as he portends to be - and that uncertainty is a major caution. Perhaps we are wrong, but if we are, we don't know that, and neither does Shep Smith. Joe refused to give the reasons for his opinions, except in general terms which were: Obama's actions and his associations - and those actions and associations are what Shepard Smith, sitting at his very important news desk, chooses to ignore - or perhaps "news" has nothing to do with his reporting - perhaps Smith just doesn't know the news. While I can't put words in Joe's mouth, I bet just a few of my own observations may be on Joe's list of Obama's actions and associations. (all the hyperlinks should open in a separate window, allowing continued reading) 1) In 2006 Obama published his book, Audacity of Hope. In his chapter titled Race, he talks about immigrants, and says that he is often invited to speak to immigrant groups. ..."I am often quizzed on my foreign policy views - where do I stand on Cyprus, say, or the future of Taiwan?..."

Whenever I appear before immigrant audiences, I can count on some good-natured ribbing from my staff after my speech; according to them, my remarks always follow a three-part structure: "I am your friend," "[Fill in the home country] has been a cradle of civilization," and "You embody the American dream."

Then he discusses the different tone taken as he met with Arab and Pakistani Americans after 9/11:

They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them [Muslims] should the political wind shift in an ugly direction.

This RightTruth post is packed with information, including more Obama quotes. 2) One of Obama's unofficial foreign policy advisors is Zbigniew Brzezinski, the former National Security Adviser to the antisemitic former President Jimmy Carter. Newsweek reports that Brzezinski's name is "toxic in the American Jewish community." The next few items involve Barack Obama's church...and NO, Shep, we cannot separate Obama from his "former" church. He gave his money and his time to further the collaborations and the missions of this church. We are facing an election and many of us are facing these truths: 3) Obama's church of 20 years, Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC), practices the very antisemitic Black Liberation Theology (BLT). The short story here is that BLT leans far more to Islam than it does to Judiasm. 4) Obama's church of 20 years, TUCC, through the church magazine, Trumpet, gave Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam leader, a Lifetime Achievement award for "epitomized greatness!" Farrakhan has often excoriated the Jews as liars and thieves, and is accused of worse, to which he replied: "The Jews don't like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that's a good name. Hitler was a very great man." Obama says he did not agree with giving the "greatness" award to Farrakhan, but in an interview with the late Tim Russert in February 2008, Obama lamely attempts to shield Wright by saying it was the Trumpet Newsmagazine that bestowed the award and not the church. This is not a minor point - and his point is wrong: the magazine is Wright's baby; he is the founder and CEO and his daughter is the publisher. 5) While a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pastor Jeremiah Wright printed the manifesto of Hamas co-founder, Musa Abu Marzook. Marzook, a man of many aliases, is the founder of of CAIR's (Council on American Islamic Relations) parent organization and the Holyland Foundation. The U.S. Treasury describes him this way:

His activities include directing and coordinating terrorist acts by HAMAS against soldiers and civilians in Israel and the West Bank and Gaza. Marzouk maintains relationships with other terrorist organizations.

Wright put Marzook's manifesto, retitled A Fresh View of Palestine on the Pastor's page of TUCC's Sunday bulletin in July 2007. Read the transcription. In the manifesto, as you read it, you can almost feel Marzook shrug his shoulders as he says he doesn't "trouble" himself with recognizing Israel, and as you read it, you may feel ambivalent toward it, but remember this: The Hamas Charter is in tenacious control of the citizens of Palestine and there is no plan to ever recognize Israel - in fact, the Hamas Charters says:

The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews),...

Marzook moved to the United States to pursue a Ph.D. in engineering.[3] After leaving the United States in 1992, he moved to Jordan where he lived until being expelled in 1995.[4] While living in Jordan, Marzook is suspected of having played a significant role in planning and coordinating numerous terrorist attacks within Israel.[5] On July 25, 1995 after his expulsion from Jordan, Marzook was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, where he was detained by authorities until being returned to Jordan in 1997.[6] Following a nationwide crackdown on HAMAS activities within the country, he was once again deported by Jordanian authorities in 1999.[7]

Read more on Marzook. 6) Obama, in a speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, said Jerusalem "must remain undivided." The Palestinian Authority hotly rejected the statement and Obama quickly maintained that he had a hands-off position and the parties must solve the issue themselves. There he goes again...saying what the crowd wants to hear. Naive and immature. 7) Senator Obama has a relationship with Rashid Khalidi, Professor of Middle East Studies at Columbia University, where he and the Obamas met and became friendly. The LA Times is refusing to release a tape of the event described below where much lauding of Palestine and denigrating of Israel is alleged to have transpired. Here's a snippet from an LA Times report:

It was a celebration of Palestinian culture -- a night of music, dancing and a dash of politics. Local Arab Americans were bidding farewell to Rashid Khalidi, an internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights, who was leaving town for a job in New York. A special tribute came from Khalidi's friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking. His many talks with the Khalidis, Obama said, had been "consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. . . . It's for that reason that I'm hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation -- a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid's dinner table," but around "this entire world."... And yet the warm embrace Obama gave to Khalidi, and words like those at the professor's going-away party, have left some Palestinian American leaders believing that Obama is more receptive to their viewpoint than he is willing to say.

Obama basically repeats the man's information...stalling for time, as he often does - you can his deception. Also in this video, other sources speak to Khalidi's antisemitic background, including arranging the recent speech of Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, at Columbia University. At least one of those "dealings" was immensely profitable to Barack and Michelle Obama - and there was Rezko's fundraiser for Obama also. Rezko was raised in Syria in a Catholic home. Ali Baghdadi offered to post bail (his home as collateral), and did post some portion, for Rezko in April 2008. Baghdadi is a pro-Palestinian activist, who GUESS WHAT, has also been published in the Trinity United Christian Church Sunday bulletin. In that article, Baghdadi labeled Israel:

"an apartheid" regime and claimed the Jewish state worked on an "ethnic bomb" that kills "blacks and Arabs."

There are many links to TUCC's bulletin, but no surprise, they've been removed from the web. Sweetness & Light reported it first and has a transcript. 9) Obama's connections to Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga. It's a violent story, and Senator Obama campaigned in Kenya for Odinga in 2007. Odinga agreed in writing the the Muslim Leadership Forum to hand over portions of Kenya to Sharia Law, including an admission that Islam is the true religion, and subjecting non-Muslim women in these areas to Islamic Law. It is a very ugly story...and one you should know if you are planning to vote for Barack Obama. His connection goes way back with Odinga. Obama's father and Odinga's fathers were very close. Fox News says a "leaked" report alleges 219 Kenyan officials were culpabable for "inciting post-election violence."

The ethnic strife took one of Africa’s most-developed countries by surprise in January and February of this year, as roving gangs armed with machetes and clubs fought riot police and set fire to churches, homes and businesses.

After the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate, Raila Odinga, lost the Kenyan Presidential election, extreme ethnic violence broke out and thousands were murdered and seriously injured. Odinga has been accused of flaming the fires of the angry mobs, however, this report does not name Raila Odinga as a perpetrator - but 219 of his party were. Odinga, with the help of former U.N. head, Koffi Annan, was subsequently named Prime Minister of Kenya. Barack Obama's relationship with Raila Odinga has been highly criticized. Senator Obama campaigned in Kenya for, and with, Odinga. Odinga and Obama's fathers were close friends and were involved in numerous political adventures. Read the entire article. How to Thwart the Vote Kenyan-Taliban Style

This is an especially graphic video showing bloody riots in Kenya after the Presidential elections there (January 1, 2008). Barack Obama campaigned in the Kenyan Presidential race for Raila Odinga, a member of the Luo tribe, as is Senator Obama's paternal family. The Hill today, in Police prepare for unrest, report that cities across the U.S. are "beefing up their ranks for Election Day, preparing for possible civil unrest and riots after the historic presidential contest."

Some worry that if Barack Obama loses and there is suspicion of foul play in the election, violence could ensue in cities with large black populations.

Honestly, what this says is, if Barack Obama does not win, it is suspicious. How does either side win with these attitudes? Rush Limbaugh was musing yesterday that America is becoming a Banana Republic. What is happening in this country? What is happening to America's long history of peaceful transference of power? According to witnesses including police and a Red Cross volunteer, those who escaped the Assemblies of God Church in Eldoret, about 300km west of Nairobi, were hunted down with machetes; others hid inside pit latrines. With Mr Kibaki [the President] belonging to Kenya's largest tribe, the Kikuyu, and Mr Odinga to the second-largest, the Luo, the violence has taken on a distinctly ethnic hue...,

Those massacred in the church were mostly Kikuyus. Kenya's other 41 official tribes accuse them of monopolising political power and businesses at the expense of other tribes - accusations stridently taken up by supporters of Mr Odinga.

Update 6-14-10: When this report was first published in 2008, The Evangelical Alliance showed an agreement Raila Odinga signed with the National Muslim Leaders Forum (NMLF). That document is no longer on The Evangelical Alliance website. The agreement would have committed portions of Kenya to Sharia Law. There is confirmation that there was an agreement, but denial that the agreement on the Alliance website was the actual agreement. The question is, if there was an agreement between Raila Odinga and the NMLF why is it not made public?

Barack Obama is well-connected to the top-tier of Kenyan politics - Kenya being the home of his Arab-African Muslim father. In January 2008, Raila Odinga lost his bid for the Presidency of Kenya to encumbent Mwai Kibaki. Raila Odinga is at the least a socialist in the Orange Democrat party, he says he is Barack Obama's cousin, and the most distinguishing mark the would-be-Kenyan-President made, was his agreement with the National Muslim Leaders Forum (NAMLEF), to turn over a specified portion of Kenya to Shariah Law IF he won the election, which he did not. Obama the father, admired Odinga the father, and supported Odinga the father's politics - which were decidedly communist. Obama the son, following in the footsteps of his Dad, Obama the father, campaigned in Kenya, for Raila Odinga in 2006. The ties between Barack's father, Obama Sr. and Raila Odinga's father, Oginga Odinga, are in written form in the East Africa Journal, direct from the words of Obama the father. A bit of research at the library reveals the answers about Barack Obama's father and his father's convictions which Obama withholds from his readers. A first hint comes from authors E. S. Atieno Odhiambo and David William Cohen in their book The Risks of Knowledge (Ohio U. Press, 2004). On page 182 of their book they describe how Barack Obama's father, a Harvard trained economist, attacked the economic proposals of pro-Western 'third way" leader Tom Mboya from the socialist left, siding with communist-allied leader Oginga Odinga, in a paper Barack Obama's father wrote for the East Africa Journal. As Odhiambo and Cohen write, "The debates [over economic policy] pitted .. Mboya against .. The Barack Obama currently running for the Presidency of the United States supported Raila Odinga for the Presidency of his own family's country - Kenya. Yet, Raila Odinga signed documents intended to enslave some citizens of the REPUBLIC of Kenya within Islam, under Shariah Law. Here's how Islam would have worked in Kenya, given the opportunity: The following is a partial transcription of the agreement between Odinga and the National Muslim Leaders. PURPOSE: To establish a lasting relationship between Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, hereinafter referred to as The Candidate, and the National Muslim Leaders, herinafter referred to as The Leaders. This MOU [Memorandum of Understanding] states as follows: WHEREAS The Candidate -- who recognizes Islam as the only true religion -- is seeking to become the next President of the Republic of Kenya; WHEREAS The Leaders recognize The Candidate as the only presidential candidate who has the interests of the Kenyan Muslim community at heart;

There are more "WHEREAS' and numerous "The Parties agree..., among which you'll see this:"

(iii) That the Leaders will work hard to ensure that all (or at least the majority) of Kenyan Muslim faithful vote overwhelmingly for The Candidate at the 2007 General Election. (v) That The Candidate, when, InshaAllah, he becomes President of Kenya will: a) ...In addition, while freedom of worship will be upheld at the JIMBO LA PWANI, the Council of Islamic leaders shall be permitted to have an oversight role to monitor activities of ALL other religions and any applications for religious activities and institutions will require their approval. They shall have the right to deny approval to cults and other evil practices. b) Within 6 months re-write the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared regions. c) With immediate effect dismiss the Commissioner of Police who has allowed himself to be used by heathens and Zionists to oppress the Kenyan Muslim community. d) and e) intentionally skipped f) No Muslim residing in Kenya whether a citizen, visitor or relative of any of the above shall be subjected to any process involving the laws of a foreign country and in particular any Muslim arrested for or suspected of Terrorism or any other International crime shall only be tried within the boarders of Kenya and shall be granted a competent lawyer of his/her choice at the expense of the Government. g) Within 1 year facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court in every Kenyan divisional headquarters. h) Popularize Islam, the only true religion, in the Coast and North Eastern Regions by ordering every primary school in Kenya in the regions to conduct daily Madrassa classes. h) Impose a total ban on open-air gospel crusades by worshippers of the cross in the Coast and North Eastern regions. i), j), k) l), and m) intentionally skipped n) Impose an immediate ban on women's public dressing styles that are considered immoral and offensive to the Muslim faith in the Muslim regions of the Coastal and North Eastern Regions. This ban will apply to Muslims and non-Muslims alike, in these regions and will include all visitors whether domestic or foreign tourists.

It goes on...and then is signed by Abdullahi Abdi (Chairman) and Hon. Eng. Raila Amollo Odinga. All Americans should be taking a very hard look at Senator Obama. His father was Arab, Muslim and Socialist, leaning Communist. Senator Obama has not answered questions about his support for Odinga, or explained his support for Odinga, or acknowledged that Odinga supported Shariah Law in Kenya.
