An interesting short revelation coming via George W. Bush's new book, Decision Points. The president thought United 93 was brought down in the field in Pennsylvania, after being shot down on his orders.
George W. Bush
Of course, that is not what happened. Passengers stormed the cockpit after learning of the two attacks on the World Trade Towers, and the plane crashed during the fight that ensued.
Bush issued the order to shoot down any hijacked flight that day. Think of the anguish of believing you ordered innocent Americans to die. How he felt after learning the truth is not mentioned in this tease of the coming release of Decision Points on November 9th.

Two F-15 military jets are escorting a commercial passenger jet to New York's JFK airport. Fox's Trace Gallagher is reporting that a passenger plane from the United Arab Emirates IS scheduled into JFK from Yemen - ALTHOUGH, he has no confirmation that the flight escorted is a UAE flight from Yemen. Update: Shep Smith at Fox has just confirmed that the escorted flight is the UAE flight from Yemen. Some rumors that a package from Yemen may be on the flight.
A Sky West Flight departing from Helena, Montana has landed in Salt Lake City, away from the terminal, with reports of an incendiary device aboard. Forty-six people are aboard. Fox is showing the plane on the tarmac with emergency workers. Passengers have deplaned. The Sky West Flight 4653 is a connector flight working under Delta. Salt Lake City was the original destination. Updates and more details as available.
bit.ly/aZo5NY Update 10:50 CDT:
Still looking for an incendiary device on the plane. All baggage is off and being search. New bomb search team brought in. Source Fox News report.
Update:
According to a Salt Lake Airport official, Barbara Gann, a threatening call was made saying there was an incendiary device aboard, and according to Gann, that means a bomb.

Two Yemen men living legally in the U.S. were removed from a United Flight today. Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi of Detroit, Michigan and Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Hezam al Murisi were allowed to board the United flight at Chicago's O'Hare airport last night even though "security concerns surrounded" one of them. In the video below you can see the two men taken off the flight in Amsterdam in handcuffs.
It's a bizarre story that U.S. officials seems ready to tell us has no connection to terrorism. The story at this time is that the two men do not know each other and just happened to be on the same flight from Chicago to Amsterdam - both boarding in Birmingham, Alabama. Both men's luggage ended up on a flight different than the flight they were flying on. The luggage had watches, and an empty bottle with three cell phones taped to it, at least one box cutter and three large knives. According to ABC News, U.S. officials describe the odd items in the luggage as "mock bombs."
Airport security screeners in Birmingham, Alabama first stopped al Soofi and referred him to additional screening because of what officials said was his "bulky clothing.
In addition, officials said, al Soofi was found to be carrying $7,000 in cash and a check of his luggage found a cell phone taped to a Pepto-Bismol bottle, three cell phones taped together, several watches taped together, a box cutter and three large knives. Officials said there was no indication of explosives and he and his luggage were cleared for the flight from Birmingham to Chicago O'Hare.
Despite the items found in the luggage, the Birmingham airport cleared them for the flight to O'Hare. When the flight arrived in Chicago, officials learned that al Soofi intentionally sent his luggage on a different flight to Washington's Dulles airport, connecting to Dubai and then Yemen. Al Soofi did not try to board the flight to D.C.
The U.S. does not expect to charge the men, a law enforcement official said. The two men arrested in Amsterdam - both traveling to Yemen - did not know each other and were not traveling together, a U.S. government official said...
Al Soofi was supposed to fly from Chicago to Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia and then on to Dubai, one of the officials said. But when he got to Chicago he changed his travel plans to take a direct flight to Amsterdam, while his luggage went on to Virginia.
Al Murisi also changed his travel plans in Chicago to take a direct flight to Amsterdam, raising suspicion among U.S. officials.
Dutch officials say they detained the men at the request of the U.S., and are holding them on "suspicion of a conspiracy to a terrorist criminal act." If the men cannot be charged for perpetrating the equal of "fire" in a crowded theatre, then passengers have never have a chance of boarding a flight without drama.
John Brennan, Obama's Deputy National Security Adviser for Homeland Security and Counterrorism is caught once again shilling for the enemy and making al-Qaeda and jihad the victim. Not only is he caught and publicly exposed by the Washington Times, Brennan is furious about it - so furious that he challenges the Washington Times saying some terrorists have the opportunity to become "Westerners." Brennan talks about the arrogance of calling the West an "opportunity." Talk about arrogance, Brennan has sooommmme arrogance and sooommmme loathing of Western liberty in this contentious video below.
John Brennan
This story has a few layers. A June 11th editorial at the Washington Times said a Brennan speech in May 2010 made "Terrorists the real victim?". Brennan said
Mr. Brennan also asserted that "violent extremists" are victims of "political, economic and social forces." This dense statement implies that counterterrorism should focus not on terrorists themselves but the underlying causes that purportedly "victimized" them.... Making terrorists into victims also legitimates their grievances, which is a strange way to fight them....
Mr. Brennan also has been waging his own crusade on jihad. He claims "jihad is a holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or one's community, and there is nothing holy or legitimate or Islamic about murdering innocent men, women and children....." But jihad also can mean the violent struggle against non-Muslims for the defense or extension of the Islamic faith, something known as the "lesser jihad," which to the United States is the greater threat...
Mr. Brennan's view of Islam as a universally benign force may lead him to dismiss some of al Qaeda's justifications for violence, which reveals willful ignorance. He may maintain that he knows more about Islam than our enemies, but they are dying to prove him wrong.
Days after the Underpants Bomber failed to scorch his scrotum, but failed to bring down the airliner, CNN's Gloria Borger interviewed Brennan. Brennan's scrotum was likely scorched a bit as well, as she claimed six government agencies had pertinent information about the almost-bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. Brennan received a security briefing from Saudia Arabia specifically to warn him about bombers with bombs sewed into their underwear...and specifically from Yemen.
One more story about Brennan: In early January 2010, former head of the CIA, Michael Scheuer, accused Brennan of a career mainly consisting of "ass-kissing." I posted the videos here, but, no surprise...they've been removed from history of he Obama administration.
On August 20th, Washington Times writer Kerry Picket declares the White House wrong on terrorism...again. Speaking to reporters in Martha's Vineyard, Brennan talked about the release of Megrahi, the Lockerbie Bomber from a Scottish prison, and said that early release was "wrong." Nevermind that his boss, Barack Obama played an integral part in sending Megrahi home to Libya to live infinitum with his family after killing 190 Americans, many of whom were college students.
Unfortunately for Brennan, David Mastio, the Washington Times deputy editorial page editor was among those reporters. Here is an example of how the media might actually be a force for good in the U.S. Ed Driscoll at PajamasMedia also has the story. See the transcript below the video.
John Brennan Exposed by the Washington Times
Video Transcript:
TWT: The concern that I have is your comments that we misrepresented you in the editorial, and what I understand the concern is about whether you described terrorists as victims. Is that?
BRENNAN: Yes, it was the one reference you made.
TWT: We have a copy of your speech here from whitehouse.gov, which I assume is the correct speech and the way I read this, and I think the plain English reading is : ‘This includes addressing the political, economic and social forces that can make some people fall victim to the cancer of violent extremism.’
BRENNAN: Right...victim to the cancer of violent extremism. Victim to that cancer as opposed to...
TWT: But, you’re not talking about dead bodies here. You’re talking about the people who fall under the sway of the terrorist ideology and...
BRENNAN: Right.
TWT: ...and commit acts of terror.
BRENNAN: Absolutely...as you say fall under the sway of, and what you say in your editorial was that ‘the terrorists are victims of political, economic, and social forces.’ That is not what I said.
TWT: That’s exactly what you said.
BRENNAN:That is not exactly what I said.
TWT: Immediately afterwards, you start talking about how you’re going to address this, and you say that ‘we need to show that legitimate grievances can be resolved, that we need to have good governance, that we need to reduce corruption, we need to renew partnerships and improve education, health, and basic services.
BRENNAN: Right, but don’t you think those are worth while endeavors? And don’t you think that some factors do contribute to the spawning of terrorists and extremist forces?
TWT: You’re saying that the people who are terrorists are victims of these things.
BRENNAN: I didn’t say that. Read what I said literally
TWT: We did read what you said.
BRENNAN: And you still don’t get it...do you?
TWT: No. Particularly since, if my knowledge of history is anything, that the terrorists who strike us over and over again are not people who are victims of these things. They are people who have the opportunity to become westerners. They are people who have the opportunity to...
BRENNAN: Opportunity to become westerners?!?! Boy if that is not an arrogant attitude. Opportunities to become westerners...people who strike us wherever they’re from?
TWT: People who are so oppressed, that they have college educations at western schools. People who are so oppressed that people that they have middle class lifestyles even in that places that they come from that are poor.
BRENNAN: Right. They are ideologically driven by a perverse and distorted version of Islam. Absolutely.
TWT: That has nothing to do with their social situation. Their social situation is just fine.
BRENNAN: So you don’t think that people who become ideologically driven are influenced at all by the political, social, and economic forces of their environment? You’re saying that they do this irrespective of their environment...of those social, political, and economic forces that are out there?
TWT: You’re not accurately describing their environment.
American Airlines Flight 24 was ready for take-off at the San Francisco airport when someone called by phone in a threat against the flight. AA Flight 24 was moved to a remote area of the facility. Passengers will be interviewed and rescreened, as as the plane is swept by local security for suspicious devices. The flight's destination is New York's JFK Airport. The story is breaking. More as available. SourceNote that two passengers said the couple removed from the flight had Pakistani passports. See more below.
The flight was scheduled to depart San Francisco at 7:30 a.m. PST this morning, so this has been a very long day for passengers.
At 2:46 p.m. CDT - this minute - Fox is showing passengers just being removed from plane to busses.
The TSA says the threat was not of a hijacking (heard on Fox News)
Update: Two passengers, a man and a woman sitting on one of the back rows of the flight were taken into custody in handcuffed (from Neal Cavuto 3:50 CDT). The New York Post apparently had an article that has now been taken down. The promo on Google said "a young man and a young woman" were taken off the plane" "in cuffs."
From CNN's Just In: American Airlines security told CNN that the threat claimed the flight would be hijacked" but no proof of that yet.
According to ABC News San Francisco affiliate KGO, Alameda, Calif., police said they received a call at 9:09 a.m. from a hotel desk clerk saying he received an anonymous call from an individual with an accent threatening the flight.
"It was a verbal threat and that threat involved hijacking the plane," Sgt. Michael Rodriquez of the San Francisco Police Department Airport Division told .
Law enforcement agents surrounded the plane and soon boarded through the back door of the craft, passenger Matthew Hoffman told KGO.
He and other witnesses saw two people taken from the plane in handcuffs.
"They came in rather quickly and went straight to the individual sitting in the other side of the plane and spoke to him a little bit, asked him to stand up, asked him if he had any belongings with him," Hoffman said.
The couple told the Associated Press they believed they were picked at random and later were released without charges.
The San Francisco police statement confirmed that no arrests had been made in the incident.
Fellow passengers weren't so sure the removal of their two fellow passengers was random and reported seeing the pair carrying Pakistani passports, the AP reported.
"It definitely seems like it was racial profiling, based on what they look like physically and the fact they are Pakistani," Michael Anderson, 20, a Yale University sophomore who was heading back to school, told the AP. "It seems like this was a false accusation."
So passengers believe this was a case of racial profiling? Someone with a heavy accent calls a hotel desk and says a hijacking is imminent aboard American Airlines Flight 24. Get over it. When a threat comes in, law enforcement has to do the first reasonable thing. The young couple from Des Moines with two small children would likely not be the first focus.
The Underpants bomber was aboard Northwest Flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit, the day before Christmas. Ten days later Flight 243 also from Amsterdam to Detroit brought four scary, and rudely disruptive Saudis, all with the last name, all students at the University of Akron, plus one more Saudi man that didn't get suspicious until the flight had descended to 500 feet above ground. The five men went through security and were cleared in Saudi Arabia. They mimicked the Underpants bomber's behavior aboard this flight. Finally via the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) there is information about the men - who dropped from the press like a hot rock - likely because you and I have no need to know, and afterall, we wouldn't want to upset Arab communities. See a video below.
Detroit Metro Airport
The Dearborn Underground has a revealing report posted, taken directly from the Transportation Security Administration. First, a few points. These men were released by authorities only a short time after the flight landed. There were four Federal Air Marshalls on the flight. They were unconcerned about the fidgeting men, and one Marshall spent an hour in the cockpit with the Captain in an effort to convince him there was no threat. Presumably after the Captain "agreed" with the Marshall, the Flight Attendants were not convinced, and neither was the pilot as the reports of odd behavior kept rolling in.
The suspicious activity began shortly after takeoff. Passengers and crews endured these men for the entire flight. In the end, the Captain asked for emergency landing privileges, and received permission. On landing at Detroit Metro, the plane was taken a distance from the main airport area, checked and then sent on to the terminal, where the flight was met by authorities. The FBI was absent.
At "1300 hours," fighters were placed on battle stations at Toledo, but did not take off.
The Federal Air Marshall team leader said he was shocked when he learned of the Captain's request for security assistance on landing. The Marshall thought he had changed the Captain's mind.
Suffice it to say, when a Captain fully expects his flight to blow-up on descent, the Captain was not comforted by the Air Marshall. We know that if the Captain makes it safely to the ground, so do the passengers, and this Captain made the decision to err on the safer side. Three thumbs up for this Captain.
The FOIA documents say the four men with the same last name were scattered around the cabin. The fifth man, who has not been identified to be with the other four was sitting away from the other four.
The four men engaged in the behavior we have heard about on so many flights: they were up and down, back and forth to the restrooms, ignored seatbelt warnings, covered their heads completely with blankets, as did Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. Their hands were covered and they "fiddled" with something, as did the Underpants bomber. Some of the men also put a coat over their lap, and "fiddled" actively under the coat - enough that the Flight Attendants could easily see that their hands were busy doing something. The video below says Air Marshalls reported that the men spoke "inappropriately."
At one point, a Flight Attendant removed the coat from the passenger and put it in the overhead. With the seatbelt sign on, the passenger got up and retrieved his jacket.
Some went back and forth to the lavatory, at times staying a long length of time, and sometimes not long enough to use the facility.
The fifth Saudi waited until the last minute, when the flight was just 500 feet off the ground, then threw off his seat belt and "ran" to the lavatory...and then right back again - as a Flight Attendant and a Marshall tried to retrieve him after being buckled-up and ready for landing.
To demonstrate the quandary:
Earlier, some FAs passed it off as “college kids acting ‘goofy.’” Then one of them recounts how her mind was changed as the flight was making its final approach to Detroit and the cabin was supposed to be secured for landing:
“...one passenger 42D or 32H got up to go to the bathroom. Passengers [in adjacent other seats] had a coat across their laps and were fiddling with something under their (sic) coat.“
At this time we considered this to be a credible threat and landing the airplane quickly with everyones (sic) help became a higher priority. Preparing for a bomb blast was a higher priority.”
Dearborn Underground has transcripts of pertinent parts of the report along with commentary. The point is that these jokers were quickly released to go on their merry way. The fifth passenger, running down the aisle of the plane at an altitude of 500 feet, wasn't even questioned, let alone detained.
We know that not a single one of us would take part in any of these behaviors - mimicking the Underpants bomber. We know there are things we cannot say or do in public places these days, so where is the disapproval of doing a copycat of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab?
Perhaps this was a dry run, so knowing that is a possibility, and having no way to rule-out the possibility, why are these men's names not on a no-fly list? How about sending a strong, public message to Arab men that Americans are sick of this, and authorities will no longer tolerate the behavior. How about issuing an ultimatum: Try this again, and Marshall's will detain you, cuff you and lock you in a seat until landing is achieved. When you hit the airport you will be heavily, heavily fined and put on the no-fly list for a year. Let's do it.

Iran Air 744 flies bi-monthly from Tehran to Caracas, with some stops in Damascus and Beirut, and has been doing so since February 2007. The flight is exclusively reserved for Iranian agents, Hezbollah, and Iran's Revolutionary Guard. A real concern is that Iran is "schooling" the Venezuelan military. U.S. intelligence believes the flight is a secret pipeline of weapons and spies coming to America, and perhaps uranium heading back to Iran on the Boeing 747SP.
Iran Air 744
We are concerned about this flight, and how these agents might get into the U.S. from Caracas, Damascus and Beirut, or how staging sites may be established for attacks against us from Venezuela. Apparently we've watched this, and worried about it for 3-1/2 years.
Current and former U.S. intelligence official fear the flight is a shadowy way to move people and weapons to locations in Latin America that can be used as staging points for retaliatory attacks against the U.S. or its interests in the event Iranian nuclear sites are struck by U.S. or Israeli military forces.
"My understanding is that this flight not only goes from Caracas to Damascus to Tehran perhaps twice a month, but it also occasionally makes stops in Lebanon as well, and the passengers on that flight are not processed through normal Venezuelan immigrations or customs. They are processed separately when they come into the country," says Peter Brookes, senior fellow for National Security Affairs at the Heritage Foundation.
The 16-hour flight typically leaves Tehran and stops at Damascus International Airport (DAM), which is Syria's busiest. In 2009, almost 4.5 million passengers used the airport.
After a 90-minute layover, the flight continues the remaining 14 hours to Venezuela's Caracas MaiquetÃa International Airport (CCS). Upon arrival, the plane is met by special Venezuelan forces and sequestered from other arrivals.
"It says that something secretive or clandestine is going on that they don't want the international community to know about," says Brookes, a former deputy assistant defense secretary for Asian and Pacific Affairs and CIA employee.
"The fact that there is a flight is of course of interest, but the fact that not anybody can gain access to this flight or buy a ticket for that flight is of particular curiosity and should be of concern to the United States."
In addition to speculation about who is aboard, there are significant concerns that the Boeing 747SP airplane might be transporting uranium to Tehran on the return flight. The U.S. government has enacted strong sanctions against Iran because of its nuclear program and there are worries the flight might provide an opportunity to skirt the embargo against materials that might be used for the program.
The major concern is the direct flight from Tehran to Caracas. The "special" passengers of Iran Air 744 "may not even need visas."
The U.S. Marshall's office says it has stored "tens of thousands of body scan images taken in one Florida courthouse. We have continually been assured by Janet Napolitano and Homeland Security that all body scans would be destroyed immediately.
The Electronic Privacy Information Center, a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy group, has filed a lawsuitasking a federal judge to grant an immediate injunction pulling the plug on TSA's body scanning program. In a separate lawsuit, EPIC obtained a letter (PDF) from the Marshals Service, part of the Justice Department, and released it on Tuesday afternoon.
These "devices are designed and deployed in a way that allows the images to be routinely stored and recorded, which is exactly what the Marshals Service is doing," EPIC executive director Marc Rotenberg told CNET. "We think it's significant."...
For its part, the TSA says that body scanning is perfectly constitutional: "The program is designed to respect individual sensibilities regarding privacy, modesty and personal autonomy to the maximum extent possible, while still performing its crucial function of protecting all members of the public from potentially catastrophic events."
We've mused about this. How involved was the White House in Abdelbaset Ali Mohamed al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber's release from the Scottish prison? And was their involvement tied to the campaign donations from BP to Obama? A letter obtained by the UK Sunday Times reports to show that Obama preferred Abdelbaset be sent home to Libya, but not imprisoned there, and a letter from the US Embassy Deputy Head in London, Richard LeBaron has surfaced.
Pan Am 103 - Abdelbaset The Lockerbie Bomber
The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee has been investigating how Abdelbaset was released from the Scottish prison on compassionate grounds, sent home to Libya to die within three months, and is still alive one year later. At the time, it seemed the U.S. did not heartily oppose the release. I remember Obama telling Libya to quash any idea of a big reunion celebration on camera when the bomber arrived home. Of course the cameras rolled and the celebration was big.
Obama received a total of $77,051 leading up to his presidential race in November 2008, millions more went to Democrats. In the summer of 2008, BP was desperately trying to find a way to get their drilling operation off of Libya's coast operating. It appears Libya was holding those leases hostage to obtain Abdelbaset's freedom. By August, whatever deals were cut, the bomber was released and sent home. Rumors were ripe that Libya paid Scottish doctors to issue a terminal cancer diagnosis.
The Australian says the Deputy Head of the US Embassy in London, Richard LeBaron, rendered the letter to the Scots from Obama one week before Abdelbast's release:
The document, acquired by a well-placed US source, threatens to undermine US President Barack Obama's claim last week that all Americans were "surprised, disappointed and angry" to learn of Megrahi's release.
Scottish ministers viewed the level of US resistance to compassionate release as "half-hearted" and a sign it would be accepted.
The US has tried to keep the letter secret, refusing to give permission to the Scottish authorities to publish it on the grounds it would prevent future "frank and open communications" with other governments.
In the letter, sent on August 12 last year to Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond and justice officials, Mr LeBaron wrote that the US wanted Megrahi to remain imprisoned in view of the nature of the crime.
The note added: "Nevertheless, if Scottish authorities come to the conclusion that Megrahi must be released from Scottish custody, the US position is that conditional release on compassionate grounds would be a far preferable alternative to prisoner transfer, which we strongly oppose."...
The US administration lobbied the Scottish government more strongly against sending Megrahi home, under a prisoner transfer agreement signed by the British and Libyan governments, in a deal now known to have been linked to a pound stg. 550 million oil contract for BP.
Why would the White House strongly oppose Abdelbaset's imprisonment in Libya? The letter does say that Obama preferred leaving him in prison in Scotland, but if that was not going to happen, preferred the bomber go to his happy home in Libya and not to prison. It doesn't make any sense unless we see the donations going to Obama as conditional.
The Lockerbie bombing, also known as Pan Am 103, killed 190 Americans, 35 of whom were students of Syracuse University, 4 from Colgate University, 4 from Brown University, 2 from Seton Hill University and 2 from State University of New York at Oswego and 1 from Hampshire College. Ten on the flight were residents of Long Island. Justice for the 243 aboard and the 11 dead on the ground was stolen for a BP oil lease, some political donations and a favor to an Islamic nation. Just a few strong words from the Citizen President of the World, Barack Obama, saying Abdelbaset must not be realeased, would have kept him in prison. Obama hates drilling, but he loves campaign money, and he is a great respecter of Islam. What a terrible, terrible story.
Thanks to David Lemon for the heads up on this latest revelation.
Canadian Air Force pilot Captain Brian Bews ejected safely from his CF-18 fighter jet just moments before it crashed during a practice flight on the eve of the annual event.
Bews escaped serious injury in the crash, which occurred during the noon-hour while he was attempting a slow-speed pass over the airport. After ejecting, he narrowly missed being hit by the plane as it plunged to the ground and exploded in flames near the junction of two runways, according to witnesses.

I read today that Mohammad Ali Hamadeh was blown right into the arms of 72 virgins today, or whatever, by a U.S. drone attack in Pakistan. After being secretly released from a German prison in 2005 for the hijacking of TWA Flt. 847, he went directly to Lebanon and joined with Hizbollah, then to Pakistan's North Waziristan to fight with Islamic Jihad. Ten days before the hijacking, hubby and I flew from Rome to the U.S. on TWA Flt. 847. Islamic jihad was in full jihadi mode 25 years ago.
Hooded man believed to be Mohammad Ali Hamadeh
In 1985 hubby and I enjoyed our last evening in Rome. We had gelati at a sidewalk restaurant in front of a beautiful hotel. The small tables were screened off from the traffic and the gelati was superb. We had ice cream there every night for about a week. We walked back to our hotel by the American Embassy, I think it was the Excelsior, and chatted about how everything was so very beautiful in that historic city.
The next day we boarded TWA Flight 847 and arrived safely back home.
Ten days later, we watched in horror the same flight number on a tarmac somewhere. The flight from Athens should have traveled to Rome. Instead it was hijacked by Mohammad Ali Hamadeh and second man. After Athens, the flight went to Beirut, then Algiers, back to Beirut, then Algiers and finally Beirut again. Eventually twelve additional terrorists boarded the plane.
A U.S. Navy diver, Robert Stethem, only 24 years-old, was beaten, tortured, shot dead and thrown to the tarmac while the press cameras clicked away, getting it all live. Another U.S. Military man was beaten and tortured, but lived. I believe hostages were held on the plane for about two weeks before it was finally all over.
The hijackers demanded the release of 766 Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. Both of the hijackers identified themselves as members of Hizbollah.
See folks, it never, never ends. This was June 1985.
In September 1985, a bomb destroyed a British Airways office located just off the Via Veneto...and our sidewalk gelati spot received a hand grenade, injuring 38 people. My memory is that 9 people died, but this report says there were no deaths. Eleven of the injured enjoying their Italian ice cream were Americans. A "Palestinian youth" confessed to the British Airways bombing, and another Palestinian was charged with the sidewalk bombing.
The heavily guarded U.S. Embassy is less than one block from both targets.
A Muslim terrorist organization, the Revolutionary Organization of Socialist Muslims, claimed responsibility for the cafe bombing a week ago in an anonymous telephone call in Beirut. The group threatened more attacks.
Discover The Networks on the Revolutionary Organization of Socialist Muslims, says it is a spin-off of the PLO, and is also known as the Abu Nidal Organization and Black September, the perpetrator of the Munich Olympic games massacre in 1972.
On December 27, 1985, the same group that blew up the British Airways office and the sidewalk cafe, walked into the Rome airport to Israel's El Al Airline's desk, opened fire, killed 16 and wounded 80.

Twenty-five years ago, did you think of these widely-reports events, as Islamic jihad? I didn't.
A box of forty to sixty humans heads were discovered by Southwest Airlines, bound for Fort Worth. The gruesome discovery was not packaged or labeled correctly.
A Little Rock, Arkansas employee made the discovery. The "heads" were turned over to a coroner, and now the question is, were the heads obtained legally? The "human head" supplier is JLS Consulting of Wynn, Arkansas. The shipment was bound for Medtronic, a medical research company in Fort Worth, Texas.
JSL Consulting lost their license in December. Reasons for the revocation were not given.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) anti-terrorist unit is on the the trail of the limping man with two missing fingers who purchased 1,500 kilogram of fertilizer.
Fertilizer Bombing of Oklahoma City's Murrah Building
Limping Man bought sixty 25-kilogram bags of ammonium nitrate fertilizer in Lincoln, Ontario on May 26th. According to this article, 1,500 kilograms of fertilizer is a legitimate amount to purchase for use as fertilizer, but is also enough to build a bomb.
The Globe and Mail describes the man as 50-60 years old, perhaps of European descent, with a limp and two missing fingers on the right hand.
[The limping man] told staff he was buying it on behalf of a regular customer and loaded the fertilizer onto a flatbed trailer...He was pulling the flatbed with an older model maroon or red-coloured minivan.
Anyone who can help police track down the missing fertilizer can call them at 905-688-411, ext. 4208 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
The G20 Summit will meet in Toronto June 25-27, 2010, at an estimated cost to taxpayers of $1 Billion. Lincoln is a little more than an hour's drive from Toronto. The G-8 Summit is in Huntsville, Ontario at the same time, June 25-27, 2010. It is feared the Summits may be a target.
I think I'd keep my children out of big malls until they find the limping man.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab
There were numerous eye-witness reports of an older man who was with Abdulmutallab in the airport, before boarding Northwest Flight 253. This "older man," according to passenger Kurt Haskell, helped Abdulmutallab secure a ticket without proper documents. Mr. Haskell's reports went nowhere. What do we know about this man?

Stanley Dwayne Sheffield aboard Delta Flight 2148 was subdued by crew and passengers when he tried to open the main cabin door and threatened to blow up the airplane. He shouted "get behind me Satan" at a flight attendant and approached the cockpit door yelling the same thing. The FBI said the incident was not terror related, and a Delta spokeswoman said the passengers were never in jeopardy. I'll have a photo up when available, in the meantime Satan will be his place holder. See new video below with photo of Sheffield.
Satan
"I am going to bring this plan down" Sheffield said. "You need to land this plane or I'm going to blow it up...I will blow up this plane and take you all with me."
Kevin Kennedy, a Tampa Bay Rays broadcaster and former major league manager, helped subdue Sheffield along with 7 other passengers.. They tied him up with seat belt extenders and nylon hand restraints, which he broke, and then a leather belt was used. The flight was diverted to Albuquerque.
A Delta spokesman said the Airbus A320 from Los Angeles to Tampa with 100 passengers and 7 crew were never in jeopardy. The FBI said the incident was not related to terrorism, but I would place money on the fact that there was plenty of terror aboard Delta Flight 2148.
Sheffield, 46, was taken into federal custody when the plane landed at 1:30 a.m. today.
About 90 minutes after take-off, a flight attendant in first class noticed that Sheffield was awake. She asked if he needed anything. He didn't answer. About 15 minutes later the flight attendant asked again if he needed anything and again he didn't answer. Then, as all these nutjobs do, he got up and went to the lavatory. When he came back out he grabbed a 2-liter bottle of water from a drink cart and sprayed the passengers. Then he told the flight attendant to "get behind me Satan." The crew tried to get him back to his seat. Instead he tried to open the main door, all the while shouting that he would "bring the plane down."
Kennedy said he awoke when the flight attendant raised her voice. He saw Sheffield spraying water and "crossing himself."
Sheffield, whose residence is disclosed only as "Florida" was in court today and charged with "interference with flight crew members and destruction of aircraft."
Muhammed al-Madadi, the Qatar diplomat who created a scene on United Flight 663 yesterday was flying to Supermax prison in Florence, Colorado to visit jailed al Qaeda member, Ali al-Marri (full name Ali Saleh Kahlah al-Marri), who was apprehended shortly after 9/11 and is believed to have been an al Qaeda sleeper agent. The reports of a "misunderstanding" are ridiculous. Ali al-Marri decided to present himself in one way, rather than admitting that he was unlawfully smoking - and then he had to be restrained. There was no misunderstanding. The air marshalls got it. The guy was an arrogant agitator - and maybe worse.
Muhammed al-Madadi
Along the way, high in the skies, Madadi decided to take a smoke in the airliner's lavatory. In fact, he took a very long smoke - about 40 minutes, according to flight attendents, who notified an air marshall of smoke coming from the toilet. When al-Madadi emerged, air marshalls wer waiting. Al-Madadi told the sky marshall he was simply trying to light his shoes on fire. The captain was notified and two jets were scrambled. At some point, al-Madadi had to be physically constrained.
ABCNews is reporting that the 27-year-old Madadi will likely lose his job:
The diplomat is on his way back to Washington today and is expected to be sent out of the country soon as both sides are looking for a way to bring the matter to a close without further embarrassment...
Katherine Herridge, FOXNews' Homeland Security correspondent, said al-Madadi will not face charges, due to his diplomatic immunity, and no one is talking about Qatar paying the cost of the incident - like two military jets escorting Flight 663 to the ground in Denver, which is estimated to cost taxpayers about $7,500 per hour.
Ali Saleh Kahlah al-Marri was studying computer science at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois with his wife and 5 children. Don't you wonder what happens with these kids? There seems to be at least 5 to every terrorist. Are they still in the U.S.? Are they attending a violent mosque somewhere? Honestly, the blowback from these people is incalculable.
Ahmed bin Zayed al-Nahyan is Dubai ruler, Sheikh Kahalifa bin Zayed's brother. Sheikh Ahmed has been missing since the glider plane he was in came down in a lake. The pilot was found safe, but there is not sign of Sheikhm Ahmed. See 3-29-10 update below. Latest Update 3-31-10: The body of Sheik Ahmed was found in Lake Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah, near the Rabat, the Moroccan capital city. The family is reported to be frequent visitors to the area and owned a palace overlooking the lake reservoir.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed al-Nahyan
A lake in Morocco, about 20 miles southeast of the capital city of Rabat, was searched yesterday. Sheikh Ahmed is the youngest brother of Sheikh Kahalifa and is not in immediate line for the throne.
Ahmed bin Zayed al-Nahyan (41), is listed on Forbes World's Most Powerful list at No. 27. He is the managing director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. The fund is considered the most "discreet" of the Abu Dhabi funds, and the fund's risk is diminished by holding less than 5% of corporations around the world, with total assets estimated between $300B and $800B. This piece in the L.A. Times says the fund is estimated to have $627 billion in assets and has stakes in Citigroup and Hyatt.
BusinessWeek described the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority as the "world's largest sovereign wealth fund."
Update 3-29-10:
All reports indicate today that the Moroccan police are still searching for Sheikh Ahmed.
From the Religion of Peace exploding breasts for female jihadists. Brit intelligence believes this is in the works. Take a silicone breast implant, implant an explosive substance or device, and it's impossible to spot with any type of known surveillance, other than a "sophisticated X-ray. This is a win-win for al-Qaeda. Once on a mission, jihadists obviously cannot change his/her mind and take these things out.
It is believed the doctors have been trained at some of Britain's leading teaching hospitals before returning to their own countries to perform the surgical procedures.
M15 has also discovered that extremists are inserting the explosives into the buttock of some male bombers.
"Women suicide bombers recruited by al Qaeda are known to have had the explosives inserted in their breasts under techniques similar to breast enhancing surgery," terrorist expert, Joseph Farah claims.
Slightly off-topic is a report of a female airport worker in a body scan unit at London Heathrow who says she is "totally traumatised," after the "made a crude remark" about her breasts.
The same article says that had the Christmas Day Underpants bomber been successful, only "a sachet containing as little as five ounces of PETN could blow" a sizeable hole in an airplane and bring it down. Go here to see a breast implant containing an explosive device, and read the entire article..
Did you fly in or out of JFK on February 17th? A child's voice was heard directing air traffic in a recording from the JFK control tower, one of the busiest airports in the world. How bizarre is that? It wasn't even an official "take your kid to work" day.
Child Directs Air Traffic at JFK
In a recording that has been confirmed as genuine by the Federal Aviation Administration, the child makes five transmissions from John F Kennedy International Airport - with the pilots in each case all responding enthusiastically to him.
One conversation between the tower at JFK Airport in New York and a pilot goes as follows:
JFK TOWER: Jet Blue 171 contact departure.
PILOT: Over to departure Jet Blue 1717, awesome job.
The child appears to be supervised with a controller explaining the reason for the young voice to the pilot.
JFK TOWER: That's what you get guys when the kids are out of school. (laugh)
Employees involved in the incident are no longer at Tower controls, pending investigation. The union said they do not condone the behavior and this is not indicative of normal procedure.
