Rand Paul Eliot Spitzer: Spitzer Pushes Pay Cut for Medicare Doctors

Client No. 9, also known as Eliot Spitzer, interviewed Kentucky's new Senator-elect, Rand Paul. Paul is a medical doctor and has said physicians pay for treatment of Medicare patients should not be cut unless all federal payrolls are cut. Spitzer thought he had Paul on the end of his pitchfork after showing the trillions spent on medicare, medicaid and social security.  See the video below.

Paul pointed out that further cuts in physician's pay would be on top of the already-implemented 50% cut. Spitzer wasn't interested and offered no follow-up. Then he tried to broadside Paul by asking what his income was as a physician treating predominately Medicare patients. Paul didn't skip a beat, and suggested if Spitzer wanted to talk about Rand's past, perhaps they might also talk about Spitzer's own (which undoubtedly would include the disgraced Governor of New York State being outed as "Client No. 9" in a prositution scandal which brought his resignation as governor).

Rand Paul will be a conservative voice to be reckoned with when he hits the Senate. It's a good thing.

Christine O'Donnell Palin-Endorsed!

Sarah Palin has endorsed Christine O'Donnell for the Senate in Delaware. Sitting Republican Congressman Mike Castle is trying to move up to the Senate and occupy the seat left behind when Joe Biden move up to the Veep office. Castle is a Republican-in-Name Only (a RINO) and scores so far Left on the Gov Track meter that we have to ask, how much Republican does this man have in? Not much. Castle voted for the DISCLOSE Act and the failed cap-and-trade. Sarah's endorsement came on Sean Hannity's program today.

Here are the dynamics of this race, all of which just changed drastically. Castle is running double digits ahead of his Democrat opponent, and O'Donnell is running double digits behind the Democrat. Will Delaware's voters want a true conservative sitting in the seat vacated by Joe Biden?

O'Donnell ran against Biden in 2008 and there are some stories about that. Obviously, Sarah does not believe Christine's detractors. From Christine:

They knock on the door at all hours of the night. They’re hiding in the bushes when I’m at candidate forums. In 2008 they broke into my home. They vandalized my home. They wrote nasty notes on my front door, on my front porch. They jeopardized my safety. They did the same thing to our campaign office. They broke into our campaign office. They vandalized our campaign office. They stole files. My campaign signs that had my picture—they put a spear in my mouth poked out my eyes, and cut out the part of my heart, and wrote nasty names all over those campaign signs. 

There has a small war between conservative bloggers about Christine O'Donnell's candidacy. With very little momentum in her campaign, some are asking why voters would want to risk losing a Republican, even it is Mike Castle, by voting for O'Donnell, giving way to a Democrat win. Recently, The Other McCain had a lot to say about it (and has supported Christine from day one) reminding us that she is pro-life and Castle is not. I will remind, once more, that Castle voted for the despicable DISCLOSE Act and the Obama failed cap-and-trade. Having said that, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie endorsed Castle. Marcus Stanley Barbara Boxer: Marcus Stanley Brings Pot to Senate

Marcus Stanley, senior aide to Senator Barbara Boxer, was arrested Tuesday as he tried to get marijuana inside the Hart Senate Office building. Stanley serves as a senior economic adviser to Boxer.

According to Babs, Stanley submitted his resignation immediately. He has been employed on Captiol Hill since 2007 and his salary is reportedly "in the 6 figures."

According to The San Francisco Chronicle, U.S. Capitol Police stopped the 43-year-old aide Tuesday morning after he allegedly tried to "remove and conceal" a leafy green substance from his pocket as he was entering the Hart Office Building.

Unfortunately for Stanley, who had worked for Boxer since 2009, the substance tested positive for a chemical compound in marijuana, reports The San Francisco Chronicle.

Senator Boxer is opposing Proposition 19 in California which will legalize pot and tax it. Stanley is the fourth Capitol Hill aide arrested this year.

Chris Matthews Asks to be Told Something He Doesn't Know

Carly Fiorina Leads Barbara Boxer by 5 Points: Jerry Brown Meg Whitman in Dead Heat

Carly Fiorina, a California Republican has a 5 point lead over incumbent and far-left Progressive Senator Barbara Boxer. The same CBS5 poll shows Meg Whitman in a dead heat race with Jerry Brown for California governor.

The CBS 5 poll, conducted by the research firm SurveyUSA, showed Fiorina edging Boxer 47 percent to 42 percent, compared to a CBS 5 poll one month ago showing Fiorina over Boxer 47 to 45 percent.

The poll results indicated Fiorina's support was essentially unchanged among men and women, young and old, white and Hispanic while Boxer had lost small ground among men, younger voters, and independents. 

The poll also showed Fiorina tripling her lead in the Central Valley, from seven points one month ago to 21 points in this latest poll. 

Meanwhile, the CBS 5 poll has gubernatorial candidates Whitman and Brown at 44 and 43 percent, respectively, effectively even within the poll's 4.1 percent error margin. Compared to a CBS 5 poll one month ago, Whitman is down two percent, while, Brown is up four percent. 

According to the pollsters, Brown gained ground among women over the past month, while Whitman leads among men. More Democrats have also moved toward Brown over the past month; 74 percent of Democrats voted for Brown versus 64 percent in the previous poll. 78 percent of Republicans vote for Whitman, unchanged from last month. 

A note about Barbara Boxer: As a Senator and a the chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee did an astonishing thing, broke a written committee rule, and passed a cap and trade bill out of committee:

[Jim] Inhofe (R-OK) said this action by Boxer (D-CA) is "history-making...has never been done before" and is "unprecedented."

According to Inhofe, who is the ranking committee minority member, a bill should have two minority party (Republican) members present, before a bill can leave committee and be sent to the Senate floor. The Washington Post reported, before Boxer's action, that she was considering using "a simple majority" which would not require the presence of the minority.

So, a bill got out of committee without the the quorum necessary. It was blatant. It was fraud on the American people. Let's put Carly Fiorina in the Senate and send Babs Boxer home.

DOJ SEC Exempt from Financial Reform Act CFPA

Big news this morning that the financial reform bill exempts the SEC from transparency. Perhaps even bigger news is that the corrupt DOJ is also exempt. The bottom line, no transparency at either agency. Is this how we will fund the creeping lawlessness at the DOJ? Mary Shapiro, SEC head, and Eric Holder are free to ignore whistleblowers again, and hide whatever needs to be hidden. Did the Republican senators on the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee know the DOJ and the SEC were exempt? If they did not, why not, and if they did, why did they not get to a microphone to tell us about it? We need an Operation Microphone to encourage Republicans to report these important "nuances" in legislation. See a list of Senators below.

(f) EXCEPTIONS.—

(1) DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE.—Nothing in this title shall affect the authorities of the Department of Justice.

(2) PERSONS REGULATED BY THE SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION.—

(A) IN GENERAL.—Nothing in this title shall be construed as altering, amending, or affecting the authority of the Securities and Exchange Commission...The Agency shall have no authority to exercise any power to enforce this title with respect to a person regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Mary Shapiro, currently the head of the SEC, was appointed by G.W. and promoted by Barack Obama. As head of FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) she simply ignored the Bernie Madoff scam, even though a whistleblower was whistling.

FINRA is a private agency set up by Wall Street. It is intended to the first line of defense in policing the activities of securities firms and protecting investors. When lawsuits were filed, they were dismissed because FINRA has complete immunity under the law. FINRA is accountable to no one.

Claims of Schapiro's close relationship with Bernie Madoff and a glaring lack of regulation of his bilking activities, even with a very persistent whistleblower are numerous, and Schapiro was Madoff's son's employer. Obama promoted her from FINRA to the head of the SEC anyway.

Here are the names of the Senators on the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. If you find your Senator on the list, please call the office and ask if they knew about this (which is on page 24 of the bill - not exactly buried), and if so, why did they not find a microphone and loudly tell us about this exemption? Remember, the issue is not that these Senators voted for it, because they did not, but the issue is getting to a microphone and telling the country what is going on. Background on the CFPA. Pete Stark Bill to Tax Currency: Stark Bill Mimics UN Millennium Development Goal

Democrat Congressman Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA) introduced a tax on currency trading yesterday. This is right out of the U.N. Millennium Development Goal 2000 (UNMDG), but the U.N. calls it "a currency transfer tax." My title says Stark's bill mimics the UNMDG, but maybe it is the UNMDG. Rep. Stark is the man who recently caused an uproar at his townhall by asking a MinuteMan "who ya gonna kill today." See a video below.

President Obama's Senate Bill, the Global Poverty Act SB 2433 ties us to the UNMDG. It dithers somewhere between the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and 2008 Senate calendar. It awaits the right time to strike, and it "requires" the president, whomever that may be, to "develop" and "implement" the achievement of the UNMDG.

Here's the language in the U.N. Millennium Development Goal (UNMDG):

To introduce binding codes of conduct for transnational companies and effective tax regulation on the international financial markets, investing this money in programmes for poverty eradication.

As you read Pete Stark's statement, remember that the health care legislation requires coin and bullion dealers to report to the IRS every sale over $600.00 beginning January 2010. It is in the health care bill!  They are following the money.

Here is Stark's statement:

Today, I introduced H.R. 5783, the Investing in Our Future Act. My legislation would simply impose a small tax — of 0.005 percent — on these currency transactions. The money raised would be put toward investments in children, global health and climate change mitigation.

For the average person or business, this small tax will hardly be noticed. But, due to the extreme speculation that takes place, it would raise significant funds. Studies estimate a worldwide 0.005 percent tax on dollar transactions would raise $28 billion a year and reduce currency speculation by 14 percent.

Here at home, the funds from this fee would be used to improve the quality and affordability of child care. This funding would provide more child care options, so working families can obtain the quality care their children need to begin school ready to learn.

Internationally, the bill would create a U.S. fund to assist developing countries with the impacts of global warming. At the United Nations Climate Change Conference in December, President Obama pledged to fund our country's commitment to mitigating the effects of climate change. This bill would make that promise real.

Finally, the legislation would create a Global Health Trust Fund to fight HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis and other diseases that kill millions of people each year in developing nations. This money will fund treatments and prevention for these diseases, as well as research aimed at eradicating them altogether.

The U.N. Millennium Development Goal is astonishingly evil.  It will set migration policies and calls for "freedom of circulation for all," or Open Borders. The Global Financial Architecture will be revamped and use alternative time-based currency, rather than "real" money.

Sets up a global habitat conservation fund with a "royalty" (tax) on fossil energy production of oil, natural gas and coal. There will be a tax on the rental value of land and natural resources. A goal of democratic political control of the global economy. The world's workers are to be respected and that will happen by regulating transnational corporations.

The plan is to control  and monitor arms with an arms registry.There will be a worldwide freeze on armed forces and a 25% cut in production and export of major weapons and small arms - with a "build-down of conventional forces.

Back to H.R. 5783, at this time there are no co-sponsors. The Huffington Post is asking readers to call their congressmen and ask them sponsor this legislation.

Trent Lott: We Don't Need Jim DeMint Disciples

Former Senator Trent Lott, currently a lobbyist, wants no more Jim DeMints in the Senate. Here are his exact words:

"We don't need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples," Lott said in an interview. "As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them." 

"Co-opt" according to the dictionary means "to assimilate, take, or win over into a larger or established group."

Obviously, Lott likes the status-quo of today's Senate, which has no power to do anything, and didn't do anything meaningful before they lost everything to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

Senator DeMint is one of the few at the top of my list of real conservatives who actually care about Constitutional principles, and isn't afraid to talk about them.

I'm left speechless after reading the article in the Washington Post. Maybe tomorrow I'll find the words to express my dismay. In the meantime, Karen at The Lonely Conservative has another incident within this same story, involving bloggers.

Anna Little Receives $840+ from Ten Buck Friday Week 2: Week 3 Controversy

The Little campaign reported $840.00 received from Ten Buck Fridays, ranging in donations from $10 to $100. Keep reading some controversy about the Week 3 winner, Eric Wargotz and be assured that this will not happen again.

Unfortunately, the Week 2 winner drew a week that encompassed the Independence Day holiday with readers and bloggers celebrating and maybe traveling with little time for politics.  Acknowledging this, we feel good about what we brought to Anna's congressional race, but as RightKlik points out, had each of the almost 1,000 votes sent $10 to the Little campaign, our donation would have been close to $10,000.

The Week 3 winner announced yesterday (Friday) is Dr. Eric Wargotz. There are a couple of controversies about his win:

(1) Wargotz has at least one conservative candidate running against him in the September primary. The Ten Buck Friday dilemma is, when this happens should we add the other true conservatives to the poll, or should we eliminate the candidate from the poll until after the primary?

(2) According to this blogger, Wargotz has some serious warts. Read the comments as well as opinions, which differ greatly.  The same situation at RightKlik's comments. Please read them before deciding who you will vote for.

Seen as a problem to some is Wargotz' comment that he believes Obama may not have natural-born-status. I will say this - my opinion only - the fact is Obama may not have natural-born-status. We have no way to know. I can easily believe he is natural-born, but there is nothing to prove it, and for those believing the birth certificate provided by his campaign is real, you're just not being honest. It isn't signed by a physician or a hospital. The fact is, no one knows. The President is hiding something, maybe not his natural-born status, but perhaps something else - or he would release his documented b/c...however, no need to speculate here. Being named a "birther" came from the Left and they have utilized this weapon well. I do not fault Wargotz for an opinion either way on this.

I do fault him for what seems to be a yearning for the right to health care extended to illegal immigrants. For this reason, I will not support him this week.

We will avoid these problems in the future, and measures are being set in place to immediately do so.

Dems Refuse Unemployment Benefits from Obama's Stash: Checks are Job Creators

Republicans refused to add $33 billion+ to the Nation's soaring deficit for extended unemployment benefits, and want them paid for by Obama's economic recovery stash. Dems say the stash is for jobs. Nancy Pelosi said unemployment checks "creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name." So what is the problem? Obama's economic recovery stash is for jobs, the checks create jobs, so use the stash! See the video below.

Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and all Republicans except RINOS Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) and Susan Collins (R-Maine), proposed actually paying for the extension with stimulus funds - otherwise known as Obama's stash. Unable to get a bill  passed, the Senate left for the holiday weekend early.

In spite of the Democrats own Pay-Go rules, indicating the American public might hope spending is paid before being spent, Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL) said unemployment benefits are "emergency spending," and not bound by Pay-Go.

At some point, after months of benefit extensions, we have to ask when an extension has become a part of the Democrat agenda. The administration's policies have the private sector awaiting their tax bomb, their healthcare bomb, the regulations bomb, and the continuing demise of their investments - and business owners are not hiring. It is not a surprise, it's a conclusion - a result of bad policy that seems to have no end.

Democrat Senator Ben Nelson (NE) voted with Republicans, shunning the Liberal mindset voiced by Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL) in an interview with the Washington Examiner:

We've never done it, Durbin said. And it is counterintuitive that to stop a recession we have to take spending away from one area and put it into another. We need to put money into the economy.

Senator Saxby Chambliss' (R-GA) mid-June comment about benefit extensions was used in part by the Georgia Democrat Party, quoting only half of it, and then tried to make a point that Chambliss supported benefit extensions but had voted against them "multiple times." The Georgia Dems quoted this:

During a time of economic hardship, I don't believe we should allow provisions such as the extension of emergency unemployment benefits to expire.

What they omitted is this:

But I do believe that when we extend these programs, we should do so in a responsible fashion. Congresss should find a way to pay for those extensions.

The bill would extend unemployment payments for up to a total of 99 weeks...through the end of November, at a cost of $33.9 billion. The money would have been borrowed from, adding to the budget deficit....They [Republicans] proposed using unspent money from President Barack Obama's massive 2009 economic recovery package.

Democrats rejected the offer, saying the money was needed for jobs programs. Republicans said the stimulus package included plenty of lawmakers' pet projects that could be cut to cover the unemployment benefits. 

Here we are back at Nancy Pelosi's claim that unemployment checks are a big job creator. If Democrats actually believe her, and stand behind her ridiculous comment, then use the job recovery stash for extended benefits.

Senate Passes Gilad Shalit Resolution

After four years, the U.S. Senate has called on Hamas to "immediately and unconditionally release Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit. The action comes in the form of a non-binding resolution, and does as much good as did Hillary and Barack's non-binding resolution that John McCain was a natural born U.S. citizen. They knew McCain had natural-born status. I suggest the U.S. actually do something about Hamas that is productive, such as cutting all aid, noticing when they kill by suicide bomber and doing something about the rockets that rain into Israel.

After years of allowing U.S. aid to Palestine end up in the hands of Hamas, this is a disgraceful move on the part of the Senate. Also disgraceful is Nancy Pelosi's "pledge" to keep the issue alive. And another disgrace, if this report from Al Quds Al-Arabia via YNet News is true - that the U.S. is secretly working with Hamas through a contact in Damascus.

RINO Congressman Mike Castle (R-DE) voted for the House DISCLOSE Act. Castle just took away portions of your free speech and mine. The DISCLOSE Act (Democracy is Strengthened by Casting Light on Spending in Elections), otherwise known as H.R. 5175 passed the House yesterday with help from two Republicans, Delaware's Mike Castle and Louisiana's Joseph Cao. DISCLOSE will be put into effect within 30 days - even before the FEC can write the guidelines. Democrats see this imperative to stifling our free speech - and especially the free speech of grassroots organizations, for example...TEA Parties, and here's another example:

Remember the Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court which restored First Amendment rights to corporations, saying the government as no right to regulate free speech? Senators Challenge Obama on 'Deeming' Illegal Aliens Citizens: Executive Order for Mass Amnesty?

Eight senators are asking Obama if he has plans to 'deem' illegal aliens citizens through an Executive Order for mass amnesty.

Here is the text of the letter signed by Sens. Grassley, Hatch (R-Utah), Vitter (R-La.), Bunning (R-Ky.), Chambliss (R-Ga.), Isakson (R-Ga.), Inhofe (R-Okla.), and Cochran (R-Miss.).

Dear President Obama:

We understand that there’s a push for your Administration to develop a plan to unilaterally extend either deferred action or parole to millions of illegal aliens in the United States. We understand that the Administration may include aliens who have willfully overstayed their visas or filed for benefits knowing that they will not be eligible for a status for years to come. We understand that deferred action and parole are discretionary actions reserved for individual cases that present unusual, emergent or humanitarian circumstances. Deferred action and parole were not intended to be used to confer a status or offer protection to large groups of illegal aliens, even if the agency claims that they look at each case on a “case-by-case” basis.

While we agree our immigration laws need to be fixed, we are deeply concerned about the potential expansion of deferred action or parole for a large illegal alien population. While deferred action and parole are Executive Branch authorities, they should not be used to circumvent Congress’ constitutional authority to legislate immigration policy, particularly as it relates to the illegal population in the United States.

The Administration would be wise to abandon any plans for deferred action or parole for the illegal population. Such a move would further erode the American public’s confidence in the federal government and its commitment to securing the borders and enforcing the laws already on the books.

We would appreciate receiving a commitment that the Administration has no plans to use either authority to change the current position of a large group of illegal aliens already in the United States, and ask that you respond to us about this matter as soon as possible.
