I have to tell you, this gave my tummy a jolt, even though these Palestinian boys were throwing rocks at a car, which according to Weasel Zippers, is driven by a Jew. It's the Mom in me I guess. Incredible video below.

New Blog: Save Mosab Yousef
Many of you know the story of Mosab Hassan Yousef. Homeland Security believes Yousef is a national security threat. He is scheduled for a deportation hearing in a San Diego Homeland Security court on June 30, 2010.
We hope the new blog, Save Mosab Yousef, will put focus on his plight, give the public the details of his story, and ultimately provide the support he needs for his court hearing.
Our plan is to contact members of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security, Rep. Duncan Hunter (D-CA), selected members of Congress and the press.
The "we" in this effort is Bob at The Camp of the Saints, Karen at The Lonely Conservative, and Maggie at Maggie's Notebook.
We are not associated in any way with, and receive no funds from, any non-profit or profit organization, or individuals. We do not know Mr. Yousef. We have had no contact with him, but are undertaking this endeavour on our own. We are lobbying for his life. We hope to keep Mosab in the U.S. and out of the Middle East, where he will face certain death.
Our open letters and emails will be posted on the blog. We hope you will utilize them, and work any connections you have. Please visit Save Mosab Yousef for details. We welcome your comments and suggestions.

Helen Thomas Fired, Dropped and Uninvited
This a follow-on to the Helen Thomas firing-retiring story. USA Today says she was dropped by her Speaker's bureau and "agreed" not to give a commencement speech at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland. Miss Thomas has been fired, dropped and uninvited.

Hamas Flotilla Aid: Hamas Flotilla Aid Refused
Israel trucked the cleared aid from the terrorist flotilla to the Gaza border, but Hamas refused to accept the delivery. Apparently, Gaza doesn't-need-no stinkin'-aid until Israel has released all detainees, including all al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood members.
Twenty trucks of aid were refused. Will Israel truck it back to the border when Hamas gets in the mood?
If you believe Israel is "occupying," do some research, because you are wrong. "Occupation" aside, Hamas and Hizbollah charters call for the extermination of Israel. Until that changes, there will be no peace. It won't change, so get used to the fact that there will be no peace - which is exactly the way Hamas wants it.

Gaza Flotilla's Al Qaeda Members: Gaza Flotilla Infiltrated: Hamas Refuses Flotilla Aid
YNetNews reports the Gaza Flotilla had al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood members on board. Were the "peace" activists secretly infiltrated? In addition to Turks, there were Yemenites and Indonesians that fit the description of "terrorists." In an odd twist, Hamas has refused the aid aboard the Flotilla until Israel releases the terrorists. See a video below.
YNet:
Some among that group are believed to have ties with World Jihad groups, mainly al-Qaeda.
...it is clear that the majority were recruited by the same IHH handler who organized the flotilla.
IHH is a Turkish humanitarian relief fund with a radical Islamic anti-Western orientation.
Some of the suspects were found to be carrying large sums of money. Others had Kevlar vests and gas masks; and all were found to be carrying weapons such as knives, metal clubs and slingshots.Ignoring all evidence, a HuffPo columnist, Robert Naiman had this headline: Gaza Freedom Flotilla Shows Awesome Power of Nonviolent Resistance.
Hamas is refusing to accept Flotilla aid, which included Kevlar vests, night vision goggles, and some claim $1 million was on board, until Israel releases all al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood members.
The first video below shows boxes of plates thrown at Israeli IDF, a stun grenade was thrown in the boat, water cannons were used, and see the metal bars and heavy chain link used. (The graphic and video found at Muqata's). The second video shows live fire coming at the IDF. Hear the Israeli military calling for reinforcements.

Susan Rice Skips U.N. Debate: Rice Vacations: Susan Rice Still Wildly Ineffective
No surprise here. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, stayed in Washington...rather than go the U.N. headquarters in New York. She's no dummy. She gets paid the big bucks and get the embossed business card and sends someone else to do her job, and this isn't the first time. To quote Richard Grenell, a former U.N. Ambassador, Rice is "wildly ineffective."
Rice, who has "delusions" of grandeur wanted to stay home in D.C. for the Memorial Day weekend. She did, and she missed the emergency meeting to lynch Israel for their handling of a sea blockade of Turkish ships trying to get to Gaza or be martyred (as one woman put it). Some were martyred. At this time, none have gotten to Gaza.
Oh well, Rice "was engaged the entire time," her spokesman said. Deputy U.S. Representative Alejandro Wolff filled-in for her, but she pulled the strings throughout the entire 12 hour meeting. She also didn't call an emergency meeting for the U.N. in the awful Haiti crisis. It was apparently her place to do so...but she didn't bother, so U.N. head Ban Ki-Moon had to step in and ask for more troops.
Since John Bolton left the position, the U.S. has had zero influence at the U.N. With Rice, our influence is sub-zero.
Rice is still "wildly ineffective" but Vogue thinks "she's got game."

Mosab Hassan Yousef Homeland Security: Homeland Security to Deport Mosab Hassan Yousef
Mosab Hassan Yousef, known as The Son of Hamas, has been targeted by Homeland Security for deportation. Yousef is a Palestinian. His father is a Hamas leader. Mosab was an agent for Israel's Mossad for many years. In a strange turnaround in his life, Mosab was imprisoned in Israel for ten years, witnessed the torture of Hamas members by Hamas member and met a tourist who led him to convert from Islam to Christianity.
Mosab Yousef's life story is awe-inspiring, unless you have a Liberal viewpoint. Which begs the question: Who is behind the effort to send him home to certain death? Is CAIR lobbying Homeland Security? Is Hamas lobbying Muslim Congressmen Keith Ellison (D-MN) and Andre Carson (D-IN)? Are Ellison or Carson involved in this in any way? Is Syrian President Assad lobbying his ally, Nancy Pelosi? How about the powerful Dalia Mogahed, or Obama's good friend Louis Farrakahn and the "Fruits" of Islam? Or maybe Obama's good friend, drinking-buddy and Jew-hater, Rashid Khalid?
On the other hand, maybe it's our dhimmi U.S. State Department or more simply, Eric Holder in our Muslim-infected Department of Justice.
This young man needs our prayers, our telephone calls, our faxes, our emails. In short, we need to lobby for his life. Read Mosab's story here. Karen has more.

Flotilla War Atmosphere before Israel Boarded: Al-Jazeera: Martyrdom or Gaza Shores
The Muqata website is following the terrorist "Flotilla" news closely. You will find ongoing updates there. A couple of things from the website that you won't read elsewhere:
The Muquata:
PMW reports: On the day before the Gaza flotilla confronted the Israeli navy, Al-Jazeera TV documented the pre-battle atmosphere created by men on board the flotilla, chanting a well known Islamic battle cry invoking the killing and defeat of Jews in battle:
"[Remember] Khaibar, Khaibar, oh Jews! The army of Muhammad will return!"The flotilla's goal:
Al-Jazeera also interviewed a woman who said that the flotilla participants' goal was "one of two happy endings: either Martyrdom or reaching Gaza."Read the background on this story here, and remember, the Oslo Accords grants Israel the right to blockade, and the right to stop-and-or-search ships for weapons bound for Palestine.

Israel Protects Right to Search Ships Bound for Gaza: IDF Video
A few days ago, President Obama said the War on Terror is over, and we learned that Syria has 1,000 ballistic missiles pointed at Israel, courtesy of Iran. In the same time span, Hizballah received 1,000 rockets, courtesy of Iran. Israel is the only country that will receive these rockets - intended for launch into Israel. Also a few days ago, Israel was notified that a "six boat flotilla" of ships carrying "aid" to Gaza would pass through their blockade. Israel considered the "flotilla" "an act of provocation," and notified Turkey the "flotilla" would be searched at their port at Ashdod. In the past, numerous ships carrying supposed aid to Gaza have been stopped and found to be carrying weapons. Apparently the "flotilla" had no plans to be search. See a revealing video below - and remember, Israel had the right to board the ship, even though the ship was in international waters.
Israeli commandos boarded one of the ships and there were deaths on both sides. There is a blockade in place. This incident was not about humanitarian aid, but was about putting Israel in a terrible place in the eyes of the world. How many journalists were aboard that Turkish cruise ship?
The Israeli Navy contacted the ships and warned them they would not allowed to break the blockade, as provided by the Oslo Accords:
International law allows for countries to ask suspicious boats to identify themselves. The vessels' passengers did not cooperate and called the move "scare tactics" on their streamed broadcasts. The request was refused. Here's what happened next:
The IDF searched the boats for arms immediately after the takeover. The soldiers were forced to use tear gas after they were attacked with knives, daggers and cudgels, putting their lives in danger. Unofficial reports that ten persons have been killed and another ten wounded were admitted to Rambam Hospital in Haifa were changed by the Arab television station Al Jazeera, to two killed and four wounded. An Al Jazeera reporter on one of the boats reported hearing gunshots.Israel was set-up for a peaceful search. There was no way for Israel to discern the truth without boarding the ship.
The preparations included a compound at the Ashdod port consisting of air conditioned tents equipped with computerized stations, metal detectors, and seating for the activists manning the ships. The IDF is preparing for the arrival of some 800 peace activists. The IDF said that they were ready to carry out the government's decision to prevent the ships from reaching the Gaza shore.
The IDF said Thursday that much thought was put into the preparations for the convoy's arrival. The plans include trained navy forces boarding the ships, with the aid of dogs, to search for weapons and explosives as well as wanted terrorists. The IDF said that they did not know whether the ships carried these items or people, but that they were preparing for any possible scenario to prevent potential catastrophes.Nine
He [Netanyahu] says hundreds of people on board that ship beat, clubbed and stabbed soldiers, and there was a report of gunfire. He says that forced soldiers to attack. With the defection of the U.S., the world's governments have finally fallen into the footsteps of the Islamic-dominated U.N. The U.N. is meeting to discuss the horror of Israel's deeds. The world is now positioned against Israel. The War on Terror continues. The video below shows the violence against the IDF, and this IDF video is even better.

Maher Udda Hamas Official Captured by Israel
Maher Udda, a high-ranking Hamas operative, believed to be a military commander in Ramallah, headed a murderous West Bank cell that killed dozens in Israel.
Israel has been hunting Udda since 2000. He was arrested in his home by the IDF, the Shin Bet and the Israel Police:
During the second intifada, Udda assumed a leadership role in Hamas' armed wing in Ramallah....During the subsequent several years, Udda worked primarily in financing and directing attacks against Israeli targets and was thought at some point to have served as a deputy to the head of the armed wing of Hamas in Ramallah, Ibrahim Hamed.
Hamed was arrested by Israeli forces four years ago and is considered one of the most prominent prisoners that Israel is refusing to free in connection with a deal for the release of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.Udda is implicated in two suicide bombings in 2003: the attack on Cafe Hillel and the hitchhiking station at the entrance to an Israeli army base.
Rusty at The Jawa Report points out that Udda tortured his own Palestinian brothers:
In addition to murdering Israeli citizens, notice who Udda is suspected of torturing. Not Israelis, but Palestinians. This is exactly how all Islamist insurgencies operate. They hate the the kuffar (unbelievers), but they hate the murtadeen (apostates) even more....gives them religious grounds for murdering their political enemies since under Islamic law apostates are killed.Udda (47), the father of 4 children, is the last on the list of those sought by Israel for killings in the second infitada.

Mosab Hassan Yousef Son of Hamas Leader: Mosab Hassan Yousef Israeli Informant
Mosab Hassan Yousef is the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a co-founder of Hamas. For many years, the now 32-year-old Yousef supplied Israel with intelligence that foiled terrorist attacks against Israel from Palestine. See a video with Bill Hemmer, Jonathan Hunt and Mr. Yousef below. Read the latest on Homeland Security's efforts to deport Mr. Yousef.
Mosab Hassan Yousef converted to Christianity about 10 years ago. In 1996 he was arrested by Israel and imprisoned. In less than a year, after watching members of Hamas torture other Hamas members, and after a chance meeting with a Christian tourist, he began working with Israel's Shin Bet and began informing on Palestinian jihadists. If you skip the content below and go right to the video, know that Israel praised Mosab for saving many, many lives...and said he didn't do any of it for money...he did it because it was the right thing to do.
Today, Mosab lives in or near San Diego and he attends an evangelical Christian church.
[Mosab Hassan Yousef] supplied key intelligence on an almost daily basis from 1996 onwards and tracked down suicide bombers and their handlers from his father’s organization, the daily Haaretz said.
Information he supplied led to the arrests of some of the most wanted men by Israeli forces, including Marwan Barghouti, a Fatah leader often tipped as a potential president who was convicted of masterminding terrorist attacks, and one of Hamas’ top bomb-makers Abdullah Barghouti, who is no relation of the jailed Fatah chief. His Israeli handler, known as Captain Loai said Yousef, whose codename was Green Prince, saved untold Israeli lives - "they owe him their lives and they don't even know it," he said.
The amazing thing is that none of his actions were done for money. He did things he believed in. He wanted to save lives. His grasp of intelligence matters was just as good as ours — the ideas, the insights. One insight of his was worth 1,000 hours of thought by top experts."
Mr Yousef...went as far as tracking down would-be kamikazes himself in the streets of the West bank during the Second Intifada which erupted a decade ago and left thousands of Palestinians and Israelis dead. On one occasion he followed a bomber from Manara Square in the centre of Ramallah, just north of Jerusalem.
We didn't know his name or what he looked like — only that he was in his 20s and would be wearing a red shirt," said the former handler. "We sent the Green Prince to the square and with his acute sense, he located the target within minutes. He saw who picked him up, followed the car and made it possible for us to arrest the suicide bomber and the man who was supposed to give him the belt. So another attack was thwarted, though no one knows about it. No one opens Champagne bottles or bursts into song and dance. This was an almost daily thing for the Prince. He displayed courage, had sharp antennae and an ability to cope with danger."Yousef is concerned that prisoners he helped put in Israeli prisons will be released to secure the freedom of Israeli soldier Gilat Shalit:
I wish I were in Gaza now," he said. "I would put on an army uniform and join Israel's special forces in order to liberate Gilad Schalit. If I were there, I could help. We wasted so many years with investigations and arrests to capture the very terrorists that they now want to release in return for Schalit. That must not be done."As of two years ago, Yousef was still in touch with his family. He said they love him very much, and he loves them. He said they support his decision to embrace Christianity, but they hoped he would not make his faith known publically.
For those of us blogging about a so-called "peace" between Palestine and Israel, the young Mr. Yousef echoes our thoughts exactly. He knows that the Koran does not allow peace or Israel's existance:
Hamas cannot make peace with the Israelis,” he told the daily. “That is against what their God tells them. It is impossible to make peace with infidels, only a cease-fire, and no one knows that better than I. The Hamas leadership is responsible for the killing of Palestinians, not Israelis."Two years ago, FOXNew's Jonathan Hunt intereviewed Yousef in California. Read the fascinating interview here. Mosab has also written a book, Son of Hamas. The video below is Part 1 of a 6-part series. There are 5 additional videos. View Part 2 here. View Part 3 here. View Part 4 here. View Part 5 here - which includes the story of chance meeting with a Christian, and his conversion. View Part 6 here.

Palestinian Avatars: Avatar Metaphor for Palestine?
Palestinian protesters, dressed in sky blue, long-sleeved T-shirts, matching blue paint on their faces, long braided hair, with Avatar ears sprouting, and the...loincloths - are protesting Israel's security barrier wall, and sending a message that they are the indigenous race to the land. Is Avatar the movie intended to be a metaphor for Palestine?
If Avatar was not on your list of movie-musts, the 3-D smash-hit grossed $77M in its first weekend with snow all over the northeast keeping anxious viewers at home. The story is an intergalactic tale of the Na'vi, a race that "belongs," while those arriving from Earth, do not. One reviewer of the James Cameron film, writing at Art Dubai, muses that Avatar may actually be a "metaphor for Palestine."
Israel is rerouting some of the wall, which will return half of the Palestinian territory lost when the wall went up, but that is not good enough for the villagers on the other side. Perhaps they should trying stoning any Palestinian family thinking about belting up. Without suicide bombers, the wall would not have been necessary. See a photo essay here.

Can it all be just a mistake?
By Findalis of Monkey in the Middle
For over a year I have been writing about the rockets that are fired and have been fired into the city of Sderot in Israel from Hamas in Gaza. These rockets have no guidance system in them. It is point, fire, hope that they kill someone. What they really do is to instill terror into a CIVILIAN POPULATION.
For 8 long years these rockets have fallen, they are falling now even though there is suppose to be a cease-fire in effect.
I received this letter last night. The author, Itzik Yarkoni asked me to pass this along to you, my readers.
With the result that Goldstone present to the UN Hamas’ response to the Goldstone report that the missiles sent to Israel were “by mistake”, I want to know if you would be interested in publishing my personal testimonial of life under Palestinian rocket fire, or life under the Hamas’ “mistakes.Last week Hamas issued a statement saying that the rocket attacks on Israel were not aimed at civilian centers in Israel, only military ones. (Somebody check the woods for constipated bears, and check Rome, the Pope has converted to Judaism.)
Can it all be just a mistake?
By Itzik Yarkoni
Thursday, February 3, 2010, Jerusalem
Hamas officials said that a 52-page document has been compiled to testify that the offensive missiles fired during Operation Cast lead were “an accident” due to their weapon’s lack of aiming capabilities toward military installations.
However, section 1687 of the “Goldstone Report” presents that, “indeed, Palestinian armed groups, among them Hamas, have publicly expressed their intention to target Israel civilians…. claimed responsibility for the deaths of each of the Israeli civilians killed by rocket fired during the operations in Gaza”.
This begs the question: If Hamas weapon’s suffer from inaccuracy, maybe the information that was given to Goldstone is also off target?
I remember the first time that I heard about Sapir college was when I was traveling in the United States after the army. When I asked about the whereabouts of the college, a friend replied, “It is a nice place next to Sderot. However, the situation is a little strange. Rockets are launched towards the city daily”. I did not know what lay ahead for me at Sapir College, but I decided that I would take the risk. After all, I figured something would be done, eventually, to stop the rockets.
Eight years have passed since the first rocket was launched towards Sderot. The situation has not changed, I was wrong. More than ten thousand kassam missiles, grad, and mortar shells have been fired from Gaza, of which eighty-four fell in Sderot during Operation Cast Lead. Moreover, the “military installations” Hamas speaks of are nowhere to be found in the city. Where exactly were the rockets intended to fall?
I have witnessed firsthand the "mistakes" that have not only produced several deaths, but continue to affect hundreds, if not a thousands, of people with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSD) as a result of the constant threat of incoming rocket attacks to the city.
What has been the result of the poor aiming capabilities of Hamas rockets?
As a student in Sderot, I awoke every morning to begin the usual routine of my day. However, my routine was not morning coffee and a newspaper. My routine, drenched with fear, caution, and preparation for the next rocket aimed towards my city, was different than the average student from other areas of the world.
Like clockwork, I was awoken at the same time, with the same target hit, and with the same color red alarm. This alarm notified me that I had only 15 seconds to take cover of my life. As I ran to the nearest bomb shelter, I passed the same children on their way to school. Once inside the crammed shelter, I heard the whistle.
That whistle of a rocket falling to my direction quickly became an all too familiar sound. Maybe this time the rocket will fall in my neighborhood? Maybe this time it will land in the home of someone that I know?
While waiting in a bomb shelter, praying for safety, the fire continued. It was not one rocket, or one “mistake”, that came to my direction. Many mistakes were fired towards me through the city. According to the Sderot Media Center, “Palestinian rockets directly hit more than 1,500 Israeli homes and buildings in the south. Three synagogues were hit, in addition to nine educational facilities, which include high schools, kindergartens, and elementary schools.
Can these cases actually be a malfunction in Hamas’ original plan?
After a day full of color red alarms, or after three weeks of 140 alarms during the Operation, the residents of Sderot and myself gathered to listen to the news. We heard about the mistakes that hit our loved one's homes, the mistakes that kept children from going to school the next day, and the mistakes that are expected to continue.
As a student and as a resident, we had to use our nights to recover from our day. There was homework to be done, relationships to build, our homes that we needed to continue to keep alive. We had to continue to live. However, our nights were full of their mistakes as well, for the nightly news had the highest Sderot ratings, and Hamas chose without fail to use that time for mistakes as well.
Maybe I shouldn't complain, for if Hamas had indeed aimed correctly, the extent of the destruction, the mental disorders, the loss of hope would be far greater. With that, I must say I have luck.
They retracted it a day later.
Make no mistake, the so-called Palestinians have a single goal:
To achieve this goal they will lie, cheat, steal, and murder anyone who gets in their way.The total destruction of the State of Israel and the death of every Jew living in the land.
You can help in the battle against Hamas. Become vocal. Don't be silent on this subject. Let others know about what is and has been happening to Sderot. Tell your family, friends, church/synagogue, pastor/rabbi, your Congressman or woman, your Senator, the President, your local newspaper. But don't be silent!
Secondly, remember people like Itzik Yarkoni and the other residents of Sderot in your prayers. You could sign up for Code Red Alerts, reminding you of the terror the men, women, and especially the children experience every day.
How long does any people have to be terrorized by the neighborhood bully before they will strike back?

Netanyahu Plants a Tree: Israel in West Bank Forever
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said "the message is clear - we are here and will remain here." Then he planted trees along with Israeli's living in Israel's West Bank.
Netanyahu had met with Obama's Middle East Envoy, George Mitchell, just prior to planting the trees and making his statement. Mitchell was sent to the Middle East, with offices and an entourage in Jerusalem, to move Israel to do whatever it takes to bring about a Two-State Solution. The problem is, nothing is asked of Palestine except ceasing rockets sent into Israeli cities. The demands from America are mythical, and the truth behind the demands on Israel are rotten to the core. Palestine does not want Israel to exist - not the State, not the people.
Here is some of what Netanyahu said (Source: YNetNews):
The message is clear - we are here and will remain here. We are planting and building; this is an inseparable part of the State of Israel, he said today, during a tree-planting tour of the West Bank settlement blocs. If you feel angst about supporting Israel - feel that Palestinians deserves a home, these resources may be of interest:
This is the first stop. From here we will go on to plant trees in other places.
This is an inseparable part of the State of Israel. The vast majority of Israel's citizens accept this, and it is gradually being instilled in the international psyche, said the prime minister.

Obama Middle East Peace This is Really Hard
What a pathetic whine from the leader of the Free World. After sending George Mitchell to the Middle East as his "peace" envoy, and sending Hillary to the area several times, the President says "This is just really hard." Can you imagine what Angela Merkle, Nicolas Sarkosy and the Saudi Royals think about that?
From Obama's interview with Joe Klein at Time:
I'll be honest with you.In the interview, Obama went on to say his administration had not anticipated "some of the political problems on sides..." Both statements are shocking, distressing and dangerous. America, look who you elected! Where has the man been all these years? Oh, yes - on the mean streets of Chicago organizing voter thugs into so-called grassroots collectives.
A) This is just really hard. Even for a guy like George Mitchell, who helped bring about the peace in Northern Ireland. This is as intractable a problem as you get.
B) Both sides -- the Israelis and the Palestinians -- have found that the political environment, the nature of their coalitions or the divisions within their societies, were such that it was very hard for them to start engaging in a meaningful conversation. And I think that we overestimated our ability to persuade them to do so when their politics ran contrary to that. From Abbas' perspective, he's got Hamas looking over his shoulder, and I think an environment general within the Arab world that feels impatient with any process.
There is only one issue in the Middle East regarding the coveted two-state-solution for an official homeland for Palestinians. Palestine will not accept Israel's right to exist, and no matter the fiery and solemn rhetoric, this is the only issue. If Israel cannot start with a declaration of their right to exist from their neighbors, then there will be no peace, because...because...Palestine is not committed to a peaceful solution. Palestine is committed to recoveirng land and driving out Jews.
We've shut our ears and our eyes to the obvious: Palestine wants Israel "gone" and has vowed to kill every Jew in the area. What is it we don't get about the Palestine's position? Just the same as America's refusal to recognize the threat of Islam's jihad against us, we have foolishly, for decades, refused to believe the Palestinian position against Israel. And even more foolishly, we have funded Palestine's terrorist organizations.
President Obama always thinks he has the better idea. Remember when he sent George Mitchell to Jerusalem with a whole entourage to live in Jerusalem?
The Mitchell-Obama et al goal has turned out to be "just really hard," because it is not grounded in reality. It is grounded in State Department policy that has nothing to do with reality. The two-state-solution with demanding that Palestine accept Israel has been the folly of every modern day president.
Perhaps we cannot be too critical of Barack Obama and his unpresidential whine that its "just really hard.". You elected him knowing his Muslim sympathies. Past Presidents have no such excuse (well, excepting Jimmy Carter). It is unacceptable that we cannot elect a president who respects the only democracy in the Middle East by demanding that Palestine accept Israel's right to exist, as a starting place Assuming Palestine continues that hateful position, we cut off the millions in aid to this terrorist state - make the people take out their frustrations on their leaders - assuming their Arab brothers do no come to their aid, and I don't think they would. That's the starting place for Middle Eastern dialog.

Right Reading Roundup 1-11-10 at Maggie's Notebook
In case you missed them, here are a few articles I've enjoyed over the last day or so.
Planck's Constant shows us how Muslims are taking over France. "...it is not the extremist who we have to fear, but the moderate Muslim
who through no fault of his own, by merely being Muslim, will destroy
the very fabric of western culture." Take a look at Bernie's video of the streets of Paris. We need to know these things.
Pundit and Pundette
showcases Maureen Dowd's elitist ignorance, even though today she
laments "our president came down from the mountaintop," and contrasts
Jennifer Rubin's assessment that Obama's "preference for government by
seminar made for an excruciating war-planning process." I love that
"government by seminar."
American Power tells us Democrats in the Senate are readying to change the rule on filibusters.
Ruby Slippers takes a look at Massachusetts Democrat Senate contender Martha Coakley, and wonders "what if Sarah Palin said that?"
Dolley Madison at Abigail and Dolley has A Tale of Two Mothers. She takes a look at the sacrifices for "Cadillac healthcare" and how the choices we make affect our lives.
Ol' Broad talks about the "uneducated" tea-party goers, as described by NYT's David Brooks.
Ryan Maro at PajamasMedia sees improvement in the world's oil supply, and benefits to the U.S. with Russia's new Iraqi oil operation - and he says, Iran should worried.
[the contract with Russia puts] to rest allegations that the Bush administration launched the war to seize the fields for its buddies in the oil business, a laughable accusation of Satan-level evil that has had a disappointingly long shelf life. The Lonely Conservative gets into "Oliver Stone's Secret History of America" and his much-expected, revisionist history of Stalin, Hitler and Mao. Oh come on Karen. You know Stone will be completely unbiased, as always.
Sultan Knish informs on Israel's Arab settlements. You need to know about this, and there is no one better to tell it than the Sultan.
Dr. Sanity tells us how California became a failed state.
Jim Simpson at The Examiner is spilling a little known secret about Universal Voter
Moose and Squirrel points out the absurdity of the "Goracle's" flawed propaganda, and that of his followers, and the money behind all warmists.
William Teach at Pirate's Cove asks "Who's a Climate Scientist?" and questions Al Gore's credentials.
Blackfive looks at the White House distress over troops not "magically" arriving in Afghanistan and explains the post-dithering logistics needed to get them there.
BigJournalism shines the big spotlight on Media Matter in Dumbing Down the War on Terror.

California Faculty Association Political Activism: Union Oppression on College Campus
Blogger Gary Fouse is an adjunct teacher at UC-Irvine. If you have visited his blog at fousesquawk you know that he regularly keeps us informed on the unbelievably astounding antics of academia. Gary is known for ringing the bell on the Muslim influence on the campus of UC-Irvine, and keeps a keen eye on Islam around the world. In this article, he highlights the forcing of faculty and staff to contribute to political causes they find "highly objectional."
One of Gary's latest articles is on the political activism of the California Faculty Association. He has granted permission to reprint it. Friends, these are things we need to know.
Gary Fouse
Fousesquawk
I am posting an article on American Thinker by my colleague, Leila Beckwith, Professor Emeritus at UCLA, on the political abuses being carried out by the California Faculty Association, which includes compulsory dues by non-union teachers and the use of funds to promote political causes-like the Palestinian cause and the anti-Israel cause. I have had the pleasure of meeting Professor Beckwith. She is one of the saner voices to be found at UCLA. I have also passed on this article to the Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation for their information. Read Prof. Beckwith's American Thinker article here.
State employee unions are one of the main causes that have brought California to the point of bankruptcy. This article is also well-timed when you consider that the Democrats in Congress are presently attempting to pass "Card-Check" legislation that would make it increasingly difficult for workers to avoid union coercion and union membership. Never mind. Our present government is doing every thing in its power to increase the numbers and power of unions.
In this case, I first think it is outrageous that if a worker chooses not to join a union, they still have to have wages deducted to go to said union. It is even more outrageous that unions involve themselves in political and international affairs, using members dues to promote political causes that members may not agree with.
In addition, would someone please explain to me why a teachers union in
California needs something called a Peace and Justice committee? What's
that all about? And what does the Israel/Palestinian conflict have to
do with California teachers? As professor Beckwith explains, the CFA simply creates such a committee and appoints people with the appropriate (leftist) point of view. So they appoint this professor of Latin American history (Liberation Theology, no less)as its head, one Manzar Faroohar, who is, naturally, an activist against the Israeli state.
So there you are all you teachers in the California State University system who are members of the CFA or have to pay dues anyway. This is where your money goes. If you are Jewish and/or support the Israeli state's right to exist and defend itself from terrorists, you are paying to support the other side. What does all that have to do with improving education-in a state where education is a national disgrace at the secondary level and is vastly overrated at the university level because of the dominance of left-wing loons in the professorships? Nothing.
Fortunately for me, as an adjunct teacher at UC-Irvine, I don't have to join any union or pay them one dime. The day that changes, I am gone. I have never belonged to a union in my life, and I intend to keep that record intact to the end. I just hope that those employees who are impacted by this disgrace read Professor Beckwith's article, know their rights, and act upon them.
Peace and Justice my....backside.
