Pete Stark says Fed Can Do Most Anything in this Country Video

Another classic liberal moment caught on camera. Rep. Fortney "Pete" Stark (D-CA) says there are" very few Constitutional limits that would prevent the federal government from rules that could affect your private life." The woman questioning Stark in this Townhall brings up an issue connected to healthcare seldom talked about - the issue of slavery. Stark, who never fails to shock, eventually says "The federal Government...yes, can do most anything in this country." See the video below.

Bell California sets the Tone for August Townhalls Video

The town of Bell, California is paying extraordinary salaries to the City Council. Robert Rizzo, the City Manager, makes close to $800,000 annually with a population of 38,000. The Chief of Police makes $457,000, said to be more than the Los Angeles Chief of Police, along with others making more than $100,000. The city also has an extraordinarily high city tax. In the video, you'll see the raucous Townhall meeting. The residents show the same clear disgust that Tea Party members feel each time they have to confront their corrupt legislators. What the town of Bell is ripping-off the Bell residents, is likely quadrupled by the U.S. government. Speaking of Tea Parties August is another opportunity to tell the bums we're throwing them out.

Bloomberg says Bell is one of the poorest municipalities in L.A. county:
The city’s personal income was $24,800 per capita in 2008, according to its financial statement. That compares with an average of $32,819 nationwide, according to 2010 figures from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Bell’s general fund revenue declined 4.6 percent to $14.1 million for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2009, according to the city’s financial statement. The city’s expenses rose 2.3 percent to $15.9 million in same period.

City Manager, Robert Rizzo has resigned, along with an assistant and the Police Chief. The people of Bell are not letting city elitists silence them, and neither are Tea Partiers comfortable with resting on Obama's falling polls. Bell can set the tone for August Townhall confrontations if Democrats have the honor to show up.

Megyn Kelly Smacks Kirsten Powers with Facts: Rep. Brad Sherman Shames HimselfVideo

Kirsten Powers IS a Liberal, but this video shows she has partaken of a full vat of Kool-Aid just before a chat with Megyn Kelly. Oh wow! You haven't seen this before, and there can be no mystery about which blonde bombs. The conversation is about the Department of Justice (DOJ) dismissing the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party (NBPP). The video begins with a California townhall hosted by Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA-27th) and a constituent telling Sherman she is concerned about the DOJ and the NBPP. Sherman bring on the shame and doesn't know a  thing, bless his heart, about a Black Panther case, and he is certain the DOJ plans to prosecute any Blacks he finds intimidating voters. You can imagine what the crowd does, then Kelly and Powers provide the entertainment. Kirsten is definitely not ready for the big tent. See related background info below video.

Obama 17 Minute Filibuster of Audience Tax Question with 2500 Word Answer

President Obama addressed the employees of a Charlotte, North Carolina battery manufacturer...still talking about health care. An employee named 'Doris' stood and asked him a question which gave him the perfect out. He talked for the next 17 minutes in a 2500 word response and never did answer her question. The man filibustered his own audience. As he droned on, some people in the back of the room left. Convenient for him. How many questions did he duck in those 17 minutes? See if you can find an answer to Doris' straight-forward question. [Note that our uninsured is up from his 30 million claim to 50 million].

[Is it a] 'wise decision to add more taxes to us with the health care....""We are over-taxed as it is," Doris said bluntly.
Obama started out feisty. "Well, let's talk about that, because this is an area where there's been just a whole lot of misinformation, and I'm going to have to work hard over the next several months to clean up a lot of the misapprehensions that people have," the president said.
He then spent the next 17 minutes and 12 seconds lulling the crowd into a daze. His discursive answer - more than 2,500 words long -- wandered from topic to topic, including commentary on the deficit, pay-as-you-go rules passed by Congress, Congressional Budget Office reports on Medicare waste, COBRA coverage, the Recovery Act and Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (he referred to this last item by its inside-the-Beltway name, "F-Map"). He talked about the notion of eliminating foreign aid (not worth it, he said). He invoked Warren Buffett, earmarks and the payroll tax that funds Medicare (referring to it, in fluent Washington lingo, as "FICA").

Always fond of lists, Obama ticked off his approach to health care -- twice. "Number one is that we are the only -- we have been, up until last week, the only advanced country that allows 50 million of its citizens to not have any health insurance," he said.
A few minutes later he got to the next point, which seemed awfully similar to the first. "Number two, you don't know who might end up being in that situation," he said, then carried on explaining further still.
"Point number three is that the way insurance companies have been operating, even if you've got health insurance you don't always know what you got, because what has been increasingly the practice is that if you're not lucky enough to work for a big company that is a big pool, that essentially is almost a self-insurer, then what's happening is, is you're going out on the marketplace, you may be buying insurance, you think you're covered, but then when you get sick they decide to drop the insurance right when you need it," Obama continued, winding on with the answer.
Halfway through, an audience member on the riser yawned.
But Obama wasn't finished. He had a "final point," before starting again with another list -- of three points. Read it all at The Washington Post.

Steve Israel Shouted Down at Townhall: Stop Printing Money

Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) stood in front of his health care Townhall and listened to shouts of "stop printing money." The good news is, this was in New York's second district, which includes Long Island. See video below.

Steve Israel

According to this report, Israel's audience of about 450, was largely against the administration's health care reform bills. Someone asked why tort reform was not part of reform. Chants of "tort reform" followed.

When asked if abortions would be paid for through health care reform, Israel told them not if they chose an insurance plan that banned payments for the procedure. What?

What the people are facing is a government wanting to pay for abortion - advocating paying for abortion. These are sad days for this country. Israel apparently didn't inform his audience that they will lose their private insurance if they change jobs. The option for private insurance is completely lost for new employment - and the government option is your only future - for the rest of your life. He apparently didn't mention that government plans to be the single payer, and the plan to put insurance companies out of business.

Israel was told he was a "moron." He was told the crowd didn't "care what you think," he was called a "liar." Israel pleaded with the crowd to "listen." This was a serious crowd of Townhallers.

This district was previously represented by Republican conservative Rick Lazio who stepped down in a losing bid for the senate. This district was gerrymandered in 2002 which made a liberal win a sure-thing. Middle-class conservative South Shore was carved out, and the liberal North Shore became a part of District 2. I applaud the seemingly liberal voters in Israel's district for shouting down the lies. It's the only way any of us can be heard today. The video below is just prior to Israel's townhall. See New Yorker's concisely get the message out - and be ignored.

The Tome Of Health

By Findalis of Monkey in the Middle Book of Obama: Chapter 8 In the time of heat when tempers run thin, He came down from on high with His plan to solve the crises of health. Like Moses of old, He stood upon the mountain top with the Tome of Health and said: "I bring unto you the cure for all. Do not read it, just pass it. I command thee to do!" The multitude of the land looked upon Him and His Tome of Health and whispered: No we won't. The Anointed One was not dismayed. He turned to Pelosi the Loud and Reid the Tired told them to gather the troops and force the multitude to love His plan. So they went forth, the Democrats armed with the Sword of Union and the Shield of Acorn. They went forth to do battle with the multitudes who sat down and read the Tome of Health. And the multitude cried: No we won't! This started to dismay the Democrats and they cried out to The One: "Oh Great Leader, Anointed One, help us along! For no longer is our shield and sword working. At meetings of towns and villages they are not effective. The more we call the multitude names, the louder their cries become. They have read the Tome of Health and do not like what they have read. A single payer, public option is not what they want or desire. Yet it is Your wish, Anointed One, and Thy will be done. Though it will cost us the election in 2010. And the multitude screamed: No We Won't! The Anointed One let out a sigh. "I will see to it. I will attend the towns in Hampshire the New and in the Mountains of Montana. There I will convince the multitude to accept the Tome of Health." And there was great rejoicing amongst the Democrats. He took up the Sword of Union and Shield of Acorn and journeyed to Hampshire the New. With His loyal follower comprising of the congregation He presented The Tome. All was working according to plan, even the young child's question brought the press to His side. Off to the Mountains of Montana, His stride was upbeat, then came the cries of fowl for the multitude had discovered the child who spoke her question was a weed. The child's mother worked for Him, wrote out her question too. All His hard work was not going to help at all. The Sword of Union was dull and rusty. The Shield of Acorn was corrupt and coming apart at the seams. Outside the hall the multitude was screaming: No We Won't! He went on to the Vineyard of Martha with His wife and two children. A happy vacation was not on the menu. All through the heat of the Summer in villages and towns, the multitude fought hard and the Democrats were on the run. Just when things looked bleak, His Presidency a failure, a miracle occurred. Teddy the Lecher, of Camelot fame, the author of the Tome, died and became the rallying cry of them all. For Teddy we will do it! Pelosi the Loud proclaimed. We will ram it through the Congress, and call it by his name. Teddy's bill it is now called. Soon to become law. For the Lecher they will do it, and disregard the multitude once and for all. This will save My Presidency! The Anointed One exclaimed. Let Us exalt our dear Teddy who has saved the day. Through out the land a rumbling was heard. From the cities, towns and villages it was felt by all. Who cares what the multitude thinks cried the Democrats. We have the votes, the will and Teddy's Bill will pass. What can you do? You are nothing but a voice. You have no power. This is our choice. But the rumbling did not die. For the multitude had become a great voice. They stood on the mountain tops and in a loud voice: There is much we can do. We are not alone. We have a great voice. You have won this battle, but the war is not lost. We will organize, become stronger. Then you will have to listen to our voice. The Democrats just laughed. You are racists, and bores. We have The Anointed One leading us, He has given us Hope and Change. You have nothing at all. But the multitude had seen the signs. His approval ratings were dropping, they knew He couldn't last. With a loud voice they screamed so the whole world would hear:

YES WE CAN! JUST WAIT UNTIL NOVEMBER 2010!!!

David Hedrick is Marine Vet at Brian Baird Townhall

David Hedrick is a Marine Vet who had an important lesson for Congressman Brian Baird (D-WA-3rd) at his recent Townhall gathering. This is the lesson for politicians of both parties. See video below.

Brian Baird
God bless David Hedrick for serving our country and explaining the commitment to the U.S. Constitution to those privileged to serve us in Congress, in this case, Brian Baird. Watch as Conservatives cheer, but many, many Liberals remain seated. What is it that they did not get from David's message. How ignorant can a voter be? For an explanation of Brian Baird's "brown shirt" comment, see below the video.

David Hedrick, Marine Vet at Brian Baird Townhall (Video)
Via The Astute Bloggers Via The Lonely Conservative From Clark County Conservative by Lew Waters, August 6, 2009:
Articles in multiple news sources today quote Baird’s expression of fear as he states, “extremists would have the chance to shout and make YouTube videos.”
In that regard, Baird then said, “What we’re seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics. I mean that very seriously.”
Brown shirts, I’m sure you recall were a paramilitary organization of Germany’s Nazi Party that played a key role in Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in the 1920s and 1930s.
Instead of addressing constituents real and honest concerns over the proposed healthcare reform, he labels us Nazi’s, then ducks and hides.
Did we elect him for this? No!
In announcing a “secret schedule” for a telephone conference in lieu of a Town hall, should you be fortunate enough to be invited and actually be by your phone if called, Baird said, “There is this national movement in blogs and on the Internet to go to town hall meetings solely to attack people. One colleague of mine recently was hung in effigy at a town hall meeting. Others needed police escorts.”
Seems I recall no concerns over protesters who disrupted Town halls of Republicans around the country and liberals even applauded an Iraqi throwing a shoe at President Bush at a news conference there.
Brian, if it didn’t cross your mind, voters can hang you in effigy any time. We don’t need a town hall for that. That is what effigy is, an expression of opposition without causing any harm to the individual.
Then again, wasn’t hanging Sarah Palin in effigy during last years campaign an “expression of free speech?”
Transcript of video coming later today.

Katie Couric Fear and Ignorance Video: Couric Townhalls a Sideshow

CBS' Katie Couric treats us to a page from her "notebook," which polls say no one cares about these days. Townhalls are a "sideshow," she says, and "fear and ignorance" reign.

Katie Couric
Couric quotes a man at one of Senator Arlen Specter's Townhall's saying that the healthcare legislation "has awakened a sleeping giant," Couric can't let that man's opinion have an ounce of respect. "Not exactly" she says. What it has done is "stirred a hornets nest." To Couric, conservatives are certainly not giants, they are hornets. "Disturbing attitudes and emotions that have nothing to do with policy," perky Katie tell us, is what conservative opinions are all about. We are "drowning out serious debate," in our Townhall "sideshows." I hope she keeps talking. We know from the polls the more she talks the lower her ratings go. Consider this, conservative authors are discussing conservative issues, and who is at the top of the best selling non-fiction book category: Michelle Malkin's Culture of Corruption, Mark Levine's Liberty and Tyranny, and Glen Beck's Common Sense. Yes, I think a sleeping giant is awakening, if not erupting. See the video here.

Roxana Mayer is Sheila Jackson Lee Fake Doctor

Sheila Jackson Lee rudely talks on a cell phone while a cancer survivor asks a question at a Townhall meeting about the health care bill threatening our health care. Oh, and by the way, she meets and greets a fake doctor, then hugs the same physician and asks the audience to give the fake physician, a Pediatric Primary Care doctor, Roxana Mayer, a hand. Roxana Mayer is Sheila Jackson Lee's fake doctor.

Roxana Mayer (R) - Sheila Jackson Lee (L)

The short story is that Roxana Mayer was a Texas delegate for Obama. She admitted that she is not a physician. Patterico's Pontifications has the whole story. Read the email exchange between the blog's Patrick Frey and Roxana Mayer here. Patrick asks her if she "plays a physician at townhalls?" Follow the links to all of Patterico's posts on Sheila Jacson Lee and Roxana Mayer. Here's a snipped of info about the "not a doctor" Roxana Mayer:
[UPDATE 8-14-09:] Mayer has admitted to me that she was invited to the town hall meeting via a listserv message sent by a radical Obama supporter who ran an Obama campaign office that displayed a Che Guevara poster.

Sheila Jackson Lee Talks on Phone: Sheila Jackson Lee Townhall Talker (Video)

Sheila Jackson Lee is famous for her lack of respect for everything except grabbing an aisle seat when any U.S. president speaks in the people's House. Watch her here, as cancer survior takes the time to come to a townhall, gets the chance to ask a question of the Congresswoman - who takes a cell phone call as the woman is speaking.

Honestly Texans, does this make you proud? See also: Roxana Mayer is Sheila Jackson Lee Fake Townhall Doctor Michelle Malkin: Selective Outrage of the MSM
