Bill Clinton Plays to 1/3-Full Gym: Bubba's Crowds Stayed Home in Blue Michigan

Bill Clinton could only fill one-third of the gym at a rally at Renaissance High School for Virg Bernero and other Democrat candidates. Bernero is hoping to become Michigan's next Democrat governor, and Clinton's appearance at the free and open event was expected to draw big.

Bill Clinton

The First Black President (who is more than half White, as far as we know), addressed the audience with a rousing and elegant speech:
“These other guys are playing you. They say they’re mad, they’re frustrated and want something new,” Clinton said. “But this country is coming back.”
And they tried to tell us Bush was an embarrassing speaker.

Same thing happened to Obama last month in Cleveland. Remember...they had to recruit students to fill the seats.

But more about Slick Willy :
Shortly before Clinton took the stage, the Rev. Wendell Anthony, president of the Detroit branch of the NAACP, urged attendees to leave bleacher seats along one side of the gym and try to fill the area in front of the podium before Clinton began his address.
Nevertheless, the Wayne County commissioner said "Clinton is a rock star in Detroit."

Let's face it, the Comeback Kid can't make a comeback unless Hillary is President - even in a blue, blue state like Michigan.

I wonder how many in the one-third full gym were high schools students who are not legal to vote?

Megyn Kelly Smacks Kirsten Powers with Facts: Rep. Brad Sherman Shames HimselfVideo

Kirsten Powers IS a Liberal, but this video shows she has partaken of a full vat of Kool-Aid just before a chat with Megyn Kelly. Oh wow! You haven't seen this before, and there can be no mystery about which blonde bombs. The conversation is about the Department of Justice (DOJ) dismissing the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party (NBPP). The video begins with a California townhall hosted by Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA-27th) and a constituent telling Sherman she is concerned about the DOJ and the NBPP. Sherman bring on the shame and doesn't know a  thing, bless his heart, about a Black Panther case, and he is certain the DOJ plans to prosecute any Blacks he finds intimidating voters. You can imagine what the crowd does, then Kelly and Powers provide the entertainment. Kirsten is definitely not ready for the big tent. See related background info below video.

Why The Senate Bill Funds Abortions: Bart Stupaks Abortion Bait and Switch

Most of us didn't question Rep. Bart Stupak's (D-MI) commitment to unfunded taxpayer abortions - especially after he talked about it for days, but shame on us. We should have known better. These are Democrats, and they know not of principled commitment. But it was not just Stupak who chased after a way to vote for the bill. In fact, in the end, Stupak was of no concern to Nancy Pelosi. She had cut bait and moved to more lucrative waters - a coalition of about 30 Democrats who late on March 19th worked a deal to support their regional areas - mainly the hospitals, and they didn't care about abortion. Neither did most Democrats, despite the lies Stupak boldly spoke to the Nation.

Republicans asked for a "motion to recommit,"...language similar to Stupak's, ensuring no public funded abortions, be added to the bill before voting. That was not going to happen, even though Stupak knew the President's Executive Order was worthless.  See the roll call vote on the motion here. From the floor of the House, just before the vote on the Senate health care bill, Stupak called the Republican "motion to recommit," "disingenuous," and said this:

...it is the Democrats who have stood up for the principle of no public funding for abortion," he said on the House floor,
Only 64 Democrats voted for his amendment. All but one Republican voted for the amendment. It was only due to Republican votes that Stupak's amendment made it into the bill. Henry Hyde, the author of the Hyde amendment was a Republican. Talk about "disingenuous." The myth of Pro-Life Democrats exposed. See this in the first video below.

But Rep. Stupak never planned to vote against health care, regardless of taxpayer funded abortions. In the second video from last Fall, at 1:29 minutes in, he tells constituents that if he has to accept federally funded abortions to have Democrat health care, he will do so, and still stay true to his principles. Hear the audience's abhorrent reaction.

So, who do we believe? Is there language in the Senate bill that allows for taxpayer-funded abortions?  Here is the explanation:

In this video, Stupak explained why the Hyde amendment did not apply to the Senate bill:
[Senate legislation] is not subject to the annual appropriations law and therefore is not subject to the Hyde provisions contained in the annual labor HHS bill. The only way to provide Hyde protection of no public funding for abortion in the health insurance option and subsidies in the form of affordability credit found in the bill is to insert the Hyde amendment into this legislation...
This from the United States conference of Catholic Bishops further clarifies: the key is that the new monies in the bill, are not appropriated by funds restricted by the Hyde amendment:
The Senate bill authorizes and appropriates billions of dollars in new funding -- outside the scope of the appropriations bill covered by the Hyde amendment...These funds are new, and over he next five years they will be provided without being appropriated in the Labor/HHS appropriations act; therefore they are not covered by the Hyde amendment, which says only funds "appropriated in the Act...may not be used for elective abortions.

Acorn Brooklyn Cleared in Pimp Prostitute Undercover Tapes

A five-month investigation into a tape showing Brooklyn's ACORN office giving advice to a pimp and a prostitute has been cleared of any wrong doing. The tape shows ACORN employees providing information on how to smuggle 13-year-old foreign girls into the country, put them in a house of prostitution and avoid paying taxes on profits. See videos below.

 Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe

The prosecutor, Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes, is a member of SEIU's Working Families Party and is closely tied to ACORN. Apparently, the investigation ended because the prosecution said the two people posing as the pimp and prostitute, Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe, edited their video - rendering it "unclear" what the ACORN workers said or did not say.

I'd like to see the unedited version, and I bet you would too. I'd also like to hear just where the stories don't quit gel. Do you think we'll hear where there was insufficient clarity was apparent.

Founding Bloggers makes the point that Hynes is a member of the Working Families Party, by virtue of a pledge he signed, and an endorsement he received. "You have to seek the endorsement and make a commitment to the party."

The whole thing stinks on ice.

In the Giles and O'Keefe undercover tape in a San Diego ACORN office, ACORN spokesman, David Lagstein allegedly told members of the East County Democrat Club that Attorney General Jerry Brown plans to find fault with the videographers (Giles and O'Keefe). Follow the link and hear the audio.

BigGovernment says California governer Jerry Brown will have a tough time going after Giles and O'Keefe for illegally taping the ACORN employees, as his aides "secretly recorded phone conversations with at least 5 reporters.

Let's hear what is "unclear" in the Brooklyn tapes. Watch the videos below and let me know if you think they could have been edited to show a result that clearly was not a part of the tapes. Also, see links to other videos of other ACORN offices around the country.

Dems will Rahm the Health Care Through beginning Monday: Today's Summit Be Damned!

Politico is reporting that an unnamed Democratic official says today's health care summit is to give a face to gridlock, and the reconciliation process will begin next week.

Health Care

During the summit, Harry Reid this very morning, said no one has talked about reconciliation but Republicans!
A Democratic official said the six-hour summit was expected to “give a face to gridlock, in the form of House and Senate Republicans.”
Democrats plan to begin rhetorical, and perhaps legislative, steps toward the Democrats-only, or reconciliation, process early next week, the strategists said.

After the summit, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid planned to take the temperature of their caucuses.
“The point [of the summit] is to alter the political atmospherics, and it will take a day or two to sense if it succeeded,” the official said.
Positive statements by Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) and Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La. of late “are early signs the environment is already shifting a little in favor of revisiting health care.”

I'm live-blogging the summit, for as long as I can sit here to do it.

Linked by pamib who has a hilarious piece on what really happened in the health care summit day - hope you' read it.

Democrats Blame Pollster Rasmussen for Failed Agenda and Poor Image

Democrats are ticked at pollster Scott Rasmussen. They believe the Obama image and agenda have been smudged by the President's continually falling poll numbers in numerous categories. Rasmussen is the recipient of liberal blogger wrath. Needless to say, when Rasmussen showed Obama polling high in favorability, Rasmussen was a dollface. For this, Media Matters cannot bash Bush. The Rasmussen Reports are downright embarassing to moonbats. Maybe Rasmussen actually polls a fair sampling of Americans. How unique.

In this Politico report, a University of Wisconsin political scientist, Charles Franklin, says Rasumssen regularly polls Obama's favorables lower than other polls.  Franklin believes he returns a Republican result. Can it be that EVERYONE ELSE polls a Democrat result? Can it be that Rasmussen actually polls a true cross-section of America - and polls only "likely voters?" He claims that is exactly what he does.

The public is all too aware of how Democrats analyze an issue. Here's an example from Media Matters:
“Whether intended or not, Rasmussen polls have been used by conservative voices as talking points, and when that happens on one side it inevitably produces a reaction from the other,” explained Mark Blumenthal, a polling analyst and the editor and publisher of Pollster.com. “Rasmussen produces a lot of data that appear to produce narratives conservatives are promoting, and that causes a reaction.”
The monthly index for December shows the President losing 3 points for the month, and losing 2 points for October and 2 in November. The last poll taken in December was on the 26th. Take a look at the graphic above. The Christmas Eve passage of ObamaCare is not viewed fondly. November saw the same, as it was then becoming evident the Senate would have a vote on the most enslaving, unconstitutional and arrant legislation to come out of Congress in the history of the Nation.

Nasty brats...these Democrats.

PelosiCare Democrats Voting Nay: Dan Boren No vote on health care HR 3962

Rep. Dan Boren tops the list of Democrats voting 'no' on health care HR 3962. Boren, from my home state of Oklahoma, is our only Democrat in congress. See a list Democrat congressmen voting no on HR 3962 below, along with a link to the actual bill.

Dan Boren

Rep. Dan Boren (D-OK) said he voted against the PelosiCare because:
...it raises taxes and will lead to a single-payer health care system in the United States.
In town hall meetings in August, Boren told constituents he would not support a health care bill that raised taxes on small businesses or that included a public option.
The worst thing we could do during a recession is raise taxes and this bill does just that,” said Boren.

“I also believe the public option would ultimately lead to a single-payer health care system,” Boren added.
Although I support eliminating health insurance companies’ ability to deny applicants coverage based on pre-existing conditions, this 2,000-page and $1 trillion bill, is just not the answer to America’s health care problems,” said Boren.
Thirty-eight fellow Democrats voted nay, plus DanBoren.

Bill Owens NY23 Campaign Promises Trashed: Owens Sworn In Abandons Campaign Promises

Just like a lying Democrat, Bill Owens the Democrat winner of the NY 23rd District special election race for the U.s. House of Representatives, was sworn in and minutes later abandoned his campaign promises. Today he will vote for PelosiCare.

Bill Owens

Owens was against a public option - that was "then," and "then" was during the campaigning period. According to The Gouverneur Times, he now supports PelosiCare:
A spokesman for Congressman Owens indicated correctly that Mr. Owens had recanted his solid position against public option later in the campaign, clarifying that he did not wish public option to be a 'litmus test' for the Health Reform bill and that on Oct. 30th, several days prior to the election, in a debate had stated that he generally supported the public option as it was now written (at that time.)

Mr. Owens also indicated during his campaign that he was firmly opposed to cutting Medicare benefits, taxing health care benefits, and increased taxes on the middle class in any way as you can see clearly in the screenshot below, taken directly from Mr. Owens' campaign website.
Obviously, Owen needed to lie to win the election. This is a good sign for the November 2, 2010 House race when Owen will have to defend his ascendancy to Capitol Hill, probably facing off with conservative Doug Hoffman.

George Miller Paid Sick Leave Law: Democrats Tromp Business and Liberty

This week, a new federal law was introduced. If it becomes law, and if your employer sends you and your H1N1 home, he must also pay your salary for up to five days. But it is apparent that Rep. George Miller (D-CA) plans to go farther than just H1N1 with this legislation as the first step.

George Miller

In fact, if passed, your employer must pay for your time off for the swine flu AND any "other infectious disease," according to George Miller (D-CA), the chair of the U.S. House Education and Labor Committee.
Sick workers advised to stay home by their employers shouldn't have to choose between their livelihood, and their co-workers' or customers' health," Miller said.

"This will not only protect employees, but it will save employers money by ensuring that sick employees don't spread infection to co-workers and customers, and will relieve the financial burden on our health system swamped by those suffering from H1N1."
I believe many employers would rather pay an employee to stay home with H1N1, as a less expensive option to spreading the virus around the workplace, but it should be the employer's choice.

The bill will be heard the week of November 16th and Miller hopes to have a full vote soon. Paid sick leave for "infectious" diseases is just the first step to legislated paid sick leave, all the time, every time:
Miller said at least 50 million American workers are not paid for time taken off sick, "many in lower-wage jobs that have direct contact with the public such as the food-service and hospitality industry, schools and health care fields."

Foot of Big Brother

Today, paid sick leave is not mandatory under U.S. law today. The above quote tells us what is coming. Call, email, and write your Congressman. Find your Representative here. This is one more case of Big Brother tromping its exquisite Testonis all over liberty.

Matt Burns is DeDe Scozzafava Ex Campaign Manager: Burns Endorses Doug Hoffman

DeDe Scozzafava, a New York Republican, dropped out of her bid for the U.S. House from New York's 23rd district and endorsed her Democrat opponent, David Owens. Assemblywoman Scozzafava's ex-campaign manager endorsed Hoffman.

New York 23rd Congressional District

Republican Burns took a stab at defending Scozzafava's "capable" legislating, but said he disagrees with her decision to back Democrat Owens:
I am supporting Doug Hoffman, because denying Nancy Pelosi another foot soldier is vital to restoring fiscal responsibility and common sense in Washington.
Mr. Burns said he agreed with Newt Gingrich:
...the party needs to recruit both moderates and conservatives if it expects to pick up seats in '10. He said he agrees with ex-Speaker/ex-Scozzafava backer Newt Gingrich (R) that the party needs to find candidates that fit their districts. Burns: "Otherwise, it's going to be tough to take back the House."
Perhaps Burns didn't hear the latest from Newt:
The age of party leaders picking people is over.

This is both a tribute to the power of the national conservative movement to define an issue and a commentary on the populist anger against politics-as-usual.
Burns did the right thing. Scozzafava was not statesman-like, and Doug Hoffman is the only conservative who has run in this race, or is running in this race.

Chris Wallace interviewed Rush Limbaugh in Florida for Fox News Sunday. The video below is Part 2. Here Rush say that he is "proud" of Glen Beck. See Part 1 here. See Part 3 here.

From Limbaugh's transcript: a few pull-out quotes from the video below:

WALLACE: And in 30 seconds, how do you insure the insured without this big overhaul?

RUSH: Well, I've run the numbers, and the real number of uninsured that want insurance is 12 million. Take some of the unspent stimulus. We have 85 percent of the stimulus unspent. Take some of it. For 35 to $40 billion a year, you could insure those people, not $2 trillion, not 1.4 -- if that's the objective, do it now.

WALLACE: Do you think the individual mandate is constitutional? Do you think...

RUSH: No, I don't think the...

WALLACE: ... do you think the government has the right...

RUSH: No.
WALLACE: ... to tell people, "You're going to get health insurance, and if you don't get it, you're going to pay a penalty?"

RUSH: I do not think it's constitutional. Chris, this -- this is -- these are dark days for the country. This is deadly serious stuff. This is a total attempt to remake the country as founded and constituted. And it -- it worries me greatly....

Rush - I don't know of any Republican who would try to take over one-sixth of the U.S. economy. I don't know one Republican who would put forth this -- this irresponsible cap and trade bill. I don't know one Republican who would actually do that as something he initiated.

Health Care Stealth: Happening Now! Call these Senators

Beware: The mammoth cost of health care should be the last of your concerns, because the legislation, itself, will put the quality of your life at risk. I received the following in an email from Maggie's Notebook contributor, Jim Simpson at Truth or Consequences. A health care vote is coming in the Senate if Rahm Emanuel and Barack Obama stamp their foot a few more time. DO NOT think this is over until after recess. If you've been checking the headline, you know that is not the case. Now is the time to ramp-up the fight. Even in the newly, supposedly re-worked plan to make it more palatable to Republicans, dire issues still remain. Forget about cost. The issues are: 1) The day the plan takes effect, if you change your job, you will never again be able to have a private plan, no matter what your new employer offers you. You will be on government health care, like it or not. Do not be deceived that you will have an option. 2) Five years after the plan goes into effect, if you are still with same employer, on a private plan, your employer's plan must match the government plan. 3) Your medical records will be in government hands. If you believe the President when he says your records will be private, remember that we cannot keep homeland security and military information private. If ever anything is communist, taking charge of our health records is absolutely dictatorial. This is one you should care deeply about. 4) Doctors pay will be bundled: he/she will not be paid for when he/she treats you but by how the government deems he has managed your case. Your doctor will be removed from guiding your care in all ways. 5) We are told that no one will be excluded from this plan - but the truth is seniors will be excluded. No more hip or knee replacements, no more pace makers - all of that is probable. And what good is to be covered if you doctor cannot treat you adequately? There is so much more. Please visit Ironic Surrealism for a list of tweets from people who are going through the bill line-by-line and quoting the bill. To give you some idea what you'll find some astonishing tweets. Here's an example:

Fed Govt mandates eligibility 4 State Family Planning Svcs. Say abortion & State Sovereign. Nurse Home Visit Svcs – “increasing birth intervals btwn pregnancies.” Govt ABORTIONS any1?
What you do in the next few hours may determine the future of healthcare in this country. You have to call the following Senators RIGHT NOW. While we all have been breathing a sigh of relief that the Healthcare bill would not come up for a vote before the Senate recess, Rahm Emmanuel and the Senate Democrats are quietly managing to manipulate Republican Senators into supporting a changed healthcare bill worked out in a six-member panel of the Senate Finance Committee. The Washington Post reported today that A VOTE MAY OCCUR BEFORE THE RECESS. The members of that panel are listed below. It has not been voted on in Committee yet, but if it wins with Republican support, the Democrats will call the bill "Bipartisan" then remove whatever positive changes Republicans made when the Senate version goes to the Conference Committee to work out differences with the House bill. The House bill is the terror that everyone has been commenting on, and with Pelosi in charge, it WILL NOT CHANGE. THIS IS THE BILL THEY WANT, and it brings with it the following horrors: euthanasia for seniors, drastically reduced healthcare availablity, no private healthcare at all, taxes, taxes and more taxes, wiping out the private healthcare industry and on and on. The bill will destroy both our healthcare system and add yet another body slam to an economy already reeling from Obama's other monstrous initiatives. CALLING IS BEST. ONLY FAX OR E-MAIL IF YOU CAN'T GET THROUGH. E-MAIL ONLY IF YOU ARE FROM THE STATE. Beg them, plead with them, tell them anything, but try to convince them not to support it. Tell them you will withhold donations to any and all Republicans if they support it. This bill is a DISASTER!! Tell them that. Put them on the defensive. Make sure they hear your voice!! CALL THE DEMOCRATS TOO. If you are a democrat, tell them you will withhold donations to any and all Democrats if they vote for it. Let them know that you are outraged. Yesterday in my calls to Congressmen I expressed my shocked disbelief that anyone could possibly be so reckless and irresponsible as to dream up such an overtly destructive piece of legislation. They need to know how we feel! Pass this e-mail on to everyone you know and urge they do the same. Update 7-30-09: Sprain your ankle. Denied an MRI or whatever the doctor prescribes. TODAY, you can decide to pay for treatment now denied to you, out of your own pocket. Now, we don't what to do that, BUT we can mortgage our house or sell our car if we want to, to get the necessary treatment. AFTER health care reform passes, you no longer have that option. Your doctor is not important in the management of your health care.

The American Democrat Party: Culture of Death

I have been saying this for years and folks just laughed and some just laughed it off. Some said that this too shall pass. To me, those that laughed for whatever reason are still in a state of insanity due to their purposeful neglect. Recently, J.R. Dunn wrote a column entitled, "Democide". In that piece, in part:
"Over the past fifty years, something on the order of a half-million Americans have been killed by liberal policies." That line appears to have gotten to people, as it should. Among the many welcome comments on my piece on Christopher Buckley, a number both on AT and elsewhere referred to that statement -- my contention that liberalism is not only a failed ideology, but a deadly one, an ideology that kills, and kills in large numbers. Many of the comments called it "incredible", "unbelievable" and "shocking". That's in no way difficult to understand. Achieving awareness of the lethal nature of liberalism's excesses is much the same as coming to realize that your friendly, familiar neighborhood is actually overrun by vampires. [...]
Most of you that know me know that I am undertaking a project that proves the above beyond a reasonable doubt. The proponents of American Liberalism, no matter their stature in life and position are directly responsible for not only killing millions dying of Malaria, they have murdered entire generations of "voters"...they died of abortion. They are directly responsible for the deaths and wounding of American and Allied Forces in several wars and Police Actions, Iraq and Afghanistan being in the present tense. I loathe them all. They disgust me. They cannot be trusted. Their ideologies have been attempted in many Nations and those principles of which they stand resulted in entire populations to be enslaved to the governments under which they lived and live and those governments have failed time and time again. Their system does not work. Period. It never has and it never will.

Slavery - that is what the Democrat Party of the USA is all about. A historical search will bear that out, especially before, during and after the American Civil War. But, that won't stop them. It is all about Power to these people. Nothing else matters. If our Troops are killed, maimed or wounded, they could care less. I have seen it first hand. If they can enslave the American Population, the more Power they will have. Barack Obama is the Shining Example of the Culture of Death. He supports infanticide, no matter how he tries to spin it. He voted FOR infanticide and that is a matter of public record. He and his Goons can deny it all they want to...facts are facts and the record is the record. SPIN THAT.

The Vatican has declared the American Democrat Party as the Culture of Death. Joe Biden has been practically excommunicated from The Church. Nancy Pelosi was heavily and handily chastised by her Archbishop over her rewriting Vatican principles and history. Nancy now knows that history didn't start the day she was hatched. The American Democrat Party is directly responsible for the MILLIONS of deaths following their cowardly retreat from Vietnam. They are directly responsible for American deaths in Vietnam. That is a historical fact. They can deny all they want to and spin as much as they want to but I bet they have a hard time explaining it all when the demons come.
[...] It will come as no news to readers of this site that liberal policies tend to fail. But some of them fail catastrophically. And when they do, they kill. They kill in large numbers. They have been killing for decades, and they will continue to kill for as long as we allow it. The process is called democide, the murder of a populace by its own government. It can occur through malice, or indifference, or through incompetence. Almost always, it is instigated by an ideology -- fascism, Nazism, communism... and liberalism. According to Dr. R.J.
