John Morton Phyllis Coven: ICE Votes No Confidence in Morton Coven
In June 2010, seven thousand ICE officers and employees from the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) cast a 'Vote of No Confidence' in their Director, John Morton and the Assistant Director Phyllis Coven. Remember when Morton recently said ICE "will not prosecute Arizona law? I ask you after reading this, if you are against Arizona's Immigration law, what do you think now?
One thing is very interesting in this press release: nowhere is the word "immigration" used. ICE agents understand that there is no such thing as "illegal immigration," there are only illegal aliens or illegal migrants.
I understand the administration's memo recently revealed showing attempts to bring full amnesty without going through Congress. Obviously, ICE leadership is involved in the attempt to slip amnesty in the back door of the White House.
The ICE agents say that whistleblowers are retaliated against. In the event you do not read it all, here are two pull-out quotes
"The lack of technical expertise and field experience has resulted in a priority of providing bingo nights, dance lessons and hanging plants to criminals, instead of addressing safe and responsible detention reforms..."From the pdf press release:
"Unlike any other agency in the nation, ICE officers will be prevented from searching detainees housed in ICE facilities allowing weapons, drugs and other contraband into detention centers putting detainees, ICE officers and contract guards at risk."
This action reflects the growing dissatisfaction and concern among ICE employees and Union leaders that Director John Morton and Assistant Director Phyllis Coven have abandoned the Agency's core mission of enforcing United States Immigration Laws and providing for public safety, and have instead directed their attention to campaigning for programs and policies related to amnesty and the creation of a special detention system for foreign nationals that exceeds the care and services provided to most United States citizens similarly incarcerated. The following are the items of concern listed in the press release. I have numbered them. The original uses a bullet that doesn't function well with my blogging template:
It is the desire of our union within ICE and our employees to publicly separate ourselves from the actions of Director Morton and Assistant Director Coven and publicly state that ICE officers and employees do not support Morton or Coven, or their misguided and reckless initiatives, which could ultimately put many in America at risk.
(1) Senior ICE leadership dedicates more time to campaigning for immigration reforms aimed at large scale amnesty legislation, than advising the American public and Federal lawmakers on the severity of the illegal immigration problem, and the need for more manpower and resources within ICE ERO to address it. ICE ERO is currently overwhelmed by the massive criminal alien problem in the U.S. resulting in the large-scale release of criminals back into local communities.
(2) Criminal aliens incarcerated in local jails seek out ICE officers and volunteer for deportation to avoid prosecution, conviction and serving prison sentences. Criminal aliens openly brag to ICE officers that they are taking advantage of the broken immigration system and will be back in the U.S. within days to commit crimes, while U.S. citizens arrested for the same offenses serve prison sentences. State and local law enforcement, prosecutors and jails are equally overwhelmed by the criminal alien problem and lack the resources to prosecute and house these prisoners, resulting in the release of criminal aliens back into local communities before making contact with ICE. ICE senior leadership is aware that the system is broken, yet refuses to alert Congress to the severity of the situation and request additional resources to provide better enforcement and support of local agencies.
(3) ICE is misleading the American public with regard to the effectiveness of criminal enforcement programs like the ICE "Secure Communities Program" using it as a selling point to move forward with amnesty related legislation. As officers in the field, we know this program will not improve enforcement or provide for public safety because ICE refuses, for political reasons, to request the additional manpower and resources needed to adequately operate the program.
(4) The majority of ICE ERO Officers are prohibited from making street arrests or enforcing United States immigration laws outside of the institutional (jail) setting. This has effectively created "amnesty through policy" for anyone illegally in the U.S. who has not been arrested by another agency for a criminal violation.
(5) With only a handful of officers nationwide authorized to enforce U.S. immigration laws, and demand for these officers higher than ever before, hundreds of ICE officers nationwide perform no law enforcement duties whatsoever because of resource mismanagement within the Agency. The remaining ICE officers who do perform enforcement functions spend a majority of their time performing non-law enforcement duties because ICE ERO lacks the support staff to perform related support functions.
(6) ICE Detention Reforms have transformed into a detention system aimed at providing resort like living conditions to criminal aliens. Senior ICE leadership excluded ICE officers and field managers (the technical experts on ICE detention) from the development of these reforms, and instead solicited recommendations from special interest groups. The lack of technical expertise and field experience has resulted in a priority of providing bingo nights, dance lessons and hanging plants to criminals, instead of addressing safe and responsible detention reforms for non-criminal individuals and families. Unlike any other agency in the nation, ICE officers will be prevented from searching detainees housed in ICE facilities allowing weapons, drugs and other contraband into detention centers putting detainees, ICE officers and contract guards at risk.
(7) ICE has virtually no consistent national policies. As a result, the Agency lacks adequate direction and managerial infrastructure. Operations suffer, accountability is nonexistent, and ICE is unable to perform at its potential.
(8) Senior leadership ignores reports that ICE internal investigations conducted under the auspices of the ICE Office of Professional Responsibility conceal Agency and supervisor misconduct and are used to retaliate against employees who make whistleblower type disclosures or question inappropriate policies and procedures.
It is our sincere belief that the integrity of the Agency as well as public safety ill be better provided for in the absence of Director Morton and Assistant Director Coven.Linked by Moonbattery - Thanks!

Eric Holder Joe Arpaio: Eric Holder Threatens Lawsuit Gives Arpaio Deadline
Attorney General Eric Holder is threatening to sue Arizona's Maricopa Country Sheriff Joe Arpaio if requested documents are not turned over to the DOJ by August 17th.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio Arpaio's attorney says the DOJ has picked the target, with no valid reason for doing so. In other words, they want to shutdown Arpaio's aggressive and effective protection of the people in his county, and so are now looking for a violation, rather than finding a violation and then going after it.
Robert Driscoll, a Washington lawyer representing Arpaio, said Justice Department lawyers "have picked the man and the department and are trying to find a violation, rather than find a violation and then seeking to vindicate someone's rights."
"They have been investigating for two years," said Driscoll, who added that most people assume it has something to do with racial profiling.
But Driscoll said, "If it was going on now, presumably they would have evidence of this now."
In a letter, assistant attorney general Thomas Perez, head of the Justice Department's civil rights division, said the sheriff's office is not turning over material that Perez's lawyers are requesting. Over a year ago, Arpaio's lawyers asked that the Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility investigate alleged attorney misconduct regarding the investigation. In his letter to Arpaio's lawyers, Perez said such "unfounded allegations" are not a basis for refusing to cooperate with the Justice Department probe. If you are not familiar with "The" Sheriff, watch this video of Arpaio talking about the modification of Arizona's SB1070, and how his department investigates lawbreakers, no matter their ethnicities. He also talks about the DOJ's 1-1/2 year investigation into his department. A pertinent part of this video comes at about 4:20 min-in.

Chris Christie Matt Lauer : Chris Christie on Sacred Cows: Teachers Unions Cops
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie interviewed with Matt Lauer yesterday. When asked about the fallout of taking on the "Sacred Cows," teachers, unions and police, and if he feared them, Christie said "I don't think you can lead out of fear." Christie could have added, "because I'm doing the right thing," an unknown concept to the mainstream White House Propaganda Squad. This is a very interesting video interview, with a Governor who understands his job.
Christie quote:
The Teacher's Union in New Jersey has demanded 4% and 5% increases in a zero inflation world. They pay nothing in, the majority of them, for family health benefits, from the day they are hired, to the day they die.

Charges Against Bush DOJ Dropped: Prosecuting Voter Fraud is Politically Incorrect
After millions of taxpayer dollars, and years of investigation, the Obama Department of Justice (DOJ) says all charges are dropped against the Bush DOJ for the firing of U.S. attorney David Iglesias, and nine other U.S. Attorneys. Iglesias was fired because New Mexico's Republican party said he was "soft on voter fraud." The final decision coming today is, firing an attorney for being soft on voter fraud is politically incorrect, but not criminal.
How incredible is that? Stopping voter fraud is politically incorrect? It backs up the testimony of a former DOJ attorney in the Obama regime, who has testified the current DOJ says they will not investigate voter intimidation or fraud because doing so will not increase voters!
"Evidence did not demonstrate that any prosecutable criminal offense was committed with regard to the removal of David Iglesias," the Justice Department said in a letter to lawmakers Wednesday. "The investigative team also determined that the evidence did not warrant expanding the scope of the investigation beyond the removal of Iglesias."
Prosecutors also said there was insufficient evidence to charge someone with lying to Congress or investigators.
Iglesias was fired after the head of New Mexico's Republican Party, complained to the White House that Iglesias was soft on voter fraud. He asked that Iglesias be replaced so that the state could "make some real progress in cleaning up a state notorious for crooked elections."Alberto Gonzales has been on the hook for years, knowing that if there was any way possible, this DOJ would hang him. It's sickening that our government will protect a U.S. attorney who refuses to investigate voter fraud and/or intimidation. The Obama DOJ lost this one, but there is a creeping lawlessness in that body and throughout the administration that bodes ill for November. Keep your powder dry, friends.

Alabama Cop Keeps Videographers Off Public Beach with Ambulance, Paramedic and Fire Trucks
Marguerite Cravatt along with a co-producer and cameraman have traveled the Gulf coast area extensively. On what should have been a busy beach day, the only activity is that of the BP cleanup and "a medical emergency" needing ambulance and a fire truck.
The video below is of an Alabama beach in Gulf Shores. As Cravatt tried to video the action, out of the way of the "emergency," but in camera range and on public property, an Alabama police officer tried to stop her. During that time, more paramedics arrive, and another ambulance arrives and eventually takes someone out on a stretcher.
Marguerite says she is an "independent producer," and with her small crew is traveling the Gulf Coast area and documenting the oil spill:
We collected video footage from the epicenter - Venice, as well as Grand Isle, New Orleans, the French Quarter, and we toured the swamps and the marshes of Louisiana. We drove the coastline of Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, and we saw oil, oil, and more oil. Hundreds of miles of beaches destroyed.Visit Cravatt Productions for the whole story.

Maria Ross Dallas Jail Guard Arrested for Illegal Alien Status
Maria Ross has been working for the Dallas County Sheriff's jail facility in some capacity since 2001. Yesterday she was taken into custody on charges that she is in the country illegally.
To be hired by the Sheriff's Department as a jail guard or deputy, candidates have to be U.S. citizens. It's not only a Sheriff's Department rule but a requirement of the state licensing agency, the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.
However, the state requirement only became effective in 2003, according to a spokeswoman.
Ross has a Social Security number, according to family court records.
Her state officer standards and education record shows she attended classes at El Centro College and Dallas Baptist University. She also attended the sheriff's academy before obtaining her state jailer license in 2001.
Ross, whose maiden name is Medrano, married a Dallas County sheriff's deputy, David Ross, in 2005. They have two small boys.
The couple separated in January 2009, the same month Maria Ross filed for divorce, according to court records. The divorce became final last month, records show.Oh come on, now. Ex-hubby turned her in??? I don't believe the Sheriff's Department didn't know, so hubby forced the outing.

Ennis Montana July 4th Parade: Bozeman Tea Party Wins Float Contest
The annual Bozeman, Montana TEA Party won first place in the Ennis, Montana Independence Day float contest. The parade did not offer a 2nd or 3rd place, just the coveted 1st, and it went a TEA Party. How's that for patriotism? The photo below is a man in bronze covering his heart at the Veteran's Memorial.
Among the entries was Terri and Ron and their Rusty Cowboy entry of a Sheepherder's Wagon. Ron had lived in this wagon for over 20 years. If you have a wondering heart, it's up for sale.
The Bozeman TEA Party prevailed by winning the 1st place award for their float. They had a live singing group on the float, many flags. It shouted 4th of July. The judges were from out-of-town, knew no one in the parade, and the vote was not considered political. According to my tipster, it will take some time for one or two local entries to get over losing to outsiders (said with a chuckle).
I have to say, that wagon is impressive
The heroic Parade Grande Marshall, Johnny France, is famous nationwide for rescuing a young female athlete from two genuine mountain men crazies, Don and Dan Nichols. Kari Swenson of Bozeman was wounded by a shot to her chest during her rescue. She survived and later that same year, won an Olympic Gold Medal in the Biathlon Championships in 1985.
The Nichols, father and son, escaped. One of France's deputies was shot and died. It took the Sheriff about 5 months to track them down. The father is serving an 85-year sentence. The son received 20-years but was paroled in 1991.
Johnny France wrote a book, Incident at Big Sky. My tipster is critical of two made-for-TV-movies about the kidnapping, saying it incorrectly portrayed France as a redneck. In the video, you'll see that the Ennis residents love Johnny France.
It was a beautiful day for a parade, and this one had it all: bagpipes, gorgeous horses, vintage cars, pretty girls, kids on bikes and in strollers, kids walking with livestock, little kids on big horses, fife and drum, American flags everywhere, and America the Beautiful...on the Bozeman TEA Party float (about 6 minutes in).
At the beginning of the video, you see the Ennis Veteran's Memorial and a bronze statue done by my tipster. Can you guess who the tipster might be? If you are a regular reader, you've probably guessed by now. After watching the parade video below visit my storytelling tipster, who produced a prop for an A and E special on the Nichols abduction and capture, and also attended the premier showing.
The parade is all an Independence Day parade should be. If you have children, they will love watching this video.

Obama $50 billion for State Local Aid: Pelosi Hecklers Get Paid
Nancy Pelosi was relentlessly heckled in a recent speech. The hecklers were members of her usually adoring choir. This time, her minions were unhappy with her. They wanted more state aid to fund her massive programs. It appears her own personal knight in shining armor, Barack Obama, has rushed to her aid and on Saturday (yes, on Saturday) asked Congress for a fast $50 BILLION for what he sees as "emergency aid." The emergency is placating Nancy Pelosi's voters. See a video below.
President Obama urged reluctant lawmakers Saturday to quickly approve nearly $50 Billion in emergency aid to state and local governments, saying the money is needed to avoid "massive layoffs of teachers, police and firefighters" and to support the still-fragile economic recovery.
In a letter to congressional leaders, Obama defended last year's huge economic stimulus package, saying it helped break the economy's free fall, but argued that more spending is urgent and unavoidable. "We must take these emergency measures," he wrote in an appeal aimed primarily at members of his own party.
House Minority Leader, John Boehner (R-OH) said he was at the White House on Thursday and there was no mention of a $50 Billion bombshell hitting the American people. He also reminds that there is no budget out of the House this year.
But House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) argued the president wants to use money already approved in the stimulus act to fund struggling state budgets.
“The money that has already been appropriated in the Recovery Act, that has not been spent could be spent now,” Hoyer responded. “We can’t stimulate and depress at the same time.If the money is already tagged and approved for state aid, why is Obama asking for it? Something smells like dead fish:
White House chief of staff Rahm Emmanuel has said that the administration wants to both cut spending and stimulate the economy in the coming months. If Obama can accomplish this, with much of Congress up for re-election in November, then he is a wizard...or Congress is as more corrupt than we can begin to comprehend. But from a Democrat point-of-view, outraging moderate Democrats, Independents and Conservatives may be preferable to standing on principle against Unions. A note about the graphic above: without a Federal Budget, the CBO can hardly project debt or deficits on a downward path. Related information on Deficits and Debt at Seeking Alpha.

Greg Baer SEIU: SEIU thugs own Police? Megyn Kelly SEIU Video
When 500 SEIU union thugs departing from Washington, D.C., descended on a private home in Maryland - actually standing on the front porch and speaking though a megaphone, early reports said the protesters stayed off of private property and there was no reason for police to take action - you know, like arresting trespassers, or endangering a minor taking refuge in a locked bathroom inside his own home... or something. See a video below.
Initial reports also said that Washington, D.C. police crossed into Maryland's Montgomery County and escorted the protesters to the home of Bank of America attorney, Greg Baer.
Now, police are denying the 13 or 14 busloads were "escorted" to the home, and denying that D.C. police crossed into Maryland.
In the video below, you'll see the SEIU'ers on the Baer's front porch, you'll hear the two police chiefs deny escorting or protecting the rowdy group of protesters who tromped all over Mr. Baer's personal property - and with 500 people milling around this not terribly large front yard, probably tromped all over some neighbor's property as well.
BigGovernment brings up other issues, and journalist and Baer neighbor, Nina Easton, was there and calls it what it was: a mob.

Joe Arpaio Geraldo Rivera: Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Arizona Illegal Alien Law
Geraldo never learns, but then the man is incapable of being embarrassed. Arizona Maricopa Country Sheriff Joe Arpaio appears on Gerald Live fairly often. The two never agree. The good Sheriff nevers loses a argument to Geraldo, the champion of all illegals.
In this video just before the legislation was signed into law, Arpaio ably sets Geraldo straight, and Geraldo doesn't hear a word of it. Listen to Geraldo's dishonest language as he interviews Sheriff Joe.
Note that Geraldo asserts that the Federal Government has the authority to regulate immigration. Only Geraldo and those on the Left would characterize border encroachment as "immigration."

DOJ Finds Weapons of Mass Destruction: Hutaree Weapons of Mass Destruction
There is a wealth of information coming from the Hutaree arrests, including info on weapons of mass destruction.
The Department of Justice indictment claims the members planned to kill an unidentified member of local law enforcement and then attack the law enforcement officers who gather in Michigan for the funeral.
According to the plan, the Hutaree would attack law enforcement vehicles during the funeral procession with Improvised Explosive Devices [IED] with Explosively Formed Projectiles, which, according to the indictment, constitute weapons of mass destruction.Apparently President Bush will be exonerated for not finding WMD in Iraq...a country to this day still flush with IEDs.
Listen, this is coming from our Department of Justice. So which is it? Is an IED a WMD...or not. Or are WMD redefined when Americans are charged? I mean, I just sayin'...WHICH IS IT?

Donna Jackson Shoots Intruder with Shotgun in Oklahoma: Billy Dean Riley Dies at End of Donna Jackson's Shotgun
Donna Jackson, in Cushing, Oklahoma, was on the phone with 911 as a man tried to break into her home. Jackson was home by herself. As she talks to 911, the dogs continue to bark and he bangs on the door. Jackson gets her 16-gauge shotgun out. The 911 operator can hear him knocking and yelling. Listen to it below. (this report is paraphrased)
Jackson says he is "crazy." She gives 911 instructs for police on how to get in the front gate, the dog's name and where to find a key to the house. The dispatcher asks if she can go to a room and lock herself in. Jackson eventually says I've got a shotgun and I'm not going in a tiny room.
The Operator tells her that she has the 'okay' to defend her property. I don't want to kill this man, but I will kill him. He's kicking the door. He's going to make it in. Please hurry.
Jackson says she thinks he is drunk. Oh dear God,...it's a big shotgun. It will break my arm. As soon as the police get here I'm putting the safety on. Jackson says he keeps yelling "Pat." He's getting ready to break a window.
The man picked up plastic patio table and threw it through the patio door.
Oh, he's got it. He came through the window. She put the phone down. She tells the Operator he is in the house and she is going to shoot. Eventually she does. Oh please dear God I think I killed him. Please dear God in heaven, I think he's dead. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry Father.
The police are still not there. The Operator calls Medi-Flight.
Listen to this woman's anguish. Her anguish for his family. There's only one way to look at this. This man did this to himself. The dead man is Billy Dean Riley. He was 53 years old and the photo above is from a 2005 mugshot. Donna Jackson did not know him. The police do not arrive for what appears to be over 24 minutes after the 911 call begins. The report from NewsOK is here. I've never heard anything like this. I bet you haven't either.

On October 30th, Melody Ross was a bystander at a dance after a football game when shots rang out and Melody was hit. She died the same night in hospital. Davis and Vinson are both 16-years-old and are charged as adults in her death. Each is charged with one count of murder, and each with two counts of attempted murder.
According to this report, Vinson is a resident of Bellflower, California and Davis a resident of Long Beach. Neither are believed to be students at Woodrow Wilson High School, where Ms. Ross was an honor student and a member of the track team. They are also not believed to be students of Polytechnic High which was the rival team at the evenings football game.
Two other men were also hit in the shootings, but are expected to survive.
Bail for Davis and Vinson is set at $3 million.
Just look at these two young men. They look so young. It appears they did not know Ms. Ross. What were they thinking? Where were their parents? Now this beautiful and talented young woman, Melody Ross, is gone. It makes me sick. Read my original reporting on Melody here.

Nidal Malik Hasan Murders in name of Allah? CAIR Defends Islam
This morning, the word that the Fort Hood shooter was a heinous man, but Islam is not, rolled out. Nidal Malik Hasan murdered in the name of Allah, according to people on the scene, although those reports are not confirmed. The Council on American Islamic Relations, (CAIR) - an unindicted co-conspirator in the war on terror, has released their predictible and disingenuous statement. CAIR failed to mention that if Hasan murdered in the name of Allah, that particular act is called "jihad." See update 11-07-09 11-08-09 below.
This article, written by Cynthia Tucker, supports CAIR's position. The CAIR press release is here.
Most Americans will no longer buy this. Our courts will, but "we the people" will not. Islam is an ideology with a Koranic mission to wipe infidels off the face of the earth. It is a fact. It is also a fact that many Muslims who live their lives peacefully, know that others inside the "faith" are committing jihad, and they do nothing to stop it. It is also a fact, that to abolish jihad from the "faith" is to abandon Islam.
The writer says there is probably not a "teachable moment from this
horror," and says the Army need to look "carefully" at stress-plagued
soldiers.
There were about 7 hours of teachable
moments yesterday - for some, those hours will never end - those hours will be the defining moments in their lives. The Army was already investigating Hasan.
Tell me what they could have done with him, without cries of
discrimination? There is nothing they could do except:
(1)
let him out of the Army after paying thousands for his education, and
send the message that if you don't want to go to a war zone, just let
us know and we'll fix it for you or
(2) deny all
promotions and try to keep him quiet in an environment where men and
women know they will on a battlefield fighting the same ideology that
Major Hasan believed so intensely in.
How many centuries has this been going on and we still reject that Islam is anything but peaceful?
There
has never been a time, anywhere in the world, that Islam was not the
aggressor. No, not every Muslim is radical, but can anyone show me one
instance, even within the Military, where Muslims personally want to
put an end to Islam's threat to infidels?
This writer says we should not get carried away by the news that Nidal Malik Hasan was Muslim because many Muslims have served in the military bravely, "some offering the highest sacrifice."
I don't argue that. We do not know the details of each and every Muslim serving alongside our Military. That's the problem. What are we asking Muslim to do when deployed to a war zone fighting the war on terror. We are asking Muslims to kill Muslims, with their "faith" teaching that only Muslims can and should survive.
In this case, without stepping foot inside a war zone, a soldier murdered soldiers in the name of Allah, as do all terrorists.
I know many Muslims are serving this country, but, really, I ask again, will they tell you they want to put an end to Islam's threat to infidels?
My prediction: If Nadal Malik Hasan lives, he will go to prison. I'm hearing this afternoon that he is paralyzed, so if he lives he will not go to prison - and no, being paralyzed is not punishment enough. The soldiers at Ft. Hood will be blamed for harassing Hasan for his religious beliefs. "Stress" will be used to excuse Major Hasan's actions. No one can answer how a solider is supposed to react to a man among them, saying that America is the aggressor in Iraq. There is no answer, because every right answer is discrimination. Most Americas will no longer support the Muslim cries of "discrimination," but our leaders will. Our troops will continue to serve side-by-side with Muslim soldiers who do not believe in the war on terror and are not fully committed to eradicating jihad. Fort Hood will happen again, somewhere, in some way.
Update 11-07-09:
The TelegraphUK confirms eye-witness reporting that Hasan walked into the Soldier Readiness Centre, dress in military uniform, sat down as though he would help a soldier with paperwork and then jumped onto a table, shouted Allahu akhbar (God is great) and opened fire with an 'fn 5.7' semi-automatic weapon - a "favorite of Mexican drug gangs.
An Army officer said that he counted three full magazines of ammunition near Hasan's felled body and five or six empty ones.Hasan fired more than 100 rounds "mostly inside the Soldier Readiness Centre

Kimberly Munley is Ft. Hood Police Wounded: Kimberly Munley Shot Nadal Malik Hasan
Kimberly Munley is the civilian police officer arriving first on the scene of the Fort Hood shootings. Reports this morning are that she shot Nidal Malik Hasan 4 times. See NEW update 11-07-09 below:
Thursday evening from the hospital, Munley was able to make phone calls. She is 34 years old and has a 3-year-old daughter.
Lt. General Robert Cone praised Sgt. Kimberly Munley's rapid response:
It was an amazing and an aggressive performance by this police officer," Cone said.
Cone said Munley's aggressive response training taught her that "if you act aggressively to take out a shooter you will have less fatalities."
"She walked up and engaged him," he said. He praised her as "one of our most impressive young police officers."

Sergeant Munley's previous police partner in Wrightsville Beach, N.C. says she saved his life in 2000. An offender had her partner, Appler, straddled on the ground and was reaching for the officer's weapon. Munley jumped on his back and pulled him off of Appler and forced him into handcuffs, according to this report. This from Appler the day after the Ft. Hood murders:
She’s a testament to the type of law enforcement officers that Americans can be proud of,” Appler said, leaning forward in his chair as if to emphasize his point. “It takes a lot of courage, a lot of training and the right mindset to interdict a shooting and make yourself a target rather than the innocent people, and it’s no surprise to me that Kim was able to do that.”
This report says Munleys bullet wounds are to the upper leg and thigh region. An unconfirmed report late today said that the a/the bullet(s) are remain lodged in her leg.
A reader reminds me that it was a female security guard that shot and killed Matthew Murray who burst into a Colorado Springs church and killed 4 innocents, and wounded 5 before Jeanne Assam shot and killed Murray. Assam was a security guard with law enforcement experience.
Update 11-07-09:
The TelegraphUK reports that Sergeant Munley was hit in both thighs and once in a wrist:
Doctors say they are still fighting to save the injured Sgt Munley from a lifetime in a wheelchair.

Marc Lamont Hill Fired: AIM Marc Lamont Hill: Cliff Kincaid Marc Lamont Hill
Cliff Kincaid, editor of Accuracy in Media (AIM) showed up at the News Corporation annual meeting on October 16th and asked Rupert Murdoch why FOX News hired Dr. Marc Lamont Hill?
News Corporation is the parent company of FOX News. Rupert Murdoch is the CEO of News Corp. Dr. Marc Lamont Hill was a paid analyst for FOX News and appears, maddeningly and often, on Bill O'Reilly's The Factor.
Kincaid was in the middle of raising a question that he has asked in a series of recent columns - namely, while properly questioning how the Obama Administration could possibly have hired Van Jones, with his radical background, how did FOX News hire Marc Lamont Hill as an analyst, when Hill had an easily documentable record in support of cop-killers. Before Kincaid completed the background for his question, News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch interrupted Kincaid to say that he appreciated Cliff's work on this matter, and that Hill had been "fired" last week.On October 7, 2009 AIM reported this:
Marc Lamont Hill, the far-left hip-hop professor and paid Fox News Channel analyst, has a record in support of cop-killers. And now we have learned that he went on "The O'Reilly Factor" to defend black militants who held a March vigil in honor of Lovelle Mixon, a suspected rapist with a lengthy criminal record, who murdered four Oakland police officers. Hill said on Fox News that the activists, many of them from a communist organization, were protesting "police terrorism." Recall that Hill claims that cop-killer Assata Shakur, who fled to Communist Cuba after escaping from prison, is innocent. Hill has also declared his support for Mumia Abu-Jamal, another convicted cop-killer, who is on death row. Hill called him a "freedom fighter" and "political prisoner" devoted to "black liberation" and announced that the convicted killer would be contributing to Hill's website as a weekly contributor. "Welcome Brother Mumia!!!!" Hill said. The defense of the protesters in the Mixon case adds to the growing concern about this Fox News contributor, who is paid handsomely by the channel to appear on various Fox News Channel shows and is supposed to provide the appearance of fairness and balance. From an article titled The Extreme makeover of Fox News analyst Marc Lamont Hill:
Who would plaster his Twitter page with police mug shot photos of convicted cop-killer Assata Shakur? Fox News contributor Marc Lamont Hill did. At least until David Horowitz and Accuracy in Media took notice and wrote about it. Now the page features photos of boxing great Muhammad Ali. Hill's MySpace page is also gone. There are other changes as well. The tributes to Shakur and black racist Khallid Muhammad, known as "America's Black Hitler," have disappeared from his web pages. The articles were saved, however, and can be found here. Remember that Hill had claimed that he hadn't written the tribute to the cop-killer, and that it had been posted under his name and written by someone else, even though it was signed, "Marc." The claim was difficult to take seriously. There was no confusion about the Muhammad piece, since it included personal references to Hill's growing-up years. That article concluded, "'I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU DR. KHALLID."AIM refers us to quotes by Khallid Muhammad, according to a new book by Fred Gielow:
Fred Gielow's excellent new book, "I Can't Believe You Said That!," has been published, with a section on Muhammad. Considering some of the statements reproduced in this book, one can understand why the tribute to him would be taken off Hill's website. But we are still left wondering why it was there in the first place. You will recall that Hill, who appears regularly on "The O'Reilly Factor," had described Muhammad as "a mentor, teacher, and revolutionary hero."
In Gielow's book, Muhammad is quoted as declaring in1995, "This is the time of the black man's rise and the white man's demise." This quote is rather mild, compared to what he said in his 1996 "Kill the White Man" speech to a black audience: "...I say, goddamnit, we kill 'em all! [applause] You say, well why kill 'em all? Why kill the women? First, why kill the babies? They're just little innocent blue-eyed babies. Because g*ddamnit, they're gonna grow up one day to rule your babies. Kill 'em now." Fox analyst Hill has declared his belief that the brain aneurysm that claimed Muhammad's life was somehow deliberately induced by outside forces and that Muhammad was "assassinated."As Maggie's Notebook contributor, and writer for the Examiner, Jim Simpson, says:
Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media has scored a victory for our side as significant as Trevor Loudon's exposing of Van Jones. He got racist radical Marc Lamont Hill, a former Fox News commentator, who rationalized cop killing on air, fired. We have a lot to thank Cliff for. He has helped expose Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn's likely involvement in fatal bombings and kept the heat up, and has brought to our side absolutely critical information about our domestic enemies you will be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Go to his website. Look at all the incredible resources, and put in a donation! Cliff is one fighter we want and need to be at the forefront in this final battle for the soul of our country. After watching Marc Lamont Hill's incredulous performance, defending the indefensible on FOX, and being treated with an extreme measure of respect for his opinions, I'm happy he is gone. Bring on the next Liberal.

Joe Arpaio Phoenix Immigration Sweep: Arpaio Cites the Law
After Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, supposedly put a thumb on Sheriff Joe Arpaio's ability to check the legal status of illegal aliens, he said he still had ways to conduct crime sweeps (and let us remember that being in the U.S. illegally is...illegal, making it a crime). See a video below.
The Department of Justice is investigating Arpaio, for what he refers to as his "crime suppression operation." According to this report, Arpaio "launched a crime and immigration sweep in northwestern metro Phoenix," on October 16th and Liberals are aghast. It's racial profiling in their opinion.
Citing a 1996 federal law, Arpaio said officials are allowed to detain someone briefly if that person is in the country illegally. This weekend's "crime sweep" began in Surprise, AZ. A search warrant was served on a car wash. The Manager was arrested for driving to work on a suspended license.
...nine people at the car wash who were arrested, seven were picked up for illegal immigration status and two were arrested for identification theft.Apparently, the Sheriff's opponents have been taping his arrests, and he and his deputies are now joining in the documentary-making:
The Sheriff also spoke out against his opponents who video tape his deputies during the traffic stops saying they create safety concerns for his deputies.Sheriff Joe, who says he is an "equal opportunity cop," explains how he will continue to pursue illegals in the video below, because it is legal for him to do so.
"I too will now have people videotaping our deputies," he said. "We won't edit the tape the way they do."
