The U.S. Marines are preparing their exit from Iraq. Col. Scott Aiken will be the last combat Marine in Iraq, as they "hand over" responsibility to the U.S. Army today.
So much about the Iraq war is historic, including the fact that for the Marines, their push from "Kuwait northward to Baghdad and eventually west to Anbar, was the most ground Marines have covered since their 1805 desert march across Egypt to what is today the republic of Libya - a feat recovnized in the reference to "the shores of Tripoli" in the Marines Corps anthem."
In 2008, the Marines reach their peak with 25,000 troops inside Iraq. Now they will be the first to leave, with remaining US Military leaving Iraq by the end of 2011, according to Obama.
Iraqi leaders want the Marines to go, but that's not all they want. They want the Marines to finish arming the Iraqi army:
I am happy that the Americans will leave, but they still have to
complete arming the Iraqi army," Anbar tribal chief Sheik Hameed
al-Ghadhban said. "They have some unfinished jobs to do, and the Iraqi
army needs arms and equipment - they must supply us with them.
Now we'll see if these people can take care of themselves, boastful and arrogrant, as they are. Throughout the war, it has been apparent that from the leaders down to the people on the street, they are a demanding bunch, but they easily absolve themselves for never demanding peace and security from their oppressors.
American officers are more gracious than Sheik Hameed al-Ghadhban. General Rick Tryon, the commander in Iraq said:
The security and stability that exists here is well within the
means of the Iraqi security forces to maintain...You don't
need United States Marines to do this at this point. So it's time, and
it's timely. Besides, he added: "Afghanistan is calling."
Much of Tryon’s mission since taking over last February has focused on
helping Anbar officials attract foreign investors and build up city
services such as schools, hospitals and new roads and bridges.
Of the approximately 3,500 U.S. troops killed in action in Iraq, at least 851 were Marines. Among the first troops in the country, they arrived to invade in March 2003. They saw duty in the most violent battles of the war: Fallujah and Ramadi. Marines remembered being awakened by a loud speaker calling for blood donations:

Another victim has died. The number dead stands at 13.
Hasan is on a ventilator and unconscience. Authorities have not been able to question him.

This man's name is being reported two different ways: Malik Nadal Hasan and Nidal Malik Hasan.
His cousin said on Fox News, that he was not a Muslim convert. He was born in northern Virginia and was born Muslim. His name was his birth name. He is a psychiatrist, and has spent most of his 12 years in the Army in Washington, D.C. He tended to our wounded there at Walter Reed Hospital, completed his internship, residency and a fellowship. there, and was at Walter Reed for 6 years.. He received a poor job performance review while at Walter Reed. According to the Pentagon, he had never been deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. He was to deploy to Afghanistan and he made it known that he was upset about that.
The cousin, in a phone conversation with Shep Smith said Hasan was educated and making a 6-figure salary.
This from a Fox military analyst:The U.S. Army and American taxpayers paid for his complete education.
From ABC: "...he completed a fellowship in Disaster and Preventative Psychiatry at the Center for Traumatic Stress there. In otherwords, this cretin was treating the most severely of our military. Hasan's parents were immigrated from Jordan. He graduated Virginia Tech University, was a member of ROTC.
The same report says that he had a Maryland telephone number.

Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly has granted CAIR a temporary restraining order against David Gaubatz and Chris Gaubatz. David Gaubatz is a co-author of Muslim Mafia. He and his son Chris are ordered to return all documents to CAIR.

You'll remember this week Rep. Sue Myrick held a press conference calling for an investigation into CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) as a result of the Gaubatzes new book Muslim Mafia. An undercover investigation into CAIR revealed a CAIR document stating that that two "fellowships" (interns) had been placed on Capitol Hill at a cost of $50,000.

CAIR memo that documented CAIR's stated goal of placing CAIR interns in
the offices of members of Congress, especially the members who serve on
the Homeland Security, Judiciary and Intelligence Committees.

clear here, CAIR, a group whom the FBI says is affiliated with the
terrorist group HAMAS, is trying to place their interns in the offices
of those members who serve on the three committees that handle national
security related issues. National Security is the first responsibility
of the federal government.
CAIR immediately lashed out against Myrick with claims that she was investigating Muslims on Capitol Hill.
Chris Gaubatz, was an unpaid volunteer at CAIR and found the document, along with others, titled CAIR National 2007 Action Plan, retrieved, according to the court, under false pretenses and "without any consent or authorization."
Judge Kollar-Kotelly ordered the documents returned to CAIR by midnight November 18th and the temporary restraining order barred further use or publication of the material. How is that done when the book is already on the market?
According to WorldNetDaily, Daniel Horowitz is representing the Gaubatzes. He says to look at both sides of the judge:

Remember the 9-11 Commission hearings when Jamie Gorelick, a Deputy Attorney General in the Clinton administration, admitted her nurturing of the of the "wall of separation," actually she admitted to "building" the wall, which kept criminal investigators and intelligence agents from sharing vital information. I wish Horowitz had "shared" the other side of the Judge with us. David Gaubatz says some of the restraining order has already been fulfilled and some documents are in the hands of authorities. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see what happens to Muslim Mafia.
Staff Sergeant Olaf Schmid, known as Oz Schmid, was a British bomb expert. He was killed in an IED explosion as he attempted to defuse the device in the town of Sangin, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Sgt. Schmid, 30, died instantly, according to reports. He was on his last day of duty before leaving for a two-week R&R with his wife, Christina and 5-year-old step-son Laird. Schmid is a legend among IED experts and was recently promoted to a "high threat operator."
British soldiers at war are an incredible group. Courageous, competent, and committed in very difficult condition. An email came today from London, from a BBC correspondent who has been to Afghanistan saying that Staff Sergeant Olaf Schmid had been killed.

The staff sergeant joined the Army in 1996 arrived in Afghanistan in June 2009 with the 2 Rifles Battle Group. His commanding officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Thomson said:

relentless IED and small arms attacks he stood taller than the tallest. I
adored working with him. No matter how difficult or lethal the task which
lay in front of us, he was the man who only saw solutions. He saved lives in
2 Rifles time after time and for that he will retain a very special place in
every heart of every Rifleman in our extraordinary battle group.”
Colonel Thomson added: “Superlatives do not do the man justice. Better than
the best. Better than the best of the best.”
Lieutenant-Colonel Gareth Bex, commanding officer of the Counter-IED Task Force of the Royal Logistic Corps said Oz was "a brilliant operator...we loved him like a brother."

said, they tried, it failed, the government admitted it failed, and now
a new road must be followed. If we had that policy dealing with Iran,
we wouldn't have the Iranian menace today. It's a lesson we
need not to forget. We also need not forget her "tax everything that moves and doesn't move" ideology. With 2010 elections coming, Democrats admitting they tax everything should be a Republican mantra. Not what the Founders had in mind.
The man convicted of the Lockerbie bombings, blowing up 259 people on board and 11 on the ground over Lockerbie, Scotland, may soon be released from prison because he has "terminal" prostate cancer. Abdel Basset al Megrahi is the Lockerbie Pan Am Flt. 103 bomber and he is the only person convicted and behind bars for this act of terrorism. See video below.

The former Libyan secret service agent is imprisoned in Scotland. The Scots may release this killer on "compassionate" concerns. The Scottish government says Megrahi's case is under "ongoing review."
Thirty-five Syracuse University students were aboard that flight on December 21, 1988, with a total of 180 Americans dying in the fiery crash. Arlington National Cemetery has a memorial ceremony each year, and Syracuse University has an annual remembrance service at exactly 2:03 p.m. each December 21st.

Lockerbie bomber to be free from Scottish jail: report
LONDON (Reuters) - A former Libyan agent convicted of the 1988 Lockerbie bombing is to be released from a Scottish prison on compassionate grounds, Britain's Sky News television reported Wednesday.
Abdel Basset al Megrahi, who has terminal prostate cancer, was sentenced to life in prison for blowing up a Pan Am airliner over the Scottish town of Lockerbie as it flew from London to New York on December 18, 1988, killing all 259 people on board and 11 people on the ground.

A Taliban leader with a $5 million American reward on his head is thought to be dead from an drone attack in South Waziristan, Pakistan, but a friend says that report is "ridiculous." Baitullah Mehsud is alive, or he may be dead. See update below. Update 8-25-09 Baitullah Mehsud confirmed dead. Details below. Latest update 10-5-09.

Members of the Mehsud tribe consider Baitullah Mehsud their leader. He is believed to command as many as 20,000 Taliban. So far, reports of his probable death by drone strike have not been disproved. In other words, he has sent no message to prove that he is alive and the West has no concrete evidence that he was hit in the strike but have said they are increasingly confident that they got him, this time.
That confidence may come from the fact that the drone hit the home of Baitullah Mehsud's father-in-law's home. One report says one of his aides told the AP by phone that he died along with his wife, or at least his "second" wife. In another, the aide is quoted, as well as a local tribesman saying he attended the funeral. Odd that the AP can ring-up the Taliban on one of the harshest battlefields in the world but allied forces cannot follow the pings to take them out.
Pakistani officials have complained that the US has failed to hit Mehsud with drone attacks despite them having supplied co-ordinates three times. The reason they gave was that Mehsud has been more focused against Pakistan in his militancy rather than fully directing his militants against Nato in Afghanistan.
Mehsud is said to hate publicity and particularly photography. Perhaps it is not unusual that he will make no claims to be alive, if indeed he is alive.
Mehsud is or was a hardliner. Even among his peers, he is considered extraordinarily dedicated to holy war against allied forces. In November 2007, Baitullah Mehsud told the BBC: "Only jihad can bring peace to the world."
In March, Weasel Zippers reported that Baitullah Mehsud "promised an assault on Washington 'soon' - one he said that will 'amaze' the world." This after claiming responsibility for the attack on a Pakistan police academy in Lahore leaving 18 dead and more than 100 wounded.
As within any organization, even one fighting in the wilderness of Afghanistan, position within an organization is power, and it is believed the "friend" calling American reports of the demise of Mehsud "ridiculous" may be preparing to succeed the leader. While Commander Hakimullah Mehsud says the reports are the work of propaganda, he also say Baitullah Mehsud is adopting the tactics of Osama bin Laden and will "stay silent."
Update 8-8-08 4:15 pm CDT: The story of what seems to be Baitullah Mehsud's demise can be attributed to his desire to have a son in addition to his four daughters by his first wife. With a new wife in the family, and the couple at the home of the new wife's father, perhaps a son would be delivered. Baitullah was diabetic and not feeling well. A doctor was tending to him:
As he lay on a couch on the roof tended by his new wife, somewhere high up in the clear starry sky a distant unmanned plane was hovering, invisible to the naked eye. Its cameras locked in on him, a command was given thousands of miles away in the Nevada desert, and two Hellfire missiles tore into the mudwalled building.
Afterwards a Pakistani intelligence officer based in the nearest town, Makeen, said Mehsud’s torso had been “totally damaged except for his head”.
It just isn't proper to have daughters when you're a distinguished Taliban leader. There is no celebratory gunfire for the birth of a daughter. How frustrating. Four daughters! It appears he died without a son, his second wife along with him, and seven body guards that could do little to save him from the eagle eye of the American drone.
Baitullah Mehsud was a big catch, and perhaps the biggest for the drone program. He is believed to have behind the death of Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in December 2007.
When a former leader was also killed by a Predator drone and replaced by Abdullah Mehsud - who was released by Americans at Guantanamo, Baitullah proved the stronger leader and Abdullah lost his leadership.

According to this report, Baitullah Mehsud has been CONFIRMED dead. The puzzling confirmation comes via a joint phone call from Hakimullah Mehsud and Waliur Rehman, saying that their leader Baitullah Mehsud was martyred on August 23, 2009, but the truth seems to be that Baitullah died on August 5th as reported above.

Jawad was arrested by Afghan police in December 2002 for allegedly throwing a grenade into a vehicle containing two US troops and an Afghan interpreter. It’s unclear how old Jawad was at the time, but he was almost certainly 17 years old or younger. Jawad confessed to Afghan police that he had committed the crime, but later told US officials that he only did so because he had been tortured by them, making the evidence unusable under President Obama’s new rules for detainees.
The Justice Department says it has “newly available evidence” of Jawad’s “involvement with the grenade attack on two U.S. servicemen.” But the Justice Department isn’t asking for more time to investigate the new evidence. And on Wednesday night Justice Department officials submitted a proposed writ of habeas corpus for Judge Huvelle to sign.
The ACLU cheer:
A federal judge today ordered the government to release Guantánamo detainee and American Civil Liberties Union client Mohammed Jawad, who has been illegally detained by the U.S. for almost seven years. The Afghan government has indicated that it is prepared to receive Jawad immediately and unconditionally. U.S. District Judge Ellen Huvelle gave the Justice Department until August 21 to release Jawad from Guantánamo and transfer him to the custody of the Afghan government.
Judge Huvelle also ordered the Justice Department to inform Congress of its plans for returning Jawad to Afghanistan by August 6, and to produce a report on the status of his repatriation by August 24.
The following can be attributed to Jonathan Hafetz, staff attorney with the ACLU National Security Project and one of Jawad’s lawyers in his habeas corpus case:
“Judge Huvelle made clear that Mr. Jawad has been illegally detained and the government has no credible evidence to continue holding him. We are pleased that the Justice Department has expressed a commitment to getting him home so that this nightmare of abuse and injustice can finally come to an end.”
Military Families United make the opposing case:
“No coherent policy in the war on terror. No comprehensive plan in place to deal with the future of Guantanamo Bay detainees. No accountability for terrorists who attack and wound our brave fighting forces. Now, in a strikingly familiar political decision, the Obama Administration has announced it plans on releasing Mohammed Jawad, a terrorist who attacked and wounded two U.S. soldiers and an Afghan citizen in a grenade attack.
Provided with a fresh opportunity to return to the battlefield, this potential release demonstrates the Administration’s capitulation to the interests of activist organizations such as the ACLU. They have chosen to prioritize the ACLU’s interests over the lives of our troops, the national security of our country and the freedom that we as Americans enjoy.
This terrorist release announcement comes only days after the Administration failed to meet its self-imposed deadline for a developing a comprehensive plan to deal with GITMO detainees. It is just the latest example of a dangerous pattern of piecemeal decisions made to keep an ill-advised campaign promise. Military Families United has been urgently calling for the President to develop a plan to keep America safe and bring justice to these terrorists. If the President’s solution to this problem is to release terrorists, he can no longer claim he is keeping America safe. He is purposefully putting our troops in greater danger and setting a precedent that will result in more American troop deaths.
Jawad’s actions already wounded three individuals. How many more terrorists does the President need to release before he realizes the threat they pose to our troops? Our country and the brave troops that protect it should not be put at greater risk because vital national security decisions are being made to meet arbitrary deadlines and repay campaign debts to the ACLU. Americans deserve better and the country needs an effective, coherent strategy to deal with War on Terror detainees. We cannot allow terrorists to slip through our fingers because of misplaced and untrue political perceptions about Guantanamo Bay.”
It is plain sickening to see the ACLU cheer for the enemy’s freedom to threaten ours.

The legacy of this case will be several fold: one, it will be a test of the principle that the law demands that some dangerous folks be released, and the administration can do nothing about it. Two: the judiciary wants nothing to do with torture-obtained evidence whatsoever, regardless of whether the torturers were affiliated with the U.S. government or not. Three: the political system, which Obama puts much faith in, has restricted a key executive power that the Bush Administration claimed to possess and one that the Obama administration had not formally renounced.
I’m just curious what evidence, besides a confessed terrorist’s say so, do we have of Jawad being tortured? None.

The day after U.S. Military pulled out of Baghdad to the outlying areas, Iraqi military changed the planned strategy, re-interpreted the U.S./Iraq security agreement, and ordered U.S. troops not participate in the expected "joint patrols" inside Baghdad.

BAGHDAD, July 17 - The Americans have been taken aback by the new restrictions on their activities. The Iraqi order runs "contrary to the spirit and practice of our last several months of operations," Maj. Gen. Daniel P. Bolger, commander of the Baghdad division, wrote in an e-mail obtained by The Washington Post.
"Maybe something was 'lost in translation,' " Bolger wrote. "We are not going to hide our support role in the city. I'm sorry the Iraqi politicians lied/dissembled/spun, but we are not invisible nor should we be." He said U.S. troops intend to engage in combat operations in urban areas to avert or respond to threats, with or without help from the Iraqis.
"This is a broad right and it demands that we patrol, raid and secure routes as necessary to keep our forces safe," he wrote. "We'll do that, preferably partnered."
U.S. forces see the stepped-up attacks against them linked to these restrictions. With tensions taunt between America forces and Iraqi military, GI's express doubts about Iraq's ability to protect the country:
The acrimony that has marked the transition period has sowed resentment, according to several U.S. soldiers, who said the confidence expressed by Iraqi leaders does not match their competence.
"Our [Iraqi] partners burn our fuel, drive roads cleared by our Engineers, live in bases built with our money, operate vehicles fixed with our parts, eat food paid for by our contracts, watch our [surveillance] video feeds, serve citizens with our [funds], and benefit from our air cover," Bolger noted in the e-mail.
Is Obama strong enough to give our Military commanders the cover to press for sound security, both for our soldiers, as well as Iraqis? Will we allow Iraq to spin the security agreement? Will we allow the reckless endangerment of our troops coming from less than sound strategy? This is another 'gird your loins' moment for this lank administration.

An unnamed U.S. soldier is missing in Afghanistan and is known to be the victim of kidnapping. The U.S. Military wants the missing soldier back and has sent a sobering message to the residents in at least two villages in suspect areas. The leaflets contained a message and a warning to return our missing soldier.

The papers show on one side an image of a soldier with his head bowed so that his face is not visible (above). A message in the local Pashtun language over the image says, "If you do not free the American soldier, then…"

The military says the leaflet says "...you will be hunted," but some translators say the word also means "targeted."
Sources are inconclusive about how the leaflets got to the villagers: some reports say they were dropped from aircraft with the warnings seen in trees and on rooftops. A Military spokeswoman says they were delivered by hand, but says an aircraft leaflet-drop was made earlier to these villages notifying the people that a U.S. Soldier is missing and asking for information on his whereabouts:

Heart-wrenching appeals to the people who live among untold cruelty at the hands of those who are in possession of one of our own.
A Taliban militant said the U.S. Military has made three previous attempts to find the GI, but failed. He said the soldier is in a safe and secure place in a Taliban-controlled area. This spokesman said ransom demands, or an offer for a prisoner swap may be made, but warned that any attempts by foreigners to rescue him will lead to the soldier's death.
Reuters reports that MawlaviSangin, a Taliban commander, issued warnings to the U.S. that continued "harassment" of the villagers in the area may also lead to the soldier's death.
Reportedly, the U.S. Infantry soldier had just completed a shift and was off-duty when he walked off the U.S. base and left his body armor and weapon behind on June 30th. An anonymous U.S. military source said that communications by insurgents had been intercepted and it was believed that Taliban had the GI. Three Afghan nationals were abducted at the same time.
The Taliban commander, who spoke to Yousafzai [CBS correspondent] via satellite telephone from the region, said a group of militants cornered the American soldier and his Afghan counterparts near a U.S. military base and took them hostage.
But CBS News has learned that not long after the soldier disappeared, U.S. intelligence picked up radio chatter that he had been kidnapped. U.S. officials know he's already been sold to another group of Afghans - but no direct contact has been made with the kidnappers.
This is believed to be the first abduction of a member of the U.S. Military in the almost-8-years since the War on Terror began. While leaflet-drops are 'business as usual' in these areas, those targeted have been the insurgents. This time villagers are warned. It's a different ballgame. Read the entire article here.

There is little I can add about the Flight 93 blogbursts and the information at Alec Rawls sends our way, except to say this man is dedicated to making absolutely certain that the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA in no way memorializes the terrorist on board with heroes of Flt. 93 took the plane down. If you do not know the circumstances behind the design of the Memorial, please send some time at the Error Theory Blog. The information you'll find there will jar your soul.
In 2007, Flight 93 Advisory Commission member Tim Baird told Alec Rawls (the author of these blogburst posts) that everyone at the meetings he attended is fully aware that the giant crescent, originally named the Crescent of Embrace, really does point almost exactly at Mecca. Professor Baird says they all just assume (himself included) that the Mecca orientation must be an innocent coincidence.
Pretty crazy, when they have also been told the meaning of a crescent that Muslims face into to face Mecca. Every mosque is built around a Mecca-direction indicator called a mihrab, and the classic mihrab is crescent shaped. Geometrically, the Crescent of Embrace is the world’s largest mihrab.
However honestly Project Partners believe that the Mecca orientation of the crescent must be a coincidence, this is not what they tell the public. When reporters asked Memorial Project Superintendent Joanne Hanley about the Mecca orientation, she denied it:
"The only thing that orients the memorial is the crash site," she said.
Thinking that the Mecca orientation of the crescent must be a coincidence in no way justifies lying to the public about this explosive information. If Baird’s account is accurate—that the dozens of Memorial Project Partners all know that the giant crescent actually does point to Mecca—then the Memorial Project has a lot of explaining to do. Now an overlooked article from 2007 corroborates Professor Baird’s information.
Dr. Glenn Kashurba
It turns out that a Pennsylvania psychiatrist who has been intimately involved with the memorialization of Flight 93 (writing two books on the subject) argued to a reporter before the July 2007 Memorial Project meeting that the Mecca-orientation of the giant crescent (which he took as a given) should be seen as coincidental:
“When you calculate angles to Mecca - I'm going to be in Washington, D.C., this week, and I'm sure if I calculate angles of the monuments, at least one points to Mecca,” Kashurba said. “I don't know if it will be the White House or the Lincoln Memorial, but at least one will. People looking for a way to support their way of looking at things will look at this in this way for ever and ever.”
If Dr. Kashurba was getting his information from the Memorial Project’s public statements, he would have denied that the crescent points to Mecca. Here is what Memorial Project Partner Patrick White told the press 9 days before the Kashurba story:
Rawls, of Palo Alto, Calif., contends that the centerpiece of the design points toward Mecca.
Rawls’ claims are untrue and “preposterous,” according to Patrick White, Families of Flight 93 vice president. “We went through in detail all his original claims and came away with nothing.”
Kashurba knew better, as did Patrick White himself. The week after his public denial, a local woman asked White how he could be okay with the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent. This time White did not deny the Mecca orientation, but argued that it cannot be seen as honoring Islam because the inexactness of the Mecca orientation would be "disrespectful" to Islam.
Mecca orientation takes literally 2 minutes to verify, starting from source documents
It is not surprising that these Memorial Project insiders would know that the giant crescent does in fact point almost exactly at Mecca (1.8° north of Mecca to be precise, ± 0.1°). After all, they had by the summer of 2007 been examining Rawls’ report, and answering questions from the press about it, for over a year, and the near Mecca orientation of the Crescent of Embrace is trivially easy to verify.
Just use any of the online Islamic prayer-direction calculators to print out the direction to Mecca from Somerset PA. Place this graphic over the Crescent site-plan on your computer screen, and you will see that the Mecca-direction line (which Muslims call “qibla”) almost exactly bisects the crescent:
The green circle in this image is from the qibla calculator at Islam.com (down at the moment, but you can use the one at Qibla.com, or QiblaLocator.com). A person standing between the tips of the giant crescent and facing into the center of the crescent will be facing almost exactly at Mecca.
Patrick White knows this and deceives the press and the public about it. Dr. Kashurba knows it and stands by as White and others deceive the press and the public about it. These deceptions have been blatant.
Everything points to Mecca?
The Project even went to far as to dig up an academic fraud from Texas, willing to deny that there is any such thing as the direction to Mecca:
Daniel Griffith, a geospatial information sciences professor at the University of Texas at Dallas, said anything can point toward Mecca, because the earth is round.
Was the reporter embarrassed to ask Muslims if they can really face any direction to face Mecca? Hard to blame her. Just to ask such a stupid question is to answer it, but the obviousness of the fraud is no excuse for letting it stand.
According to Professor Baird, every Memorial Project member who saw these denials knew that they were fraudulent, yet not one of them has tried to tell the public about the Project’s dishonest cover-up. When the truth does get out to the broader public, Project members are going to have a lot to answer for, which is presumably why they are keeping their mouths shut now. They have done a very bad thing and they don’t want it exposed.
What proves Islamic intent is the architect’s elaborate repetition of the Mecca orientation
No one ever claimed that the almost exact Mecca orientation of the Crescent of Embrace proves Islamic intent. Architect Paul Murdoch proves intent in a different way: by elaborate repetition of his Mecca orientations. His first confirmation of intent is to include an exact Mecca orientation.
In Murdoch’s explanation, the flight path breaks the circle, turning it into the giant crescent. To find this thematically defined crescent, remove those parts of the full Crescent of Embrace that extend out past the point where the flight path breaks the circle. The resulting true or thematic crescent points EXACTLY at Mecca:
At the upper tip of the crescent, the flight path comes down from the NNE and symbolically breaks the circle. What symbolically remains standing is the true or thematic Crescent of Embrace, pointing exactly at Mecca.
Murdoch’s next confirmation of intent is to exactly repeat this entire multi-Mecca oriented geometry in the vast array of crescents of trees that surround the Tower of Voices part of the memorial. Setting aside the chance that an architect could in the first place design a memorial to Flight 93 out of nothing but crescents just by innocent coincidence (which must be close to zero), the odds that these crescents would by random chance manifest Murdoch’s repeated Mecca orientations are 1 in 131 billion:
The only change was to include an explicitly broken off part of the circle
The original Crescent of Embrace design included the symbolically broken off parts at the upper crescent tip. When the bare naked Islamic-crescent shape caused a public uproar, the Memorial Project added another broken off part of the circle, floating out in front of the mouth of the original crescent.
They call it a broken circle now, but the unbroken part of the circle, the symbolic result of 9/11, is still a giant Islamic shaped crescent, still pointing EXACTLY at Mecca. That makes it a mihrab, the Mecca-direction indicator around which every mosque is built. The planned memorial is actually a terrorist memorial mosque.

WTOP.com, federal news radio says that the U.S. and Germany agree that there is danger of widespread threats of al-Qaida attacks emulating the bombings in Bali in 2002 and Madrid 2004. "Groups of terrorists may have been dispatched from training bases in Pakistan to launch crippling attacks."
A minimum of 12 al-Qaida-trained terrorists are believed to have left training camps and dispatched to their home countries, of which Germany, France, Italy, the U.K. and Egypt are included.
Turkish Airlines is believed to be targeted for attacks - especially flights from Istanbul to the U.S. and the U.K. to Israel. On flights over the July 4th holiday, passengers were "segregated" and screened "multiple times." In the U.S., Turkish Airlines flies to New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Charlotte, Tampa and Chicago.
Anticipated attacks on Germany are believed to try to force Germany out of Afghanistan. Following the usual terrorism tactics, intelligence believes the plan is to "plant multiple explosive devices in several locations and detonate them either in a simultaneous or sequential fashion. "
The idea is to draw in first responders to the scene after the first explosion, and then the subsequent explosions are set off in the same location to inflict maximum casualties.
German Ambassador Klaus Scharioth speaks of his country's involvement in Afghanistan:
We are the third biggest troop contributor in Afghanistan, and we are also the fourth biggest contributor of civilian efforts, training and reconstruction and also trying to help the country to redo the education system, give more girls a chance to get an education and all those things - that's one thing," Scharioth says.

Al Qaeda to Kidnap Tourists in Islamic Lands says Cleric Omar Bakri
Lionheart's report below is written just after the beheading of British hostage Edwin Dyer in North Africa. If you are planning to travel to any Islamic land, you must read this investigative report because you will be a target for kidnappers, and it comes straight from the mouths of Al Qaeda.
I had some trouble understanding each word that Omar Bakri was saying. I have a very rough transcription of what I could understand below the video. My apologies for anything that is not correct. It captures the heart of the conversation if not every word.

Glen Jenvey went undercover recently posing as a British journalist, to speak with Omar Bakri, head of the British wing of Al Qaeda's Global Jihad that is now headed up in our country by Anjem Choudry.
This interview was a follow on from Part 1: Al Qaeda & Hostages after Edwin Dyer was beheaded by Al Qaeda in North Africa because the British government would not release Osama Bin Laden's European ambassador Abu Qatada who is currently in prison awaiting extradition back to Jordan to face terror charges there.
Omar Bakri has stated that any non-Moslems entering Islamic lands now face the risk of being kidnapped and imprisoned, with the risk of being beheaded like Mr Dyer.
Egypt, Morocco, and Turkey, all popular holiday destinations where British and Western tourists have already been targeted by Al Qaeda, have all been singled out as places that are now vulnerable for tourists.
Travel to these places, and any other Islamic country at your own peril.

Jenvey: Two weeks ago was obviously the change in policy by al Qaeda of taking prisoners for prisoners, i.e. there are prisoners in British jails and Al Qaeda has adopted the policy of now taking prisoners in North Africa.
Omar Bakri: Al Qaeda is considered by a lot of Muslims around the world thought to be arrested and put in prison and especially in Europe and obviously they don't mean only Europe....many Muslims in the West in Guantanamo, in Spain, in Madrid, in Britain, in Holland, in Belgium, in Denmark. They are arrested not because they have committed any crime, and I don't think there is any strong cases in the UK, (unintelligible) ....get arrested by the Muslim community in the world. They would be be subject to face similar arrest for people, belong to their government around the world.
We understand from Al Qaeda now, they want to counter hostages who have been taken by the Western powers and put in prison, and they want to counter that by taking hostages and countering that. There is a way to stop this cycle. It is a bloody cycle. The way to put an end for those people who are the victims, who are in the middle of this conflict, the best way is to come face to face and to talk. It is about time for Western powers to think about the way they dealt with the IRA and Sinn Fein and Yasser Arafat and the PLO. Why not come face to face and deal with al Qaeda?
Jenvey: Do you think the policy change on taking hostage for hostage by Al Qaeda could mean that tourists in North Africa, Egypt, Morocco are in danger?
Are tourists at risk from Britain in NA and turkey?
Jenvey asks again if these areas will be unsafe for tourists.
Omar Bakri: My advice to tourists from all around the world , especially from Europe, is to be careful do not get in area which is Al Qaeda, or conflict in that area. We have prisons in that area (unintelligible).

Terry Barnich was deputy director of the U.S. State Department's Transition Assistance Office in Baghdad, Iraq. Mr. Barnich was killed by a roadside IED on Memorial Day.

Barnich's job was to resurrect vital infrastructure in Iraq, including energy and telecom. He worked alongside Iraq's Electricity Ministry, attempting to undo the damage done by Saddam Hussein. Increasing capacity for the people of Iraq was the foremost mission. In a phone call, Barnich is quoted as saying that "if all goes as planned, Iraquis will see twice more capacity this summer than last summer." General David Patraeus wrote:
Tragically and ironically, his loss came in the week that Iraq once again broke its electricity production record.
At Terry's funeral, the Minister of Electricity's son presented Terry's mother with a letter from his father, stating that Terry was like a brother to him. The American flag that flew about the U.S. Bagdad Embassy, and The Thomas Jefferson Star for Foreign Service was presented to the family.
Terry Barnich
In Barnich's life before Iraq, he served as Illinois Commerce Commission Chairman from 1989 to 1992. He was chief counsel to former Governor Jim Thompson. Mr. Barnich took a leave-of-absence from his position as CEO of New Paradigm Resources Group before leaving for Iraq.
Rumors were that Barnich was planning to run for the U.S. Senate to fill the seat of Jack Ryan. Here's some comments from Tom Roeser, Chairman of the Editorial Board for the Chicago Daily Observer:
In Illinois, Terry was known as a deeply engaged and serious student of public affairs and endowed with sagacity and a luminous wit. In fact when I heard the surprise that he had allowed his name to be entered in the lists of people the Illinois Republican State Central committee was considering to run for the U. S. Senate following the resignation of Jack Ryan, I became deeply supportive. Unfortunately he was not chosen: if he had, Terry would have run a brilliant campaign against Barack Obama.
He embodied everything the GOP was…and is still… looking for: deep understanding of the issues, articulateness, with an exceeding attractive personality and mien and superb legal training, a graduate of Fordham law school. It will interest some to know that Terry surmounted the beliefs of some establishmentarians in the GOP in that he told me often he was a pro-lifer which position would have come out in his own campaign. Always professional in his politics, he ran the primary portion of the Topinka campaign for governor, leaving after he steered her to the nomination. I wrote at the time that the Topinka campaign would miss him greatly. It did and it is my belief that her campaign in the general would not have failed had Terry stayed.
Chicago, Illinois and the nation have lost much with his death as well as the Republican party which could have derived inestimable benefit from the limitless gifts Terry had to offer if he had lived to return home.

What started as a short-term assignment turned into a much lengthier one, Craig Clausen said, because Barnich became so engaged in the work and so impressed by what the Iraqis were doing.
"He was energized by the progress they were making," Clausen said. "He was just home three weeks ago, and he was talking about some of the things the Iraqis are doing, how they are leapfrogging us in terms of technology for things like how to prevent car theft, or how parents can monitor their children."
Each time Barnich would prepare to leave Iraq, "something else would pop up," Clausen said. But he was pretty certain he was going to come back at the end of June.
Terry had his own way of thinking, and he was willing to step out of the comfort zone, which is what he was doing in Iraq," Clausen said. "He had tremendous respect for the Iraqis who were doing their own original thinking, as the founding fathers of the country, thinking outside the usual models."
Mr. Barnich, 56, left behind his mother, Genevieve Ketel, his sister, Rochelle Barnich, who he was planning to walk down the aisle at her coming wedding and brother, Alain, and sister-in-law. Reports are that Barnich and Sheila Grace became engaged one week before his death.
Along with Terry Barnich, another U.S. soldier was killed, as well as a civilian contractor. Two soldiers were wounded. Unfortunately, I have not been able to identify these men.

This haughty student is upset that Gitmo detainees were unable to defend themselves in court. Condi asks him if he knew who held up the court trials. He tells her he can't answer that question. She says:
"Do your homework first."
She saves his young rear-end and gives him the answer. What a refreshing video!

A Marine veteran of Vietnam, a Marine father of a murdered U.S.S. Cole navyman, and an American citizen with First Amendment rights, has been denied access to his son's grave in Arlington National Cemetery - unless he enters Arlington on foot or in a vehicle other than his own.
The 25-year veteran, Jesse Nieto, served not one, but two tours in Vietnam. His son, Marc, was one of 17 killed aboard the Cole. Mr. Nieto is a civilian employee at the Marine Corps Base at Camp LeJeune, N.C.
In 2001 he began displaying various decals on his vehicle expressing sentiments such as “Remember the Cole, 12 Oct 2000,” “Islam=Terrorism” and “We Died, They Rejoiced.”
Thompson speculated that the Marine command would have to eliminate the Marine’s Hymn because “the phrase ‘to the shores of Tripoli’ celebrates the Marine victory over Islamic forces in the Barbary Coast War and the Battle of Derne.”
The lawsuit alleges that military officials engaged in viewpoint discrimination prohibited by the First Amendment and violated the Fifth Amendment’s equal protection guarantee by allowing some messages to be displayed but prohibiting others.
This is the first time I've heard of "viewpoint discrimination," but it certainly fits.

The Thomas More Law Center is a national, nonprofit public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After conducting an investigation into the matter, the Thomas More Law Center filed a federal lawsuit against the Camp Lejeune Commanding Officer and the Base Magistrate. The civil rights lawsuit challenges the military's ban on Nieto's anti-terrorist decals on the grounds that it violates his constitutional rights to freedom of speech and the equal protection of the law.
The Law Center's investigation revealed that numerous vehicles are permitted on the Base that display a variety of anti-Christian, sexual, commercial and personal messages. Furthermore, according to information provided to the Law Center pursuant to a Freedom of Information Request, the directive under which Nieto's decals have been banned has not been enforced at Camp Lejuene for the last 5 years.
I'm tempted to ask, where are the Marines on this? but our military is saturated with political correctness, harangued by Liberals, protested and loathed by America-haters, and "we the people" let our Warriors fight it by themselves...or give in to it. Look what we allowed the likes of U.S. Representative John Murtha do to our "Haditha Marines."
According to the Catholic News Agency, Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel for the Thomas More Law Center, speculated:

The base removed at least the last two of the above decals, and then ordered Nieto to remove all others. He refused. I live in Chevy and Ford truck country. I'm treated to Calvin unloading everyday, at nearly every traffic light:
The decals remaining on the car? Everyone one of them are true. Can we no longer name our enemy? What's the problem with the truth? This isn't a matter of religion or faith. "We died - they Rejoiced" - TRUE. "Islam=Terrorism" - TRUE. "Remember the Cole" - yes. Are there only a few of us who will never forget the bombing and murder of our Naval ship and sailors?
The defendants in this case are Colonel Richard Flatau, Jr. and Lieutenant Colonel James Hessen, both of the USMC. The Case No: 7:2008cv00185, North Carolina Eastern District Court. The Presiding Judge: Senior Judge Malcolm J. Howard.

A note from Radarsite: Today, December 9, 2008, I have just received my third phone call from Lionheart since the onset of my illness. He is facing arrest for doing something and for doing it well. He has written about the invasion of his native land by Muslims. And he has called a spade a spade. Lionheart has committed the unpardonable cultural offense of writing the truth about Islam. He has actually gone so far as to criticize Islam. THIS is his crime. He has committed a Hate Crime. And for this dreadful Hate Crime he is actually facing the horrifying prospects of prison. For trying to protect his own country!
My God! How have we let it come to this? When the hell are we going to stop this before it's just too late to stop it? How in hell can you write about a hateful and murderous cult without calling it hateful and murderous? How in hell can you demonize the devil? Just to describe it is to commit the crime.
If these same Hate Laws are enacted and enforced here in the United States -- and we are coming very, very close to this fateful precipice -- every conservative blogger or columnist here who writes -- truthfully -- about this Islamic Menace IS VULNERABLE. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US. And from what I have read of Lionheart's work, I must say that what I have written critically about Islam is ten times more scathing. Ten times more indictable. And I've got plenty of company.
Regardless of the outcome of this particular preposterous and outrageous British case, the mere fact that we in the Western world have allowed it to progress this far is an indictment against our collective intellectual laziness and our lack of courage. We have allowed two terrible monsters to grow to maturity within our midst: the Imperialistic Islamic Menace, and the PC Multicultural liberals who are nourishing this deadly beast to their own bosom.
THIS CANNOT STAND. We must not just read these articles about this latest horror and move on to something else. It's gotten too serious. The threat's too grave. It's gone much too far. We're in some kind of crazy International Stockholm Syndrome. We identify more closely with the criminals than with those who are trying to save us.
Please, before it's too late. NOW IS THE TIME. TOMORROW WILL BE TOO LATE.

Fellow Blogger Lionheart to be arrested for speaking the truth
Fellow blogger Lionheart sent me an email this morning to let me know a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Why? Because he blogs about Islamic terrorism. He says:
I am currently out of the Country and on my return home to England I am going to be arrested by British detectives on suspicion of Stirring up Racial Hatred by displaying written material" contrary to sections 18(1) and 27(3) of the Public Order Act 1986.
This charge if found guilty carries a lengthy prison sentence, more than what most paedophiles and rapists receive, and all for writing words of truth about the barbarity that is living in the midst of our children, which threatens the very future of our Country.
The cultural weapon in the hands of the modern Jihad within Great Britain, silencing the opposition using our own laws against us - The Dumb Filthy Kaffir's as the Moslem would say to his children behind closed doors.
What has become of my homeland, the land my forefathers fought and died for on the battlefields of the world when one of their children is forced into the position of facing years in prison for standing up for what is right and just within British society.
At least my words of truth have obviously now reached people's eyes and ears, with the powers that be now intent on silencing me - Third World Tyranny in a supposed 21st Century democracy!
I wonder if the Moslem peer Lord Ahmed was one of the people behind trying to silence me, I did wonder about why he crashed his car and nearly killed himself over Christmas, let that be a lesson to you - 1 Chronicles 16:22 Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.”
How dare any Moslem try and silence the truth from being told by an Englishman about the Islamic enemy in our midst within the British homeland.
Who have I killed, who have I threatened to kill? No one, all I have done is written about my reality on a computer screen, and now I face going to prison in my own country for standing up for myself and others.
What has happened to those who threatened my life or who have killed my friends - NOTHING - This is British justice in the 21st Century - Shove your British Labour justice because it is worthless to the Englishman whose country this is, whose country you have destroyed.
Who blew up trains and buses on 7/7, who tried blowing up cars in London and Glasgow, who is seeking to detonate a dirty bomb upon the streets of Great Britain and who believes that non-Islamic territory is to be viewed as 'the house of war and must be converted at all costs', I dont think you will find it is me, but I have no problem with educating others to the threat, the threat that this 'Loony Labour Government' is pretending is not real - The former Home Secretary knew what he was talking about. I do not want to go to prison for many years for standing up for my children and other childrens futures, it is an injustice within what is supposed to be a civilized democratic society and people need to know what is happening, that my government is now seeking to silence me from speaking the truth about the war that has been declared against us all.
Today it is me and my blog and tomorrow it is you and your blog.
Please help me get this message out there by raising the awareness of this injustice, then my State Sanctioned arrest will not be in vain.
