Illegal Alien Sweep Arrests 596 in Southeast: Operation Cross Check Arrests 596

A three-day sweep of the Southeast by Federal agents yielded 596 illegal aliens, three of whom have murder convictions and 144 with assault convictions in the U.S. All have served out their sentences.

Sixty-six of the illegals were arrested in North Carolina. Twenty-one were found in the Charlotte area. Other states involved were Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Puerto Rico. The Ledger reports that Phoenix was a part of Operation Cross Check.

The Charlotte Observer:

The immigrants will likely face immediate deportation or an immigration hearing, although at least 12 of those arrested during the surge may also be charged by prosecutors because of prior immigration arrest records. Those offenders could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted of felony re-entry.

 MSNBC is reporting that all 596 arrested, whom they call "immigrants," have criminal records.

ArkansasOnline says the 400 federal and local law enforcement did not single out a specific nationality.

...those arrested came from at least 60 nations in Latin America, Asia, Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

No surprise our courts are innundated. No surprise illegal alien crime continues to escalate. Question: Why did we release three illegal alien murderers and 144 illegal aliens convicted of assault, back into the American community?  We DID release them back into society. We DID NOT deport them after they murdered or assaulted. This is why 70% of Americans love Arizona's new illegal alien law.
