Honey, I Shrunk Organizing for America: OFA Once 6000 Now 300

The story is that Obama "ignored" his "army" of volunteers and they have shrunk from 6,000 to a ghostly 300. Hmmmm. I don't believe Obama ignored them. There are stories of former supporters inundated with emails, requests for money, and for more volunteer hours. The truth is, his own army now has him figured out and they don't who he is. Good try Time Magazine, but your analysis is laughable. Oh, but reading on I see there is more to this story.

It's like a first kiss...gone wrong:

Several tell Time that OFA boss David Plouffe, who ran Obama's 2008 campaign, is using the cash to rebuild an army for 2012 under the cover of boosting turnout in 2010. OFA is putting staff into such states as Virginia, North Carolina and Arizona, which have few close statewide races this fall but which are all prime targets in an Obama re-election campaign. "This is totally about 2012," Cook says.

Plouffe denies the charge. "I couldn't object more strongly," he says. Plouffe notes that OFA volunteers knocked on 200,000 doors in late August — an impressive number, but only a tenth of what it could do in 2008.

"The popularity of the President with these voters is not a transferable asset," says Jamal Simmons, a Democratic strategist. "I don't think it's realistic that they would ever be able to replicate the unbridled enthusiasm. It's like a first kiss: you can never experience it twice."

However, Obama consultant Joe Trippi says the "army" was, indeed, ignored:

Neglect is to blame. After Obama was elected, his political aides ignored the army he had created until it eventually disappeared. No one was in charge; decisions were often deferred but rarely made. By the time they realized they needed more troops, says longtime consultant Joe Trippi, "their supporters had taken a vacation from politics.

Ohio Public High School Target for Obama Organizing for America Recruiting ?

Barack Obama's Organizing for America is being used as a tool for recruiting students to the alter of Saul Alinsky. Pam Geller at Atlas Shrugs received information from a reader about Perry Local High School in Massillon, Ohio, where her high school junior's Government class has allegedly distributed recruiting materials from Obama's Organizing for America (OFA). Nothing like rounding-up the high school kids - lots of energetic bodies - to campaign in the November elections.

The materials include a Recommended Reading List (Page 4), which includes Rules for Radicals, Saul Alinsky, and The New Organizers, Zack Exley.

OFA is a project of the Democratic National Committee. There is nothing obscure about this group. I've noticed that some think this "internship" is outdated, and no longer available, but NewsBusters found a January 13, 2010 application for a spring 2010 internship application.

The same article shows a posting at Environment Link, dated January 8th:

Organizing for America (OFA) has two priorities: (1) organize support for President Obama’s policy agenda, and (2) build and strengthen the grassroots organization we built during the 2008 campaign by training and empowering people to have an impact in their own communities.  The most important thing OFA does is build support for and educate citizens about President Obama’s policies for change.

The NB post says the internship requires a minimum of 12 hours per week, and would be based out of "our Seattle office."

 

Organizing for America Recruiting

Obama is using our public school system to recruit for his alinsky-inspired private army. Organizing for America is (and I quote) recruiting schools to "build on the movement that elected President Obama by empowering students across the country to help us bring about our agenda"....of national socilaism.

This is incredible. And evil. Suffer the little children -- enlisted like SS youth. This is no accident. Obama is poisoning our public school system. He acts as if it's his own private breeding farm. Once again academic learning  and achievement is hopelessly abandoned, and supplanted by radical leftist activism from the leftwing Alinsky indoctrinators in the perverse public school system.

Read the entire article at Atlas Shrugs and seriously think about your tax dollars being used by the Democratic National Committee to re-elect Barack Obama, as well Obama using tax dollars to indoctrinate,and shape our youth to make Socialist-Marxist government a sure thing in America. Remember Obama's plan for a  Civilian National Security Force? Who but our youth would be a part of this? We must vigilently "speculate." He said it. Let us not forget it.

Obama Grand Junction Organizers: OFA Grand Junction Feeds Crowds

A very liberal news site reports that Obama health care proponents were out in bigger measure at the Grand Junction townhall than those against the administration's health care plan. The same report mentioned that the President's Organizing for American (OFA) "were out in full force." In other words, Grand Junction, CO, considered a fairly conservative community, found themselves innundated with Obama organizers.

In Grand Junction, OFA offered free drinks, snacks, a concert and...free signs supporting Obama health care - for everyone. Amazing that the Huffington Post would admit this. OFA morphed into being when the campaign ended and the Obama presidency began. The campaign energy of the Obama minions became Organizing for America. The organization is a function of the DNC, according to their website, but Barack Obama announced its origination. Think about this again. Obama has a townhall in Grand Junction. Organizing for America (OFA) shows up in big numbers and feeds the crowd, entertains the crowd, and provides the townhallers with Obama support signs, yet the Republicans are accused of "calling out the mob" since the townhalls began. One ad says:

...desperate Republicans and their well-funded allies" are trying to "destroy President Obama."

CNN called Democrats and Republicans who showed up opposing this health care plan "health care plan "hecklers." Yet OFA shows up with snacks and entertainment, and provides the signs! After crowds took Senator Arlen Specter (D-PA) and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to task over specific language in the health care bill, Specter told the AP this:

"I think that a fair amount of the activity was orchestrated. I think a fair amount of it was involved individuals who came without being orchestrated. But it was a battleground," Specter told The Associated Press.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that he thinks the anger some of the congressmen have experienced is manufactured.

The RNC denyed any involvement in the growing movement of disgusted and madder-than-hell citizens who are furious about this contemptible legislation. Conservatives abhor the idea that we need an organization behind us to express our opinions. We grab a friend or two and show up. The DNC deploys the buses, loads up the food, drink and musicians. They hook-up the trailer full of signs and head out. Without the goodies, who would come?
